Dear Ones over a number of years while studying the Christian Testament I became aware that Jesus is not God, Jesus is not the son of God, Jesus is not the Jewish Messiah and Jesus is not a Prophet. The news was shocking tome. It was devastating.  At that time I was the Pastor of a Fundamental Independent Baptist congregation.  I consulted with relatives, close friends and Pastors regarding my findings. There response was to try to believe more. God was testing me. One said I was to educated. My education was a problem. Others shook there heads in disbelief. Within a few months I was rejected and isolated.  Other individuals who have studied with me over the years found the same type of treatment.

In the early days a few Messianic Christian Pastors visited my home and office. I received a letter from the Apostle Paul. Eventually I was informed that I was an apostate and would burn in hell for rejecting Jesus, God Forbid!! The Christian love was gone.

Now after more than twenty years I published a book about my life entitled A Sincere Journey Ends Without JESUS. The purpose of my book was to tell my story and in doing so explain why I no longer believed in Jesus as stated above. At that time I owned several printing establishments.  More than half my business was from Christian Churches, Pastors etc. My decision did not make good business sense. In short order all this business went elsewhere.

Neither then nor now do I have an ax to grind with Christians. My intent is not to encourage or to solicit Christians to convert to Judaism. Over the years many former Christians who have had similar experiences as mine have written to me desiring to convert to Judaism. I strongly discouraged each of them. Jews are not evangelical. We do not go door to door looking for converts. We do not preach on street corners etc. We do not witness at bus stops or in bars or at work. Looking back on this aspect, I now think that strongly discouraging former Christians from converting to Judaism was not the best choice and I no longer do this. I understand the rabbinical position regarding conversion but it is really necessary to consider the position of the one desiring to convert. We have made some enemies when we should have made friends.  Life is filled with difficult choices. I think we are making some mistakes when it comes to conversion.

The purpose for this course / blog is to discuss what I learned decades ago in the Christian Testament.  The purpose is to encourage open conversation about the Christian Testament and Jesus. Dear Ones EVERYONE is welcome to take this course of study. Yet, I will be strict with the boundaries. This is NOT an open forum for Christians to argue there doctrines or beliefs. I will provide references and ask questions that anyone taking this course will be expected to respond to.

Post it in this blog.  Let's discuss what it is that troubles you. Many answers are revealed with very careful Bible Translation.  Some answers are in the Talmud some are in Midrashic writings of our Sages some are in the writings of Adam.

I look forward to reading about your journey and your experience and your concerns.

These audios also share a little information on why I have Issues with Jesus being God, or the son of God and issues from the Christian Testament.

Lesson 3

The Struggle

Textbook: A Sincere Journey Ends Without JESUS

By Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk

Dear Ones,

There are two quotes from the New Testament that we should consider before beginning Chapter 2.

Hebrews 4:11 says, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2 Timothy 2:15 says, Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, who rightly divides the word of truth.

What does one study to show themselves approved? Does one only study their doctrine? Who determines when one is rightly dividing the 'Word of Truth'?

Below are six references. The references are not taken out of context. One does not need to twist anything to make these references fit. However if the reader understands the meaning of these quotes it will cut and it will hurt a lot. This is the price of revelation.  This is a tiny bit of what it costs to know the Truth.  In these instances the Truth is going to smart a lot. The Truth will be shocking.  The Truth will be difficult to accept.  I am about to define what Chapter 2 and the 2nd audio discussions will reveal.

Audio Discussion:

The Struggle 1

The Struggle 2

In Chapter 2 I share about 'The Struggle'. I had a serious struggle with the harmony of the four gospels. My world was turned upside down. It was difficult to function. Why? I discovered that the New Testament was not perfect... The New Testament was not Divinely Inspired... Jesus was not the Messiah... Jesus was not the son of God... Jesus was not God.... Jesus was a false Prophet... Jesus sinned... Jesus could not redeem me or anyone else from their sins... Wow!

We review:

Matthew 26:17 - 20

Mark 14:12 - 17

Luke 22: 7 - 14

John 13:1 - 2

Matthew 12:40

Luke 23:54 - 56

We discuss:

What does Passover preparation consist of.

What is the meaning of the words unleavened bread.

What  is the the day of unleavened bread?

When is the Passover lamb killed?

Where is the Passover lamb killed?

In The Jewish calendar as used in the Gospels a day began at night fall.

What is the length of three days and three nights?

How do we know that the fourteenth day of the month was on Thursday?

What proof can we offer that Jesus died and was buried on a Friday?

What were the responsibilities of the High Priests during Passover?

The Struggle in Chapter two is carefully laid out and referenced. The reader will be able to follow my journey. The listener will be able to visualize what I experienced while going through the 'Struggle'.

I encourage the readers to purchase my book and to listen to the two associated audios.

May our Creator Enlighten our understanding.... Blessed is His Name!

Blessings, Love and Peace,

Dr. Akiva Gamliel

Class Discussion 1

Class Discussion 2

Dear Ones our parents, children, grandchildren, siblings and other relatives should be our nearest and dearest to us. In that order. Our responsibility is to them them first.

In the audios I share a little how my father, mother, brothers, former spouse and children turn away from me.  That is understandable.  I returned to Judaism. I was not longer a Christian. This represented a danger to them. My father did not want me to influence his grandchildren. He encouraged my former spouse to divorce me and to return to her relatives out of state.  He did what he could to splinter my life anne to isolate me from the rest of the family. My brother REFUSE to teach the Fifth Commandment or to encourage Observance of the Fifth Commandment to my sons. Should this come as a surprise? Not at all. In addition they have warned me not to speak to their children about Judaism. For years communication with the family was cut off. They were successful in holding back Jewish influence. HOWEVER, these methods will not work in the long run.  All they are doing is delaying the inevitable. All that they have done is to delay the unavoidable and the inescapable.  The Torah is clear on this subject.

Then the Lord your God will turn your captivity, and have compassion upon you, and will return and gather you from all the nations, where the Lord your God has scattered you.  If your outcasts have been driven out to the farthest parts of heaven, from there will the Lord your God gather you, and from there will he fetch you; And the Lord your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and he will do you good, and multiply you above your fathers, Deuteronomy 30.1-5.

God will decide who is Jewish among the families and who is not. The Lord God Will return His People unto himself REGARDLESS! God will not be thwarted!!  Having said this, the Orthodox Rabbis say children born from a Jewish mother are Jewish. Children not born to a Jewish mother are not Jewish. I have maintained this is a Rabbinical decree that needs to be be revoked since an individuals DNA proves his or her parents. This decree has caused much unnecessary suffering!

We return to the Chapter.  My father was unnecessarily mean. After his death he apologized. I accept his apology! Yet to help the reader understand the surroundings and to taste what it was like for me it is necessary to share some of the stories from then. I shared the stories on the audios and here in this blog to say don't cause unnecessary pain. God is going to have His Will regardless!

Dear One religion is a major ingredient in life. Families fight over religion. Parents may try to force religion on there children. This causes unnecessary hurt and pain. I want both of my sons to be happy. I wanted them to grow up as Jews. Yet there is a limit to how far a parent can impress upon their child.  Sometimes children are sensitive. Some children have a low tolerance, i.e. little or no advice is accepted from what a parent.  We love our children we see they make bad choices.  Parents must have the wisdom to realize when to stop applying pressure on their children.

Most religions teach for children to marry within their own religious bounds. When a child steps out of these bounds or when a child returns to a grandparent or great grant patents belief it causes problems.

The point is children should have sensitivity towards their parents and parents should use wisdom and caution when expressing their desires with their children. Otherwise there will be painful gaps and many blank places in family pictures.  My sons are adult children.

Today, neither of my sons please me. They are not doing what I hoped they wood. I am disappointed. I don't have to accept it even though it is really happening. Yet, Regardless, I love my sons and try to stay out of areas they do not invite me into. I offer advice if they ask for it. And I pray for the Creator's Will to be accomplished in there lives.  It's like the Creator is the mediator. Let the Creator decide what is best for my sons. I don't want to be the source of unhappiness in their lives. I BELIEVE IN GOD. I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF GOD!  This is where I have placed family issues.

After my daddy departed this world he came to my bedside to say I am sorry!   The message from beyond lives on today. I am also sorry.  I am sorry my daddy and I could not talk much or spend much time together because it would erupt in to a religious argument. That was awful!  My Daddy apology was a way of saying we could have found a better way.  I agree. So the message from beyond is to heal things and to find that better way.

Blessings and peace,

Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk

Chapter 4

Being Scattered Among The Nations

By Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk

Lesson 5

Textbook: A Sincere Journey Ends Without JESUS

Ask Questions

Why Are Jews Scattered Among the Nations?

A  Sabbath Vision

Dear Ones our parents, children, grandchildren, siblings and other relatives should be our nearest and dearest to us. In that order. Our responsibility is to them them first.

It seems to me like if an individual has questions they want to ask that they should feel free to ask those questions to who every there Spiritual Leader is.  At B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC, we want our Classmates to feel like our door is open for them to ask questions.  We want our  Classmates to feel warmth.  We want them to feel like we have an open door for them to come in sit down, ask any  questions unobstructed and to feel really welcome. We want our Classmates to know that we accept their individuality. We are not threatened by them. We do not threaten back...

I would like to speak to the mistakes of MY PAST.  Decades after returning to Judaism I realize that this individual was created with serious aggression, not hostile behavior but a readiness to fire right back and a readiness to defend my position.  This was necessary to an extent because I was attack often. Look on the internet. These attacks still continue.  In those days, my Rabbi would communicate to me that I was suspicious of everyone. He was right!  Please keep in mind that he did not have missionaries showing up at his door every week or have the Apostle Paul writing to him etc.  Dear Ones when a Spiritual leader leaves Christianity a great deal of misery follows. Reprimands follow... severe rebukes follow... chiding follows, scolding follows, lambasting and berating follow, chastising follows, admonishes follow castigations follow and eventually isolation follows. One eventually reaches the point where isolation surrounds them.  The Rebbetzin says 'life becomes intense.'  It does!

The very day we went online with B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC we received an attack letter from a Messianic Christian.

I was standing in line at a market when a Messianic got in line behind me. He began his attack immediately. I requested to be left alone.  He refused. Eventually the store manager had the man removed from the store.  He was at the exit door waiting for me.

This man followed me to my auto and continued to blast me while I loaded my car.  With these types of people there is no reasoning. There is no logic. They just believe.  For the most part they are always right. So instead of arguing with them I say I am not interested in discussing the Bible with them. I invite them to study with me on the internet.  Very few ever do. The kind of issues that need discussing require time.

On one hand it is good to stand up for what one beliefs and on the other hand is also good to not feel threatened or to make someone else feel threatened.  After returning to Judaism I was constantly being placed in a position of having to defend my return. Part of the time I brought this burden on myself.  I sought to mix it up. DON'T DO THIS!  Mixing it up with Christian Messianic's is really not the way to go. Through the years it is easy to develop an aggressive personality that is not attractive to those who really desire to learn and get the answers to questions. In addition to this there is the Yeshiva style of learning.  It can be very intense. Individuals who are not acquitted with this intense type of learning could be very intimidated and frightened.  It is understandable why one might be  worried about how approachable another is.  This is why the internet is so popular. One can approach from a more secure place.

All said and done please feel welcome to approach us and to ask questions.

In our second audio we discuss being scattered among the nations.

B'nai Yisroel is dispersed among the nation because we didn't observe the Commands given to us by our Creator. One of these Commands that some of B'nai Yisroel has failed to Observe is the Sabbath.  For hundreds of years after the Christian Testament was written Hebrew Christians continued to worship with Observant Jews in synagogues throughout the world. Then they began worshipping on Sunday.  Now hundreds of years later Messianic Christian have returned to worshipping on Sabbath. This is good.  This is a step in the right direction. Yet the issue is that some of us did not Observe the Command regarding the Sabbath.  We participated in scattering B'nai Yisroel among the Nations.  Christians that try to get B'nai Yisroel to worship on the first day of the week do a great dis service for all of us.  Why? These are the type of actions that contributed to dispersing B'nai Yisroel. If Christians want the Messiah to come they need to support B'nai Yisroel in keeping the Sabbath.  Dear Ones when B'nai Yisroel Observes the Sabbath we are a sign.  The sign says the L-rd G-d Created this world in six periods and then rested on the Sabbath.

The third audio is a discussion of a Sabbath vision I received.

Discussion Questions.

1. Asking questions is important. We want those who learn with us to ask questions. What do you want to ask?

2. It is real serious that B'nei Yisroel is scattered among the nations.  Why is B'nai Yisroel scattered among the nations?

3. Messiah will not come until the scattering ends! What can we as individual do to stop the scattering?

4. Discuss Shabbat. Why is it important for B'nai Yisroel to rest on Shabbat?

Blessings, Love and Peace,

Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk
