This study is dedicated in the loving memory of my mother, Mrs.Ethel Channah Sakash Belk, may she rest in peace..

Actually crossing the Yarden river is what instigated the name 'Hebrew'. So originally a Hebrew was anyone who crossed the Yarden. Then as time passed the etymology of the word 'Hebrew' changed to mean the slaves in Mitzriam, then after the deliverance of B’nei Yisroel from slavery by Hashem the meaning again changed to mean B'nei Yisroel in the Bamidbar and eventually Jews living in Eretz Yisroel and around the world...

The numbering system used by Christians is different than Ha Tenach {Torah, Neviim / Prophets and Ketuvim / Writings}, i.e. the Hebrew Scriptures. Both numbering systems are to some degree influenced by Christianity. By this I mean to say that the books of Ha Torah are all called by Greek names. Christian Constantinople Greek influence. Take Genesis for example. The word is not Hebrew. Genesis is Greek. In Judaism and Spirituality the name for the first book of Ha Torah is Bereishis or Bereisheit {beginnings / in the beginning}.

Other books reflect translations of Hebrew words. Some do not make sense. You can compare the arranged order of the Christian Old Testament to Ha Tenach. Christian translators have rearranged the order from that of Ha Tenach. This is especially confusing for Christians because books like Daniel, Esther and Nehemiah are not listed among the Prophets. They are considered Ketuvim / Writings. They are considered Hagiographa. This means they are Writings.. This is not to say they do not have inspiration. It is to say they are eclectic. This means they move about quite a bit. And their level of prophecy, on a scale of 1 to 10 in comparission to Ha Torah, is a 4 or a 5, so to speak. Now, do not think of this as debasement. IT IS NOT! In Judaism and Spirituality, our sages define certain seforim as having greater depth and prophetic clarity. First is Ha Torah. Second would be Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and so forth. All 19 of Ha Neviim {The Prophets} precede Ha Ketuvim {Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther and so forth}. This means the visions, the prophesies of Ha Ketuvim have haze, blur, static, etc.
Yet they are far above present day revelations....

In addition to this, please note that the following seforim {books} are not divided:
Melachim {Kings}, Shmuel {Samuel}, Ezraw {Ezra Nehemiah}, Deevray Haayawmim {Chronicles}. Yet Chrisitian translators divided them.

Ha Tenach is not numbered... Ha Tenach does not have verses or chapters.
