There is reason The Torah Portion of the Bible describes Eisov with the Word Eesh in two different ways. It is like Eisov had two different faces. He has the good inclination and the evil inclination. When we Observe Eisov the man who is described as a farmer we see a man who has gone through a cleansing but still struggles with his impure and evil nature. He says he is going to kill his brother. This is the evil nature. He does not kill his brother. This is the good nature. He is going to meet his brother with 400 servants. His intent seems to be evil yet he hugs his brother and invites him to travel with him. Now we know that even though we see this Gematria shows the clean good side of Eisov we realize he has a very bad side. The Gematria for אִישׁ שָׂדֶה Eesh - Saw Deh, meaning, A Man of the Field, A Farmer is 620. The Gematria for being pure is 620.


We have the Eisov type men. They give the appearance that they are clean and pure but what they do shows otherwise. They use Torah as a cover for their actions.

Now lets look at Yaakov. Ha Torah Says Yaakov at the age of manhood, i.e. thirteen, was a man without fault. תָּם Tawm means perfect yet we do not translate Yaakov as being perfect. Now, in comparison Ha Torah Says Noach at the age of 600 was a righteous man perfect in his generation... There are three important points.

Exodus 30:11

כִּי תִשָּׂא אֶת־רֹאשׁ בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לִפְקֻדֵיהֶם וְנָתְנוּ אִישׁ כֹּפֶר נַפְשׁוֹ

לַיהוָֹה בִּפְקֹד אֹתָם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה

בָהֶם נֶגֶף בִּפְקֹד אֹתָם: יג


Exodus 30:12

Take a head count of everything from Aleph to Tav of B'nei Israel to determine the amount each man shall give as an atonement pledge for his soul to The Lord when you count them and as a result there will be no plague among them when you count them.

We want to center on the Words אִישׁ כֹּפֶר Eesh Coh Fehr, meaning Man's Atonement Pledge. Man's Atonement Pledge is represented by a half shekel coin for each man above the age of twenty. Each man brought a half shekel as an atonement for his soul. אִישׁ כֹּפֶר Eesh Coh Fehr, is the Gematria of 611. The Gematria for תּוֹרָה Torah / Law, meaning the 613 Commands of Ha Torah of the Law is also 611. This tells us that obeying, i.e. observing the 613 Commands of Ha Torah is and atonement for our soul.

When man follows Ha Torah, Ha Torah atones for man. How do we know this? The Gematrias are the same. The Torah is Perfect. The Torah can and does atone for man. So in the Observance of Torah we see atonement for man.

Exodus 35.3

לֹא־תְבַעֲרוּ אֵשׁ בְּכֹל משְׁבֹתֵיכֶם בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת1:1


Exodus 35.3

You shall not kindle fire in any of your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.

Fire is both a representation of man's technological mastery and as a symbol of man and Woman's emotional drives


Individuals must practice how to control their technological advances as we will discuss in Chapter twelve. There we will discuss controlling our technological advances. In this chapter we want to focus of individual responsibilities of controlling emotions, and desires and how it is accomplished through marriage.


An individual that is single is not benefiting from the lessons of marriage. Marriage is a union between a man and a woman. Marriage is called 'Holy Matrimony'. The man is separated to his wife and the wife is separated to her husband. NOTHING is suppose to come between them all the days of their lives, Kaw Naw Nah Haw Raw!!


The goal of 'Holy Matrimony' is to learn how to live in peace and harmony with another individual that is the opposite of you. Both learn to share. Both learn how to cooperate. Both learn how to function as a unit. Both learn how to successfully raise children together. Both learn how to worship together. Both learn how to observe Sabbath and Holy Days together. Then there are the relative issues. They are complex also. Both learn how to get along with their spouses relatives. Husband and wife do this their entire lives while living near a very hot bed, FIRE! Remember the old saying, Don't play with FIRE? Remember old Smoky the bear? Only you can prevent Forest Fires!


In marriage relationships a אִישׁ husband has his own FIRE and a אִשָּׁה wife has her own FIRE.


אִיש

The Letter Yud i.e. the center Letter for אִישׁ meaning man represents strength. The Letter Yud is the first Letter of the Lord's Holy Name. The Lord Placed the Letter Yud between the Aleph and The Shin so man would have the possibility of peace and happiness. The Letter Yud stands next to the Letter Hey. The Letter Yud represents the Ten Commandments that expand out to all 613 Commands of the Torah. Man is suppose to follow the Commands that pertain to him. In addition the Letter Yud represents strength, the Gevurah of man. Man is supposed to use his strength wisely, i.e. to keep the Letter Aleph and the Letter Shin apart. Use the Yud to prevent fire. Otherwise there is fire. God, please help us. It takes a real man to use the Letter Yud wisely to avoid hot burning fire.. God Assist us please. Man was designed to walk a tight line. Man was designed to walk on egg shells.


אִשָּׁה

The Letter Hey diffuses the fire... The Letter Hey controls the fire. The Letter Hey is the second Letter in the Holy Name of the Lord. The Letter Hey stands next to the Letter Yud. The Letter Hey is represents the Five Books of the Torah. Inside the Five Books are the 613 Commands. The wife is required to follow the Commands that pertain to her. So to speak, the fire has to pass through the Divine Space, i.e the 613 Commands, the Five Books.. In other words the fire is calmed and supervised with kindness when it passes through the Letter Hey, Divine Supervision. The fire is tempered. A wife was designed to walk on a tight wire. A wife was designed to walk on egg shells.


Dear Reader this is how our Creator designed the man and the woman. Good relationships learn how to avoid fire while having plenty of warmth for comfort. We have this potential for fire but we don't have to have fire.


The Letter Aleph represents God's Name. The Letter Aleph represents one thousand. The Letter Aleph is the first Letter for both אִיש Man and אִשָּׁה Woman. When the Letter Aleph is spelled out the Gematria is 111. This tell us God is 1. God is 1. God is 1.


The Letter Shin שָׁלוֹם means peace. The Letter Shin also represents שַׁדַּי The Almighty One. Before one enters their home or their bedroom a Mezuzah is attached to the door frame. On the Mezuzah are the Letters reminding the Husband and wife שַׁדַּי The Almighty One. When the Letter Shin is spelled out the Gematria is 360. This tells us that the relationship between a husband and wife needs to be a complete circle. There are no corners. This represents the eternal relationship of their marriage. When the Aleph (111) and the Shin (360)_ are joined side by side properly they combine to represent מְלֵאֹת Mih Lay Oot meaning Complete or Fullness.

Lets look at Yaakov. Ha Torah Says Yaakov at the age of manhood, i.e. thirteen, was a man without fault. תָּם Tawm means perfect yet we do not translate Yaakov as being perfect. Now, in comparison Ha Torah Says Noach at the age of 600 was a righteous man perfect in his generation... There are three important points.


אֵלֶּה תּוֹלְדֹת נֹחַ נֹחַ אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים הָיָה

:בְּדֹרֹתָיו אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים הִתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹחַ


First

When The Torah portion of the Bible Says, נֹחַ אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים Noach was a righteous man, perfect... this was when Noach was 600 years old. His life of righteousness and perfection were well established over a very long period of time. He was Observed for 600 years. This says a great deal for Noach. In comparison, Yaakov's life was Observed in Ha Torah for only 13 years at the time of this witness.


Second Noach was married. This means that he was perfect in his marriage. Noach was a father. He was perfect in his relationship to his sons and daughter-in-laws. Yaakov was not married. He did not have any children or relatives. The Yud and Mem are missing from Yaakov's life. We do not see תָּמִים we see תָּם . When we Observe the Word used for perfection in Noach's life the Yud and the Mem are present. They are not present in Yaakov's life at the age of thirteen. Even though Tam means without fault, is Ha Torah Saying that Yaakov was complete with 134 more years to live? I think Ha Torah is Saying Yaakov has gone as far as a single man can. He needs a wife . He needs children. He needs relatives. How do we know this? The Gematria of 10י Yud and ם40 Mem equals 50.


תָּם Tawm means perfect yet we do not translate Yaakov as being perfect.We say he was without fault. Now, in comparison Ha Torah Says Noach at the age of 600 was perfect.


At the age of thirteen Yaakov is תָּם Tawm which is the Gematria of 440. At the age of of 63, i.e. 50 years later he leaves home to begin his pursuit of a wife, children and relatives. 13 + 50 = 63. The Yud and the Mem = 50. Consider that 7 weeks times 7 weeks is 49 and the next day we the Jewish people are at our height of Spirituality. It is Shavuot the 50th day. So one could say that Yaakov was perfect in one area of his life but not all areas. the Yud and the Mem often represent plural. If the Yud and the Mem were added to תָּם Tawm this could represent many levels of perfection.


Yaakov did not rush into marriage as did Eisov who married at 40 but was sexually active at 13. Yaakov was 77 years of age when he married Rochel and 83 when he consummated the marriage with Leah and a week later with Rochel.


Genesis 28.2

Arise, go to Padan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father; and take a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother.


From Yitzchok's Blessing we learn that he ratified his original Blessing. He did not consider himself tricked. His second Blessing was of his own free will. Yitzchok's instruction also indicates his disapproval of Eisov's actions in marrying Canaanite women. He Instructed Yaakov to take a wife from Lavan, his mother's brother. Yaakov did as his father Instructed him.


Soul Mate

Ha Torah is Teaching Jewish Women to marry Jewish men. The SoulMate of a Jewish person will be from B'nei Yisroel. Yitzchok Instructed Yaakov to not take a wife from among other belief's. Avraham Instructed his servant to not take a wife from among other belief's. One cannot find their SoulMate if they are seeking outside of their belief.


The SoulMate of a non-Jew individual, a Noachide will be from among B'nai Noach. Why? Our Creator separated B'nei Yisroel from among all people. B'nei Yisroel are called to a life of separation to a life of holiness that other people are not required to Observe.


B'nei Yisroel have certain Mitzvot to Observe. The Mitzvot for B'nei YIsroel are more than those for B'nai Noach. Dozens of times our Creator Said, דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל 'Speak to the people of Israel... ' There is a reason for this. Certain Observances are only for B'nei Yisroel. This is in part why a non-Jewish man should marry a non Jewish woman. A non Jewish woman should marry a non Jewish man. Your SoulMate will not be Jewish.

A Light Rekindled

Oft in generations past a fervent alluring magnificent light glowed,


This burst of light revealed many dedicated hours of Torah lines rowed,


Word by Word each line carefully considered as Torah illumination flowed,


Oh, the pleasure of learning the Holy Text on the table by the fire showed.


Blessed are the generations where dedicated love of Torah is bestowed,

Then something awful happened. Our love and dedication for Torah slowed


From one generation to the next the glorious Torah was allowed to Erode


Now, with teared eyes, generations later I search for the path relatives strode


The once great light of Torah is only a spark when blowed


Then something really wonderful happens the spark of Torah light again glowed.


A rise oh Hope of blessed light. Set us aright in the path our relatives strode.

In the parshat this week, our attention is drawn to those who are not the planners of the Mishkon or the contractors or even the laborers. Yet, they are there. They are very important and their contribution is also important.


Frequently we receive mail from readers. Ocassionally a reader writes about feeling left out because they are not Jewish. And as a result, God Willing, I have written two Books entitled Would You Like To Be Jewish and the other is entitled God's Plan From the Beginning. I am excited! Kaw Naw Nah Hah Raw! They help each of us better connect with Judaism regardless of our background.

On one occasion a lady wrote in an E-mail that even the gentiles are God's Children and that God Created them also. This is certainly true. The world we live in does have many members and many religions. Her note was an excellent reminder for to be considerate, mindful and careful of others. We are not to blind ourselves of our neighbors or their important contribution. Yet, one should understand that jewishpath.org, jewishpath.com and jewishlink.net are Jewish websites with the goal of assisting those who are Jewish. However we also have bnti.us - B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC and 7commands.com which are designed for everyone to be a part.

In this Parshat we learn that the offerings given to build the Mishkon were requested of B'nei Israel, the Nation of the Covenant. These were offerings were from people who were commanded to be 'Shomar Sabbath', meaning people who guard the Sabbath. This they sanctified the Sabbath. They set aside Sabbath as Commanded in the Torah. They did their work on the other six days. Now it was from these people that The Lord commanded Moses to request the Terumah offering. What that meant was that God wanted the Mishkon, His future dwelling place, to be built from contributions by His people, B'nei Israel, who were COMMANDED TO BE separated from the rest of the world. That does not imply that the rest of the world is not important. Yet, on the other hand, it does draw a very straight line.

There is a difference between Jewish beliefs and beliefs of other 730 religions with some 35,000 splinter religions of the present world. In Judaism we, the Jewish people, are Commanded by God to follow the Torah. MSome of us do not. Gentiles are commanded by God to observe a portion of the Torah, I.e. the Seven Commandments which expand into many more Commands. Some observe these Commands and other do not know they exist.

Now if you're building a house, who do you want to build it? Do you want people who are observant to your Commandments or people who don't know they exist? Do you want people who identify with your ideology or people who object? Do you want people who live Judaism second by second or people who are acquainted with it? The issue here is simple, God chose B'nei Israel to build his Mishkon because they were separated to Him.

Originally God offered His Torah to the other sixty-nine nations of the world. They rejected His Torah. Only Kal Israel wholeheartedly accepted The Lord's Torah. So why would The Lord include nations that rejected Him in the building of his Mishkon?

Dear Reader, the fact is that you and many besides you want to be Jewish is for a reason. You relate to the Commands. You relate to the call. Chances are you will convert. Chances are you will be Jewish. Chances are you were called from before the beginning to be Jewish.

On the other hand, the fact is that often Jews feel somewhat left out, too. We are not the Levium who work in close contact with the Mishkon or the coming Beit Ha Mikdosh. We do not set it up or take it down. We do not work in the courtyards. Yet the fact is that even the Levium who have this close contact may also feel somewhat left out because the Kohanim are the ones who offer the blessings, light the Menorah and offer sacrifices. Yet the Kohanim could feel a little left out because only one of them can be the Kohen Godal, the High Priest.

My dear readers, our responsibilities are different, our positions of service are different, but we all are important to The Lord. Listen, originally from the beginning Adam was the High Priest. Adam was the ruler. Noach was a High Priest. Shem also known as Malki Zedek / King of Righteousness was High Priest. Later the priesthood was the responsibility of the tribal heads. It was because of the failings by the tribal leaders of B'nai Israel at the golden calf incident. That The Lord Separated the tribe of Levi unto Him and the house of Aaron as the Kohanim and Aaron himself as the Kohen Godal.

The tribal leaders {the former priests} had feelings about this matter, yet they understood that the tribe of Levi and the house of Aaron stood out in their righteousness. On the other hand, there were some righteous malcontents, so to speak, in Parshat Korach who were unhappy with The Lord's selections of Moses and Aaron, etc.

So what is the point to all of this? God has not left any of us out. There is a place for each of us!!We may feel left out but that is only our perception. We can connect to each other. We can connect to the Torah. We can connect to The Lord. Even though millions of names are not included in the building of the Mishkon, they are not left out. This being the situation, we do not read of anyone feeling left out during the building of the Mishkon. We do not read of contention. We do not hear of ego problems. B'nei Israel was focused on constructing the Mishkon built 100 percent right the first time around. There was a positive attitude that existed.

Rabbi Eli Munk discusses the importance of everyone. He asks,

"Why was a special accounting given for the silver hooks for the pillars {in Exodus 38:28}? Would not one total figure for all the silver used in the Tabernacle have sufficed? According to the Midrash, when Moses initially rendered his accounts to the people, he left out 1,775 shekels used in making the hooks for the pillars, for they were not visible. It was only after he became concerned that the Israelites might suspect him of wrong doing about the accounts, that with The Lord's help he happened to look at the pillars and was reminded of the hooks.

"This Midrash, explains Chasam Sofer, is referring to the fact that although the core of the nation of Israel comprised 600,000 righteous men, there were many worthy Israelites outside of this core, including women, children, and converts {over two and one half million}. Moses was concerned about how he would inspire holiness in those who did not belong to this nucleus {of 600,000}. The Lord then drew his attention to the deeper meaning of the hooks of the pillars, to show him that those who are not part of the core are to be hooked firmly onto the pillars, i.e., to the righteous, who form its inner core.

Vaw Veem, means hooks. The Letter ו Vav appears twice in the word Vaw Veem, hooks, and is shaped like a hook; similarly, the Letter ו Vav often serves as a coordinating conjunction / a connecting letter, in which case it attaches two Words etc.

The hooks signify "EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT." Those in the center of the core, those outside the core and those who are not Jewish. Everyone is important! Yet that does not mean everyone is the same. The hooks also symbolize a future time spoken of by the Novie Zechariah.

Zechariah 8:23

Thus said The Lord, Master of Legions: In those days it will happen that ten men, of all [different] languages of the nations, will take hold, they will take hold of the corner of the garment of a Jewish man, saying, 'Let us go with you, for we have heard God is with you.

Non Jews will take hold of the tzitzit on the corner of a Jewish man's tallit. Zechariah Teaches us that Jews will be clearly distinguished as Jews. Part of that distinguishing factor will be our tallit, our clothing... Non Jews will latch on... will hook on... will connect with the 'RIGHTEOUS JEW.' Many of us have a ways to go to reach that point.... If we continue to try we will eventually get there.

The Gematria for Vaw Vem is 62. This is also the Gematria of Bayn, meaning between.

'God, divided / separated between the light and the darkness...'

Genesis 17:7

'I will establish my covenant between Me and you and between your descendants after you throughout their generations for an eternal covenant, to be a God to you, and to your descendants after you.'

Exodus 31:12,13

'B'nei Israel shall guard {preserve} the Sabbath, to maintain the Sabbath for their generations {including the 21st century} as an everlasting covenant 
between Me and between B'nei Israel it is an everlasting sign; for in six days The Lord Made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day, He abstained from work and He rested.'

So on one hand Bayn separates between light and dark and on the other hand Bayn connects between The Lord and B'nei Israel.

Let's notice how the Letter Vav connects the Holy Scriptures together.

The Gematria Mispar Godal of Vaw Veem is 622 which is the Gematria for
Bih Ree Tee, meaning "Covenant" and also for Ber Chot, meaning blessing. Those of the Covenant who contributed out of the generosity of their heart to the products for the construction of the Mishkon even though they were not of the central core received their special blessing.

The righteous core received their blessing... and those connected to them received their blessing and those connected to them received their blessing.... etc. {this connection is NOT through intermarriage}

The connection comes from The Lord.

A unique way of looking at Biblical dates -


The Hebrew Scriptures have many dates. The People of Israel are required to pay attention to dates. What is the purpose of dates in The Scriptures? Specific dates like Passover, counting the Omer, The Festival of Weeks, Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur and The Festival of Booths require specific observances for The People of Israel. 


What about other dates? Do we pay attention to other dates? Are other dates important? Every date is important. What I am trying to say is that each of us has a relationship with dates in The Holy  Scriptures. For Example, Those born in the First month have relationship to Passover. Those born in the second month have a relationship to the Holy Census of The People of Israel in the Wilderness. The construction of The Holy Temple began in the second month. 


If one knows the day of their birth they can search The Scriptures to learn what may have happened on that day. For example, I learned that  '...the first day of the second month, in the second year after [The People of Israel] came out from the land of Egypt...' The Lord Instructed Moses to take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel. This day was the 31st day of the year.


The specific day of the year, one is born is their Gematria day number.  For example, אל El means 'to' or 'unto'. The Gematria of El is 31. El is also a Holy Name of God meaning 'Strength' and 'Power.'  The first occurrence of a Word with the Gematria 31 is in Genesis 1.3. ויהי Vah Yih Hee means 'was'.  God Said, 'Let there be Light and there WAS Light.'

A unique way of looking at Biblical dates -


The Hebrew Scriptures have many dates. The People of Israel are required to pay attention to dates. What is the purpose of dates in The Scriptures? Specific dates like Passover, counting the Omer, The Festival of Weeks, Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur and The Festival of Booths require specific observances for The People of Israel. 


What about other dates? Do we pay attention to other dates? Are other dates important? Every date is important. What I am trying to say is that each of us has a relationship with dates in The Holy  Scriptures. For Example, Those born in the First month have relationship to Passover. Those born in the second month have a relationship to the Holy Census of The People of Israel in the Wilderness. The construction of The Holy Temple began in the second month.

Dear Ones, notice the three columns of the above table. Each column lists a presentation to The Lord. In column one there is the Minchah Tribute. In column two there is the Zeh Vah Ach sacrifice. In column three there is the Lih Ooh Lawh Burnt Offering to The Lord.


A clarification of each presentation is extremely important. Unfortunately, Bible translators have not been careful to make the distinctions between the three presentations clear. Bible translators use the word 'offering' for each of the three presentations. This is irresponsible and careless handling of The Holy Scripture!! When the word offering is used for each of these three words how is the reader to distinguish which meaning is intended? When we do not make clear concise distinctions well meaning folk may draw wrong conclusions.


My intent is to set a framework of interpretation for these three words that readers can rely on as a true foundation for understanding the correct meaning. To accomplish this some of us may need to erase what we have been told. We may need to take a few steps back before we can go forward.


We are entering Sefer Vayikra, i.e. The Book Of Leviticus. In Leviticus there are 247 Observances for The People of Israel. Many of these Observances are either a Minchah Tribute, a Zeh Vah Ach Sacrifice or a Lih Ooh Lawh Burnt Offering to The Lord. On page 25 in the textbook I quote Leviticus 1.1-2, 'if Adam, i.e. a man among you brings an Offering to The Lord..' What Presentation is being referred to? We cannot distinguish this in the English translations of the Bible. We don't know. Knowing the differences between the three presentations is very important! One must understand the meaning of each presentation to fulfill the Observance properly. This is why we must take time to explain and clarify the meaning and intent of each of these presentations.


Leviticus begins with establishing different Offerings that one may bring to The Lord. The Word for Offering is קָרְבָּן Kar Bawn / Karbon. Karbon refers to all forms of presentation to the Lord. Leviticus 1.2,3 identify The Karbon as animals, cattle or sheep.

Vayikra 1.8

וְעָרְכוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֲנִים אֵת הַנְּתָחִים אֶת־הָרֹאשׁ וְאֶת־הַפָּדֶר עַל־הָעֵצִים אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאֵשׁ אֲשֶׁר עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ: ט

Leviticus 1.8


Notice וְאֶת־הַפָּדֶר Vih Eth - Hah Paw Dehr meaning the suet - the hard white fat on the kidneys and loins of cattle, sheep and goats. The Word for animal fat is פָּדֶר . This is different from the Word for diary fat from which we receive cream, butter and cheese.


Genesis 45.17

And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Say to your brothers, Do this; load everything from Aleph to Tav of your beasts, and go to the land of Canaan;

וּקְחוּ אֶת־אֲבִיכֶם וְאֶת־בָּתֵּיכֶם וּבֹאוּ אֵלָי וְאֶתְּנָה לָכֶם אֶת־טוּב אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם וְאִכְלוּ אֶת־חֵלֶב הָאָרֶץ: יט


Genesis 45.18

And bring everything from Aleph to Tav of your father and everything from Aleph to Tav of your households, and to me; and I will give you everything from Aleph to Tav of the good of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat everything from Aleph to Tav of the fat of the land.


The Words אֶת־חֵלֶב הָאָרֶץ and you shall eat everything from Aleph to Tav of the fat of the land refer to vegetation, grain, milk, cheese and butter.


Translators fail to make a most important distinction In Genesis 4.3 - 5 between חֵלֶב i.e. fat from vegetation, grain, milk, cheese and butter from that of פָּדֶר. i.e. animal fat / suet / - the hard white fat on the kidneys and loins of cattle, sheep and goats. Failing to make this extremely important distinction misleads readers. The translators write fat without making the distinction between the two. How is the reader to know the difference? In Genesis 4.3 the reference is to the fat of the land. In Leviticus 1.8 the reference is to animal fat.


Notice why making this distinction is important.

וַיְהִי מִקֵּץ יָמִים וַיָּבֵא קַיִן מִפְּרִי הָאֲדָמָה מִנְחָה לַיהוָֹה: ד

Genesis 4.3

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an Tribute to the Lord.


מִנְחָה

Cains Tribute was a Minchah Tribute. Notice the eight word counting from the right to the left. The eighth Word is מִנְחָה Minchah. The tribute was not an animal sacrifice!



Bereisheit 4.4

וְהֶבֶל הֵבִיא גַם־הוּא מִבְּכֹרוֹת צֹאנוֹ וּמֵחֶלְבֵהֶן וַיִּשַׁע

יְהֹוָה אֶל־הֶבֶל וְאֶל־מִנְחָתוֹ: ה

Genesis 4.4

And Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat of it. And the Lord had respect for Abel and for his Tribute;


מִנְחָתוֹ

Able also brought a Tribute. The Tribute was a Minchah Tribute. The Holy Scriptures Say, מִנְחָתוֹ Mee Nih Chah Toh meaning His Tribute Offering. Able did not bring an animal sacrifice! If Able brought an animal sacrifice the Word would be לְעֹלָה Lih Ooh Lah meaning a burnt Offering. Able brought מִנְחָתוֹ i.e. a Tribute from vegetation, grain, milk, cheese and butter. We know Able brought cream, cheese and butter because The Holy Scriptures say מִבְּכֹרוֹת צֹאנוֹ meaning from the firstborn of his flocks.

וְאֶל־קַיִן וְאֶל־מִנְחָתוֹ לֹא שָׁעָה וַיִּחַר לְקַיִן מְאֹד וַיִּפְּלוּ פָּנָיו: ו


Genesis 4.5

But for Cain and for his offering he did not have respect. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.


The Holy Scriptures Uses the exact say Word to describe Cain's Tribute. The Holy Scriptures Say, מִנְחָתוֹ Mee Nih Chah Toh meaning His Tribute Offering. The Lord was not pleased with Cain's מִנְחָתוֹ Mee Nih Chah Toh meaning His Tribute Offering because Cain offered spoiled flax seed. Cain did not offer from the first grain from the best of his fields. Cain was stingy. He offered the poorest Tribute. It is for these reasons Cain's Minchah Tribute was rejected.


The Minchah Tribute may be a tribute to The Lord or another human being. Joseph, the viceroy of Egypt, received a Minchah Tribute from his brother in Genesis 43.11. The Minchah is described as, 'a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds'. These are not animal sacrifices. We review this on pages 26 through 32.


Those who are not Jewish may not know the Observances the Seder Meal follows during Passover. The ArtScroll Youth Haggadah is an excellent source to learn more about the Observance during the Seder Meal. During the Seder the leader takes the unleavened bread, i.e. the matzah and says, 'This is the plain bread of the poor...' 'This is the bread of affliction that our fathers ate in the land of Egypt. , Whoever is hungry let him come and eat.'


There is important meaning at the foundation of these words. When one is a slave they are owned by someone. They were not free to do as they wanted. The People of Israel owned sheep and cattle but were not permitted to offer burnt sacrifices to The Lord. The Egyptians worshiped the sheep as their gods. When the People of Israel took the Passover Offering, a lamb or goat they were taking the gods of Egypt to slaughter. They asked to leave Egypt to offer sacrifices to The Lord. Pharaoh denied their request time and again until the last plague. So when the People of Israel speak of the Matzah as the bread of the poor or the bread of affliction we understand this goes back thousands of years to slavery in Egypt. Matzah was the most basic of food for the People of Israel. When the people of Israel fled Egypt they took eighteen minutes to hastily make unleavened bread as a source of food for the days following there journey out of Egypt to freedom. Unleavened bread is without yeast. Unleavened bread is pure! Unleavened bread is the symbol of being without sin.


As noted above Leviticus begins with making important distinctions between the offerings. First is The Karbon of animals, cattle or sheep.


Vayikra 1.2

דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם אָדָם כִּי־יַקְרִיב מִכֶּם קָרְבָּן לַיהוָֹה מִן־הַבְּהֵמָה מִן־הַבָּקָר וּמִן־הַצֹּאן תַּקְרִיבוּ אֶת־קָרְבַּנְכֶם: ג


Leviticus 1.2

Speak to the people of Israel, and say to them, [if] a man among you brings an Offering to The Lord, from the animals, from the cattle and from the sheep, you shall bring everything from Aleph to Tav of your Offerings.


קָרְבָּן לַיהוָֹה Karbon, Offering to The Lord is a common way of discussing any presentation. It is an Offering to The Lord. קָרְבַּנְכֶם Kaw Rih Bah Nih Chem means your offerings. When the Words קָרְבָּן Karbon / Offering , קָרְבָּנוֹ or Kawr Vaw Noh / His Offering or קָרְבַּנְכֶם Kaw Rih Bah Nih Chem / His Offerings are used these are in reference to burnt offerings.

Vayikra 1.14

וְאִם מִן־הָעוֹף עֹלָה קָרְבָּנוֹ לַיהוָֹה וְהִקְרִיב מִן־הַתֹּרִים אוֹ מִן־בְּנֵי הַיּוֹנָה אֶת־קָרְבָּנוֹ: טו

Leviticus 1.14

And if his burnt offering to the Lord is of birds, he shall bring either the turtledoves, or the young pigeons [he shall bring] everything from Aleph to Tav of his offering.


קָרְבָּנוֹ Kawr Vaw Noh - meaning his offering.


Vayikra 2.1

וְנֶפֶשׁ כִּי־תַקְרִיב קָרְבַּן מִנְחָה לַיהוָֹה סֹלֶת יִהְיֶה קָרְבָּנוֹ וְיָצַק עָלֶיהָ שֶׁמֶן וְנָתַן עָלֶיהָ לְבֹנָה: ב


Leviticus 2.1

And when a soul brings a Minchah Offering to the Lord, his Offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense on it.


Dear Ones, I have made the above distinctions so that we can realize the difference between a Minchah Tribute from קָרְבַּן מִנְחָה לַיהוָֹה A Karbon Minchah To The Lord. Cain and Abel brought A Minchah Tribute. A קָרְבַּן מִנְחָה לַיהוָֹה Karbon Minchah To The Lord is fine flour, oil and frankincense that is burnt upon the altar.


In Leviticus 5 when an individual sins he may offer an ewe, a lamb or a nannie for a sin offering. Most of us would not be able to afford the cost so in Leviticus 5.7 we are informed that it is OK. If our funds are insufficient one may bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons for a sin offering. If our funds are insufficient and one cannot bring either two turtledoves or two young pigeons this is OK. One may bring a tenth of an epha of fine flour for a sin offering. The flour will be brought to the Priest. The Priest will burn the flour in the fire and atone for his sin.


It is this offering that we think of at the Passover Seder. It is this offering that is the plain bread of the poor that atones for our sins. Cain and Abel did not bring an atonement offering. They brought a Minchah Tribute.


Tributes


Bereisheit 4.3

וַיְהִי מִקֵּץ יָמִים וַיָּבֵא קַיִן מִפְּרִי הָאֲדָמָה מִנְחָה לַיהוָֹה: ד


Genesis 4.3

Some Religions claim Abel brought an animal sacrifice. Abel did not!! Notice Abel's tribute and Cain's tribute are spelled the same in Hebrew. We know Cain's tribute was spoiled flax seed. Abel's Tribute was Cream, butter and wool.


Bereisheit 43.11

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲבִיהֶם אִם־כֵּן ׀ אֵפוֹא זֹאת עֲשׂוּ קְחוּ מִזִּמְרַת הָאָרֶץ בִּכְלֵיכֶם וְהוֹרִידוּ לָאִישׁ מִנְחָה מְעַט צֳרִי וּמְעַט דְּבַשׁ נְכֹאת וָלֹט בָּטְנִים וּשְׁקֵדִים: יב


Genesis 43.11

And their father Israel said to them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your utensils, and carry down a Tribute to the man, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds;

And when any will offer a Minchah Offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense on it;


Sacrifices

In the second column is The Zeh Vah Ach Sacrifice. The Zeh Vah Ach Sacrifice may or may not include an animal. In Psalms 51 David Said, זִבְחֵי אֱלֹהִים Zee Vih Chai - Elohim meaning 'The Sacrifices of God'. One would normally associate a sacrifice to be an animal sacrifice. We are informed that a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart are also sacrifices that The Lord Desires.


There is an important point to note. The Word מִזְבֵּחַ Mee Zih Bay Ach meaning 'Altar' incorporates the Word זֶבַח meaning Sacrifice into it's spelling. The Letter Mem is added to the front of זֶבַח Zeh Vah Ach to become the Word מִזְבֵּחַ Mee Zih Bay Ach. The significance cannot be entirely understood. Think of it like this. Every time the Word מִזְבֵּחַ Mee Zih Bay Ach is written in The Hebrew Scriptures this reminds us of sacrifice. The Letter מ Mem reminds us that the Altar is for more than just sacrifices.


The first usage of the Word מִזְבֵּחַ Mee Zih Bay Ach is immediately after the world was flooded. When the ark settled and the occupants departed Noah took the opportunity to make the first burnt offering unto the Lord. The first Offering was a Peace Offering unto the Lord.


Up until this time The Lord God forbade humankind to take life of any kind. No one was permittted to take life for any reason!. The Lord God Judged all humankind and determined to end the lives of all who were evil. See Genesis 61.3. The destruction of the World was a judgment that ended life.


In Sefer Raziel Ha Malach, the Book of Adam Ha Reshon we read an excerpt from the prayer Adam prayed after his sin. Adam confessed his sin. He prayed for The Lord to be Merciful and Gracious with him. He requested compassion for himself and all creation. Avraham Yaakov Finkel, Kabbalah (Southfield, Mi, Targum, Nanuet NY, Feldheim Publishers, 2002) p 24.



The point is that before Noah, building an altar and offering kosher birds and animals humankind made supplications to the Lord. There was the supplication of the heart only! There was the confession of the mouth only!



Bereisheit 6.18 - 20

וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתָּךְ וּבָאתָ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּנְשֵׁי־בָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ: יט וּמִכָּל־הָחַי מִכָּל־בָּשָׂר שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל תָּבִיא אֶל־הַתֵּבָה לְהַחֲיֹת אִתָּךְ זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה יִהְיוּ: כ מֵהָעוֹף לְמִינֵהוּ וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה לְמִינָהּ מִכֹּל רֶמֶשׂ הָאֲדָמָה לְמִינֵהוּ שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל יָבֹאוּ אֵלֶיךָ לְהַחֲיוֹת: כ



Genesis 6.18 - 20

And, behold, I, Myself, bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, where there is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with you will I Establish My Covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. Of birds after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.


Now something happens during the five years Noah was constructing the Ark between Genesis 6.18 - 20 and the completion of the Ark in Genesis 7.1 - 3.


Bereisheit 7.1 - 3

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָֹה לְנֹחַ בֹּא־אַתָּה וְכָל־בֵּיתְךָ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה כִּי־אֹתְךָ רָאִיתִי צַדִּיק לְפָנַי בַּדּוֹר הַזֶּה: ב מִכֹּל ׀ הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהוֹרָה תִּקַּח־לְךָ שִׁבְעָה שִׁבְעָה אִישׁ וְאִשְׁתּוֹ וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא טְהֹרָה הִוא שְׁנַיִם אִישׁ וְאִשְׁתּוֹ: ג גַּם מֵעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם שִׁבְעָה שִׁבְעָה זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה לְחַיּוֹת זֶרַע עַל־פְּנֵי כָל־הָאָרֶץ: ד 


Genesis 7.1- 3

And The Lord Said to Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before Me in this generation. Of every clean beast you shall take to you seven pairs, the male and his female; and of beasts that are not clean one pair, the male and his female. Of birds also of the air by seven pairs, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.


In Genesis 6. 18 - 20 the Instruction תָּבִיא Taw Vee i.e. to bring... In Genesis 7.1 - 3 the Instruction was תִּקַּח Tee Kah Ach to take. This is very significant because תִּקַּח Tee Kah Ach represents ownership. Remember Noah was a prophet of The Lord God. As a Prophet he had the ability to foresee and foretell the future. It was at this time Noah understood the Creator's purpose of giving all animals to him. Originally all the animals belonged to Adam. Then Adam sinned. Originally Adam had authority over all the animals. Then Adam sinned. Adam lost his authority over the animals and all creation. Adam said that after his sin the animals did not fear him. The Lord Made a special covering from Lambs wool, goats hair and shed serpent skins to cover him and his wife. Again, there was no shedding of blood. The Creator of the universe forbade taking life until 1,656 years from creation when He destroyed the evil.


Dear Ones, The Holy Scriptures Say, 'Noah was perfect in his generations'. The Lord God chose a man who was not perfect from birth but who attained perfection by improving himself. Then the Lord God Establishes His covenant with Noah. Then the Lord God Gives all the animals to Noah. They were his responsibility. Noah and his family cared for all the animals during the year on the ark. Why is all this significant?


When Noah took the animals they belonged to him. He could not sacrifice animals if they were stolen. Noah understood this. Noah also understood the purpose for taking seven pairs of clean animals and birds. Prophetically he could see the day he would build the first מִזְבֵּחַ Mee Zih Bay Ach and be the first to offer birds and animals on the Altar to The Lord.


Do we understand what Ha Torah is Saying when we read Genesis 8.20?


Bereisheit 8.20

וַיִּבֶן נֹחַ מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָֹה וַיִּקַּח מִכֹּל ׀ הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהֹרָה וּמִכֹּל הָעוֹף הַטָּהוֹר וַיַּעַל עֹלֹת בַּמִּזְבֵּחַ: כא


Genesis 8.20

And Noah built an altar to the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean bird, and brought up burnt offerings on the altar.


Noah was not commanded or instructed to build an altar. Noah constructed an altar at the very location that Adam and Eve were created. This is the place where hundreds of years later the Holy Temple in Jerusalem would be built and the Holy Altar would be constructed. Ha Torah Says Noah built the Altar!! Noah is the first in The Holy Scriptures to build an Altar. Noah did not just construct a physical Altar. Noah also constructed the Word מִזְבֵּחַ Mee Zih Bay Ach מִזְבֵּחַ Mee Zih Bay Ach is a very Mystical Word. Abraham the Servant of The Lord learned how to build the Mee Zih Bay Ach מִזְבֵּחַ in Genesis 12.7 from Noah. Abraham is the second to build an Altar to the Lord God. Noach constructed the Altar. He took the זֶבַח Zeh Vah Ach and added the Letter מ Mem to build The Altar. We can speculate why Noah did this. We know that the Letter מ Mem is the first Letter for

מַבּוּל Mah Bool / Flood and The Letter Mem is the first Letter for מְשִׁיחַ Mih Shee Ach meaning Messiah.


The Zeh Vah Ach Sacrifice maybe a Burnt Offerings to The Lord. In Genesis 8.20


Again I ask, do we understand what Ha Torah is Saying when we read Genesis 8.20? Noah prophetically realized humankind needed to sacrifice unto The Lord. So Noah built the Mee Zih Bay Ach מִזְבֵּחַ . Mystically the Gematria of Mee Zih Bay Ach מִזְבֵּחַ is 57. The Gematria of בֹּנֶה to build is also 57.

Noach built the physical and Mystical Altar and offered the first sacrifices. He instructed Abraham in the Way of The Lord. The Messiah will come from a descendant of Noah, Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, David and Soloman. Can you see the altar Noach built?

Genesis 31.54

Then Jacob slaughtered a sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brothers to eat bread; and they ate bread, and stayed all night in the mount.



Shemot 3.18

וְשָׁמְעוּ לְקֹלֶךָ וּבָאתָ אַתָּה וְזִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם וַאֲמַרְתֶּם אֵלָיו יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי הָעִבְרִיִּים נִקְרָה עָלֵינוּ וְעַתָּה נֵלְכָה־נָּא דֶּרֶךְ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים בַּמִּדְבָּר וְנִזְבְּחָה לַיהוָֹה אֱלֹהֵינוּ: יט

אֲדֹנָי שְׂפָתַי תִּפְתָּח וּפִי יַגִּיד תְּהִלָּתֶךָ: כִּי ׀ לֹא־תַחְפֹּץ זֶבַח וְאֶתֵּנָה עוֹלָה לֹא תִרְצֶה: זִבְחֵי אֱלֹהִים רוּחַ נִשְׁבָּרָה לֵב־נִשְׁבָּר וְנִדְכֶּה אֱלֹהִים לֹא תִבְזֶה: כ


Psalms 51.17 - 19

O Lord, open you my lips; and my mouth shall declare your praise. For you do not desire sacrifice; or else would I give it; you do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.



Offering / Burnt Offering

Column three always is in reference to sacrifices that are 'Burnt Offerings'. The הָעֹלָה Haw Ooh Leh meaning Burnt Offerings rise in the air. After Noach offered the first Burnt Offering to The Lord the fragrance rose up into the heavens 'And the Lord smelled the pleasing odor' . The Word עַל Ahl means to go up. The Word עָלָה Aw Lawh means to go up to rise to ascend. The will begin a new when Moshiach comes.

וַיִּבֶן נֹחַ מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָֹה וַיִּקַּח מִכֹּל ׀ הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהֹרָה וּמִכֹּל הָעוֹף הַטָּהוֹר וַיַּעַל עֹלֹת בַּמִּזְבֵּחַ: כא


Genesis 8.20

And Noah built an altar to the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean bird, and brought up burnt offerings on the altar.


Dear Ones, Noach not only built a physical Altar and a Mystical Altar but he brought up into the Heavens burnt fragrances that arose to please The Lord God. The picture is this. When we pray let our prayer rise up. Do not be bashful. Let the sounds of our voice rise like Noach brought the fragrance of the Burnt Offering to rise up. Noach caused the Burnt offering to rise up. This is the Mystical key. This is what we must do. We must cause our praise to rise up.


The Word עֹלֹת Ooh Lot meaning to rise up is the Gematria of 500. The Word מִסַּת Mee Saht meaning a Tribute is also the Gematria 500.

The point is that Noach helped to teach us how to elevate to the Lord. Noach taught Abraham how to rise up. This is one of the many lessons we should receive from Noach. What did the Lord God Say to Abram?


Genesis 17.1

And when Abram was ninety nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be perfect.


What does the Lord God Say to us?


Leviticus 19.1,2

And The Lord Spoke to Moses, Saying, Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel, and say to them, You shall be Holy; for I the Lord your God Am Holy.


Dear Ones, the purpose of this presentation is to better understand our potential presentations unto the Lord God. Do you want to be that Noach? Do you want to be like Abraham? Then release your potential. Elevate. Rise up in a most humble way to bless, honor and praise the lord from a life of holiness. Remember Noach had to possess the animals. Abraham had to possess the animals he offered. We have to possess Holiness. Holiness can not be jacket that we wear.


Genesis 18.19

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.


Within this discussion we should have learned the foundation stones for the Minchah Tribute, The Zeh Vah Ach Sacrifice and The הָעֹלָה Haw Ooh Leh Burnt Offerings that rise up. We should understand Noach's intent was to help build and establish a bridge between the survivors of the flood and their descendants to The Lord God after the world was destroyed.


In these Gematrias we see the connection between the sacrifice and the bread. Bread is one of the presentations. Remember....


Deuteronomy 8.3

And He Humbled you, and let you hunger, and Fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that He Might Make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord Does man live.

Vayikra 8.1-6

קַח אֶת־אַהֲרֹן וְאֶת־בָּנָיו אִתּוֹ וְאֵת הַבְּגָדִים וְאֵת שֶׁמֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה וְאֵת ׀ פַּר הַחַטָּאת וְאֵת שְׁנֵי הָאֵילִים וְאֵת סַל הַמַּצּוֹת1:1

וְאֵת כָּל־הָעֵדָה הַקְהֵל אֶל־פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד:1

Leviticus 8.1-6

And the Lord Spoke to Moses, Saying, Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bull for the sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread; And gather all the Congregation together to the door of the Tent of Meeting / Tabernacle. And Moses did as the Lord Commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together to the door of the Tent of Meeting. And Moses Said to the congregation, This is the thing which the Lord Commanded to be done And he, Moses brought Everything from Aleph to Tav of Aharon and everything from Aleph to Tav of his sons and bathed them in water.


The word  וַיַּקְרֵב Vah Yah Kih Rayv means to draw, to bring inward or to bring into the midst.  The Congregation was assembled at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Then Moshe brought inward everything from Aleph to Tav of Aharon and everything from Aleph to Tav of the sons of Aharon.  What we are reading is, Moshe SEPARATED Aharon and his sons from The People of Israel / from The People of Israel on the outside of the Tabernacle.   He drew them into the midst of the Tent of Meeting.  The Presence of the Creator was there.  All Yisroel was focused on the entrance to the Tabernacle. This is represented by the Gematria 318.

To draw, To bring inward, To bring into the midst

To Obey the Commands of Ha Torah

In Chapter one we discussed the Holiness ' purity required for the soul of the one that would bring flour as an offering for sin. The power of purity and the power of Holiness had to be representative of the one who brought the flour. I stated it had to be from one's heart. Bringing the offering of flour had to be more that a formality.  Our discussion in this Parshat is about the process for the High Priest and the Priests being drawn out from The People of Israel and into service in the Tent of Meeting. They had to be on a high level of Holiness to serve the Holy Soul that brings the offerings.


Feeling drawn into the midst of the Holy Tabernacle is not enough. One must Shoo Vee, i.e., Spiritually return. The Gematria for  שׁוּבִי is 318.

Genesis 21

 

פָּקַד - Remember? 


Dear Reader, Genesis 21 is read on Rosh HaShanah because we celebrate our Creator, The Lord God Remembering Sarah. Rosh Ha Shanah is the birthday of the world, i.e. the new year. Rosh Ha Shanah is the day of judgment, i.e. the Day Adam and Chavah / Eve were judged on. Rosh Ha Shanah is the day of Shofar Blowing. It is the day when Messiah will come.  We realize the importance of this day. A month before Rosh Hashanah arrives we begin preparing ourselves. We review our life,  especially the past year. We repent for our mistakes, We make amends with those we have done wrong to. We seek to improve.


It is good to repent, to acknowledge our sins, to make a plan not to repeat our sins and to pay restitution before we get to the New Year.  It is good to turn over a new leaf so to speak, for the coming year.  It is good to seek forgiveness.  It is good to try and make amends for wrongs committed during the past year.  It is good to study Ha Torah and to pray more.  There are a lot of actions that one should do in preparation for the day of judgment.


In our discussion we are going to consider the Word פָּקַד Paw Kahd, meaning to remember... to recall... to review... to count... to number... Ha Torah Says 'And The Lord Remembered everything from Aleph to Tav of Sarah...'  


The Lord's Remembering  was an accounting of Sarah's worthiness. Sarah was 90 years old. The Hebrew Letter in the Aleph Bet for 90 is The Letter Tzaddi.  The Letter Tzaddi is the Letter that we associate with Tzaddik, meaning Righteous. Rabbi Michael L. Munk writes that the Letter Tzaddi represents The Symbol of Righteousness and Humility. Rabbi Michael Munk The Wisdom In The Hebrew Alphabet Mesorah Publications, Brooklyn, N.Y. 1990), p. 189 


Righteousness and humility are the attributes of our Creator accounted in Sarah.


That day Abraham and Sarah connected. Sarah became pregnant. Sarah carried Isaac for Seven months. She gave birth on Passover. So Genesis 21.1 informs us of Sarah's impregnation. Verse 2 informs us of Isaac's birth. Verse 2 informs us that The Lord God Kept His Promise that Abraham and Sarah would have children as written in Genesis 15.1 - 5 and 18.10 - 14.

After these things the word of The Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, 'Fear not, Abram; I am your shield, and your reward will be great.' And Abram said, Lord God, what will you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Behold, to me you have given no seed; and, lo, one born in my house is my heir. And, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, Saying, 'This shall not be your heir; but he who shall come forth from your own bowels shall be your heir. And he brought him outside, and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if you are able to count them; and he said to him, So shall your seed be.'


Genesis 18.10 - 14

And [the Angel Messenger Speaking in behalf of The Lord God] He Said, [Referring to The Lord God]  'I will certainly return to you at this season; and, lo, Sarah your wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well advanced in age; and it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.  Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am grown old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the Lord said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old? Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return to you, at this season, and Sarah shall have a son.'

 


Bereisheit 21.1

וַיהוָֹה פָּקַד אֶת־שָׂרָה כַּאֲשֶׁר אָמָר וַיַּעַשׂ יְהוָֹה לְשָׂרָה כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֵּר


Genesis 21.1

The Lord Remembered {Everything from Aleph to Tav of} Sarah Like He Said and The Lord Did for Sarah like He had Spoken. 


The Word Remember is normally associated with to remember, זָכַר  Zaw Chahr. However, in Bereisheit 21.1 our Creator Selected the word   וַיהוָֹה פָּקַד Vah HaShem - Paw Kahd.  Why did our Creator Select פקד instead of זכר ?  


פקד Paw Kahd as mentioned above means, to order, to command, to enumerate, to count, to number, to hold, to muster, to review, to appoint, to charge with, to entrust, to remember, to recall, to think of, to attend to, to punish, to take revenge...


זכר  Zaw Chahr means, to remember, to recollect, to recall, to bear in mind, to bring to mind, to mention, to allude to, to commit to memory, to memorize...


I think the answer may be in the Words  פָּקַד אֶת־שָׂרָה He Recalled everything from Aleph to Tav for Sarah.  We observe our Creator, The Lord Stating during Sukkot that year, that He Would Establish His Covenant with Isaac.


Genesis 17.21

But My covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time in the next year.


Chronologically this was after the other promises. Genesis 15.1 - 5 was when Abraham was 70 years of age. Genesis 18.10 - 14 was when Abraham was 99 years old. This promise of establishing the Covenant was after Sarah was impregnated with Isaac.  Both Abraham and Sarah were old yet they took refuge in the Promise of The Lord God. Issac was not born yet. They trusted in the promises of The Lord God. We are often in a place where we remember reading an inspiring Scripture from The Holy Scriptures. The Scripture gets our attention. We cling to that Scripture. That Scripture gives us hope for tomorrow and the next day and the next...


The Word פָּקַד Paw Kahd, meaning to remember... to recall... to review... to count... to number... is the Gematria 184

The Word הַמִּקְלָט Ha Meek Lawt meaning to take refuge is the Gematria 184. Mystically we see that one can trust The Lord God's Accounting... His promises to recall... to remember...
