There are three Torah Revelations we want to discuss.

First, is the Gematria of Eht Haw Ohr

א1 ת400   ה5 א1 ו6 ר200 = 613

There are 613 Observances written within The Five Books of Moshe, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These Observances were at that time Given to all. 2448 years later the 613 Observances of Ha Torah were separated from the people of the world, i.e. the B'nai Noach for The People of Israel Bnei Yisroel to follow. How do we know this?

The Lord God Gave the revelation on Day One when He Said, 'Let My Light be Revealed'.

Bereisheit 1.1 - 4

Genesis 1.1 - 4

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And a wind from God moved upon the face of the waters. 3  And God said, Let there be light; [Let My Light Be Revealed] and there was light. 4  And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Second is the Word Eht אֵת At B'nai Noach Torah Institute we define Eht to mean 'Everything from the First Letter of The Aleph Bet, i.e. The א Aleph to the last Letter of The Aleph Bet, i.e. The ת Tav. Why do we do this?

The First usage of Eth was  אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם  eth Ha Shaw Mah Yeem meaning 'Everything from the First Letter of The Aleph Bet, i.e. The א Aleph to the last Letter of The Aleph Bet, i.e. The ת Tav.  This is all inclusive. Everything in the Heavens was Created by God. The Second usage is וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ Vih Ayt  Haw Aw Rehtz meaning 'And 'Everything from the First Letter of The Aleph Bet, i.e. The א Aleph to the last Letter of The Aleph Bet, i.e. The ת Tav of the earth. This is also inclusive. Everything on earth was Created by God.

Third is Revelation is יוֹם אֶחָד Day One.  The original language does NOT Say The first day. Ha Torah Says Day One.  Day One has no beginning because it represents The Creator who is without beginning or end.

The Bridge Of Righteousnessss

This year our goal is to use several of my study books to help guide this class. The Study books can be ordered on the internet at:   http://www.bnti.us/books.html

There is one Torah Revelations we want to discuss.

The Gematria of הַתֵּבָה of Hah Tay Vah is 412. This is the same Gematria as בֵּית Bay תeet meaning house.

Bereisheit 7.1

Genesis 7.1

And He HaShem  / The Lord Said to Noach you go and your household into the Tava / Ark for I have seen you are righteous before me in this generation.

Hah Tay Vah

ה5 ת400 ב2 ה5 = 412

ּBay Yeet ? House

ב2 י10 ת400 = 412

When we examine the Word צַדִּיק Tzah Deek meaning Righteous the Gematria is 204. Noach was Righteous.  and Noach was Righteous in his generation.  The Word דֹּר Dohr meaning Generation is also the Gematria of 204. Sometimes the Letter ו Vav is between the Letter ד Dalet and ר Reish. When this happens the Gematria is 210.

Mystically we see the world continuing on because of eight Noachides. Noach was Righteous and because he was Righteous His family was chosen to carry Righteousness into the next world and into the next generation.  When I read the Words Saying that Noach was Righteous before Me in his generation. Mystically we Observe that Noach was righteous everyday before The Lord. Noach was Righteous all seven days of the week. Noach was Righteous on Day Seven. We MUST REMEMBER that we are always before The Lord. Everything w do is before The Lord. The difference between Noach and many of us is Noach lived like everything he did was before The Lord.  To much emphasis is placed on 'In This generation'. More emphasis should be placed on 'Noach was Righteous Before Me צַדִּיק לְפָנַי everyday of the week, i.e all seven days. Mystically we Observe that בְּשֶׁבַע Bih Shaw Vah means with seven or through seven or in seven.

Tzah Deen Lih Faw Nai / Righteous Before [The Lord]

צ90 ד4 י10 ק100   ל30 פ80 נ50 י10 = 374

Bih Shaw Vah / With Seven or Through Seven or In Seven

ב2 ש300 ב2 ע70 = 374

Serving The Lord is 24 / 7.

How are we Influenced By The Letter כ ך Chof ?

By Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk

Dean of Jewish Studies at B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC

Course Textbook

http://www.bnti.us/books.html

We continue on Page 34

The normal Letter כ  Chof looks like a reversed letter c in English. The Final Letter Chof looks like and upside down capital letter L from English.  The Gematria of Chof is 20. When the Letter Chof is at the end of a Word the Gematria maybe either 20 or 500.

Bereisheit 12.1 -

Genesis 12.1

And He, The Lord Said to Avram, Go! Get Out! from your land and from your relatives and from your Father's House to go to the Land that I will show you.

This is like saying 'Go to a land that I will show you and Get away from your land and from your relatives and from your Father's House.  This was a Message to Avram and to Sarai.

Genesis 11.26

And Terah lived seventy years, and fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

It would appear like Abram, Nahor, and Haran were triplets. We know Avram was born in 1948 F. C. [From Creation].  Our Sages Teach Avram left Charan for the first time at the age of 70. Genesis 15 took place when Avraham was 70 years old.  Five years later Avram left Charan the second time at the age of 75. This means when Avram left Charan at the age of 75 his Father would have been 145 years of age. So when Ha Torah Says Terach died at the age of 205 this would have been 60 years from When Avraham left his land, his relatives and his Father's house.

Genesis 11.32

And the days of Terach were two hundred and five years; and Terach died in Haran.

Genesis 12.4

So Abram departed, as the Lord Had [Previously] spoken to him; and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy five years old when he departed from Charan.

Terach lived 60 years after Avram departed Charan. Yet, at the time Avram left his Father it was like he was a dead man. This is the message we are given when Ha Torah says Terach lived to 205 years then died. Yet, we know In Genesis 15 Avram received a prophecy that when he would live to advanced in years and then he would go to be with his Fathers. Our Sages Say this included Terach who use to be an Idol maker. Terach repented before his death The Letter כ Chof had the power to reverse Terach life style.

Genesis 15.15

And you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.

We Mystically Observe the influence of the Chof in the following three Words.

ך = 20

ך = 20

ך = 20

60

The Word הַהֹלֵךְ Ha Hoh Laych means 'To Go' The Gematria is 60. In addition we know this is in relationship to Avram beause Genesis 13.5 Says.

Ha Hoh Laych / To Go

ה5 ה5 ל30 ך20 = 60

Bereisheit 13.5

Genesis 13.5

And Lot also, went to go with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

Lih Loht / To Lot or Also Lot

ל30 ל30 ו6 ט9 = 75

75 is the age Avram left Charan.

Mystically we see many interesting nuggets. We Observe that the Letter Chof would change Avram. In Avot, i.e. Ethics of our Fathers we read, Rav Yehudah Said, Be careful in study for an error in study amounts to presumption. Rav Shimon Said, there are three Crowns. There is the Crown of Ha Torah, the Crown of the Priesthood and the crown of Royalty. However the Crown of a good name excels them all, Avot 4.13.

Genesis 12.2

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing;

We know The Lord God Changed Avram's name in Genesis 17.

Genesis 17.5-7

Neither shall your name any more be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I Made you. And I Will Make you exceedingly fruitful, and I Will Make nations of you, and kings shall come out of you. And I Will Establish My Covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you, and to your seed after you.

We have been discussing different applications of  אֶת־הָאוֹר The Light, i.e. the Revelation of The Lord the past three lessons.

Eht Haw Ohr

א1 ת 400     ה5 א1 ו6 ר200 = 613

616 Mitzvot

We have examined the relationship of The Torah and the number 613. The number 613 represents the 613 observances given to all humankind originally then in 2448 F.C.  the majority of the 613 Observances were placed upon The People of Israel. Now, chronologically the discussion here in Ha Torah is taking place hundreds of years before the separating of the Mitzvot / Commandments from B'nai Noach to B'nei Yisroel.

In Genesis 1.1 - 4 we discovered that the Light, i.e. The Revelation of God's Will for us preceded the creation of the sun, moon and and stars which were Created on the Fourth Day.  We learn that the 613 Commands of Ha Torah flow out from the Words God Spoke, 'Let My Light Be Revealed.' We learn of the great importance of the 613 Commands for each of us.

In week three we learned that the Spiritual Light, i.e. The Shekinah covered Adam and Chavah from there creation until there sin. When they sinned the Spiritual Light departed from them. They were uncovered .  They were naked. They needed a covering. The Creator Provided a skin covering for them. The serpent shed his skin. The Creator took the shed skin from the serpent along with goats hair and lamb's wool to fashion coats for our first parents. Spiritual Light is represented by the Letter א Aleph. The Letter אלף Aleph is the first Letter in Name of Godאלהים . and and the first Letter of אֶת־הָאוֹר Eht Ha Ohra. Adam and Chavah were created to live forever in Gan Eden but because of there sin they were expelled. The Orah, the Spiritual Light departed our parents. Later the עור orah / the skin of the serpent and the hair from goats and the wool from lambs would be combined to covered their bodies. Notice the עור  orah is spelled beginning with the Letter ע Ayin which has to do with vision, sight, the eyes. Chavah saw that the Tree of knowledge of good and evil was good for food... She saw the fruit was pleasant to the eyes and Chavah saw it was a tree to be desired to make one wise.   So to a degree Adam and Chavah sinned because of gazing upon Tree of knowledge of good and evil and because of their disobedience.

All humanity was weakened because of our parents failure. They did not implore the Mitzvot of Ha Torah. Unfortunately they let their guard down.  They allowed themselves to be vulnerable to the craftiness of the serpent.

They were warned in advance about the serpent when they were placed in Gan Eden.

Bereisheit 2.15

Genesis 2.15

And the Lord God took everything from the Aleph to the Tav of them [ha Adam], and put him into the Garden of Eden to guard it and to work it.

Adam and Chavah had the upper hand.  They were in control. They failed to use the tools given to them by The Lord God. When we sin it is normally the same for us. We did not use all of our resources to defeat the enemy.

Bereisheit 22.1

Genesis 22.1

And it happened after the words, the oath and then God tested everything from the letter Aleph to the letter Tav of Avraham, and He said to Avraham, and he [Avraham answered], Here I am.

The fifth, sixth and seventh words equal the Gematria 613. Vih Haw El-Him - Nee Saw - Eht - Avraham 'And then God tested everything from the letter Aleph to the letter Tav [of Avraham].

This reminds us when we are going through tests to remember to observe the 613 Commands of Ha Torah.  The Mitzvot are our protection. The Observances are our shield. It is difficult to stand when going through tests.  Sometimes it is challenging to observe the 613 Commands of Ha Torah when going through tests. One feels like they need to be protected, like they need to be shielded. Just as sheep are gathered into a corral we need to be gathered into the corral of the Great Shepherd, HaShem.  The boundaries of the fence are the 613 Commands of Ha Torah

613 Mitzvot / Commands of Ha Torah

Vih Haw El-him - Nee Saw - Eht - Avraham

 ו6 ה5 א1 ל30 ה5 י110ם40   נ50 ס60 ה5   א1 ת400  = 613

Protective Fence Pen or Corral

ג3 ד4 ר200 ו6 ת400 =613

Remember Satan's complaint to the Creator with regards to Job.  You have built a hedge... a fence around him...

Job 1.10

You have made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side. You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

When Adam and Chavah sinned there was a breach in their hedge in their fence.  Ask this question would you rater be tested with in the protection of the fence or outside of the protective fence?

Avraham opened the door for his descendants to receive the 613 Mitzvahs of Torah.  How?  Avraham went on a discovery of God. Avraham trusted God. Avraham was obedient to God.

The Akeidah was to prove that there was strength in the agreement between God and Avraham.   It was to place the agreement between God and Avraham on trial.  Avraham was tested to see if he would obey God's Command.  We are also tested to see if we will obey God's Commands.   Now, we are not commanded to sacrifice our children as Avraham was, Thank God!   Yet we are tested.  When we are tested, our test can reach the same Spiritual places as our Father Avraham.

Avraham faced his test relying on what God had promised him.  We share in the promises of our father Avraham.  Each generation from Avraham until now shares in the Covenant between God and the People of Israel. Our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren share in our agreement.  Yet like Avraham we must be tested to demonstrate the dedication, honor and strength of our agreement with God.

So we are going to be tested. The question is do we want to be tested with in the protection of the fence or outside of the protective fence? Will we use the Observances of Ha Torah to help shield us in our times of being tested. Will we use all of our resources to succeed? God Willing!

Bereisheit 23.1

Genesis 23.1

And it was the lifetime of Sarah, one hundred years, and twenty years and seven years, [These were the] years of Sarah's life.

Parshat Chayei Sarah begins with the words Vah Yeeh Yoo- Chah Yay Sarah, meaning, and it was the lifetime of Sarah. One should inquire, what was the lifetime of Sarah? In so doing they would find these three words reveal rich treasures. The Gematria of Vah Yeeh Yoo - Chah Yay Sarah is 570. Why is 570 so special? There are many Gematrias of 570.

This was the lifetime of Sarah

ו6י10ה5י10ו6 ח8י10י10 ש300ר200ה5 = 570

Shema [Yisroel]

ש300י10ן50 מ40ם40 ע70י10ן50 = 570

To Be Rich

ע70 ש300 ר200 = 570

The number 570 represents the lifetime of Sarah our Matriarch and richness. Sarah Emeinu / our mother's, lifetime was one of great wealth. Her life was filled with richness.

Shlomo Ha Melech / King Soloman said, An accomplished wife who can find? Far beyond [rich] pearls is her value. Mishlei / Proverbs 31.10

Our sages Teach Sarah's tent was Sarah's Temple. Sarah Emeinue brought Holiness into her home. Her home was no ordinary tent. It had extraordinary qualities: A cloud [the Shekinah] of Holiness [resting over it], doors which proclaimed their openness to all passers-by, a blessing in her dough, a Sabbath lamp that remained lit all week long. These miracles were not Abraham's doing; they ceased with Sarah's death. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereisheit Vol. I(b) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 832

The Shekinah over Sarah's Home represented that this was a holy home. God's Presence Rested over it. The home was protected! There were special blessings of satisfaction in Sarah's dough that flowed out to the entire community. Just as the bread of the Bet HaMikdosh / the Holy Temple Brought prosperity and abundance to B'nei Yisroel, so did Sarah's bread. Sarah's Esau candles represented spiritual growth that would begin with each Erev Esau and last all week. When Sarah died all of these vanished. With Sara's death the Cloud of Glory over the tent vanished, the blessing in the dough ceased, and the candle that had burnt in the tent from one Erev Sabbath to the next was extinguished. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p. 210

When Sarah lived a cloud covered her tent; when she died, the cloud left. When Rebekah came, the cloud returned. When Sarah lived, the doors to her tent were wide open. When Sarah died the liberal giving ceased. When Rebekah came, the liberal giving returned. When Sarah lived, there was blessing upon her dough. The Sabbath candle / oil burn from the evening of the Sabbath until the evening of the following Sabbath. When Sarah died, these ceased. When Rebekah came they returned. Rabbi Dr. H. Freedman, Midrash Rabba Genesis II (New York, NY: The Soncino Press 1983) p 538

Our Parshat begins with Yitzchok pleading to HaShem for children.

Genesis 25.20, 21

And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah for his wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Padan-Aram, the sister to Laban the Aramean.  And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Our Gematria Parshat begins with Isaac taking Rebekah as his wife. He was forty years old. Rebekah was three years old.  Isaac was born when Abraham was 100 years old in 2048 From Creation.  Rebekah was born in 2095 F. C.  This was the year of the Akidiah  when Abraham took Isaac up Mt Moriah to be offered as a sacrifice. How do we know this?

The Torah Says Abraham was 10 years older than Sarah his wife. [Abraham said, '...Shall a child be born to him who is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear? - Genesis 17.17

The Torah Says Sarah was 127 years when she died. Genesis 23.1-2.

The ages are based upon Bereisheit 23.1.  Sarah is 127, Avraham is 137 and Yitzchok is 37.  It is immediately after the Akeidah that Avraham 'was informed [by HaShem] that his son's mate had been born. This is in accordance with Genesis 22.20-24. 'And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also born children to your brother Nahor... and Bethuel fathered Rebekah...' Rabbi Dr. H. Freedman, Midrash Rabba (New York, NY: The Soncino Press 1983) - Midrash Rabbah writes, Tamar was the daughter of Shem. p 504

It is at this chronological time Abraham is informed of the birth of Rebekah. The soul of Sarah transmigrates to Rebekah. This is how in part we know that Rebekah was 3 years old when Isaac was 40 years old. In addition Genesis 24.16 provides more information

Bereisheit 25.22,23

Genesis 25.22,23

And they crushed [and bruised and struggled] the sons inside her, and when this happened she questioned why is this happening to me?  And she went to inquire from Aleph to Tav about this from HaShem.  Bereisheit 25.22

And He Said HaShem to her, 'Two nations are in your womb and two peoples will separate from within you and to one people will be fullness [and great] boldness and the great will serve the junior.' Bereisheit 25.23

This historical event we are discussing was in the year 2098 F.C.

For those in the 21st century this will seem strange. It maybe strange for people in the 21st century but it was common for people living in

Bereisheit 24.16

Genesis 24.16

And the girl [damsel] was very pretty to look upon, a virgin, and no man had known her; [i.e. she had not practiced unnatural intimacy] and she went down to the well, and filled her vessel and came up.

Genesis 24.16. KJV uses the word damsel.  See Strong's reference # 5291, (a girl from infancy to adolescence).   It is immediately after the Akeidah that Avraham 'was informed [by HaShem] that his son's soulmate [Rebekah] had been born. This is in accordance with Genesis 22.20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also born children to your brother Nahor... and Bethuel fathered Rebekah...' Rabbi Dr. H. Freedman, Midrash Rabba (New York, NY: The Soncino Press 1983) - Midrash Rabbah writes, Tamar was the daughter of Shem. p 504

Yitzchok and Rivkah did not consummate their marriage until she was twelve or thirteen. This means nine years passed.  Rebekah was now 12 and Isaac was 49 years of age. It was at this time that they consummated their marriage. Then they have no children after ten years of a normal husband wife relationship. Instead of taking a second wife as his Father Avraham did Isaac prays for his wife to have children. Within the next year they had a child see Bereisheit 25.21 - 26.  Isaac was sixty years of age and Rebekah was 23 years of age.

The girl.. Vih Hah Nah Ah Raw Rivkah was only three.    See Bereisheit 24.16. Her mother and brother refer to Rivkah as לנערה Lah Hah Nah Ah Raw, the girl. See Bereisheit 24.57.  They felt she was attached to her present family.  They felt she was too young to leave home even though boys and girls then, were much different than they are today.  They were more developed.  They were more intelligent.  They worked from a very young age.  To verify this consider, Yaakov's children.  All in all five references in Ha Torah refer to Rivkah as a young girl.

Yaakov's oldest child Reuben, who was born after Yaakov had worked for Laban for seven years, kept the flock for his father, which was a three-day journey away.  Ha Torah states, He gave them [the sheep] to his sons, Bereisheit 30.35.  Ha Torah states, He [Yaakov] placed them a three days journey [away], Bereisheit 30.36.  How old were his sons when this happened?  This was after Yaakov had served Laban for 14 years.  He served seven years for Leah and seven years for Rachel, then he served six years for his cattle. {Bereisheit 31.41}  This means that Reuben was no older than six years three months old when he began keeping his father's flocks with his brothers.  Reuben was born to Yaakov after Yaakov had worked for seven years.  Yaakov then worked an additional seven years.  It was during the first year of that second seven-year period that Yaakov's first wife, Leah, gave birth.  This was the birth of Reuben.  Now all the other brothers were much younger.  The second son, Shimon, was around five.  Levi, the third son, was around four.   Judah was close to three.  It was at this point that Rachel gave Bilhah to Yaakov.  So, dear reader, we see that Ha Torah establishes the age of children who worked a full day, and who were responsible to be much younger than children today.

Now this proves that the age of Rivkah, three,  when she married Yitzchok was not out of the question.  It is well within the realm of possibility!!  Yet this is why they sent Devorah, Rivkah's nurse, along with her.

Interesting letters are added to several of the words in the first Passuk / Verse.  This is not by mistake.  I have noted the letters.  The Yud represents the intensity of the struggle between Esau and Yaakov.  The Tav in Vah Yeet Roh Tzah Tzoo represents that this fighting in the womb of Rivkah was a sign.  The Tav in Vah Toh Mehr represents another sign.  Rivkah spoke out loud to her sons.  Why are you fighting?  Like a mother would say to her children, Why are you fighting / hurting your brother?  Yet this was very puzzling to Rivkah.

Our sages state that when Rivkah would pass by the doorways of Torah study at the school of Shem and Evier, Yaakov would rush to come out, and when Rivkah would pass by houses of idol worship Esau would rush to come out. Can you imagine how Rivkah must have felt?

Let's examine this a little closer. Shih Nay - Goh Yeem - Bih Veet Naych {Two nations are in your womb} Within these three words there are two unique acrostics. An acrostic is the composition in which certain letters in a line form a word or words. In the first acrostic notice the first Letter, i.e. on the right.  In the second acrostic notice the last Letter on the left.

The first acrostic is from the first letter of each of the three words below from the phrase Shih Nay - Goh Yeem - Bih Veet Naych. This is noted in the first example. The second acrostic is taken from the last letter of the last two words of the same phrase. The second acrostic follows the first as Yaakov followed Esau in birth. This acrostic is taken from the last letter of the last two words of the same phrase. I noted this by making these letters darker.  Esau was the first born.  The first acrostic refers to him.

Saw Gahv {to be high, mighty, strong, extolled, sublime}.

ש300 ג3 ב2 = 305

[Final Mem]       מ = ם  [Normal Mem]

 מך

Mawch {poor, humble}

מ40 ך20 = 60

The second acrostic describes Yaakov the second born son, the son who fled from his brother.  Yaakov was the son who for twenty years was the poor son.  From a lesson in a course {Torah 203} at B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC entitled Yaakov's Staff we take the following quote which discusses Yaakov's poverty: 'Our sages teach that when Yaakov fled his father Yitzchok's home, Elifaz, the son of Esau, went after him {Yaakov} and overtook him. Elifaz was ordered by his evil father Esau to murder his Uncle Yaakov. Yet Elifaz was raised by his grandfather Yitzchok. Elifaz did not want to disobey his father's order to kill his Uncle Yaakov, even though he realized it was an evil order. Elifaz recognized this responsibility to his father, yet he also recognized his responsibility to do righteousness... When he overtook his Uncle Yaakov he explained his predicament. His Uncle Yaakov helped him sort things out.

...Yaakov's counsel to his nephew was to take everything that he [Yaakov] had with him because a poor man is considered dead. So Elifaz heeded his Uncle Yaakov's counsel and took everything but Yaakov's clothes and staff.

So from the same three word phrase Shih Nay - Goh Yeem - Bih Veet Naych {Two nations are in your womb} we have the acrostic of Saw Gahv {to be high, mighty, strong, extolled, sublime} representing Esau and the acrostic of Mawch {poor, humble} representing Yaakov. The Gematria of שגב Saw Gahv is 305.  The Gematria of מך Mawch is 60.

The Gematria 305 through Mysticism describes the actions and intent of Esau in the word להרע Lih Haw Rah {to hurt, harm; to do evil} which is what Ha Torah states Esau intended to do to his brother Yaakov. Esau said in his heart, 'The days of mourning for my father are approaching. I will then kill everything from Aleph to Tav of my brother, Yaakov,'  Bereisheit 27.41.  Esau's evil intention was to make it seem as if Yaakov had never been born or existed.

להרע Lih Haw Rah {to hurt, harm; to do evil}

ל30 ה5 ר200ע70 = 305

הלכה Ha Law Chawh {law, rule, tradition}

ה5 ל30 כ20 ה5 = 60

In the Gematria 60 we see reverence for God and reverence for His Commands in Ha Torah in the word הלכה Hah Law Chawh {law, rule, tradition}. It was Yaakov who loved to study Hah Law Chawh, according to our sages. Yaakov who loved to dwell in tents of learning. Yaakov learned with Shem, the righteous son of Noach, and with Eiver, the righteous great grandson of Shem.

So among these two nations we see Esau, the high, mighty and strong one, subdued by Yaakov, the younger, the humble student of Ha Torah!

Genesis 31.1-3

And he heard everything from Aleph to Tav of the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob has taken away everything from Aleph to Tav of all that was our father's; and from that which was our father's has he gotten everything from Aleph to Tav of all this, the honor. And Jacob saw everything from Aleph to Tav of Laban's face, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. 3  And The Lord Said to Jacob, Return to the land of your fathers, and to your family; and I Will be with you.

Jacob actually heard Words. The Lord God can speak to you in a crowd of people and you maybe the only one to Hear His Voice and Words. On the other Hand Everyone present may hear His Voice and Words. A few select individuals may be included. However here only Jacob heard The Words of The Lord God. How do we know this? Ha Torah Says, And The Lord Said to Jacob.

One may wonder, how often does The Lord God Speak to humankind? Would you be surprised to learn that from Creation up until this conversation The Lord God is recorded as Having Spoke with only 13 humans? This is only the 36th conversation from creation until Genesis 31.3.

The Gematria of  וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָֹה אֶל־יַעֲקֹב Vah Yoh Mehr - HaShem Ehl Yaakov - Meaning And The Lord Said to Jacob. The Gematria of these four Words is 496. We can Mystically Observe that within The Lord God's Words is His Kingdom. Let's say it like this. Everything in the world and in the universe outside of The Lord God is constructed by The Word of The Lord God. Everything that exists exists because of the Power of His Word. I share this so that we may realize the ultimate power of The Lord God's Word. It is God's Word that holds every kingdom together...

The Words the ten phrases that The Lord God Spoke have maintained this universe from the beginning. Think of the power within These Words The Lord God. Think of the keeping power... Think of maintaining power of The Lord God's Words...

Mah Lih Choo Toh

מ40 ל30 צ20 ת400 ו6 = 496

We should think of The Lord's Kingdom with the same reflection. Ever since The Lord God Created everything from Aleph to Tav of the Heavens and everything from Aleph to Tav of the earth they were completed. Nothing remains to be completed. Nothing more remains to be done. This is the power of The Lord God's Word... So now we think about what it means for the Lord God to Speak to one of us as He did with Jacob. We reflect on that contact with The Lord God. Can we imagine the impact? Can we imagine the reslut of having Contact with The Lord God?

Genesis 27.30-45 expresses how Esau felt after Isaac Blessed Jacob.

And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had finished blessing Jacob, and Jacob had scarcely gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.  And he also had made savory food, and brought it to his father, and said to his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that your soul may bless me.  And Isaac his father said to him, Who are you? And he said, I am your son, your firstborn Esau. And Isaac trembled very much, and said, Who then is he who hunted venison, and brought it to me, and I have eaten of all before you came, and have blessed him? moreover, he shall be blessed. And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and very bitter cry, and said to his father, Bless me, me also, O my father. And he said, Your brother came with cunning, and has taken away your blessing.  And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he has supplanted me these two times; he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he has taken away my blessing. And he said, Have you not reserved a blessing for me?   And Isaac answered and said to Esau, Behold, I have made him your lord, and all his brothers have I given to him for servants; and with grain and wine have I sustained him; and what shall I do now to you, my son?  And Esau said to his father, Have you but one blessing, my father? bless me, me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.  And Isaac his father answered and said to him, Behold, your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;  And by your sword shall you live, and shall serve your brother; and it shall come to pass when you shall have the dominion, that you shall break his yoke from off your neck.  And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him; and Esau said in his heart, When the days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.  And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah; and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said to him, Behold, your brother Esau comforts himself by planning to kill you. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee to Laban my brother to Haran;  And remain with him a few days, until your brother's fury turns away;  Until your brother's anger turns away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him; then I will send, and fetch you from there; why should I be deprived of both of you in one day?

Esau sent his oldest son to murder his brother, Jacob. However Elifaz did not want to murder Jacob because of his love and closeness to his Grandfather Isaac who raised him. In addition he had a fondness for Jacob who was often present with his grandfather studying... Jacob learned at the school of Shem, i.e. Melchizedek and Eber which was close to the home of Isaac and Rebekah. After each days learning Jacob would visit with his father. Isaac would test Jacob. They would discuss Ha Torah together. So how could Elifaz murder his uncle Jacob? Yet, he needed to obey his father, Esau. What was Elifaz to do? Elifaz was conflicted!  Elifaz over took Jacob left his parents with great wealth. His caravan traveled slow because he had servants and cattle and much wealth given to him by Isaac and Rebekah. Elifaz over took his caravan. Elifaz discussed his problem with his uncle Jacob.

Jacob explained to his nephew Elifaz that a man who didn't have wealth was like a dead man. Jacob said take my wealth then you can tell your father what you have done. He will understand that I am poor and without resources and like a dead man. Elifaz did this. Genesis 32.11 is a reflection of what Elifaz did. Yet the Blessing of Isaac was with Jacob. What Blessing?

Genesis 28.1 -

And Isaac called Jacob, and Blessed him, and charged him, and said to him, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. Arise, go to Padan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father; and take a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother. And God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a multitude of people; 4  And give the blessing of Abraham to you, and to your seed with you; that you may inherit the land where you are a stranger, which God gave to Abraham.

So now we look at this מַקַּל Mah Qahl this stick, this rod, this staff in Jacob's hand. Ha Torah Tells us that Jacob to this stick this rod this staff and placed it in the waters where

Genesis 39.2

And the He, The Lord Existed in everything from Aleph to Tav with Joseph, and he was a successful man and he prevailed in the house of his master the Egyptian.

There are three connecting Letters used in this eleven Word sentence. What Letters are the connecting Letters? There three connecting Words. Identify the connecting Words. The connecting Words are spelled the same. What are the three Words? Each connecting Word makes an important statement.

The Letter ו Vav is the connecting Letter. Vah Yih Hee is the connecting Word.

And the He, The Lord Existed in everything from Aleph to Tav with Joseph...

and he was a successful man

We see the prevailing in the Hebrew.

and he prevailed in the house of his master the Egyptian.

How do we know Joseph prevailed?  The Word  וַיְהִי was used three times. This is a sign. This is not by mere chance. Normally  וַיְהִי means 'And it happened'  or 'And it was. When ever we read this Word look for the hand of The Lord. Nothing just happens by chance.  Notice that  וַיְהִי has the Letter י Yud at the beginning and end of the Word. The Letter ו Vav is a connecting Letter. The Letters of וַיְהִי when rearranged spell the Name of The Lord.

The Letter י Yud is the smallest Letter in the Aleph Bet. Yet, the Letter י Yud represents strength. Anytime one Observes the Letter י Yud twice in a Word this indicates great strength.  The Letter י Yud is used to refer to the Name of The Lord, i.e. יי  The Gematria of  וַיְהִי is 31. In וַיְהִי we see God.

And it happened... And it was...

ו6 י10 ה5 י10 = 31

God

א1 ל30 = 31

3 x 31 = 93

Maw Gayn / Shield

מ40 ג3 ן50 = 93

Do you have a Gematria Sheet? Look at your Gematria sheet.

The full Gematria of  וַיְהִי is

ו = וו  = ו6 ו6 = 12

י = יוד  י10 ו6 ד4 = 20

ה = הא  = ה5 א1 = 6

י = יוד  = י10 ו6 ד4 = 20

58 = 20 + 6 + 20 + 12

Chayn / Grace... Beauty

ח8 ן50 = 58

The ה Hey, the ו Vav, and the י Yud are the three Hebrew Letters with the lowest numerical values. Yet, these three Letters are very great! These are the three Letters the Creator choose to spell His Name. When we are small we are great.  When we are like Joseph we are at our greatest potential. Joseph was rejected by his brothers and sold into slavery. Yet, Joseph came from a wealthy home. He had many fine things.  Joseph is the great grandson of Sarah and Abraham.

Joseph's brothers betrayed him. He was sold into slavery. While in slavery Joseph was accused of Sexual misconduct. Joseph was innocent yet he was imprisoned. Through all this The Lord God was with him. In Genesis 50.20 Joseph said to his brother, You thought was to do evil against me; but God meant your actions to be  good... There are many who maybe against us. They make try to do evil to us. Yet God can make everything they try to turn out good.

Osnat, A Praiseworthy Woman of Yaakov's House

Chapter 10

Bereisheit Mikeitz

Bereisheit / Genesis 41.1 - 44.17

 Bereisheit 41.45

And he, Pharaoh proclaimed Yoseif's [Egyptian] name Tzaw Pih Nat - Paheh Nay Ach and he gave everything from Aleph to Tav of Awsnat daughter of Poti Phera, Priest of On, for a wife, and He, Yoseif, emerged over the land of Mitzriam.   Bereisheit 41.45

In Parshas Mikeitz an interesting name surfaces. The name is אסנת Osnat, wife of Yoseif.  When we think of אסנת Osnat we should immediately think of אשרי Ahsh Ray... We should think of her as an individual who is praiseworthy.  We should also think of תקוה Teek Vaw...  We should think of Osnat as a woman of hope and expectation.

As a child Osnat was driven from Yaakov's house by her uncles according to Pirkei d'Rabbi Eliezer. This was because her uncles were concerned that people would speak of licentiousness in their tents.  They were concerned that people would think that they were morally perverse.  As a result Yaakov engraved a metal plate and put it around Osnat' neck to protect her.  The metal plate was engraved with words to the effect that Osnat' parents were Shechem and Deenah and that whoever married her would be marrying a relative of Yaakov's family.

At this point Osnat was placed under a bush in a field and left.  Her name is a derivative of the word Si Neh {thorn bush}.  Through providence a Malach {messenger} took Osnat from under the thorn bush to the house of Potifer in Mitzriam.  He and his wife raised her as their own daughter.  Twenty-two years later Pharaoh ordered that Osnat marry Yoseif to vindicate Yoseif from any guilt brought on by the false accusation of her foster mother, Potifer's wife.  Potifer's wife accused Yoseif of sexual assault.  It is at this point that we make mention of the fact that the Midrash points out that at every birth of Yaakov's sons a twin daughter was born.  The purpose was so that the sons could marry sisters as wives.  However when Yoseif was born without a twin sister this was a sign that Yoseif would marry someone else, Osnat.  See Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(b) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), pp 1800, 1801; Rabbi Dr. H. Freedman, Midrash Rabba (New York, NY: The Soncino Press 1983) - Midrash Rabbah writes, Tamar was the daughter of Shem. p 829

From the inscription on the plate around her neck left under a bush she knew that she was a descendant of Yaakov as was Yoseif.  Somehow this surfaced.

We know that Yoseif would not have married outside of his household.  So we know at some point this connection had to be revealed to both of them.  Mystically the greatness is noted in Osnat.  The Gematria of her name is 511.  This is the same Gematria as that of Ahsh Ray {praiseworthy} and Teek Vaw {expectation}.  Osnat is praiseworthy for rejecting the lies of Zulaicha. Osnat is praiseworthy for returning to Judaism and she is praiseworthy for raising her children by Yoseif's tradition instead of her own.   Her praiseworthiness is so great that all Judaism blesses their children as Yaakov blessed Ephraim and Menasheh.

And you are commanded [to have your brothers do] this work. [Each of] you, take wagons from the land of Mitzriam to your children and to your wives everything from the letter Aleph to the letter Tav to your father and bring them [to Mitzriam]. Bereisheit 45.19

In Parshat Mikeitz we discussed the Gematria 511 and the relationships to Osnat, Yoseif's wife, and her praiseworthiness and her hope of meeting her grandfather Yaakov, who placed a special inscription around her neck that saved her life. That hope, that praise is realized in this week's parshat. And in addition to this, we realize other important Gematrias. Ha Torah states that when Pharaoh heard of Yoseif's brothers and father, he צֻוֵּיתָה Tzu Vay Taw {commanded}... Pharaoh commanded that they take wagons from Mitzriam to transport Yoseif's relatives to Canaan and back to Mitzriam. He commanded that Yoseif's relatives should not be concerned with their belongings. He commanded that the best of Mitzriam be provided for Yoseif's relatives.

Tzu Vay Taw {Commanded}

צ90 ו6 י10 ת400 ה5 = 511

Holy reader, we observe Pharaoh reacting to his appreciation for Yoseif. We observe Pharaoh reacting to the painful separation between Yoseif and his family. We observe Pharaoh sharing in Yoseif's joy and in Osnat's joy.

Pharaoh gives the command that we began with, we observe the result of that command. Ha Torah states that the sons of Yisroel transported everything from Aleph to Tav of their father Yaakov and everything from Aleph to Tav of their children and everything from Aleph to Tav of their wives בָּעֲגָלוֹת Baw Ah Gaw Loht {in wagons}. Bereisheit 46.6 Baw Ah Gaw Loht has the Gematria 511.

Bereisheit 46.6

And Arose, Yaakov from Beer Sheva, and the sons of Yisroel transported everything from Aleph to Tav of him, Yaakov their father, and everything from Aleph to Tav of the children, and everything from Aleph to Tav of their wives in wagons that Pharaoh sent to carry them [to Mitzriam].

Baw Ah Gaw Loht {in wagons}

ב2 ע70 ג3 ל30 ו6 ת400 = 511

511 = Tav 400 Vav 6 Lamid 30 Gimmel 3 Ayin 70 Bet 2

In the last chapter we observed this holy connection in relation to Osnat. In this chapter we observe this holy connection surrounding Yoseif and his dreams. In both instances we mystically observe the Gematria footprints of Yoseif and Osnat and Divine providence guiding... directing at difficult places in their lives through the Gematria of 511.

Bereisheit 47.28

And he, Yaakov lived in [the] land of Mitzriam / Egypt seventeen years. And the days of Yaakov, the years of his life were one hundred forty seven years. Bereisheit 47.28

Our parshat begins with the words, 'And lived He, Yaakov in the land of Mitzriam for seventeen years...' Bereisheit 47.28

Did Yaakov want to live outside of Eretz Canaan? No! Is Mitzriam where Yaakov wanted to live? No! Did Yaakov want to die in Mitzriam? No! Dear reader, our sages teach that when Yaakov journeyed to Mitzriam, the remaining five years of the famine immediately ended, upon his entrance into Mitzriam. That being the situation one may wonder / question, 'Then why did Yaakov stay in Mitzriam until his death?' Holy reader, the point is not complex. Even Yaakov the great tzaddik could not just leave Mitzriam and return to Eretz Canaan as he desired. The timing was not right. He had to remain in Mitzriam until his death.

The lesson here is that even though there are Jews who would desire to live in Eretz Yisroel, it may not be possible for them. And even though there are Jews who may strongly desire to live in an observant Jewish Community, it may not be possible for them. There are times that it is necessary to live just where we are. Then there are times that it may be necessary for one to actually move away from the land of Yisroel as Yaakov did. It may be necessary to move away from an observant Jewish community. One may wonder why. It may be for any number of reasons. However our point in this discussion is not to explore the why. Our point is to simply observe the words, Yaakov lived. Even though Yaakov preferred to live in Eretz Canaan he lived in Mitzriam. Even though Yaakov preferred to die in Eretz Canaan he lived in Mitzriam, knowing that he would die there.

Holy reader, there is a message in the words "Yaakov lived"! Yaakov was LIVING where he did not want to be. Yaakov was prospering in Mitzriam. Yaakov's children were greatly prospering in Mitzriam. They were not in Eretz Canaan. They were in Mitzriam. This is the point! Yaakov and his descendants lived and prospered in a place other than where they desired to be. This is the message to many of us. Do you think that Yoseif would have rather remained in Mitzriam or returned to Eretz Canaan immediately? It is obvious what Yoseif would have rather done. Yet he remained in Mitzriam. This is a message to those who would rather work somewhere other than where they are. This is a message to those who would rather reside somewhere else. Yaakov lived!

For many it is not possible to work in the position they desire. For many it is not possible to work in the location they desire. For many it is not possible to live in the country or city they would choose. For many they cannot live in the house they may dream of living in. For many we cannot attend the day school, high school, Bais Yaakov, Yeshiva, prep school, institution, college or university that we truly desire to attend. Yet even when all of these no's exist... when all of these impossibilities exist, understand this: Yaakov lived! We must gravitate to Yaakov's level. We must join Yaakov in living. We must exploit the area of life to the fullest regardless of where we are, where we work or what school we learn in. This is the introduction to Parshat Vayechi. Yaakov Lived!

Even if we lose our position... even if we lose our business or place of employment... even if we lose our family home... even if we lose our children, WE MUST LEARN TO CONTINUE LIVING!

Dear readers, many years ago I lost my position. I lost the family business'. I lost the family home. Then I lost my children and many relatives for awhile. I have been there. I was destitute. I was penniless, I was homeless. I was without transportation. It was not easy! Yet, I needed to learn how Yaakov Lived!

Noach lived during the flood. It was not easy! Avraham was tossed into the fiery furnace. It was not easy! Yitzchok / Isaac offered himself as the willing sacrifice. It was not easy! Yaakov lived with his evil father-in-law for twenty years. It was not easy! God, Please help us all!

When so much does not go the way we desire, we must learn how to live with adversity, affliction, bad luck, calamity, difficulty, distress, hardship, life's misfortunes, misery, pain, sorrow, suffering, trouble, tribulation. We must learn how to live without things we need or desire. Now, I am not saying we cannot have these things. If God Wills, we can have them. Yet, there may be times that we will be required to learn how to live with issues. Again, God please help us all!

When our country is attacked... when peace fails... when our business fails... when we face adversity we must learn how to live! This is what Yaakov taught us! This is what Yoseif taught us. This is what B'nei Yisroel taught us while living as slaves in Mitzriam.

The absolute importance of us understanding the first two words of Parshat Vayechi, 'Yaakov Lived' is so important to us living and thriving. Even though Yaakov did not want to reside in the land of Mitzriam, Yaakov Lived! Even though Yaakov did not care to expire in Mitzriam, for seventeen years Yaakov Lived. Yaakov taught us the importance of living in whatever situation we find ourselves. The Gematria of Vayechi Yaakov {Yaakov Lived} is 216.

Vayechi Yaakov {Yaakov Lived}

ו6 י10 ח8 י10 י10 ע70 ק100 ב2 = 216

Now, holy reader, the point to Vayechi Yaakov {Yaakov Lived} is not just the fact that Yaakov lived but HOW Yaakov lived. Mystically we observe that Yaakov had a special peace about himself. Yaakov had a special place of peace within himself that he withdrew to for renewal, and to receive encouragement, strength, guidance and assistance. One could say that Yaakov lived within a protected place. This protective place is revealed to us in Bereisheit 35.7 where Ha Torah says, וַיִּקְרָא לַמָּקוֹם and he called to [the] place אֵל בֵּית־אֵל God is [the] House of God, i.e. There is a Spiritual place which is called the House of God. God dwells there. It is a Spiritual place. It is not a physical house. So Mystically through  בְּרוּחַ the Spirit we reach out לַמָּקוֹם to the Place Where God Dwells in Spirit.

Bih Ru Ach  - In Spirit / Through Spirit

ב 2 ר200 ו6 ח8 = 216

Bereisheit 35.7

And He built [בנה] there [שם] an altar and he called to [the] place, God, House of God, for their God was revealed [נגלה] to him when he fled from his brother.

The point that is necessary to make here is that Yaakov's life frequently faced adversity, affliction, calamity, difficulty, distress, hardship, life's misfortunes, misery, pain, sorrow, suffering, trouble, tribulation... EVEN THOUGH HE WAS A RIGHTEOUS MAN.

Ha Torah records the difficulty Yaakov faced from the moment of conception until his departing. When Yaakov spoke with Pharaoh he said, '...few and troublesome have been the days of my life...,' Bereisheit 47.9.

Lah Maw Kohm {to the place}

ל30 מ40 ק100 ו6 ם40 = 216

Ha Torah credits Yaakov and Yoseif as men who lived amidst great adversity. We observe this in two ways.

First, Vayechi {lived} refers to both Yaakov and to Yoseif. Yoseif was seventeen when sold into slavery, Bereisheit 37.2. That means Yoseif lived all but seventeen years of his life in the land of Mitzriam. Yaakov lived in the land of Mitzriam, which would become the land of slavery, for seventeen years, Bereisheit 47.9,28.

Vayechi {Lived}

ו6 י10 ח8 י10 = 34

34 = Yaakov lived 17 years in Mitzriam, Yoseif lived 17 outside of Mitzriam. Together they represent 34.

So we see through this that Yoseif was the one sent to prepare the way for the survival of his family. Dear one, this may be your destiny in life. Maybe HaShem will use you to bring back those that you love to God. Maybe HaShem will choose you to be the one to return to an observant life in advance of other family members. You may be disowned like Yoseif. You may be sold into slavery. You may suffer for a while. Your resources may be limited for a while. You may lose your position, business, place of employment, family home and even your children for a while. If this were to happen, God Forbid, try to take Yaakov and Yoseif's directive. WE MUST LEARN TO CONTINUE LIVING!

Yoseif and Yaakov are our examples of how to live. Both left home with nothing. Both were separated from those they loved. Both became wealthy over 22 years. Thank God! When we face adversity lets try to live as best as we can like Yaakov and his son, Yoseif. May HaShem be blessed forever!

Dear readers, when so much does not go the way we desire we must learn how to live with adversity!
