Shemot 18.1

Exodus 18.1

When Yitro / Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the Lord had brought everything from the Letter Aleph to the Letter Tav of Israel out of Egypt...

Our Sages say that Parshat Yitro was added in honor of Moses's father-in-law. This parshat was named after Yitro. It expresses his wisdom and powerful contribution to our system of justice in the Torah. Yitro was a man who understood government, politics and justice. He was Priest of Midian. He was a consultant to Pharaoh. And then he was an advisor to Moses our teacher. Yitro was a convert to Judaism. He was a spiritual leader of Midian. It is for these reasons and others that this week's Parshat was named after him. In fact within our Torah there are only a few Parshot named after people: Noach, Chayei Sarah, Yitro, Korach, Balak and Pinchas. As a result we should begin to sense how very special Yitro is.

We are informed that Yitro had seven names: Re'uel, Yesser, Yitro, Chovev, Chever, Keini and Putiel.

The letter ו Vav represents a connection from Yeter to Yitro to the Torah! The ו Vav also represents a connection that a non Jew makes when he / she converts to Judaism. The non Jew receives a Hebrew name. The letter ו Vav is added to Yeter after his conversion thus becoming Yitro. In other words, it is somewhat comparable to adding the letter ה Hey to Torah. When we add the letter ה Hey to Torah it represents an article. So Torah becomes "The Torah." We now compare the Gematria of Yitro with "The Torah." Both are the Gematria 616.

יִתְרוֹ

Yitro

י10 ת400 ר200 ו6 = 616

הַתּוֹרָה

Torah

ה5 ת400 ו6 ר200 ה5 = 616

 דִּבַּרְתִּי

Dee Bah Rih Tee / To say... To speak

ד4 ב2 ר200 ת400 י10 = 616

The Gematria 616 expresses the full acceptance of "The Torah" by Yitro. How fitting for the man who contributed to our system of justice in The Torah!

In addition to this, the Gematria 616 is 'MYSTICAL' in the sense that it represents acceleration, the increase, the uplifting of one's day. We see this in the Gematria Godal of Yom, meaning 'Day'. The normal Gematria of day is 56 but when we use the Gematria Miluy Godal, we so to speak elevate the day, i.e the normal Gematria transcends to Gematria Godal 616! Our day takes on a 'GREATNESS'. Can one think of a higher form of elevation than the day one converts or returns to Torah observance?

Holy reader, B'nei Israel had fallen to the 49th level while they were slaves in Egypt. They were only one level from the very lowest level.  Our Sages Say there were three reasons they did not fall to the lowest level which may have prevented their return. One of those reasons was that they kept their Hebrew names. They used their Hebrew identity! It is our Hebrew Name that has essence. It is our Hebrew Name that is scribed in the book of Life. When Yeter converted to Judaism his name was changed to Yitro. Can we imagine what it is like to have a name that shares the Gematria with Ha Torah?

When does Avram's name change?

Avram is ninety-six years old and his name is still Avram. In Passuk Hey / Verse 5 Avram's name is changed to Avraham.

Bereisheit 17.1

Genesis 17.1

And when Abram was ninety nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be perfect.

When we write about the perfection of Avram aren't we really writing about the perfection of each of us? Aren't we really writing about each of us walking before our Creator as The Lord God Instructed Avraham to do? So when I ask questions about what the Lord Meant isn't that directed to a personal level for each of us?

What did The Lord Mean when He Said to Avram, 'Walk before Me and be Perfect' ? Notice the last Word of the Passuk.

תָמִים Taw Meem means honest, innocent, harmless, upright, naive, whole, full, complete, entire, flawless and unblemished...

The Word Taw Meem occurs 54 times in Ha Tenach. The first occurrence is Genesis 6.9 when Ha Torah States 'Noach was flawless in his generation.' The second occurrence of Taw Meem is here in Genesis 17.2. The Gematria of Taw Meem is 490.

In Genesis 15.2 Avram was 70 years old. Ha Torah Records Avram's statement, It is interesting that the tenth Word is עֲרִירִי Ah Ree Ree, meaning childless. The Gematria of עֲרִירִי Ah Ree Ree meaning: childless is 490.

Bereisheit 15.2

Genesis 15.2

And Abram said, Lord God, what will you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

Avram's contention in Genesis 15.2 was 'Lord You have not given me children.' In last chapter's discussion of Genesis 16, Sarai, Avram's wife, had a similar contention. Sarai Said, 'The Lord has restrained me [Sarai] from having children.' Chronologically Genesis 16 is 15 years past Genesis 15.2.

In Genesis 16 Sarai gave Avram her handmaiden, Hagar. Avram was 85 years old at the time. A year later when Avram was 86 years old Yishmael is born. Something changes. Avram is no longer childless. Yet, Sarai remains childless.

תָמִים

Taw Meem / Perfect

ת400 מ40 י10 ם40 = 490

עֲרִירִי

Ah Ree Ree / Childless

ע70 ר200 י10 ר200 י10 = 490

What is the connection between these two Gematrias? What does not having children and walking perfect before The Lord possibly indicate? What did Avram lack? What do we lack? Do children bring about perfection? Do children bring about trials which may lead to perfection? Don't parents look back as grandparents and often say something like wish I knew what I know now today about raising children? I would have done things differently... think of the Words 'Walk before Me'.  This indicates that before a husband and his wife bring children into the world they should work on them selves first so there home will be the place to raise godly children.

Before beginning our exploration of the last six days of Jesus life there are several points to consider. Regardless of the conclusion we may each reach after reading The Last Six Days of Jesus Life my desire is that our journey should flow with interesting information and be filled with the richness of Jewish Passover Observances. It will be more authentic for the reader if I can help you to experience the thoughts and the struggles I felt. Slowly in a step-by-step way the Last Six Days Of JESUS life on Earth unfolded to me. I found myself asking unusual questions and having thoughts unaccustomed to me. Living through these experiences was both challenging and interesting. This book is a step-by-step guide through the last Six Days of JESUS Life on Earth. However it may not turn out just the way you would expect it to...

Whenever an individual attempts to do a scholarly examination, rules must be established and followed for others to follow.

Rule One is we are going to read and discuss the Gospels from a literal position. This step by step guide will go no where if we attempt to bend, ignore or rationalize away what is written in the Four Gospels.

Rule Two is we are going to examine written statements in the Gospels to determine their credibility.  Is the statement truthful? Is the statement accurate?  We are not considering the plausibility or feasibility or possibility of a statement. If a date and time can be measured we will measure it. Then the statement will be judged on the facts not the believability.

Rule Three is to be factual, to be objective, to be honest and to support all findings with references.

The Gospels will rise or fall based upon facts based upon what can be substantiated.

Dear Reader at the time I began this journey I was very biased even though this was not all that noticeable to me.  I expect the exact same bias from you. That is OK!

My Christian bias of years ago is quite noticeable to me now. Let me share... That being the situation why should I expect anything different from the readers of this book. I expect the reader of this book to be a serious Christian with strong ties to their church, and to possess a dedication to weekly Bible study.  That individual would own more than $10,000 in Christian books, commentaries, reference guides, Greek and Hebrew Bibles each with at least one interlinear, an encyclopedia, Bible dictionaries and on and on... In fact it would be necessary to set aside one room in the house or at the business to accommodate all the books just as I did. So if I were to say that a degree of bias did not exist that would be a complete falsehood. Yet at that time, twenty years ago I would not have thought of my beliefs as being biased. I was biased in favor of Christianity. That is where I was. Yet at that time I thought being neutral was an achievable goal. I was steeped in Christianity. My father was a Pastor of a successful congregation. My father-in-law then was a former pastor. As a child I was raised to attend  9:30 AM Sunday School followed a 10:45 AM church service, a large family lunch, a short break then 6:00 PM youth service followed by 7:00 PM evening service. Then there was the middle of the week service and at times weeks of revival every night... There was visiting the sick, board meetings, teachers meetings, yearly conventions and on and on... Can you taste what it was like?  Should I share about speaking in tongues and tarrying for the Holy Spirit in the prayer room for hours?  We had a large prayer room off to the left of the platform in the front of the congregation. It is where people came to 'tarry for the Holy Spirit'. So dear reader if you are biased it's OK. If you are closed minded, its fine. If you enjoy hanging out with preacher types it's great. That is where I was at then...

Whern I began my research I thought this exploration would be a fun Bible study with the congregation for a few weeks leading up to Passover. I thought the results were predictable. It didn't turn out this way. What could be so difficult about doing an examination of the last six days of Jesus' life?  If you feel this way then you are walking close to my steps.

As my journey began one of my goals was to see if it were possible to establish the day of the week with the date that the calendar event took place on according to the Gospel writers of the Christian Writings. This would help the congregation relate to the events better. One would think that linking days like Palm Sunday and Good Friday etc. with dates from the Christian Writings would be a snap.  Actually this proved to be quite challenging.  Can it be done? Yes! Another goal was to conclude this examination with a Friday evening Seder meal. Get the Congregation involved. We would have some type of reenactment of the Last Super.  I would play the part of Jesus and members of the Congregation could play the parts of other interesting roles like Judas the trader, Doubting Thomas or Peter the stalwart.  Later on in our Journey we will need to lean heavily on our rules and our goals.  This never happened.

Dear Reader this is the second book in the Passover Series. The First was entitled, A Sincere Journey Ends Without JESUS.

In this book we are going to point out many places of disinformation. Some of this disinformation is intentional in my opinion. We are going to explain why the time period around Passover is so confusing. We are going to point out a number of inconsistencies between the Gospel Writers. We will observe that their writings are NOT in harmony.

One of the areas of confusion is in how time is measured in the Christian Writings. There is the traditional measurement of time according to the Hebrew Scriptures and then there is the time introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582/5342 From Creation known as the Gregorian Calendar. The measurement of time in the Christian Writings is according to the Hebrew Scriptures. However today, 432 years from when the Gregorian Calendar originated most individuals know very little about how time is measured according to the Hebrew Scriptures.  Come on... Why would anyone living in the 21 century want to learn how to measure time according to the Hebrew Scriptures? This confusion is complemented by almost three dozen different measurements of time. Yet, originally there was only one measurement of time. This one measurement is still used today. What is the purpose of the other calendars and their measurement of time? CONFUSION! Listen! There are over 730 religions in the world today. Is this progress? These religions have thousands of splinters into additional religions... Why is this so important?

Dear reader we are going to be measuring Jesus last week on earth chronologically. This can only be accurately done using the Hebrew Scripture's method of measurement. As we journey, the time issue will become obvious. One can overcome it but it is a challenge. Ask yourself - Do I want to know the Truth? How valuable is the Truth to me?

In Chapter One we begin with the goal I have for this book. I write, regardless of the conclusion we may each reach after reading The Last Six Days of Jesus Life my desire is that our journey should flow with interesting information and be filled with the richness of Jewish Passover Observances. It will be more authentic for the reader if I can help you to experience the thoughts and the struggles I felt.

We list a few rules this book will follow in the examination of Jesus Last six days on earth. Then I admit that twenty years ago my beliefs were biased in favor of Christianity. That is where I was then. This is where the story begins. Today I have returned to Judaism and try to live an observant life.

Chapter Two is a brief look at Biblical dates and times. They tell us when  the Festival of Passover or the Festival of Unleavened Bread begin. They inform us if the day is Sabbath or a High Holiday.  Sometimes they inform us of the day, the week or the month. We conclude that the Christian Writings were written using the same measurement of time as the Hebrew Scriptures. The changes in the measurement of time came about 1,500 years after the Christian Writings.

Chapter Three discusses the impact of modern technology, i.e. computers on Biblical research.

Chapters Four through Nine discuss the measurement of Biblical Time in eight different categories. We discuss and teach how time is measured by Year, by Month, by Day, by Night, by Hour, by Week, by Holy Days. In addition to this we compare two measurement systems for most of these categories. There is clearly a difference of opinion about how time is measured. I discuss three different theories. There is no way to adequately express in this introduction the importance of the measurement of time in the last six days of Jesus life on earth. This is why I divided each chapter into it's own category. This keeps our thoughts organized and easier to reference back to as one studies. I find it quite unique that the Gospel writers break the last day of Jesus life down into hours. This is quite rare. Yet it is fascinating and assists in establishing important points Christians have difficulty with.

In Chapter Seven we examine the use of the Sabbath Day, i.e. the Seventh Day as an anchor  point to time measurement, time to and from, and as a time reference. Again there are those who argue that the use of the word Sabbath was in reference to Passover. Others teach that the use of the term Sabbath Day was in reference to both Sabbath and Passover. Then there are those that teach the use of Sabbath Day was in reference to the Seventh Day of the week, i.e. Sabbath. We discuss which position is correct and prove with  references as to why it is correct. We dispute the other arguments.

Chapter Eight is another anchor in a chain of days that are established in the Hebrew Scriptures. On the fourteenth day of the month late in the afternoon is when the Passover Lamb is killed. Then a little later at nightfall is the beginning of the Passover Seder Meal. Both of these fall during the Festival of Matzah, i.e. Unleavened Bread. Then there is the Seventh Day of Passover. Dear Reader once we establish a day and a date it is simply a matter of working back and forth. In addition Christians claim Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Sunday. They teach the crowd laid palm branches and garments in his path. They say this was his triumphant entry into the holy city.

In Chapter Nine we speak of Preparation Day as a point of time measurement and reference. Some argue that Preparation Day when used in the Gospels is in reference to Sabbath. Some argue  Preparation Day is in reference to Passover. Others teach  Preparation Day is in reference to both Sabbath and Passover. However once we establish the first day of the week as a day and time anchor, it is not difficult to work back from to prove which position is correct.

Chapter 10 is about John's statement that Jesus last meal was the [last] Supper. John states this was before the Passover Seder Meal. Matthew, Mark and Luke dispute John's position. We examine both positions to determine who is correct. There are some very clear issues with both positions.

Chapter Eleven is a 'Detour' where we take side streets so to speak to determine if John's position is correct. Come on! The Gospel writers say John was one of Jesus disciples for three years. Luke says John was one of those that went to prepare the Passover meal. Yet John says it was not the Passover meal it was a supper before Passover. This is an important date. This is the last meal with Jesus. That night Jesus is taken into custody by guards. The next day he is killed. Or is he? The point is that John should remember when it was. May individuals measure events in time from the death of a loved one. Is it possible John could have confused such an important event? Then we must ask, at that time, was Jesus death an important event?  Maybe, the Catholic Church has made Jesus death an important event.

Chapter Twelve is entitled, More Conflict With John. Why? Most Bibles are 'Red Letter' editions. The red letters are supposed to be the very words Jesus spoke. People that love Jesus cling to his words and to his quotes. Well based on what Jesus says in Matthew, Mark and Luke we have more conflicts with what John says.

Dear Reader, do you see the many angles of the last six days of Jesus life on earth?

Chapter Thirteen is what this book is all about. Chapter Thirteen is the chronological day by day account from the 8th Day of the First Month when Jesus came to Bethany through when Jesus died on the 15th Day of the  First Month.  The time frame is actually a little longer than six days. I include a chronological connection to every day  and night referenced in the Gospels during this time frame. The reader will be able to follow the journey of Jesus from Bethany to the triumphant Entry to Jerusalem to the casting out of the money exchangers to the cursing of the fig tree to the preparation for the final Passover Seder Meal to the death and burial of Jesus to the first Day of the week.

Because I am Jewish and have a strong Christian past I share many helpful points that the non-Jewish world many be unaware of. Even though some Christian readers may be unhappy with points I make, each point is referenced so the reader can determine for her or his self what the truth is. The point of this book was and continues to be, a sincere examination of the last six days of Jesus life on earth. There is a great deal readers may learn from the time applications we discuss in this book. I have spent many years in preparing this book. God Willing another book dealing with controversial issues will follow this book. Originally I intended to included these as part of this book. They are important and interesting but need to be kept separate because they deal with other issues.

Genesis 1.14

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

Here we learn that days, nights, Holidays and years are to be used to measure the day, night, Holidays months and years.

Exodus 12.1

This month shall be to you the beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Prior to this Observance Biblical time was measured From Creation. Now all the Holidays of the Bible are measured from the Month Passover is observed in.

Exodus 12.3

Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house;

No where in the False Testament do we read of Rabbi Jesus or his disciples  taking a lamb on the 10th of the firfst month. We do not know if they followed this Observance or not.

Exodus 12.6

And you shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

Exodus 12.18 - 20

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month at evening. Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses; for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger, or born in the land.  You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall you eat unleavened bread.

In Rabbi Jesus time we know that Passover began Yom Shi Shi, i.e. Thursday night. How do we know this?

And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, Mark 15:42

And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them; he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. Luke 23:50 - 54

How was time measured in the Gospels?

Are Biblical dates and times important? What purpose do dates and times serve?

Dear reader, Biblical dates and times tell us when  the Festival of Passover or the Festival of Unleavened Bread begin. They inform us if the day is Sabbath or a High Holiday.  Sometimes they inform us of the day, the week or the month. The writer Matthew makes more than 20 direct references to the Biblical dates and days during the last six days of Jesus life. Mark, Luke and John add another 38.

Matthew 4:12; 12:1; 12:40; 13:1; 15:32; 16:21; 17:1; 17:23; 20:19; 22:23; 26:2, 26:5; 26:17; 26:61; 27:19; 27:40; 27:62; 27:63; 27:64; 28:1.

Mark 1:21; 2:23; 6:2; 9:31, 10:34; 12:12; 14:1; 14:12; 14:14: 14:16; 15:42; 16:2;

Luke 1:59; 2:41; 2:44; 4:16; 9:22; 13:16; 14:1; 22:1; 22:7; 22:8; 22:11; 23:43; 23:56; 24:1;

John 1:39; 2:13; 2:23; 5:9; 6:4; 7:2; 10:22; 11:55; 12:1; 13:1; 18:28; 19:14

If dates, times and words were not important then why did the Gospel writers use them. The writer Matthew used these words to identify times and places for us the readers. In addition Matthew associates important events with the hour they occurred 14 times. Mark, Luke and John add an additional 13 references to the hour an event happened.

See:

Matthew 8:13; 9:22; 10:19; 15:28; 17:18; 20:3; 20:5; 20:6; 20:12; 24:36; 24:44; 26:55; 27:45,46.

Mark 13:35; 14:37; 14:41; 15:25; 15:33; 14:34

Luke 12:39; 22:14; 23:44; 24:33

John 4:6; 19:14; 19:27

We have the same right to use these times and dates to support, dispute or challenge, if necessary.

I see no variation from the way time was measured in the Christian Writings, from how time was measured by Moses, Joshua, David etc.  The Torah method of measurement of time is reinforced in the Christian Writings many times over. In the Christian Writings the Sabbath is always recognized as the Seventh Day.  The High Holy Days are in their proper seasons. The measurement of hours in the Christian Writings was the same as thousands of years in the past.

We begin our journey by attempting to set a foundation for the days of the week each event occurred on. Connecting the day of the week with the date the event happened proved challenging.

If one thinks back to the time before computers became a very large part of our lives, research was approached quite differently than today.  Around 1985 / 1986 Apple introduced the Mac Computer and later the Mac Plus Computer. That is when I became a computer person. This began opening up a brand new world of research for Biblical Scholars, Pastors, Congregation Leaders, Teachers etc. Our printing business purchased our first Mac. It was wonderful. Before long we owned several Macs. At that time few individuals would spend the $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 to own a Mac.  Not only did we spend the money but we purchased software from retailers like Zondervan Books. We were, so to speak, on the cutting edge.

So if you were to go back with me to that time 27 years ago it would be necessary to own several Mac's to do the research. I sat at the company computer in the layout and design room of our printing business, which was about three miles from the Congregation I Pastored.  I began the  study of Jesus last six days on earth by laying out the four Gospels in four columns.  I sat there thinking this is really cool.  It's great to own a computer... Next when the feeling of satisfaction eventually calmed, I began searching for a date in the Gospels leading up to Passover that I could connect with the Torah portion of the Bible, (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus & Deuteronomy).  It had to be a firm clear reliable date that others would be able to see, understand and agree with.

Establishing dates with days was very important so I struggled with this for a while. Why?  We have Christian days associated with the Jewish Celebrations of Passover.  The Jewish calendar is based upon a lunar cycle. Guess what? Christians also follow the lunar calendar to a degree. Christians observe Easter around the same time Jews Observe Passover. I encourage the reader to study this area in a little more depth. So let's acquaint ourselves with how the Biblical calendar / the lunar calendar functions.

Chapter 4

Lunar Year / Solar Year

The Torah portion of the Bible Teaches we are to measure our time by the sun, moon and stars. So it is proper to measure accordingly.

Genesis 1.14

And God Said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the Heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years...

Judaism measures time several ways. We measure years F.C., i.e. From Creation.

Catholics and Christians for the past 431 years have been measuring time in terms of years from when they estimate Jesus was conceived. This would be from around 3760 F.C. From 3760 F.C. Christians measure back using B.C. Or measure forward using A.D. There is no zero year. Jews contribute to the confusion of this system of measurement by using BCE instead of BC and CE instead of AD. Our Creator confused the languages and we have confused just about everything else. For the most part, this paragraph will not be a part of the discussion.

A Lunar month in the Bible is the time between two new moons. A new moon is reached when the moon is closest to the Sun. A new moon is the first visible crescent of the moon after conjunction with the sun.. In terms of time a lunar month is 29 days, 12 hours and 44 minutes. A Lunar month consists of either 29 or 30 days.

In Judaism we are to Sanctify the moon. This is called, Kiddush Levanah. We say special prayers and blessings one evening, normally after Sabbath has past. We say these blessings outside of the synagogue when when we can view the moon. One may Sanctify the moon in individual prayer but it is best to do so in a minyan, i.e. with ten Jewish men above the age of twelve.

On one occasion I was saying  Kiddush Levanah at our Colorado mountain home which was close to a forest area. As I was saying the prayers a conversation with a local businessman slipped into my mind. He told me that he saw two mountain lions chasing deer on the street in front of our home around 11:00 at night. Can you imagine what it is like to  Sanctify the moon knowing a mountain Lion might be near by?

Dear Reader the point is that where ever Jews are, we are required to Observe Kiddush Levanah. This is a very important Observance because Kiddush Levanah was the first Observance given to the Children of Israel. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p. 89.

Our Sages Teach that on the First Day of the First Month that the Lord Said,

Exodus 12.1

And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the First Month of the year to you.

From this our Sages Teach that we should go out to meet the New Moon, i.e the New Month. Rabbi Yochanan taught that one who goes out to Bless the New Moon in its proper time is like one who greets God's Presence, i.e. the Shechinah. The second purpose has to do with the Jewish People's rebirth... The Jewish people in Egypt were in decline just as the moon is once a month. Then as the moon is reborn from it's lowest point so are the Jewish people reborn. Rabbi Menachem Davis, The Shottenstein Edition Interlinear Chumash Bereishis / Genesis, {Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. First Edition 1st impression 2007}, p 454.

Exodus 21.1

וְאֵלֶּה הַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר

11: תָּשִׂים לִפְנֵיהֶם

And these, the Laws that set before them.

Dear Ones a while back I had the special opportunity to visit a new congregation which is just a few months old. This is the second time Revi and I visited. The first time we visited a man in the Congregation gave us his Chumash / The Five Book of Moses. Chumash means five. At that time the Congregation did not own any Chumashim.  This touched us.  As a result B'nai Noach Torah Institute gave 14 full size Stone Chumashim to the Congregation from our Seforim Fund.

Last Shabbat we visited again. It was good to see the Seforim in use.

This Congregation was a split off another local congregation. I attempted to bring the two groups together. Both groups were challenging. They eventually worked through their differences. The end results were that wounds were healed and they came back together. However, at the time I wrote this Parshat they were still divided.

At that time I wrote a number of Letters, spoke on the phone with each group and invited both groups to our home to discuss the matter.  These were very special individuals with different ideas about what was best for the congregation. The division was a great deal about the future of the congregation. There was a load of love and pain on both sides. Thank God over time differences were worked out.  Individuals were trying from many sides to help. Eventually several leaders from each group were able to span broken bridges, encourage trust and issues began to get resolved.

On one of those snowy days I took my lunch break to visit their Sunday School  It was wonderful.  There were classes for the infant / preschool children up through adult. Scattered throughout the study room in the home were the Chumashim.  What a blessing.

During the visit  it was a privilege to spend about ten minutes in two classes and about twenty in another.  A board member informed me that the older children were making a Book on Rabbi Akiva.  The books were about 18" wide and 24" long.  This is a great lesson for all involved. The love and work placed into the home spun books will last for years and be used by many younger children. They are being assembled with much attention to detail.  I was impressed. Rabbi Akiva was the great Torah Sage I wrote of in the Dedication of Gematria And Mysticism IN Genesis.

In another class the Teacher informed the students that this Parshat had the most Mitzvot of all the Parshat in Ha Torah.  She used several vivid examples to convey an important meaning to her students.  She told the students, that what they already possess, is worth more than if they won a great deal of money from the lottery... and she brought her point home with more examples...

The infant / preschool children were joined by several parents.  It is especially pleasing to see parents involved  taking an interest in their child's education.  When the parent is involved it tells the child the message is important.  The children were learning the Aleph Bet and saying the names of different clothing in Hebrew.

Dear Ones it was real good to see this start up congregation in action. It was even better when all the differences were worked out between the two groups and everyone united in Love.

This brings to the forefront an important message.  When ever congregations do not agree, or families do not agree, or husbands and wives do not agree Ha Torah still requires obedience and conformity. There is great reward in obedience!!

God Willing we are going to examine the Mysticism of Shemot 21.1.

וְאֵלֶּה הַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר

11: תָּשִׂים לִפְנֵיהֶם

And these, the Laws that are set before them.

The Sages Say it's like preparing a banquet of many excellent foods that will entice one to eat.  The purpose of learning these Laws is to Observe them.

וְאֵלֶּה

Ha Meesh Paw Teem

The Laws / Judgments

ה5 מ40 ש300 פ80 ט9 י10 ם40 = 484

Total

42 + 484 = 526

These are the Laws that came to our father Abraham in a Vision.

Genesis 15.1

Genesis 15.1

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a Vision, saying, Fear not, Abram; I am your shield, and your reward will be great.

הָיָה דְבַר־יְהוָֹה אֶל־אַבְרָם

the word of the Lord came to Abram

ה5 י10 ה5 = 20

ד4 ב2 ר200 = 206

26 =

א1 ל30 = 31

א1 ב2 ר200 ם40 = 243

Total is 20 + 206 + 26 + 31 + 243 = 526

When one observes the Laws of Ha Torah the obedience to the Laws have a reward... They have a blessing.

When Does A Day Begin And End?

The Biblical day begins with nightfall one evening and ends with nightfall the next evening. How do we know this?

Genesis 1.5

... the evening and the morning were

Day One.

Genesis 1.8

... the evening and the morning were

the Second Day.

Genesis 1.13

... the evening and the morning were

the Third Day.

Genesis 1.19

... the evening and the morning were

the Fourth Day.

Genesis 1.23

...the evening and the morning were

the Fifth day.

Genesis 1.31

...the evening and the morning were

the Sixth day.

The Christian writers understood a day began at evening.  This can be seen by John's comment.

John 20:1

On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb while it was early, when it was yet dark, and saw the stone taken away from the sepulcher.

The first day of the week had already begun.  It was still dark. The sun had not risen. The first day of the week began at nightfall after Saturday day.  It was termed 'the first day' and 'it was yet dark'.  The sun had not come up. This explanation clarifies that there was no disagreement about how a day was defined until 431 years ago when  Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian Calendar. The Gregorian Calendar begins and ends a day at 12:00 am. It is NOT in the mid of night. The mid of night varies according to the time of the year.

Dear Ones, understanding when a day begins and ends in the Bible is very important in relation to the six days leading up to Jesus' death. We will come and go from this point many times in this book. One can see the confusion between the Biblical measurement from that of the Gregorian measurement. The Biblical measurement points to God who Created the world in six days / time periods. When one was making an appointment one would have to return to God's point of reference. The Biblical measurement kept God in our life as a focal point.

Passover is the First Month of the religious New Year for the Children of Israel. Passover begins on the afternoon of the 14th day of the first month.  Passover begins on Thursday, the Fifth Day of the week. The Festival of Unleavened Bread begins at night fall on the 15th Day of the First Month which is the beginning of the Sixth Day of the Week, Thursday night.

Matthew 26:17

Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

The disciples knew this was the 14th day of the first month. They knew this day was Thursday, the fifth day of the week.

Matthew 26:18

And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at your house with my disciples.

Note the words, 'Go into the city' Jesus and his disciples were not in Jerusalem when they asked this question. Matthew, Mark and Luke agree that Jesus was outside the city of Jerusalem.

While reading Genesis 18 one Word really caught my attention this time through on our learning expedition. Please notice the seventh Word of Genesis 18.19.

Bereisheit 18.19

Genesis 18.19 '

For I know him, that he will command everything from Aleph to Tav of his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

Why did the Word בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv, meaning children catch my attention? First it is because at that time in history Avraham's ONLY child was Yishmael. Yet Ha Torah Records The Lord as Using the Word, בָּנָיו Baw Nawv, 'children.' Baw Nawv occurs five times before Genesis 18.19. Baw Nawv occurs in Genesis 7.7, 13; 8.18; 9.1 and 9.8. Each occurrence means children. The Word Baw Nawv is common. Baw Nawv occurs in 230 Passukim / Verses of Ha Tenach. The first Letter of Baw Nawv is ב / Bet, meaning house. Bet is the second Letter of the Aleph Bet [Hebrew Alpha Bet]. The Letter Bet Represents בית Bah Yeet, meaning House; בראשית / Bereisheit / means in the beginning. ברוך / Baw Rook, means blessings. ברא Baw Raw means to create. בן / Ben means Son and בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv, means children. This is just a very small sampling of what the Letter ב Bet Represents. Mystically we observe the connection to parenting and children. We observe that a good parent tries to build a house from the beginning creating the correct atmosphere for blessings of their children.

Why did The Lord Use the Word בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv? Well.,we cannot second guess the Creator. However we do know that בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv can represent children and grandchildren. בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv can also represent sons. We know that Avraham had eight sons, Yishmael, Yitzchok, Zimran, Yokshon, Medan, Midian, Yishbok and Shuach. Only Yitzchok was the son of the Covenant בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv represents Yitzchok and his children and grandchildren etc. and בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv represents all eight of Avraham's sons. It should not be difficult for us to understand Ha Torah's Intention in the use of the Word בָּנָיו / Baw Nawv. It is clear that The Lord Made direct reference to both Yishmael and Yitzchok and indirect references to the other sons of Avraham. Ha Torah Takes us further than this. Ha Torah Says, אֶת־בָּנָיו / Eht Baw Nawv, meaning everything from Aleph to Tav of Avraham's children and grandchildren. The Word Eht makes this all inclusive. The meaning is all Avraham's sons and their children and their grand children. Baw Nawv is the Gematria 68. Eht - Baw Nawv is the Gematria 469. Yih Tzah Veh - Eht - Baw Nawv is the Gematria of 580. Each Gematria has important associations as all Gematria does.

Now we observe the phrase יְצַוֶּה אֶת־בָּנָיו / Yih Tzah Veh - Eht - Baw Nawv, meaning [Avraham] commanded his children. This phrase brings everything back into focus. The Word, יְצַוֶּה Yih Tzah Veh, meaning he [Avraham] commanded expresses much. We have already discussed this. What did Avraham command his children? Remember back in Genesis 13 entitled Traveling Towards the Altar. There we set the foundation for this discussion. Avraham was a Teacher. Avraham taught his family to observe. In a few chapters we are going to learn how Avraham dealt with children who were rebellious.

Bereisheit 18.19

'

For I know him, that he will command everything from Aleph to Tav of his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

For every individual who is not of the bloodline of Avraham these three Words are real important. Remember back in Genesis 13 where we expanded upon the 318 servants that were born in Avraham's household? These were Noachides. They were NOT Jewish. Yet they follow observances like Avraham did.

וְאֶת־בֵּיתוֹ אַחֲרָיו / Vih Eht - Bay Toh - Ah Chah Rawv, meaning, and everything from Aleph to Tav of the household of [Avraham]. Why is this so important? It is real important because these three Words include people from all walks of life and of all descents. Ha Torah Recorded that Avraham commanded his household after him.

Bereisheit 18.19

Genesis 18.19 '

For I know him, that he will command everything from Aleph to Tav of his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

Avraham commanded his children and his household after him, וְשָׁמְרוּ דֶּרֶךְ יְהֹוָה / Vih Shaw Mih Roo, meaning to guard... to keep; דֶּרֶךְ / Deh Rehk, meaning the path... the way... יְהֹוָה / The Lord, meaning of The Lord. How were they to guard the path of The Lord? Remember back a few pages when we discussed Avraham as having 8 sons? Again, there is Yishmael, Yitzchok, Zimran, Yokshon, Medan, Midian, Yishbok and Shuach. Only Yitzchok was the son of the Covenant. There is a point to this. The point is None of Avraham Sons were Jewish. Yet we know that Avraham taught those 318 trained in his own house, Ha Torah. Avraham taught his 8 sons and his two grandsons Ha Torah. He taught them the Way of the Lord. The Sages may differ as to whether Avraham received all 613 Mitzvot of Ha Torah or just the Seven Laws. Yet this Passuk lays a firm foundation for ALL to learn Ha Torah just as Avraham taught others!

Bereisheit 18.19

Genesis 18.19 '

For I know him, that he will command everything from Aleph to Tav of his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do kindness and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

לַעֲשׂוֹת צְדָקָה וּמִשְׁפָּט meaning to do justice and judgment; לַעֲשׂוֹת / Lah Ah Soht, meaning to do the work of צְדָקָה / Tzih Daw Kawh Tzedakah meaning charity and וּמִשְׁפָּט / Oov Mee Shi Pawt, meaning Justice. So He, Avraham, Commanded his children and his household after him that they guard the path of The Lord by doing the work of Tzedakah / Kindness and Charity and Justice... Avraham taught Noachides Ha Torah! Did Avraham Teach Noachides the entire Torah? I don't know! Yet, we know Avraham taught Torah!

What is the meaning here? There are children of the bloodline of Avraham who do not 'guard the path of The Lord by doing the work of Tzedakah [Kindness and Charity] and Justice...' and there are disciples of Avraham who do 'guard the path of The Lord by doing the work of Tzedakah [Kindness and Charity] and Justice...' One is born of the bloodline of Avraham the other is born of the Spirituality of Avraham. Both are very important!!

The point is that Avraham was known for doing Kindness, Charity and Justice. Our Sages Teach that Yitzchok looked exactly like Avraham. People could not tell them apart from their looks or from their actions of Kindness, Charity and Justice. Yishmael was unruly. Yishmael was a thief. Yishmael was hated by those around him. See Genesis 16.12. Yishmael may have been from Avraham's bloodline but he did not do the actions of Kindness, Charity and Justice at first. On the other hand Eisov did the Commands at first then rebelled. Remember He [Avraham] commanded his children. As parents and grandparents we know that all of our children may not follow our instructions. It is our responsibility to command, i.e. teach them in the path of The Lord. It is their individual responsibility to Observe these Commands. At first Yishmael did not Observe these commands. Eisov did not Observe these commands after the age of 15. We can only Teach the path of The Lord. We cannot force our children to follow the Path of The Lord. So while they are all our children there is a difference!

The fullness of children is the Gematria Miluy 550. The Gematria Regal of שֹׁמְרֵי Sh Mih Ray, meaning the Guardians completes this Passuk. Even though the Word used is מִשְׁפָּט Meesh Pawt meaning Justice or Judgment it is the guardians that preform this Observance. He, Avraham commanded his children and his household after him that they guard the path of The Lord by doing the work of Tzedakah [Kindness and Charity] and Justice in order to bring upon Avraham everything from Aleph to Tav of that which The Lord Had [Spoken] upon him.

In other words Avraham's children are commanded to guard how they live in order to preserve the promises of The Lord Given to Avraham. Avraham's children are commanded to be guardians or to be just like Avraham. This tells us that Avraham was a proper example for his children. Our goal is to raise guardians of Ha Torah.

When a parent is not a proper example for their children what do they do? One begins from where they are. Try to begin repairing poor behavior. Try building on good traits.

A good parent builds a house from the beginning creating the correct atmosphere for blessings in their children.

שָׂדֶה וְיַעֲקֹב אִישׁ תָּם ישֵׁב אֹהָלִים: כח

Genesis 25.27

And the boys grew up. And it happened, Eisov was a cunning man [at 13 years of age] a hunter, a man of the field and Yaakov was a man without fault dwelling in the tents [of learning at 13 years of age].

The Torah Portion of the Bible is speaking about the time when the boys turned thirteen as noted above. It was then that each became a man. Notice the usage of the Words אִישׁ Eesh. Eisov is described as עֵשָׂו אִישׁ יֹדֵעַ a cunning man. Mystically through Gematria we learn Eisov was on the path to wisdom but made a sharp turn in the wrong direction the day Avraham died. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), pp 1068 - 1074

With Eisov everything was a guarded calculation based upon his accumulated knowledge, Ha Torah is Informing us that Eisov was a wise man at the age of thirteen. He was clever. He knew how to deceive. He knew how to trick others.

He was skilled in achieving what he wanted by using deceit or evasion, i.e. indirect answers. In addition Yoh Day Ah can mean to know another sexually. By this we know that Eisov was sexually active. He was all about fulfilling physical pleasures. Some men are like Eisov. They are all about themselves. It should not take long to identify Eisov like characteristics.

We have the Eisov type men in our world. They give the appearance that they are on the path to Ha Torah but what they do shows otherwise. They use Torah Wisdom to only benefit themselves and to take advantage of others.

אִישׁ יֹדֵעַ

Eesh - Yoh Day Ah

לְהַשְׂכִּיל

Lih Ha Seh Ceel

the path to Wisdom

ל30 ה5 ש300 כ20 י10 ל30 = 395

There is reason The Torah Portion of the Bible describes Eisov with the Word Eesh in two different ways. It is like Eisov had two different faces. He has the good inclination and the evil inclination. When we Observe Eisov the man who is described as a farmer we see a man who has gone through a cleansing but still struggles with his impure and evil nature. He says he is going to kill his brother. This is the evil nature. He does not kill his brother. This is the good nature. He is going to meet his brother with 400 servants. His intent seems to be evil yet he hugs his brother and invites him to travel with him. Now we know that even though we see this Gematria shows the clean good side of Eisov we realize he has a very bad side.

What Do I Believe About Rabbi Jesus?

Your comment gives me the impression that you are a 'BELIEVER'. I define a believer as a dedicated individual who is closed to the Truth.  A believer remains CONVINCED that Rabbi Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God and God even when the Truth shows this is impossible. A believer is CONFIDENT there beliefs are right. Nothing anyone writes or says will alter what they believe.

We agree that Rabbi Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote about. We agree that the Messiah must come from the Tribe of Judah.

Michah 5.1

But you, Beth-Lehem Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth to Me, he who is to be ruler in Israel; and his origin is from ancient time, from days of old.

Jeremiah 23.5 - 6

Behold, the days come, Says The Lord, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, "The Lord is Our Righteousness".

Psalms 132.11 - 12

The Lord has sworn in truth to David; he will not turn from it; One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne. 12  If your children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon your throne for evermore.

We both agree that Matthew 1.18 says Jesus was the son of Mary

'Now the birth of Jesus [who christians call] Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.'

We agree that 'IF" The Holy Ghost fathered Jesus then Joseph was not Jesus father. If The Holy Ghost Fathered Jesus then Joseph was at best only Jesus Step-Father.

Matthew informs us that Joseph was not Jesus father we cannot HONESTLY say or TRUTHFULLY CLAIM that Rabbi Jesus was from the tribe of Judah or of the seed of David based on his Step-Father's genealogy. So Joseph's Genealogy in Matthew does not support Rabbi Jesus as being from the Tribe of David or the seed of David.

Matthew clearly tells us that the genealogy in Matthew 1:16 was that of Jesus Step Father.  He wrote, 'And Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary of whom Jesus was born who [Christians] call Christ.'

I compared the Genealogy in Matthew 1.1 - 17 to the Genealogy in I Chronicles 1.27 - 3.19 and Observed that for some reason Matthew omitted 5 names from Rabbi Jesus Genealogy. The genealogies in Chronicles are well established. They were written more than 480 years before was written Matthew. They were vetted.

View Rabbi Jesus Genealogy Chart

Matthew states, 'So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.'

Does your Bible say this? This is WRONG! There were 19 generations from Babylon to Jesus birth. Matthew says there are 14 generations but there are actual 19. Someone is mistaken! This is an error! Who made this error? This is why I call the Christian writings The Foreign Testament. The writings have errors. They are not perfect. They have mistakes.

So what about Mary? Is the genealogy in Luke Mary's genealogy?  Christian scholars did not know there were two versions of genealogy until around the 17th century. When this was discovered they were obviously very concerned. What were they going to do? The Genealogies did not match. At that time it was suggested that one genealogy was Mary's and the other Joseph's. H. D. M. Spence and Joseph S. Exell editors, The Pulpit Commentary Volume 22 Epistles of Peter, John and Jude. The Revelation (Grand Rapids, Michigan, Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, reprint 1975) pp. 135, 169

HOWEVER,  this does not help Christians because Luke writes  Mattatha was the son of Nathan who was the son of David in Luke 3:31. This is a HUGE PROBLEM for Christians because the Messiah MUST be a descendant of Solomon who was a descendant of David.

2 Samuel 7.12 - 13

'And [David] when your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall issue from your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13  He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.'

Nathan the son of David in Luke 3:31 did not build The Holy Temple for The Lord God. Solomon built The Holy Temple for The Lord God. The Prophecy clearly states that the one who builds the Holy Temple for The Lord God is the one whose kingdom will be established forever.

So to conclude, Mathew 1:16 says 'Joseph was the husband of Mary'. Matthew 1:20 'Mary Your wife' Do you think it is alright to take another man's wife and impregnate her?

Matthew states that it was obvious to Joseph that Mary was pregnant and that 'he was not willing to make her a public example' and that 'he was going to put her away privily'.

Think about what Matthew wrote.  It obviously was a great surprise to Joseph to see that his wife was pregnant. Matthew says Joseph did not make her pregnant,  'before they came together'. What about Mary's mother? What about Mary's Father? What about Mary siblings? What about Mary's neighbors? What about the Jewish community Mary Lived in? What about Mary's girlfriends?

Christians don't know the Jewish procedure for marrying. How does a man take a wife in Judaism? There are so many unknowns that Christians should be asking. Why don't you ask these questions. Put yourself in the mother's shoes. If Mary was your daughter and all of the sudden she was pregnant at the age of 12 what would you think?  How would you react? Put yourself in the father's shoes.

Is one's imagination so impressionable that one would actually believe only Mary and Joseph knew she was nine months pregnant? How far does one have to stretch there imagination to believe this story? To what degree will Christians go to deny what is very obvious! The Lord God did NOT impregnate Mary!! Are you that easily persuaded? Are you this credulous?

It comes down to this. Do you believe what Rabbi Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5.22? 'Abstain from all appearance of evil.'

Do you think that impregnating another mans wife could have the appearance of wrong doing or evil?  I do!!

Do you think Joseph looked at his wife Mary being pregnant as being evil? I do!!

Dear Ones, some of the issues within Christianity and The Foreign Testament  result from poor translations.  Some issues exist because believers just don't really think about what is written within there own Testament and doctrines. When one comes to these ruff places in the road logic is very helpful.  For example if The Lord God says Humans should refrain from a particular action then Logic teaches us that The Angels, Spiritual Beings, and The Lord God also refrain from these actions also. This is the line of thinking when Rabbi Peter, i.e. the first Pope of the Catholic Church states in 1 Peter 1:15 - 16, 'But as he which has called you is holy, so should you be holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, You must be Holy because  I Am Holy.'

Rabbi Peter is telling Christians to practice logical thinking. If The Lord God is Holy then Christians are also suppose to be Holy. Rabbi Peter is quoting from Ha Torah, i.e

Leviticus 11.45

For I am the Lord that Brings you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be Holy, for I Am Holy.

Dear Reader this is Logic. So when The Lord God Says Birds, fish, animals, trees and flowers should each mate with there own kind this means Angels are prohibited from mating with the daughters of men as described in Genesis 6.2.

Genesis 6.2

Two of the Angels] of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful; and they took as wives all those whom they chose.

Genesis 6.4

There were 'the fallen' / Giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, because [two of the Angels] of God came in to the daughters of men, and [had relationships with them and] they bore children to them, the same became mighty men of old, men of renown [Giants].

Genesis 6.12 - 13

And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. And God Said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them [i.e. the two fallen angels]; and, behold, I will destroy them [the two fallen angels and the offspring] with the earth.

This is why the world then was destroyed.

What are the instructions God gave to Noach?

Genesis 6.17 - 20

And, behold, I, Myself, will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, where there is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with you will I establish my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20  Of birds after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.

So we see that The Lord God punished the world then and destroyed it because two fallen angels mixed there seed with that of humans which was NOT AFTER Their own kind. Therefore The Lord God would NOT violate any form of mixing seed as described in Matthew 1.18 and 1:20.

'Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost... But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.'

Using common sense and logic while studying The Holy Scriptures is absolutely necessary. One consider from the position of common sense and logic those claims that are not within  the realm of possibilities?

In Bereisheit / Genesis 1.11

11  And He, God Said, Let grass on earth [bring forth] grass, herb from their own seed, and the fruit tree making fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth; and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

21 And God Created the great giants, the great ones, and every being that is alive, that lives in the waters, according to its kind,  and every kind of winged birds, according to its kind and God Saw that it was good.

24  And God Said, Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

25  And God Made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Grass mated with grass and brought forth grass. Herbs mated with herbs and brought forth herbs. Fruit trees mated with their own kind and brought forth Fruit of their kind.

And God Saw it was good.  This means mating within one's own kind is good.  Mating outside of one's kind is not good.

Ha Torah Prohibits mixing diverse species together. This is called Kilayim meaning,  crossbreeding seeds. Their are nine types of forbidden mixtures.

1.mixed seeds

2 grafting trees

3 seeds in a vineyard

4 cross-breeding animals,

5 pulling cattle

6 mixing linen and wool in garments (shatnez).

7. Animals and humans

8. Angels and humans

9. God our Creator and humans

Kilayim is prohibited by Ha Torah. Our Creator FORBIDS altering species He Established and Created as an unwarranted tampering with the categories established by God's creation. The Jerusalem Talmud interprets the verse "My statutes you shall keep" as the laws of nature. Creation comes from God, implying that the alteration of a natural law or the modification of a species constitutes an impermissible violation of creation.  http://www.coejl.org/learn/bd_artson.php

James teaches engrafting in James 1.21. Paul teaches graphing in Romans 11:17; 19; 23-24 These are forbidden by The Holy Scriptures.

They alter what God Has Created! This is forbidden.

Dear Ones, recently I began a dialogue entitled 'Discussions About Jesus - Is Rabbi Jesus the Moshiach / the Messiah? In the course of our conversation in the video and in the written text I stated that there were mistakes in Rabbi Jesus genealogy. One purpose in sharing this information is to show SERIOUS MISTAKES what Christians call The New Testament. This is Spurious and inauthentic. Why?

Christians and Christian Messianic's claims the Lord God replaced the Hebrew Scriptures which they [Christians] refer to as 'The Old Testament'. This is claim is entirely BOGUS! Let me explain why.

In the video 'Discussions About Jesus - Is Rabbi Jesus the Moshiach / the Messiah? I mentioned that in the book entitled Introduction To The Bible by Dr. Norman L. Geisler and Dr. William Nix published by Mody Press [A Christian Publisher]. On page 361 they discuss what they call variants which is a fancy word for ERRORS!  They say that if there 200,000 variants in the 'existing manuscripts' ... One of the problems is the term 'existing manuscripts' Christians have no original manuscripts.  Christians were careless when copying their texts. This is evident by the existing manuscripts they do have. Dr. Norman L. Geisler and Dr. William Nix write 'if one single word is misspelled in 3,000 different manuscripts this is counted as 3,000 variants...' How convenient!

Christian Pastors, Evangelists and Scholars how can you claim what you call The New Testament to be Divinely Inspired? How dare you!! You preach from your pulpits that God's Word is perfect which is true then you claim the New Testament is God's Word! This is Man-made and untruthful!! Scholars omit and hide words in translations. I discuss this in my book God's Plan From The Beginning. God Willing my book, God's Plan From The Beginning will be published soon.

Let's PROPERLY discuss the intended meaning of the terms Scriptures as used in The Foreign Testament. EVERY REFERENCE TO 'SCRIPTURES' in The Foreign Testament is ONLY in reference to the Hebrew Scriptures! I challenge you to dispute this! When Rabbi Paul wrote to his 'Beloved Son', Timothy saying. 'All Scripture is Given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness his reference to Scripture was ONLY to The Hebrew Scriptures!  There was no Christian Cannon at that time.  The formation of a Christian cannon did not exist! So please stop misrepresenting the intent.

You falsely claim that Jeremiah's reference to a new covenant in Jeremiah 31.31 is your present day The New Testament. This is taradiddle!

Psalms 19.

The Torah of The Lord is PERFECT, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the Commandment of The Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of The Lord is clean, enduring for ever; the judgments of The Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even very fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned; and in keeping of them there is great reward.

You change the meaning of the Scripture by writing 'Law' instead of The Torah. Does Torah mean Law? Yes! In this instance and in most other Torah means much more than the Law. Torah means the Law within the Five Books known as Ha Torah! The Torah is Bereisheit / Genesis, Shemot / Exodus, Vayikra / Leviticus, BaMidbar / Numbers and Devarim / Deuteronomy. To translate Torah as Law is a misrepresentation of the Truth. This is deception! David is saying the Five Books are Perfect! There are no errors! King David is right.

Think about this.

Why would the Lord God replace The Perfect Torah with the error filled mistake ridden contradictive book Christians call The New Testament? The Lord God would not! Variants are not permitted in a Divinely Inspired book! I have shown numerous errors like Matthew 1.17 Matthew writes there are fourteen generations from the carrying into Babylon until Rabbi Jesus birth. I have shown there are five missing names in the genealogy Matthew wrote in Matthew 1.

Rabbi Jesus Genealogy Chart

This is an error beyond those mentioned in Introduction to the Bible. Matthew says 'Now the first day of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, asking him where do you want us to prepare thePassover meal? Matthew 26:17. And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them. They prepared the Passover Sedar. Now when the eve was come Jesus sat down with the twelve. Matthew 26:19 - 20 Mark makes sure that we understand that this was in fact just before the Passover. Mark says, And the firs day of unleavened bread, when they killed the Passover Lamb, his disciples asked him Where do you want us to prepare the Passover Sedar? Mark14:17 The Passover Lamb is killed in the evening between sundown and nightfall at the very end of the 14th day of the first month. At nightfall the day changed from the 14th to the 15th.  At nightfall the Passover Sedar began. Mark continues, 'And in the evening he came with the twelve. And he did eat... Mark 14:17 - 18. Luke offers a similar story. Now John contradicts Matthew, Mark and Luke.  He writes, Now BEFORE the feast of the Passover... This is what Christians refer to as The Last Super.  Matthew, Mark and Luke say it was the evening of Passover. Joh contradicts them saying this was before the Festival of the Passover. Read the stories all are about the judgment and death of Rabbi Jesus.  It is because of mistakes like the that I reference what Christians call The New Testament as The Foreign Testament.

Can you recognize a mistake when you see one?  The writer of Acts says, 'Then Joseph sent for his Father and all his relatives, threescore and fifteen souls, Acts 7:14.

Genesis 46.27

And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob, who came to Egypt, were seventy, i.e threescore and ten.

The Perfect Torah Says threescore and ten.  This is a know fact! Yet, the writer of Acts says, threescore and fifteen souls.

This is written in such a way that the mistake is difficult to find. The Genealogies in Matthew and Luke are written opposite each other.  This makes it difficult to understand.

It is because of the 150,000 to 200,000 variants and the mistakes and the contradictions that i refer to what Christians call The New Testament as The Foreign Testament.

I would also add that when Christian Messianic's attempted to translate The Foreign Testament into Hebrew and Yiddish there early editions have translation errors.

Now with regards to the claim that Jeremiah 31.31 is in reference to The New Testament. The Covenant of the Lord God is 'FOREVER'!

Genesis 17.7

And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you, and to your seed after you.

Genesis 17.13

He who is born in your house, and he who is bought with your money, must be circumcised; and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

Genesis 17.19

And God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed; and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Leviticus 27.44 - 45

And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, nor will I loathe them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am the Lord their God. But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God; I am the Lord.

Psalms 105.8 - 11

He has remembered his covenant for ever, the word which He Commanded to a thousand generations. The covenant which He Made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac; And Confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant; Saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.

Discussing the Covenant is more than just drawing a target on Jeremiah 31.31!

Yirmiyah 31.30

Behold days are coming, The Lord Uttered, and cut everything from The Aleph to The Tav of the the House of Israel and  everything from The Aleph to The Tav of the House of Judah a New Covenant.

Jeremiah 31.30 [KJV 31.31]

Behold, the days come, says The Lord, that I Will Make a renewed Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah;

The Covenant was not with the Christians in the church in Roman [Romans], The Covenant was not with the Christians in the church in Corinth, Greece [1,2 Corinthians]. The Covenant was not with the Christians in the Church in Galatia a former province of Rome which is present day Turkey, [Galatians], The Covenant is not with the Christians in the church in Ephesus which is present day Turkey [Ephesians], The Covenant is not with the Christians in the church in Philippi [a suburb of Rome], The Covenant is not with the Christians in the church in Colosse which is present day Turkey [ Colossians], The Covenant is not with the Christians in the church in Thessalonica a port city in present day Greece [1,2 Thessalonians], The Covenant is not with Titus, Philemon and Timothy who each were Christians not of the House of Israel.

The point is  The Lord Said,  'I Will Make a renewed Covenant with The House of Israel, and with The House of Judah.' The Christian New Testament is clearly not the House of Israel or the House of Judah. These are Christians. The Covenant of The Lord God is the descendants of Abraham.  Suggesting that The Christian New Testament replaces The Covenant with The People of Israel is defamation of the Truth in The Scriptures!!

Jeremiah 31.31 [KJV 31.32]

Not according to The Covenant that I Made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; my covenant which they broke, although I was their master, Says The Lord;

Jeremiah clearly identifies a bond and a relationship with 'their fathers' who were delivered from slavery in Egypt. Do you understand that the descendants identified above are not from The House of Israel or Judah and were not delivered from bondage in Egypt?

Jeremiah 31.32 [KJV 31.33

But this shall be The Covenant that I will make with The House of Israel; After those days, Says The Lord, I will put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people. The Lord God is going to Write The Torah  that we have today on the hearts of The People of Israel NOT the christian New Testament!!

Remember Christians use the Word Law for The Torah. - This is what really ZAPS ME... Lets review this hypocritical claim by Christians.

KJV

Jeremiah 31.33

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days says the Lord, I will put my law in their inward  parts and write [The Law] in their hearts; and will be their God and they shall be my people.

Here is the ZAP. Christians say the Old Testament is done away with. They say The Old Testament has been replaced with The New Testament. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SAYING!!  They say the foundation for The New Testament is Jeremiah 31.31. Yet the passages in Jeremiah 31 describe the 'New Covenant' as The Lord God writing 'The Law' on the hearts of the House of Israel. In other Words The New Covenant is The Law that Christians openly protest and despise. Christians teach they are not under the law.

For sin shall not have dominion over you because you are not under the law, Romans 6:14.

This is a lie! Rabbi Paul knew better. He taught Christians they are not under Ha Torah, i.e. The Law but you are. Everyone is. What do you think the Law is?

The Law Teaches do not kill.

Do not steal.

Honor your mother and father.

We should love The Lord our Gods with all your heart.

We should not take the Name of the Lord God in vain.

The Law teaches tithing.

The Law Teaches respect.

The Law Teaches morality.

The Law Teaches a man should not lay with a man like one lays with his wife.

The Law teaches one should be fair in judgment.

The law teaches kindness to animals.

Yet, Christians Pastors and Evangelists and scholars teach you are not under the law. This is absurd!

Exodus 25.1 - 8

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the people of Israel, that they bring me an offering; from every man that gives it willingly with his heart you shall take my offering. And this is the offering which you shall take from them; gold, and silver, and bronze, And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, And rams' skins dyed red, and goats' skins, and shittim wood, Oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil, and for sweet incense, Onyx stones, and stones to be set on the ephod, and on the breastplate. And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

Some years ago several rabbium, and I founded and operated a non profit program. We solicited new and used gifts from our community. The organization gave the gifts to Jewish educational institutions that needed them, sold others gifts to raise funds for Jewish education and discarded the unusables. We were paid for bulk clothing and shoes etc. One day we were having a yard sale. Many items were on display, including a dozen or so bikes in very rough condition. A middle aged man seemed to be taking an interest in these bikes. A few of us noticed. We thought maybe he was a bike dealer. After a while I approached him to begin a conversation. The first words out of his mouth were, 'It's amazing what junk some people will give to a non profit organization.'

Over the years I have experienced and shared many humorous and sad stories. I cannot count the times someone has said to me, 'Akiva, it's amazing the discards people try to pawn off on non profits.'

It is one thing to give away a useless piece of discarded junk and an entirely different matter to give away a priceless, warm, special treasure that happily lives in your home or office.

This week's parshat is saying only certain things belong in God's House. Only certain chosen items can live in the Mishkon. Other items cannot connect or attach to what is designated as Holy, as Separated for the Mishkon and its purpose and its service.

Now this is a problem for some of us. We struggle understanding the designation of HOLY or SEPARATED! In Judaism we have many categories that The Lord has said are Holy and that The Lord has Separated. It is unfortunate when we fail to comprehend the elevated status of these items. In Judaism we take certain mundane items, things, articles, clothing, seforim, places, animals, birds, fish, people; and we separate them and bless them. These items become Holy! They become Sanctified to The Lord.

We are suppose to have a standard in Judaism. The Lord is the architect, the general contractor, the purchasing agent, the builder and the inspector. He determines how things are done. This week's parshat relates the material for the construction of the Mishkon along with the exact construction details.

ONLY CERTAIN MATERIALS are usable in the Mishkon. PERIOD! These materials were selected by God! They are the only ones that can be used! In Judaism things are done a certain way. Judaism is NOT one of these flexible mix and match kinds of religions! The same God who said ONLY THESE ITEMS CAN BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MISHKON IS THE SAME GOD WHO DEFINED JUDAISM!

God set a standard for Jews to live by and that is what we had better do! If we want God to live in our house then it has to have the material that God has prescribed. It has to be built according to God's directions. God will not live in a house built with unsanctified materials. God will not live in a house constructed in a way other than He has directed. This is one of many reasons why intermarriage is SO VERY WRONG FOR THE JEW! It's a mix and match of materials! God cannot sanctify the relationship! IT IS WRONG!

There was an individual who was employed to work on a particular project. He was the purchasing agent for this project. His responsibility was to acquire the material according to the required specifications. Years later that structure developed problems. An investigation was made. The investigator determined that the purchasing agent ordered an inferior product, a product not acceptable according to the required specifications. This man was terminated from that company and held responsible for his actions. Why is it that we can understand this, but we cannot understand
God's instruction?

There was another man who was a general contractor on a project. He was responsible for building a custom home. He modified a room from the original plans by just six inches without telling anyone. He saved thousands of dollars because of his modification. This modification was not discovered until the owners were moving in. Their grand piano would not properly fit in its designated area. Why? A special area, a balcony overlooking the front room lounge designed just for this very expensive and impressive piano was modified. Can you imagine the frustration? Can you imagine the problem? The custom home was perfect except for... Years went into the planning and now...

Dear reader, God has made a plan that He expects to be followed. Our junky discards are unusable and unacceptable. God requires men and women with a GENEROUS HEART, people who will follow His instructions. God wants people who will not attempt any substitutions or modifications. Modifications by men and women will NOT WORK in God's plan. Otherwise they are no longer God's Plans.

Dear Reader this was a problem for Cain, the son of Adam and Eve. He brought spoiled flax seed as an offering. His offering was rejected. He was angry with God because his offering was rejected. Is this what we want? Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 144

תְּרוּמָה

Terumah means donation, a portion set aside

ת400 ר200 ו6 מ40 ה5 = 651

Terumah - With the Terumah we cannot give away everything. - We can only a portion. God's Command to contribute to building the Mishkan even precedes His Command to actually build the Mishkan.

Each gift that was brought to build the Mishkan elevated this world. Each gift of myself that I bring to The Lord elevates a spark of creation.

Silver was used to build the framework of the Mishkan. Silver as we all know has dross and has to be refined. So we refine the silver. We remove the impurities. It must be done His way. We want a Mishkan that is useable. We want a Mishkan where He can and will Dwell.

אִמְרָתִי

Ee Mih Raw Tee = Listen to my words

א1 מ40 ר200 ת400 י10 = 651

When we do want we want who is in charge? This is perhaps like following one of the many religions in the world. Our goal should be to obey the Commands of the Creator and to stop listening to the religions of the world.

Giving with a GENEROUS HEART is important. Giving a useable gift is also very important. God has specified what He can use. What does God need from us?

Dear Reader, what happens when an Angel comes to visit? It depends. What will the Angel see? What will the Angel Observe? Our discussion begins with two Angels visiting Sedom.

Bereisheit 19.1

Genesis 19.1

And they came, the two Malachim to Sedom in the evening and Lot sat in [the] Gate [of judgment] [in] Sedom and he Lot saw and he arose and he called to them and he bowed his face [anger] to the ground.

הַמַּלְאָכִים

The Word Malachim is one of three occurrences in Ha Torah. Malachim means Angels. The Letter ה Hey which is before Malachim represents an article meaning The Malachim. Which Angels? You know, 'The Angels'. This is like everyone knows them. They are the Angels that guarded Yaakov. See Bereisheit 32.7 Regarding the Malachim, Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 628

One Angel was Michael who was sent to inform of Sarah's conception, Gavriel to Judge Sedom and Raphael to heal Avraham. Raphael would be assigned another mission after completing his. He was sent to save Lot.

בָּעֶרֶב

The Angels came in the evening. It was near the time for a new day to begin... Twilight. The end of one day and the beginning of another.

סְדֹמָה בָּעֶרֶב

As the sun set, a new day was approaching in Sedom. The way of living in Sedom was going to change with the onset of a new day...

וְלוֹט יֹשֵׁב בְּשַׁעַר־סְדֹם

And Lot sat in [the] Gate [of judgment] [in] Sedom

This was Lot's first day as a Judge according to our Sages. Sedom has a righteous judge one day and Divine Judgment Descends upon their sinfulness. Notice the second Word, ישב meaning 'sat'. Yoh Shayv normally is spelled with the Letter ו Vav יושב. When Yoh Shayv is spelled correctly, i.e. with the Letter Vav added the meaning changes to 'was sitting'. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 677

וַיָּבֹאוּ שְׁנֵי הַמַּלְאָכִים סְדֹמָה

And they came, the two Malachim to Sedom

Notice the Gematria.

Shemot 22.8

Exodus 22.8

For every kind of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for garment, or for any kind of lost thing, which another challenges to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double to his neighbor.

Why did the two Angels come to Sedom? To condemn their evil acts of sin and to bring justice / Judgment...

יַרְשִׁיעֻן

Shall Condemn

י10 ר200 ש300 י10 ע70 ן50 = 640

The people of Sedom were Noachides who were rebellious to the Seven Laws of Ha Torah. They were wayward. They were unruly. They were mutinous.

Shemot 23.21

Exodus 23.21

Take heed of him, and obey his voice, Do not rebel; for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My Name is in him.

The people of Sedom were rebellious towards God.

אַל־תַּמֵּר

To Rebel

ת400 מ40 ר200 = 640

Devarim 12.29

כִּי־יַכְרִית יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶת־הַגּוֹיִם

Deuteronomy 12.29

For The Lord your God Shall cut off, i.e. eliminate the nations from before you, where you go to dispossess them, and live in their land;

The sins of Sedom were great. There were no righteous people left after Lot's relatives were removed. These perverse Noachides were removed.

יַכְרִית

To Eliminate

י10 כ20 ר200 י10 ת400 = 640

What is the point? Mystically the first four Words Speak of the coming Judgment for the sinful people and speak of their rebellion of the judgment and of their elimination...

וַיָּבֹאוּ שְׁנֵי הַמַּלְאָכִים סְדֹמָה

And they came, the two Malachim to Sedom

Tehillim 91.11:

כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה־לָּךְ לִשְׁמָרְךָ

1:1 בְּכָל־דְּרָכֶיךָ

Psalms 91.11

For his angels Have Command to go to guard you in all your ways. This means the Angels have the Orders, the Commands, to do whatever is necessary to guard us, to correct us if our way is wrong.

Mystically we observe the fate of the people of Sedom. They rebelled. They were condemned. They were eliminated. This means their names were removed from the Book of Life. They will be remembered no more. May each of us be careful to walk in the path that does not require this type of correction.

All of Lot's children and grand children were lost... destroyed except his two youngest daughters. A pillar of salt marks the area outside of Sedom where his wife turned to look back. One has to ask, what mother would not look back for one final view of where her children and grand children lived?

Salt is placed upon raw meet to draw out the blood. Salt is a preservative. Salt is a seasoning that enhances the flavor of meat, bread and other foods. When our Holy Temple stood we had a Meez Beach/ a Holy Altar. We salted our sacrifices when we placed them on the Holy Altar. Today our Shulcan / Dinning Table is the Holy Altar in the Jewish home. We place salt on the table just like we did on the Holy Altar. We pray at our Table. We share The Torah Portion of the Bible at our Table.

Lot prepared unleavened bread, i.e. Matzah. This is bread without leaven. The Torah makes it very clear that Lot prepared Matzah. This is to inform us that Lot was Observant of Avraham's Teachings of kindness to strangers and of removing the chometz, i.e. the leaven during Passover.

Genesis 19.1-4

And there came two angels to Sodom at evening; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom; and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face to the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I beseech you, to your servant's house, and remain all night, and wash your feet, and you shall rise up early, and go on your way. And they said, No; we will stay in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in to him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

This was the night of Passover. Lot was honoring this night even though Passover would not happen for many years in the future. A fierce quarrel broke out over the salt, for he [Lot] said to his wife, 'Give our guests a little salt,' to which she replied, 'Do you want to introduce that evil practice here also?' Br R 50.4 We have no salt. She went to borrow salt from the neighbors. She gossiped about Lot. When Lot did not have salt for the Passover meal she went from house to house... She announced 'We have Guests' and Lot needs salt for the feast he is preparing them. Br. R 51.5

One of our Sages taught, 'Lot's wife, Eeris turned into salt because she was stingy towards the needy. Lot himself was a generous person, always inviting guests. Eeris resented guests and discouraged them. One trick of hers was not to provide salt, a small thing which makes a big difference to guests. Therefore, she was punished by means of salt, measure for measure.

Salt is a preservative that was missing in Lot's home. Salt was missing because of a rebellious wife. Eeris was condemned and eliminated for her actions. She embraced wickedness! She was not participating in the elimination of chametz / leaven from their home. She was not assisting with the Passover meal. She understood the custom of Passover from living near Abraham and his followers. Still she spoke out against Lot among her neighbors. Eeris considered the custom of offering salt with bread evil. The Midrash Says Eeris looked back because of her two older daughters and as a punishment she was turned into a pillar of salt. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p 177

Exodus 28.3

And you speak to all wise of heart Them that are completely filled with the Spirit of Wisdom And they shall make everything from Aleph to Tav of the clothes for Aaron To sanctify [to serve] as a Priest to Me.

Shemot / Exodus 19.6

And you shall be to Me a Kingdom of Priests And a sanctified nation These are the Words that you shall say to B'nei Israel.

The purpose for comparing is to point out that just as the Kohan Gadol and the Kohanim are sanctified through clothing as stated in Shemot 28.3 so is every Jew because we are a kingdom of Priests to the entire world. There are several points to consider.

First is that Kal Israel is sanctified through clothing just as the Kohan Gadol and the Kohanim are. Our sanctified clothing is different from theirs.

Second is the concept of making sanctified clothing. Ha Torah Says, 'And they shall make everything from Aleph to Tav of the clothes for Aaron'. What does this mean? It means there is a plan, a pattern to follow and there is a goal. How does this apply to us? Are we to wear clothing like the Kohan Gadol or the Kohanim? What is the point?

The point is clothing is sanctified. Marriage is sanctified. Israel is sanctified. The Kohanim are sanctified. The Kohan Gadol is sanctified. Each of these are sanctified through clothing. One of the keys is 'speak to all wise of heart'. It is important to have direction with the clothes we cover ourselves with. Another point is that ONLY those who are completely filled with the Spirit of Wisdom can be selected to make this sanctified clothing. Making sanctified clothing require Chochmah / Wisdom and being over flowing with the Spirit of Wisdom... How many clothing designers and manufactures meet these requirements? Why are these important requirements?

Think about the importance of making Holy / Sanctified clothing. Only few have the wisdom to qualify. Why is wisdom so important? It is because those of us who are not as enlightened may make the wrong pattern or may select the wrong material. Remember we are forbidden to mix Shaatines, i.e. mix wool and linen within the same garment...

Why Jewish men should wear a Kippah and women should not...

Why Jewish men should wear a Tallit with Tzitzit and women should not...

Why our Sages Teach ladies should follow the custom of wearing a head covering... What types of head coverings...

Why our Sages Teach ladies should not wear mens clothing... What is the definition of men's clothing?

There is a point. I think the wise of heart can discuss and fully answer all questions regarding these issues. The Wise of heart are 'OVERFLOWING' with all that is necessary to answer our questions in these areas. Their answers are compelling.

Clothing is a material thing with a Spiritual purpose. When HaTorah Says these are the clothes you shall make we can begin to understand material things are sanctified for holy purposes...

Exodus 28.4

And these, the Clothes that he shall make:

Breast plate

and a Eiphod

and a robe

and a checkered undershirt

a turban

a sash-belt

And make sanctified garments For Aharon you brother And for the sons to serve Me as Priests.

Exodus 31.10

And everything from Aleph to Tav of the clothing of the service And everything from Aleph to Tav of the sanctified clothing for Aharon the Priest And everything from Aleph to Tav of the clothing the sons for Priests

Shemot / Exodus 28.5

And he, Moses went down from the Mountain To the people [B'nei Israel] And sanctified everything from Aleph to Tav of the people And they immersed [themselves] and their clothing

Bereisheit / Genesis 35.2

And Jacob said to his household And to all the people with him Get rid of everything from Aleph to Tav of these the foreign gods in your midst Purify yourselves and change your garments.

Yisaiah / Isaiah 61.3

To appoint to them that mourn in Tzion To give to them Beauty instead of dust / ashes Oil for Joy instead of mourning The Garment Mantel of Praise instead of the spirit of heaviness And to call themselves Leaders of the Righteousness who are planted by The Lord for Beauty / Glory.

בֶגֶד Beged, meaning Garment has the exact same letters as בָּגָד bagad, meaning to betray, to deceive. The difference is how clothing is designed and how clothing is worn.

My wife Brachah Rivkah says,

There is a physical function of clothing and a spiritual function of clothing.

Clothing can be a distraction.

Clothing is intended to be Spiritual.

Our clothes show how we Honor and Glorify The Lord.

Our clothing communicates messages to the world.

What message am I sending?

Marriage Clothing

A wife gives her husband a Tallit to wear during prayers this is a special sign that to many means he is married. This depends upon the custom. However the point is he covers himself with the cloth garment his wife has prepared or purchased for him. He secludes himself within the Tallit. He communes with the Creator within the Tallit. It is like the tallit is a garment that wraps around their marriage.

Adam and Chavah were enwrapped by the Glory of our Creator. This means they were in the center of Tiferet / Beauty. Adam was not on the left and Chavah was not on the right. They were in the exact center. This is the Spiritual place for marriage. This is correct. Spiritual attraction is the greatest. Physical attraction may draw us to an individual. Spiritual attraction is what keeps spouses engaged and in love with each other. Adam and Chavah were in the center of God's Glory. When they departed the center of God Glory is when each sinned. When they sinned they were outside of Tiferet...

The clothing of the kohanim and kohen gadol are called begadim.

The kohen gadol's primary function was to provide atonement. Each piece of his clothing provided atonement for specific sins. [See Exodus 28.4]

Only Aaron's garments are composed of blue, purple, scarlet, gold and twined thread. These are the same materials that comprise the curtains of the Mishkan.

On the Kohen Gadol's forehead was a plate engraved saying Holy to the Almighty. Ramban Says that the commandment to dress the High Priest in garments for glory (kavod) and splendor (tiferet) is not only to enhance the status of the priest himself, but also to enhance the Glory of God.

לְכַהֲנוֹ־לִי

To Serve Me

ל30 כ20 ה5 נ50 ו6 ל30 י10 = 151

These Words are rare. לְכַהֲנוֹ־לִי Lee Chah Hah No - Lee, - To Be A Priest to Me To Serve Me occurs only three times in the Torah Portion of the Bible. אָקִים Aw Keem, - I will Establish occurs only twice in the Torah portion of the Bible. In the first, לְכַהֲנוֹ־לִי our Creator is Saying the office of High Priest is for the purpose of serving Me. In the second Word, אָקִים the Creator 'Established' the Covenant with Yitzchok / Isaac and the Office of Prophet.

Chapter 20 - Where Torah does Not Exist

Bereisheit 20.1 - 18

Dear Reader, have you asked yourself one of the following questions?

Am I normal?

Do I see things differently than others?

Am I different?

What makes me different?

Do my co-workers see me as being strange or odd?

Awhile back I chose to become part of a 501 c 3 organization that helps the community. This was not a religious organization. They are known for doing a lot of good yet it is a crusty place to visit... It smells awful. My first visit was uncomfortable. They do a lot of things I have no interest in. I looked around. It was clear I was different. What made me different? Why did I feel uncomfortable? Why did this organization that has helped so many down through the years make me feel entirely out of place?

Reader can you identify?

Do you work in a place that is not comfortable? Do you attend a school that is not comfortable? Do you live in a home which is not comfortable?

My wife, Revi arrived home after school one afternoon to find her clothes in a single box on the front porch. Can we imagine what it must of felt like for a sixteen year old woman to be tossed out of the family home. How did the most precious of places become such a place of pain?

Dear Reader, we look at our home as a place of safety from the world where those around us tenderly love us, support us, nurture us and encourage us. Our home is supposed to be a safety net, God Willing, a place where we can get away from the world. Unfortunately one's home can be changed into a very undesirable place quickly.

It was 8:00 am in the morning. It was time to report to work. I was a little early. Shortly after entering the large manufacturing building while walking towards the time clock a fellow worker cut me off. He got in front of me. He said what are you doing here?

I responded, I'am preparing to punch my time card and begin working.

He said, You don't work here any more.

I inquired, Why?

He said something like, We don't want any dirty Jews around here!!

Shortly after the conversation began about a dozen men from that company surrounded me. I was in the center of a circle that formed. They began terrorizing me. It happened so fast. It felt like they were about to hurt me when the owner of the company came rushing out of his office ordering them to halt. He took me back into the office and said, You cannot work here! File a law suit if you will. I will pay it but you cannot work here. File for unemployment, I will pay it but you cannot work here. What happened? They found out I was Jewish...

Dear Ones there may be times throughout our lives where we will be forced to operate in areas where we may feel uncomfortable. Will we be required to interact outside of our comfort zone?

Avraham was placed in a situation where he was forced to interact and associate with the people of Gerar. He was new to the area. Things got off to a rugged start. It was very uncomfortable for he and Sarah and their followers. Lets define why it was challenging. Our Sages say that Avraham moved because He saw the cities of Sedom were destroyed and travelers ceased from passing by. In addition, Avraham chose to distance himself from Lot who had acquired a bad reputation because he was incestuous with his daughters.

Genesis 20.1-9

And Abraham journeyed from there toward the Negev, and lived between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister; and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God Came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, you are but a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken; for she is a man's wife. But Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, Lord, will you slay also a righteous nation? Said he not to me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother; in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this. And God Said to him in a dream, Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart; for I also kept you from sinning against me; therefore I did not let you touch her. Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a Prophet, and he shall pray for you, and you shall live; and if you restore her not, know you that you shall surely die, you, and all who are yours. Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears; and the men were very afraid. Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, What have you done to us? And in what have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done.

Bereisheit 20.10

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲבִימֶלֶךְ אֶל־אַבְרָהָם מָה רָאִיתָ כִּי עָשִׂיתָ אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה1:1

And Abimelech said to Abraham, What did you see, that you have done this thing?

Bereisheit 20.11

And Abraham Said, Because I Said, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.

Within our world we do business with and interact with people we may choose not to associate with. Abraham was placed in a situation like this when the King of Gerar took his wife, Sarah. What would you do if placed in the same situation?

Let's first remember that Avraham was a Prophet. This means Avraham had Visions and Dreams. This means Avraham spoke Words from God. We read in Ha Torah that Avraham Said.

וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָהָם כִּי אָמַרְתִּי

Many translations use the Word 'thought' as in I thought Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.

However Avraham was a Prophet. Avraham didn't just think the Fear of God is not in this place. Avraham Saw through a Vision that the Fear of God was not in this place. The Word אָמַרְתִּי normally means to say. One must ask was Avraham attempting to be politically correct here, when he spoke with King Abimelech? I don't think so! Avraham condemned the king because as a Prophet he Saw the Fear of God was absent. He took actions because of his Vision. Sarah did like wise. Sarah agreed with her husbands Vision. Sarah had a Vision. Sarah could see what an evil man Abimelech was. Our Sages reveal a discussion between our Creator and Abimelech which is not mentioned in Ha Torah.

After the destruction of Sedom, Abraham again changed his residence, moving his tent from Chevron to the Philistine city of Gerar. For what reasons did Abraham leave Charon?

1, Abraham was forced to forsake his old neighborhood because rumors of Lot's actions with his daughters were circulating. Lot's bad reputation also reflected in Avraham who was Lot's uncle. Avraham, afraid of a Chiluil The Lord, [profanation of the Divine Name] decided therefore to settle in a different place. 141

2. [Abraham's] overwhelming desire to perform kindness made him seek guests constantly. After the destruction of Sedom the roads in that area were deserted. Avraham consequently returned to Gerar where there would be wayfarers for him to serve.142

Avraham knew the people living in Gerar were not God fearing. As a result for safety reasons, he called himself Sarah's brother, like he did in Egypt. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York:  Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p. 180

The Midrash informs us that once Sarah was forcibly taken to Abimelech's palace she told him, 'I am a married woman!' Avimelech ignored Sarah but the Lord sent the Angel Michael to protect her. He could not even approach Sarah.

The Lord Spoke to Abimelech in a dream Saying, 'The woman you took to your palace is married! As a result you deserve to die according to the Seven Noachide Laws. Avimelech objected. He claimed to be righteous.

The All Seeing Eternal Judge Said, Your claim to righteousness is not justified, since it was I who Prevented you from touching her... You are deserving of death! You kidnapped Sarah! Stealing is a prohibition of the Noachide Law of 'robbery' in the Ha Torah. Now, return this woman to her husband at once! Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York:  Benei Yakov Publications 1980), pp 180 - 181

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲבִימֶלֶךְ אֶל־אַבְרָהָם מָה רָאִית כִּי עָשִׂיתָ אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה

[What Do You] See?

רָאִיתָ

ר200 א1 י10 ת400 ‫=611

As a Prophet Avraham Saw an absence of Torah Observances. Avraham Saw an absence of righteousness. When the Observances of Ha Torah are absent from our world our world is NOT the place our Creator Intended it to be!!

The Words Avimelech asked Abraham are 'What do you see?' Mystically the Words ask, 'Do you see Torah? Do you see [anyone] Observing the Torah?' The answer is no!

Torah

תוֹרָה

ת400 ו6 ר200 ה5 = 611

Each of us are required to Observe various Commands within Ha Torah. It does not matter if we are Jewish or not. Why? Our Creator Established His Will and His Rule for this World, He Created it. His Will and His Rule remains the same today as when He Created this Universe. His Will includes joining Him in Heaven after our life on this earth is concluded. His Will is for us to IMPROVE as individuals.

So if the home place does not Observe Torah the Home place is a scary place to be. If the Work place does not Observe Ha Torah the Work Place is a frightening place to be. God Teaches us Seven Laws to follow and to Observe that makes every place a good happy loving wonderful place to live.

As In The Days Of Noah, REALLY!

In my book God's Plan From The Beginning, I share this story. A few years back the Revi and I were on an interstate traveling. Our auto began to shiver and shake. The car would slow down then speed up. We were frightened. We were worried. We began to pray. The nearest average size town was over 50 miles away. Our car was over 15 years old. We tried to keep it up. We spent over $1,500 on maintenance and repairs in the preceding months. Regardless of our dedicated maintenance efforts our car was nearing the end. We knew this. Little did we know this would be the day when we said the traveler's prayer that morning. As we prayed, our car chugged a few times like a charging dog that would charge and stop then charge again. Our car slowed to perhaps 25 miles per hour on the interstate. The car chugged a couple more times then stopped running. We coasted to the side of the road. We were two seniors sitting in a broken down car at the side of the road. We checked to see if we had cell phone service. Revi called her son Anthony who is a mechanic. We knew we were in trouble. There was nothing he could do. He was willing to grab some tools, jump in his truck and drive to us immediately, but it would be hours before he could get to us. We are seniors, and we were very shaken by this incident. It was dangerous sitting at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. We asked The Creator to start our auto and allow us to make it to an exit ramp where we would feel safer. Revi turned the key. The car started. It would only go about 25 miles per hour. Thank God. The car chugged along for maybe a mile or two until we reached an off ramp. As we approached the stop sign at the top of the ramp, the car died. We were able to coast safely into the parking area of a gas station where we called a tow truck. When the tow truck driver arrived about an hour and a half later, he pointed out the oil trail our blown engine left on the pavement. He towed us to a dealership where we were able to make a deal for a new vehicle.

The salesman said our new auto would get about 26 miles per gallon in the city and about 30 miles per gallon on the highway. After the car had a few thousand miles, we began to check our in city driving and our highway driving. Why did we do this? It was to verify the accuracy of the salesman statement.

A while back I went for a walk. The route is a common walking route for neighbors. High school kids run this route after school. As I finished my walk, I was calculating the distance of the walk to be between 1.25 miles to 1.5 miles. At the end of the walk, I passed by a neighbor's house. The neighbor was outside. We talked a little while. My neighbor said that the route was a mile. Later I drove the route. Why did I do this? It was to verify the accuracy of my neighbor's statement.

There are some things we can verify if we choose to do so. I would like to ask you to verify everything I am about to share with you. Please check out the references. Please research every detail if you want to know The Truth.

Do you want to know if the Christian New Testament is really the Foreign Testament? Do you want to know if the Christian New Testament is Divinely Inspired? Do you want to know if Rabbi Jesus was truthful? Do you want to know if Rabbi Jesus spoke falsehoods? Do you want to know if Rabbi Jesus sinned? Do you want to know God's Plan From The Beginning?

Do you want to know the Truth?

Dear Reader we are going to do a VERY BASIC study that anyone can do. One does not have to be a scholar to know the Truth. Each of us can see... read... understand the text in this discussion.

In America, when an individual is a candidate for President of the United States of America they make many speeches. They travel in huge jets, on trains, on buses in limos, etc. and make speech after speech. Often what they say comes into question. Are they accurately stating the facts? Are they 100% truthful? Are they saying one thing here and something different somewhere else? Some business people began a website called factcheck.org. The purpose was to show when a candidate told The Truth from when they didn't. That is what our goal is here in Chapter 24 of Matthew. We are going to ask simply if Rabbi Jesus was Truthful or did Rabbi Jesus lie. You will be the jury. You will decide based upon the information provided.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Matthew 24:37

Matthew 24:27 Rabbi Jesus said, "For as lightning comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man be." Jesus also said that just "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For as [it was] in the days [of Noah] before the flood [the people then] were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." Matthew 24:37-39

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. Luke 17:26

People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:27

Rabbi Jesus went out, and departed from the Holy Temple: and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the Temple. And Rabbi Jesus said to them, 'Do you see you all these things? Verily I say to you, 'There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.' And as he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, asking,

'Tell us, when shall these things be? What shall be the sign of your coming? When will the end of the world be?' Matthew 24:3

Rabbi Jesus answered, 'Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am [the Messiah]; and shall deceive many. And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. Do not be troubled! All these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you ]the Jewish People] up to be afflicted, and shall kill you and you [the Jewish People] shall be hated by all nations for my name's sake. And then many of you shall be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come. Therefore, when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in The Holy Place, (whoever reads, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! Pray your your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath Day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is [here is the Messiah], or there; don't believe it. For there shall arise false [Messiah's], and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. [27] For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh: So likewise you will know when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing. Verily I say to you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he does look not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew states that Rabbi Jesus said the following: 'But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the Angels in the Heavens. Only my Father knows. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark. They did not know until the flood came and washed them all away, so it will happen the same way for the coming of the son of man.' Matthew 24:36-39.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man, Luke 17:26.

People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all, Luke 17:27.

As we consider these three quotes, we will discuss a variety of issues posed by these quotes. A number of questions immediately surface beyond the possible accuracy of what Matthew and Luke claim Rabbi Jesus said. Fortunately, we are blessed with additional sources to consider the historical evidence.

We can research what Rabbi Jesus said for accuracy. We are going to do this. It's not difficult to know the Truth!

One must research The Holy Scriptures to see if Rabbi Jesus is in agreement with what The Lord God Commanded. Study what happened in Noah's time. Determine if Rabbi Jesus comments are truthful. Research Rabbi Jesus comments. We should have some serious concerns about his claims.

I will prove NOTHING could be further from the truth. Why would a God of Love destroy a world where the inhabitants were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage? After all, The Lord God Commanded us to marry and to have children in Genesis.

Genesis 1.28

And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

God would not!! Our Creator said to Adam and Eve that they could eat from every tree in The Garden except the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil

Genesis 2.16-17

And the Lord God Commanded [Adam and Eve] Saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it; for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.

What is the point? Eating and drinking are not the issue. Fruit and grains are not prohibited to Adam and Eve. The exception was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Genesis 1.29

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, on which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

So making wine or other strong drinks are not prohibited. The Lord Gave Adam and his descendants the right to consume all products grown from the earth. That being the situation eating and drinking were not forbidden. Eating and drinking were fine. So there was nothing wrong or sinful with the people who were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage. Why were they destroyed? Why did Rabbi Jesus' use this as an example to imply they were doing something wrong? Why did he imply that eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage was the reason for the so called sudden destruction of the world?

Rabbi Jesus gave the impression that the people in the future who eat, drink, marry and giving in marriage will be destroyed without warning. Was this his intention? Was Rabbi Jesus saying people who live normal lives of eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage would be destroyed without prior warning? He said, it would happen as swiftly as lightning shooting across the sky from one end to the other. Rabbi Jesus implied that his coming would be swift! Let's consider a few important points. What were the people in Noah's day doing?

First, The Creator Forbids worshipping idols. Genesis 4.26 states, men began to call [idols] by the Name of The Lord. Our Sages point to the meaning of The Word הוּחַל Hu Charla that is related to חולין Chu Lin meaning to profane. They were worshipping idols!

Bereisheit 4.26

Genesis 4.26

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son, and he called his name Enosh; it was then men began to call [idols] by the name of The Lord.

Second, We observe in Genesis 6.3 that The Lord Said in mercy, 'My Spirit shall not continue to judge [these evil] men forever. He is flesh...' The Holy Scriptures credit this comment to the Merciful Attribute of The Lord. The Lord in His Mercy is saying man has become so very evil that He cannot continue to look away from man's evil... man's sin... Man is NOT Spiritual any longer... man is only flesh... Then The Lord Said, '...his days will be a hundred and twenty years.'

Bereisheit 6.3

Genesis 6.3

And He, The Lord Said, My Spirit shall not [continue to] Judge [the descendants of] Adam forever. Moreover, He is flesh. And it happened his days are one hundred and twenty years.

Third, we observe a sinful mixture of seed. Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin comments, regarding The B'nai Elohim {the sons of God / the angels of God} in Genesis 6.2. He states that they are the Nephilim meaning the fallen of Genesis 6.4. The Holy Scriptures states that the sons of God... that the Nephilim... that the angels had relations with the daughters of man, and this result was abnormal beings, giants. The Holy Scriptures Teaches against mixing seed. Observe what The Lord Commanded from the very beginning. The fallen angels rebelled against The Lord... Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin, Insights In The Torah - Bereishis (Brooklyn, NY: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. First Edition, 1991), pp. 44 - 46

Genesis 1.11-12

And God Said, Let the earth bring forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth, and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1.24

And God Said, Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

Genesis 1.25

And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Noah and his grandfather, Mesushelach taught against interrelationships with the Nephilim. Many people of the earth heeded their instruction. The results were the Nephilim forcibly took the wives and daughters of those who heeded their message of religious purity. Eventually the entire world was corrupted by vile sin. Stealing was the root of the problem. Men stole everything. Nothing was sacred. Men stole the wives and daughters of others. The police and judges did the same. There was no justice. The Talmud, Se far HaYashar and the Drastic books discuss this subject.

Fourth, in Genesis 6.5 we observe that the Creator Saw man's wickedness increase on the earth and that his thoughts were only continually evil.

Genesis 6.5

And God Saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Fifth, God, Informs Noah He is going to destroy the entire world. That was God's last course of action. The Book of Hebrews states. 'By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to save his house; and in so doing he condemned the world.'

Peter states, God destroyed the disobedient. He stated. God was long suffering... God waited... God did not hurry to destroy the world. Noah preached righteousness. Noah warned the world... 2 Peter 2:5

'Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.' 1 Peter 3:20

'And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;' 2 Peter 2:5

Dear Reader what is the point? Rabbi Jesus description of the days of Noach is not correct. If it is not entirely true what is it?

Rabbi Jesus said. 'For as lightning comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man be,' Matthew 24.27. Rabbi Jesus said. 'As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For as [it was] in the days [of Noah], before the Flood people were eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.' Matthew 24:37-39

From these verses I get the impression that these people were just eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. They were living normal lives based on Rabbi Jesus description. They were not doing anything wrong based on what Rabbi Jesus described! So again, I ask why did they perish? Rabbi Jesus gives the impression God is ruthless when in fact God is long suffering, kind, loving and merciful!!

Dear Reader, it does not matter what Rabbi Jesus was attempting to communicate if it was untruthful. Rabbi Jesus zoomed in on what God fearing and abiding people often do. They eat, drink, marry and have children. Why didn't Rabbi Jesus say anything about idol worship, stealing, the fallen angels, kidnapping, stealing mothers, stealing wives and daughters to rape them? Why didn't Rabbi Jesus say anything about the giants that resulted from Angels impregnating the daughters of men? Why didn't he mention the sin of mixing Angelic seed with human seed, man's evil, man's continual wickedness? The point is Rabbi Jesus stated people were marrying and giving in marriage. That is about as far from the truth as it gets.

Let's continue to consider the facts. Let's consider the historical facts. Let's consider what Christians themselves have taught about this subject.

235 From Creation

First, The world Rabbi Jesus described in Matthew and Luke is inaccurate!! 1,400 years before the flood, The Holy Scriptures Stated, 'men began to call [idols] by the Name of The Lord.' Sefar HaYashar says the name Enosh means man brought pain to their souls. Enosh means serious, mortal implying seriously ill or mortally ill. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.10

365 From Creation

Second, Sefar HaYashar states that just 130 years later over 1,200 years before the flood that Keinan the son of Enosh knew God was about to destroy mankind because of THEIR SINFUL LIVES. Not because they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.10

The wives of Lemech did not bear him any more children after he killed a man. Why? 'They knew God was going to destroy the earth by a flood because of the evil and corrupt ways humankind lived. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) pp.11-12

687 From Creation

Third, Mesushelach was born 969 years before the flood. The meaning of the name מְתוּשֶׁלַח Mesushelach is recognized by scholars to mean 'death and destruction'. Our Sages point to the first two letters of מְתוּשֶׁלַח Mesushelach. They are from right to left ת Tav מ Mem. They form The Word מֵת Mayt or Met meaning death. The second word in Methuselah's name is שַׁלַּח Sheh Lah Ach means to send, to launch, to dispatch. The Letter ו Vav is between these two Words. The Vav connects Met and Sheh Lah Ach together. Met Voo Sheh Lah Ach means 'When this child dies destruction begins.'

Fourth, Peter states, 'God spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.' 2Peter 2:5 There are several points to what The Christian New Testament book of Peter states.

1.) Noah preached righteousness. Noah was a preacher of righteousness. Genesis 6.3 states that God waited 120 years.. God said in reference to the sinful people living in Noah's day, 'My Spirit shall not continue to judge [these] men forever since he is but flesh...'

Noah and Mesushelach were told by God to preach this message: Thus Says God. 'Repent of you evil ways and He Will Change His Decree against you.'

Genesis 6.3

And He, The Lord Said, My Spirit shall not [continue to] Judge [the descendants of] Adam forever. Moreover, He is flesh. And it happened his days are one hundred and twenty years.

1436 From Creation

According to Sefar Ha Yasher The Lord Required Mesushelach and Noah to preach repentance every day for 120 years leading up to the flood. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.16

Finis Jennings Dake, a Christian Bible Scholar, commentator and author states, 'God in His Mercy, Gave him [man] 120 more years in which to repent and conform his life to the will of the Creator..' Finis Jennings Dake, Dake's Annotated Reference Bible, {Lawrenceville, Georgia: Dake Bible Sales 10th printing, 1978) p 6

2.) Peter states that those that perished in the flood were ungodly. They were not a bunch of easy going nice people who were eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. They were ungodly! They were NOT righteous.

'And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;' 2 Peter 2:5

Fifth, Sefar Ha Yasher writes, five years before the flood The Lord Commanded Noah to build the ark. See Genesis 6.14. Sefar Ha Yasher says, 'After repeated warnings' to humankind God Spoke to Noah. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.18

Genesis 6.13

And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

1656 From Creation

Sixth, one week before the flood Noah and his family, are instructed to take all the animals into the Ark. Genesis 7.1-5. It was on this day that

Mesushelach died.

Genesis 7.1-6

And the Lord said to Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast, you shall take to you seven pairs, the male and his female; and of beasts that are not clean one pair, the male, and his female. Of birds also of the air by seven pairs, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For in another seven days, I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. And Noah were six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

What is the point?

Rabbi Jesus said, 'And they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. So shall also the coming of the coming of the Son of Man will be.' Matthew 24:39.

I have chronologically shown that the people living in Noah's time were warned of what was about to transpire. Especially the last 120 years when Noah was preaching. Then the completion of the Ark with the animals being gathered into the Ark and the death of Mesushelach. Then Noah and his family entering the ark. There is a difference between the claim Rabbi Jesus made, 'they knew nothing' and being warned for over 1,400 years, 1,200 years, 969 years, 120 years, five years, and seven days of the impending destruction. DO YOU GET THE POINT?

'By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as of yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the save his house; in so doing he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness...' Hebrew 11:7

So this was not ...as lightning coming from the east that was visible in the west as Rabbi Jesus indicated in Matthew 24:27. God's Judgment was a slow, deliberate process of warnings. It was not all of the sudden without warning as Rabbi Jesus said!!

Dear Reader in numerous examples I have shown many errors in Rabbi Jesus comment on Matthew 24:37-39. At the very least this should challenge us to ask why did Rabbi Jesus misrepresent the truth? Why did Rabbi Jesus state things that historically are proven inaccurate? One must at least consider how the Christian New Testament could not be considered Divinely inspired with so many errors?

Chapter 6

How Is A Biblical Hour Measured?

The Biblical hour is determined by dividing the length of daylight by twelve. The length of brevity of a Biblical day does not matter. A Biblical Day is 1/12th of the entire daylight and a Biblical Night is 1/12th of the darkness. If one were to measure a Biblical hour by minutes an hour could be as long as 75 minutes or as short as 45 minutes.

The Gregorian hour is based upon 60 minutes.  There are 12 hours in a Gregorian day. Some of the 12 hours of daylight, when days are shorter in winter, will actually be in darkness.  The daylight hours are shorter. Some of the 12 hours of darkness, when nights are shorter in summer, will actually be in daylight. The night time hours are shorter. Some of the 12 hours of daylight in summer will actually be longer than 12 hours.  The daylight hours will exceed 12 hours. Some of the 12 hours of darkness in winter will actually be longer. The night time hours will exceed 12 hours.

I understand this is confusing. Pope Gregory XIII introduced this confusion into our lives. If one were to view the Christian Writing using the Gregorian day or the Gregorian hour instead of the Biblical day or hour the results would be quite different. The Gregorian measurement of time draws one into confusion.

We are going to review several examples of a Biblical hour.

If the length of our present daylight is fourteen 60 minute hours the Biblical measurement for this same time is 12 - 70 minute hours.  The Biblical measurement of an hour expands and contracts within twelve hours. So an hour is rarely 60 minutes.

If the length of our present daylight is fourteen 60 minute hours in the Gregorian measurement of time an hour remains as sixty minutes. The hours of daylight expand or contract. A day is rarely 12 hours.

The Biblical measurement of a day is measured by daylight. The Biblical measurement of night is measured by darkness. The Gregorian measurement of a day is 12 hours. The Gregorian measurement of a night is 12 hours.

A few years back, a business lady and I were supposed to meet at Denver's Eastside Kosher Deli for lunch. We set the appointment for around 11:00 am. We set the appointment somewhere between a few days to several weeks in advance. I arrived a few minutes before 11 am. Selected a booth and ordered a soft drink. After waiting about 15 minutes I began to wonder if it was the wrong day so I checked my day planner. Nope, it was today at 11am. I began to wonder what happened.  Then I realized we had a time change and one of us failed to make the adjustment by moving the clock ahead an hour. Shortly my cell phone rang... This happens all the time when daylight savings begins and ends. What is the point? How does this relate to an hour thousands of years ago? I am told that Bartholomew Manfredi, and Italian clockmaker invented the first pocket watch in 1462. In 1670 and English clockmaker named William Clement  is credited with the development of the Grandfather style clock. We know that sundials and water clocks were in use two thousand years ago. In fact many different forms of measuring time existed. The form that we are discussing, i.e. the measurement of an hour depended on being able to see the sun and the moon. How would one measure time two thousand years ago on a very cloudy day? How would one know what time to meet another? How would one set appointments? The writer Matthew shares a  story he says Jesus told about a householder that needed laborers to work in his vineyard. The  householder went out early in the morning to hire workers, then again at the third hour, the sixth hour, ninth hour and finally the eleventh hour of the day. They each worked to evening. The point is that morning and evening were the only exact points of measurement. There were other points of measurement. Animals are accustomed to eating at certain times and giving milk at certain times etc. Yet on a cloudy day these time measurements move. The point is that one could be off significantly in there measurement of an hour.

Seeing the difference between The Biblical measurement of time from that of the Gregorian measurement of time helps us to see and acknowledge differences exist. On the other hand, we may not understand how the  Biblical measurement of time functions. God Willing, I am going to share  how the  Biblical measurement of time functions.

Please view Book For Example of 13.5 - 60 Minute Hours of Daylight

A Biblical day is always twelve periods of daylight and twelve periods of night.  The minutes of a Biblical hour increase or decrease but the number of hours always remain the same.  The way we understand time today is considerably different than Biblical hours.

Let's consider a day that has 13.5 hours of daylight, i.e. sunlight.  In our present system the sixth hour of the day is 6 A.M.  Remember the Gregorian measurement for a day begins a midnight. So while the 6th hour is 6 am The Biblical measurement begins at daybreak. This means the Biblical 6th hour is actually 12:30 pm of the Gregorian hour. This means one has crossed over to the 12 hours of night time by 30 minutes. Remember it is 12:30 pm. The ninth hour of our day is 9 a.m. The Biblical 9th hour is actually 3:30 pm of the Gregorian hour. This is 3 hours and 30 minutes into the 12 hours of night time.
