Audio Discussion

PDF

Dear Ones next week we will be half way through this course. Are you enjoying the Textbook, the audio discussions and the blog?  Please remember these course are supported by you contribution of any size.  Please remember to make a contribution.  Thank you!  Our Textbook is Mysterious SIGNS Of The Torah Revealed In GENESIS.

In this lesson we return to a discussion of the 613 Mitzvot of The Lord. In the textbook: Mysterious SIGNS of the Torah Revealed in GENESIS we teach the 613 Commands of Ha Torah are a revelation of our Creator.  Our Creator said, Let My Light be revealed and what resulted was a revelation of the 613 Commands in the Torah.  Now in this weeks Parshat we add to this the power of PROTECTION. What our Creator has Revealed to us we are to guard, to protect.

Bereisheit 22.1

And it happened after these things that the [Eternal] Judge tested everything from the Letter א Aleph to the Letter ת Tav of Avraham.  And He Said to him, 'Avraham'. And he, [Avraham] responded 'behold'.

Notice the two Words in red.

To Test / to Prove

נ50 ס60 ה5 =115

Behold / I am Here / I am Ready

ה5 נ50 נ50 י10 = 115

To be Strong / To be Courageous

ח8 ז7 ק100 = 115

Dear Ones Avraham was ready to be proven.  Avraham was strong in Torah Observance and Courageous.  The tests are not for the weak. What Avraham was about to experience washout of the realm of normally.  When things are challenging for us we should not think of ourselves as being proven like Avraham was proven. We are not in his realm. Our Creator took Avraham down an entirely different road.   Avraham had to travel three days just to arrive at the proving grounds...  Dear Ones what we face are struggles and difficulties of an entirely different Spiritual level.  We think of them as tests.  We call them tests.  Yet, Did the Eternal Judge Speak to us? Did the Eternal Judge Direct us to do something that is considered very much out of the ordinary?

The point is many of us struggle from our own errors in judgment. There is a difference between what Avraham faced and what we face.  Avraham was an entirely righteous man. No where in the Torah do we observe Avraham use strong language like Jesus did in Matthew 23. We see Avraham as a man that is very sensitivity. Avraham was a pure man. Avraham was a sanctified man.

Then one has to ask what about Yitzchok? How could Avraham at 137 years overcome his 37 year old son to offer him as a sacrifice.  It would seem to me that Yitzchok a very very great man also.

Dear Ones, the facts are that most of us we are not on the very high Spiritual level of these great men. Can we image what it would be like to be proven as Avraham and Yitzchok?  The greatness of these two men provides us with a reality check.

Avraham and Yitzchok learned in the Academy of Shem and Eiver.  Shem and Eiver learned from Metushelach and Noach. Metushelach learned from Chanoch who was taken. Chanoch and Metushelach learned from Adam. We are many generations down the road. We did not have the opportunity to sit at the feet of Metushelach and learn what Adam taught him.

This may seem like we are denied the opportunity to be an Avraham.  Not so. We must learn as Avraham did on how to gathering the 613 Commands of Torah and how to preserve and protection them.

May we learn from their courageousness, strength and humility.

Questions:

1. Draw at least five distinctions between Avraham and us.

2. There are three Gematrias of 115.  Please discuss there relevance to Avraham and to us.

Blessings, Love and Peace,

Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk

Another course we offer at B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC is entitled Mysterious SIGNS Of The Torah Revealed IN GENESIS.  In this course we discuss Offering in the Bible.  We are going to make that lesson available here because it covers important material pertaining to this course.

Offering Of Ha Torah

Bereisheit / Genesis 2.16

Within the Name Ha Adam is the Word Dom / blood. This is a caution not to shed blood.

Some teach that Abel brought an Animal Sacrifice in Genesis 4.4. In another course entitled Mysterious SIGNS Of The Torah Revealed IN GENESIS I go into this in. There I explain that the name for a meat offering is OhLam.  The Words used in regards to Cain and Abel is Minchah and Minchato in Genesis 4. These Words mean they offered something other than a meat offering. The first time a meat / animal offering is offered the Word Oh Lot is used. This was in Genesis 9 when Noach clearly offered animal sacrifices.  This was the first time animal sacrifices were offered.

Midrash Tanchuma says that Hevel offered the finest wool and cream from the best of the first born of his flocks. Metsudah Midrash Avrohom Davis, Metsudah Midrash Tanchuma Bereishis 1 (Monsey, NY Eastern Book Press Inc. 2005) p50

R' Yosef Kimchi; Tur said that they did not build an altar because they were prohibited from slaughtering animals. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I (b) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 145

Why? How is this?

Dear Ones our Creator prohibited humankind from murder and killing. Our Creator prohibited animals from murder.

Genesis 1.29,30 says,

And God said, [to the Adam] Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, on which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food. [And God said, to the Animals] And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to every thing that creeps upon the earth, where there is life, I have given every green herb for food; and it was so.

The Stone Chumash says, 'At this time it was forbidden to kill animals for forbidden.'

Lesson 3

Exploring The Spiritual Image Of G-d In Us...

In our first discussion one we deliberated about being uniquely designed in G-d's Spiritual Image. In our second discussion we we examined the physical side of our creation as a man then as a man and as a woman. In our third discussion we want to lighten the conversation a bit by exploring the Sefirot - the Kabbalistic Concept of our Creator.

We want to come back to being made in the Spiritual Image of G-d. Bereisheit / Genesis1:27, "G-d created man in His own image, in the image of G-d He Created him, male and female He Created them"

We want to learn more about G-d and the relationship we Spiritually share. We want to understand more about G-d so we can know more about ourselves. We will use the metaphor of the Sefirot to draw this comparison.

  1. Adam and Chavah Heard the Voice of the L-rd G-d Moving in Gan Eden.

    a. Chanoch Walked with G-d, Bereisheit 5.22.

    b. Noach Walked with G-d. Bereisheit 6.9

  2. Adam and Chavah removed themselves from the area where they could feel the Ruach the Breeze of The L-rd G-d on their bodies.

  3. Moshe was close to the The L-rd G-d when He received the Tablets of Stone Mount Sinai that the skin on his face glistened... Shemot 34.29

  4. The L-rd G-d Appeared to Avram in a prophetic vision in Bereisheit / Genesis 18.1 - Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 625

We will also discuss Eht Ha Orh Everything from the Letter Aleph to the Letter Tav of the the Revelation of Light.

The enlightenment we receive flows from The Torah. We talk about the order of the Letter and how they point to G-d as First and only source of enlightenment.

We explain that the Words אֶת־הָאוֹר Eht Ha Ohr mean more than everything from the Letter Aleph to the Letter Tav. They speak of the method by which G-d Revealed His Light through the Torah. Eht Ha Ohr is the Gematria of 613. In The Torah G-d Reveals 613 Commands that all Creation is to follow. The textbook discusses this in greater detail. All the Bible flows from the 613 Commands of the Torah. Nothing exists without The Torah. The 613 Commands tells us what G-d Wants from us. They tell us what our Creator Expects.

We examine the relationship of The Torah and the number 613. We discover that the 'Light', written of in Genesis 1.1-4 is the Revelation of G-d as disseminated through 613 Commands. It is not the sun or the moon which were created on day four. We learn that the 613 Commands flow out from the Words G-d Spoke, 'Let My Light Be Revealed.' We learn of the great importance of the 613 Commands for each of us.

Some Commands are just for B'nei Yisroel / The Children of Israel. Other Commands are for every humans on this earth. Come Commands are just for women. Some Commands are just for men. Some Commands are for the Kohan Gadol / the High Priest. Some Commands are for Commands are for just the Priests. Some Commands are just for the Levites. Some Commands are for just farmers. Some Commands are just for children. The point is there are 613 Revelations of G-d's Light to us. No one Observes all 613 Commands. Yet each of us are suppose to Observe some of our Creator's Commands.

All that we have flows from the light we have received.

We view the Commands differently based upon our revelation. That is O. K. None of us has the golden key that unlocks the complete intent for each Command from our Creator. G-d Willing we go forward with this understanding.

Questions

1.) List the different degrees to which we can experience our Creator's Spiritual Image.

  1. Discuss your individual experience with the Spiritual Image of our Creator.

Dear Ones may our Creator Bless us with the desire to learn the portions of Ha Torah He Has Commanded us and may we walk with

Him as Noach, Chanoch and Avraham.

Balak - The Deception Of Bilam ©

By Dr. Akiva G. Belk

Audio 1

Audio 2

Gematria is a particular study of Jewish mysticism based on the numerical value of Hebrew letters in the Aleph Beit {Hebrew Alphabet} as inscribed in the Torah.  Hebrew Gematria has many disciplines.

This study of mysticism in Hebrew Gematria is dedicated in the loving memory of our loved one, may they rest in peace.

Dear Ones,

As we enter this Prayerful Tefillah we must understanding the background from which this beautiful prayer came forth from. In the Intro audio I use the example of being selected last on a sports team. Why use this example?  Dear Ones, it is because Israel was the last among the nations to have been offered Ha Torah. Once we hd Ha Torah we were elevated above the other nations. It was then that king Balak hired Bilam to curse B'nai Yisroel. Instead of cruising Yisroel he said:

Ba Midbar / Numbers 24.5

How Goodly are your tents oh Yaakov and your dwelling Places oh Yisroel,

A glimpse of the Word בִּלְעָם Bil'am reveals that his name consists of two separate Words.  The first Word בִּלְ Beit Lamid, Bee Lih / Bayl {chief god of the Babylonians}. Bayl comes from the Word Bah Ahl {lord} Beit Ayin Lamid.  The second word is עָם Ahm {nation}comes from the ע Ayin ם Final Mem..

Bayl {chief god of the Babylonians}

32 = Lamid 30 Bais 2

Ahm {nation}

670 = Mem 600  Ayin 70

702 = 32 = 670

Gematria Mispar Godal

Bil'am {god of the nations}

702 =   Mem 600 Ayin 70 Lamid 30 Bais 2

These are the first things we notice about Bil'am.  Next we notice that he was eager to accept a payment to curse what G-d had blessed.  If G-d had not prohibited him he would have cursed B'nei Yisroel for money.

In the Gematria Mispar Katan of the word Bil'am we see the number 702.  The Gematria 702 is increased from the Gematria Regil {i.e., the normal Gematria of 142}.  Throughout the entire story of Bil'am he is attempting to arise.  He is attempting to find a higher place than Shabbat, than the seventh day.  In Numbers 22:20 he is instructed by G-d, "Arise! Go with them."  In Numbers 22:41 we read, "And he [Balak] led him up to the high place of [his] god}."  Next we notice in Numbers 23:4 the allusion to setting "up" or establishing or arranging seven altars...  Then we observe that Bil'am's place of observing Kal Yisroel is from the peaks of the mountaintops and the hills. {Numbers 23:9}  Then in verse 14 he is taken up to the peak of a mountain... Now we notice that Yisroel is likened by G-d to a lion that arises, that lifts up... {Numbers 23:24}  Again Bil'am is taken to another peak, to curse G-d's chosen people...G-d forbid! {Numbers 23:28}  In Numbers 24:2 we observe that Bil'am raises his eyes before being forced to bless Kal Yisroel.  What does he see?  Mystically he sees something that he - Bayl Ahm {chief god of the Babylonians nations} - cannot have.  What is it that he sees?  He sees the Am Yisroel and the elevation of Shabbat!  He realizes that no matter how high he is on the peaks of the mountaintops, nothing he can do will come close to Shabbat' elevation by Kal Yisroel.  He realizes that no matter how high he builds his altars... no matter how many altars he builds... no special mystical numerical combination of seven will surpass Kal Yisroel's Shabbat observance.  He realizes that as we say on Shabbat, "You, Hashem, did not give Shabbat to the nations of the lands nor did you, G-d, give the inheritance of Shabbat to worshippers of idols..."

Next notice the special numerical connection to Shabbat.  On Bamos {the raised place} Ba'al{[of his] god} had seven altars built to slaughter seven bulls and seven rams. {Numbers 23:1}  What does Hashem say to Bil'am? "Shuv" {return...}

Next Balak takes Bil'am to the peak of the mountain where again he had seven altars built to slaughter seven bulls and seven rams. {Numbers 23:14}  What does Hashem say again to Bil'am?  "Shuv" {return...}

Next Balak takes Bil'am to the peak of Pe'or where again he had seven altars built to slaughter seven bulls and seven rams.  There Bil'am blesses Yisroel... He says "How goodly are your tents, Yaakov, your dwelling places Yisroel..." Numbers 24:5,6

Each of these sets of seven mystically points to Shabbat, the seventh day!!

Finally we realize that Shabbat, the Gematria of Shabbat which is 702, brings down the Gematria Mispar Godal of Bil'am / Bayl Ahm {chief god of the Babylonian nations}.  And now we realize the dwelling place that Bil'am Mystically saw was Kal Yisroel dwelling... rooted... enjoying Shabbat, the seventh day.

Shabbat {rest}

702 = ת Sav 400 Bais 2 ש Shin 300

The point is that when Kal Yisroel, "ALL" the descendants of Yaakov, begin observing Shabbat it will bring down all the gods of the nations and usher in the  Moshiach and the third Beit Ha Mikdosh...  This is why so many of the religions attempt to deny the Jewish Shabbat... to alter the Jewish Shabbat.. to challenge the Jewish Shabbat!!

Blessings Love and Peace,

Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk
