צִוָּה יְהוָֹה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה
Dear Friends this lesson is from two excerpts from my Book entitled, God's Plan for Man From The Beginning that is to be released soon.
During the course of this book, I will point to Scriptures where the Hebrew is entirely omitted in English translations. Where the Hebrew meaning is changed in English Translations and where the entire Hebrew meaning is not translated into English. This may sound like a conspiracy, but it isn't. Translation is not an easy task. There are areas where misunderstandings occur. I think perhaps many of these misunderstandings result from a failure to maintain a clear path of continuity in translation. Continuity is extremely difficult to maintain. Every possible situation should be considered when translating to give the very best possible translation. One must sweat and struggle when translating. Translations should not omit, cut corners or determine that some details are not necessary to relate to the reader. Let's consider an example from the first Scripture of the Bible that we began discussing in Chapter Four. 'Most English versions of the Bible omit two VERY IMPORTANT WORDS in their translations. They omit the Words אֵת Eht.'
בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ: ב
In the beginning, God Created the heavens and the earth.
This is the standard translation for Genesis 1.1 This is a good translation yet it fails to drive home the entirety of The Lord God's Creating. Most English versions of the Bible omit two VERY IMPORTANT WORDS in their translations. They omit the Words אֵת Eht. The Bible says, אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם , Eht Hah Shaw Mah Yeem, meaning everything from the first Letter of the Aleph-Bet, the Aleph, to the last Letter of the Aleph-Bet, the Tav, of the Heavens וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ , everything from the first Letter of the Aleph-Bet, the Aleph, to the last Letter of the Aleph-Bet, the Tav, of the earth.
The First Letter of the Hebrew Aleph Bet is the Letter א Aleph. The last Letter of the Hebrew Aleph Bet is the Letter ת Tav. Please look at them below. Remember Hebrew is read from Right to Left.
ת Tav - Aleph א
א - ת
א ב ג ד ה ו ז ח ט י כ ל מ נ ס ע פ צ ק ר ש ת
Again, the Word אֵת Eht means 'everything from the first Letter of The Aleph Bet, The Aleph to the last Letter of the Aleph Bet the Tav. The Word אֵת Eht is used to emphasize entirety. It is all inclusive! Nothing is excluded! All is included. This is an absolute way of saying that The Lord God Created everything in the Heavens, Spiritual and unspiritual, matter and nonmatter. NOTHING is omitted! The same is true for The Earth. This is an absolute way of saying The Lord God Created everything in the Earth Spiritual and unspiritual, matter and nonmatter. NOTHING is omitted! Aryeh Kaplan The Bahir ( Lanham, Maryland, Rowman & Littlefield Publishers) 1st edition, 2004 pp 108 - 109
The Aleph Represents The Lord God. The Tav represents Truth.
Eht Everything From Aleph to Tav
א1 ת400 = 401
Taw / ' Cell / Little
ת400 א1 = 401
At B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC we translate Genesis 1.1 as:
In the Beginning God Created everything from the first Letter of The Aleph Bet, The Aleph to the last Letter of the Aleph-Bet, the Tav of the Heavens and everything from the first Letter of The Aleph Bet, The Aleph to the last Letter of the Aleph-Bet, the Tav of the Earth.
This is much longer than simply saying, In the beginning God Created the heavens and the earth.
Once a reader understands the meaning of the Word אֵת Eht we modify it to:
In the Beginning God Created everything from The Aleph to the Tav of the Heavens and everything from The Aleph to the Tav of the Earth.
The problem translating Genesis 1.1 as In the beginning God Created the heavens and the earth. Is that it does not stress the entirety of Creation, i.e. all the inclusiveness of Creation! The clear understanding that nothing in Creating the Heavens or the Earth was excluded is very important. Everything is included. When this translation is clearly understood many religious teachings about life after death are exposed as false or misleading. Now we take this a step further. We discuss how this impacts each of us. Regardless of our individual concept of Heaven, we know Heaven is complete wherever Heaven is. Remember, the Lord God Created everything from Aleph to Tav of the Heavens. Do you know what this means?
This means when the Heavens were completed and The Lord God Rested from His Creating, each of our names were written in the Book of life. This means the Lord God has a place prepared for each of us in The Heavens. There is nothing more required. NOTHING was omitted in Creating The Heavens. No further preparation is necessary. It is done! Heaven is complete. Dear Ones, this also includes our salvation, our redemption from sin and eternal life in Heaven. Yet, unfortunately, everyone will not go to Heaven. We know the generations in Noah's Time were blotted out. They did not want to improve. Their hearts were continually evil. We will discuss this in Chapter Twenty-Five, Sin.
It is the Truth; God Has a special place prepared from creation for each of us. It has ALWAYS been this way. Who can describe the beauty and spender of The Heavens? We know the Heavens are so wonderfully prepared and arranged. Every detail was handcrafted by The Master Builder. Total purity and righteousness are in every street and home. Not a dot of sin exists. Suffering, discomfort and deformities are unknown. The Holy Place Heaven is arrayed by materials finer than a man can imagine. There is always a light on. Your mansion or Teepee or Igloo or cabin is prepared and awaiting your arrival. All that I am trying to say is when our day arrives everything is ready for our arrival.
In the Christian New Testament, we read a quote attributed to Rabbi Jesus, 'Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, also believe in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may also be. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.'
Again, our place with our name plaque on the entrance gate and the mansion doors, in The Heavens has already been prepared from the beginning of creation. Heaven is entirely perfect wonderful and complete. There is nothing anyone can add to this wonderful, perfect place. There is no need for anyone to go and prepare a place that has existed since the creation of the world.
