Four times in this week's Parshat we read the Word עוֹלָם Oh Lawm / Olam meaning Forever. עוֹלָם Olam ocurrs sixty times in Ha Torah and 218 times in The Holy Scriptures. The Hebrew Letter Samech is the Gematria Sixty. We teach The Samech is an eternal Letter because of it's design. The Samech is designed in a circle which has no beginning or end.

The מִספָּר Mispar הָכַרַךְ Haw Chah Rah Kih of  עוֹלָם Olam is 146. This points to the Gematria הַמִּצְוָה Hah Mee Tzih Vah meaning The Mitzvh which is the Gematria of 146. הַמִּצְוָה  Hah Mee Tzih Vah refers to all the Mitzvot.

Devarim 5.28  - KJV 5.31

Deuteronomy 5.28  - KJV 5.31

And as for you who stand here by me, I will speak to you all The Commandments, and The Statutes, and The Judgments, that you shall teach them, that they may do them in The Land that I give you to possess.

We are to pay strict attention to The Words  אֵת כָּל־הַמִּצְוָה וְהַחֻקִּים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים which means Everything From Aleph to Tav of ALL The Commandments, And The Statutes and The Judgments. Every Observance is included. The Mitzvah, i.e. Mitzvot are stated as  אֵת כָּל־הַמִּצְוָה Ayt - Cawl -  Hah Mee Tzih Vah which in this Scripture is in reference to every Observance. No Observance is omitted. הַמִּצְוָה Hah Mee Tzih Vah is Mystically connected to  Oh Lawm / Olam meaning Forever. All Observances are forever. Eternal is written four times in our Parshat.

Shemot 27.21

Exodus 27.21

In The Tent of Meeting outside The Veil, which is before The Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall arrange [for The Lamp to burn] from evening to morning before The Lord; This Observance shall be a חֻקַּת statute עוֹלָם for every generations from The People of Israel.

When The third Holy Temple is rebuilt The High Priest and The Priests that will light the Menorah each evening will be descendants ONLY from Aharon and Aharon's sons.

Shemot 28.43

Exodus 28.43

All these [vestments] shall be worn by Aaron, and  his sons, whenever they enter The Tent of Meeting, or when they come near The altar to Minister in The Holy Place and not die. [Wearing The Holy Vestments while serving as a Priest] shall be a Statute Forever for him and his seed after him.

When The third Holy Temple is rebuilt The High Priest and The Priests will be required to wear The Holy Vestments as discussed in Ha Torah. How do we know this? Ha Torah Says, 'This shall be a Statute Forever for him and his seed after him.' No one else will be permitted to wear The Holy Vestments of Priesthood. Only Aharon and his descendants. Why is this written in Ha Torah. It is because other religions will make false and misleading claims about The High Priest and The Priests. This is a reminder to The People of Israel not to believe or follow religions making such claims.

Shemot 29.9

Exodus 29.9

And you shall gird them with a sash, Aaron and his sons, and wrap the Turbans on them; [after consecrating them the responsibility of] The Priesthood and the authority shall be in Aharon's hand and in the hands of his sons. This is an Eternal Statute.

Even though other religons teach differently, Ha Torah States that The responsibility and authority for The Priesthood is exclusively for the descendants of Aharon and his sons.

Shemot 29.28

Exodus 29.28

And it shall be [that the breast and thigh from The Raised Offering] are for Aaron's and for his sons by a statute forever from The People of Israel; for it is A Raised Offering; and it shall be A Raised Offering from The People of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, and their Raised Offering to The Lord.

Despite what others teach the Third Holy Temple will be rebuilt in Jerusalem at The Place The Lord God Has Designated. The Priesthood will be restored. The Priests will wear Holy Vestments as described in Ha Torah. Temple Sacrifice and Offerings will resume. The Priests will receive a portion from the Offerings. The Priests will be from the descendants of Aharon and his sons. These are Eternal Statutes. One purpose for these Eternal Statutes is to bless us.

לְחָק־עוֹלָם

Genesis 12.3

And I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you; and will bless through you all families of the earth.

Mystically we Observe that The Blessing of Abraham flows through The Eternal Statute of giving a portion of The Raised Offering to The Officiating Priest.

Isaiah 56.7

Even them will I bring to My Holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of Prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

Dear Ones, Recently I shared on the subject, 'Do Not Bear False Witness.'  I stated, The Holy Scriptures Group four evil vile sins together for a reason. You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, and you shall not bear false witness are grouped together.

Society downplays lying with comments like, 'It was only a little white lie. It was only a little black lie.'  Lying is a grievous sin!!  What is the matter with us? Some of us associate with people who are known liars. . .

Some of us contribute to the political campaigns of known liars. . . Some of us vote for known liars to lead our governments.

Do we understand the implications of the words 'Do not bear false witness? The Torah is teaching us a valuable lesson about trust. The individuals that we associate with, the individuals we have close relationships with and the individuals we share a bond with must be trustworthy.

Those who we choose to lead us must have a foundation of being reliable and truthful. Anyone who bears false witness lacks the fear of The Lord God. Leaders must walk in The Way of The Truth!! It deeply disturbs me that so many seem willing to accept lying as a pre-qualification for being a politician. What is the matter with us? What is a matter what society?

The answer is clear, we lack morality! We lack ethics! Do we think that if we have leaders who are liars that God will go any easier on us if we lie?

The Torah Speaks about walking In The Path of Truth. It disturbs me that I must remind everyone of the value and importance of Truth.

What if our doctors were like politicians? What if our doctors lied to us about our tests and examinations? What would be the value of going to a doctor? What if drug companies lie about their medications what would be the value of using their products?

Dear Friends, Truth and Truthfulness are very valuable!!  Relationships between husbands and wives are founded upon truthfulness!! Children depend upon their parents to be honest and truthful and forthright with them.

Anyone who has been lied to knows how horrible it feels. We understand how lying damages relationships. We understand the problems lying causes in relationships.  Most of us have lied.  Yet, this is not an excuse for us to continue following this pattern of sin!

So we should not lie.

We should walk 'In The Path of Truth.'

We should teach others not to lie.

We should teach others to walk 'In The Path of Truth.'

We should be careful not associate with liars.

We should be careful not to support liars.

We should be careful not to elect individuals with a history of lying to gain a political position in government.

One can lie with their words, and one can lie by the way they live. Remember, Truth is only 'The Truth' when Truth is entirely true.

2088 years passed before The Word Truth was mentioned in The Holy Scriptures. Does this mean Truth was absent? Absolutely not! Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, said,

Genesis 24.48

'And I bowed down my head, and worshipped The Lord, and said, "Blessed The Lord God of my master Abraham, who had led me In The Path of Truth to take my master's brother's daughter [to be the wife] of his son.'"

Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, understood and acknowledged The Path of Truth. He stated that The Lord God led him In The Path of Truth. From Eliezer's comment we learn, The Path of Truth was known and taught before being mentioned in The Torah. בְּדֶרֶךְ אֱמֶת Bih Deh Reh Kih - Emet meaning 'In The Path of Truth'  is the Gematria of 667. The Gematria Miluy Echad allows us to add The Number One to any Gematria because The Lord God is Echad, i.e. One. From time to time I share a Gematria Miluy Echad. Now we must ask what if we subtracted The Aleph from a Gematria. What would the meaning of 'In The Path of Truth' be if just the Aleph was removed?

בְּדֶרֶךְ אֱמֶת

Bih Deh Reh Kih Emet / In The Path of Truth

ב2 ד4 ר200 ך20     ם40 ת400 = 667

בְּדֶרֶךְ מֶת

Bih Deh Reh Kih Met / in the path of death

ב2 ד4 ר200 ך20     מ40 ת400  = 666

If The Letter Aleph representing God were removed the meaning of the phrase Bih Deh Reh Kih Emet / In The Path of Truth would change to Bih Deh Reh Kih Met / in the path of death. The Gematria would change from 667 to 666.

One may walk In The Path of Truth, which enjoys the Presence of God, or one may walk in the path of death with does not enjoy the Presence of God.

Numbers 23.19 informs us that 'God is not a man, that He should lie.' David wrote, 'God is Holy', Psalms 99.9. This means The Lord God is separated from sin. God is separated from those who lie. We are called to be Holy. The Torah Says, 'be Holy because I am Holy', Leviticus 11.44. In other words, we are to live separate from those who lie because lying is NOT HOLY! Lying is a sin! We are to separate ourselves from the sins associated with lying, murder, adultery and stealing.

The Path of Truth brings life.

The path of lying brings death.

The truth is only 'The Truth' when Truth is entirely true.

May The Lord Bless all who read, study and Observer The Torah.

Dear Friend, In the introduction I wrote, 'A modest, humble discrete individual is distinguished by virtuous characteristics. A distinguished individual is appropriate, proper and suitable for every circumstance. A distinguished individual avoids inappropriate, indecent communication and immodest clothing.

A virtuous individual is one whose pattern of living has good, desirable moral standards.

What are good moral desirable standards?

The Lord God set the standards for modesty, so when we look at what is a good moral desirable standard, we must begin with the Originator of the standard, The Lord God. The foundation for modesty is Truth. Religions teach that they have the truth they know the truth, and they teach the truth.

The Holy Scriptures Teach that 'The Lord God is Truth,' Jeremiah 10.10. 'The Torah is Truth,' Psalms 119.142. When David wrote, 'The Torah is Truth' he was making reference to The 613 Observances in The Torah, The Covenant between Noah and The Lord God and The Covenant between The Lord God and The People of Israel. The Torah is The Five Books of Moses, i.e., Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The Creator of the universe Gave instructions for each of us to follow. Our obligation is to do as The Lord God instructed us.

Our Association to The Lord God is determined by how seriously we follow His Instructions. Following The Creator's Instructions is a choice. One may walk In The Path of Truth, which enjoys the Presence of God, or one may walk in the path of death with does not enjoy the Presence of God.

The Path of Truth was known and taught before being mentioned in The Torah.

Again, It comes down to this question, Do we want to please God or do we want to please ourselves?

We need to speak Truth, write Truth, think Truth, preach Truth and live Truth!! Remember, Truth is only 'The Truth' when Truth is entirely true. Please notice all the benefits Truth Provides in Psalms 91.

Psalms 91

He who dwells in the secret place of The Most High, who abides under the shadow of The Almighty, Will say to The Lord, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust, For He shall save you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you find refuge; His Truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night; nor of the arrow that flies by day; Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because you, O Lord, are my refuge. You have made the most High your habitation; No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. For He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. They shall carry you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread on the lion and on the adder; the young lion and the crocodile shall you trample under foot. Because He has set his love upon me, therefore I will save him; I will set him on high, because he knows My Name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will save him, and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.

Being modest is about being quiet. It is secret. Being Tzniut is not about bringing attention to one's self. It is not about being noticed. Being modest is about taking refuge in The Observances of The Torah. Those who are modest are especially careful in how they care for The Name of The Lord. We live in the shadows of His Presence. We sense The Spiritual Presence of The Creator all about us. It's not about us it's about our Creator. We live to exalt The Lord God. We study The Torah to be careful in our Observances. The Truth is more precious to us than the finest honey and the purest gold and silver. We live in The Secret Place.

Dear Ones, we speak about The Shield of Abraham in Genesis 15.1. Are we making the connection? The Lord who is Truth and The Torah which is Truth are the shield for Abraham. Are we guilty of thinking of Abraham in a One diminutional way? We think of Abraham as a man of faith but it does not end there. Jacob spoke of The Truth The Lord had Revealed to him in Genesis 32.11. Who blessed Jacob? Isaac his father. Who blessed Isaac? Abraham, his father. Who Blessed Abraham? The Lord God! Genesis 12.2 - 3

The point is that there is a great blessing in the Truth. One cannot be Tzniut with out The Truth. The Torah is The Path of Truth.

May The Lord Bless all who read, study and Observer The Torah.

Dear friends, some of us perhaps wonder why we have issues at home, at work, with our spouse, our children our parents, and perhaps with people we think are our friends and so forth. There are reasons that we have issues. I have issues. Each of us has issues. Are you open to admitting that you have issues? So, we all have issues. How do we deal with our issues?

The base of our issues has to do with our relationship with The Lord God. Our relationship with God reflects on how to take care of ourselves. The Torah teaches us how to take care of ourselves in a most excellent way. The Torah teaches us.  Are willing to learn?

Our discussion is going to preview the great value of a tzniut life. The Torah Teacher, scholar and philosopher, Rashi defines this as The Path of Modesty.

A modest, humble discrete individual is distinguished by virtuous characteristics. A distinguished individual is appropriate, proper and suitable for every circumstance. A distinguished individual avoids inappropriate, indecent communication and immodest clothing.

A virtuous individual is one whose pattern of living has good, desirable moral standards.

How we live and how, we present ourselves is a choice that is founded within us.  How do we take care of ourselves? Do we want to be respected? Do we want to be appreciated?  Do we want to be regarded and valued and esteemed?

The Lord God is our Creator. Each of us was created in Gods Spiritual Image, Genesis 1.27. Our Creators Breath gave us life. We are created from the very best dust of the earth. We were gathered and formed by The Lord God from the dust surrounding The Holy Altar. We are special. This is our physical home. When we die, our body returns to the earth.

Our goal is to live up to our potential. We have The Lord God's Spirit within us, so we do not lack for potential. I understand, sometimes we do not feel or think we are special. And we may feel like our potential is limited. This is not unusual. This is the human part of us.

Life's struggles are between The Spiritual part of us and The human part of us. Our Sages teach that humankind was created from the dust surrounding the Holy Altar.  This tells us the location of our home. We were created from the place where atonement is made. We who are kids... we who are children Fashion by The Lord God sometimes need to go home to be reassured and to be comforted. Our home is the location of the Holy Altar. The altar is a symbol of our place of communication with the Lord God. When we have struggles between The Spiritual part of us and human the human part of us, we can talk to God. God answers us through The Torah. We have questions for The Lord God we find the answers in The Torah. Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, Jerusalem the Eye of the Universe, {New York, N.Y. Publishers: National Conference of Synagogue Youth / Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, 2002} pp. 13,14

We are heavily impacted by the human side.

In this Weeks Parshat, The Torah Informs us that Eve did not assert herself when she was confronted by the serpent. Why? Humankind was made master over all of the animals, beasts fowl, etc.  creation including the serpent.

Adam did not get involved. He was standing near Eve watching and listening.

Appropriately Assertive

Being appropriately assertive is an important lesson to learn from the history of our parents failure. The word history is significant. I say history because if we are not careful, History repeats itself. However, history does not need to repeat itself.  The Lord God included Adam and Eve's failure in The Torah for a purpose. It is to teach us to be appropriately assertive.

Associations

Who do we associate with? Where do we 'hang out?'  Who do we keep company with? Who are our associations? Inappropriate associations lead to problems.  When we have an appropriate associations, we do things that later we are sorry for. We need to be very careful with those we communicate. Adam and Eve were hanging out with the serpent.

Responsibility

It is a mistake to think the responsibility in The Garden was only Adam's. The responsibility of guarding the Garden was shared. Let's return to a principle of Bible Interpretation that I shared in the discussion Forbidden Unions. The principle is Everyone is accountable to The Lord for the Instructions He Gives. We could also establish this point on equality. I discuss equality in my book, Eve of Creation Restored.

Genesis 2.16 - 17

And The Lord God Commanded The Man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it; for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

The Torah clearly states that 'The Lord God Commanded The Man'. Nothing is said of Adam's wife, Eve on his children. 'The Lord God Commanded The Man' Yet, In Genesis 3.16 - 17 Eve is judged by The Lord God. She is punished for eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The Lord God Instructed the Man yet the wife was also accountable. This is a principle. Everyone is accountable to The Lord for the Instructions He Gives. The Lord is accountable, Adam is accountable, Eve is accountable, and all creations is accountable.

How could a just God Judge Eve if she was not equally accountable?

The Torah Informs us that God is Holy. Humankind fails to understand that being Holy is also being accountable. The Lord God is Holy. The Lord God is accountable to Himself. Being Holy and being Accountable has more than one side. One is not only accountable for their actions, but one is accountable for the actions of others. This means we are accountable to hold others responsible for their actions. The Lord God Held Eve accountable for her actions.

Why is it necessary for The People of Israel to learn and know all 613 Mitzvot of The Torah? Please think about this! No one can Observe each of the 613 Mitzvot of The Torah yet each of us is responsible to learn the Mitzvot and to know them. There Observance just for the High Priest. There Observance just forThe Priests. There Observance just for the Levim. There Observance just for Kings. There Observance just for a Nazirite. There Observance just for farmers. There Observance just for women. There are Observances just for wives. There are Observances just for men. There are Observances just for Husbands. There are Observances just for Husbands and wives. There are Observances just for children. There are Observances for Sabbath. There are Observances for each High Holiday.  There are Observance just for live stock.  There Observance just for lost animals.  There are Observance just for the Holy Temple.  There are Observances just for the Holy Place in The Holy Temple.  There are Observances just for the Land of Israel.

Dear friends, ignorance of a Mitzvot cannot be used as a reason to violate a Mitzvot of The Torah!! We are required to learn and to know all 613 Mitzvot to Observe Them. We Observe them by holding each other accountable. When one lives in a Jewish Community, each member of the community is being constantly held lovingly accountable by the other members of the community. When one is sick, the community lovingly assists. When one is hungry, the community lovingly assists. When one is lonely, the community lovingly assists.

When I was a single man every Sabbath and High Holiday one or more members invited be to join them at their Sabbath or High Holiday table table.  Hundreds of time I joined members of the Jewish Community for a Sabbath / High Holiday meal. In a small congregation, it would not be unusual to receive a half dozen invitations on Sabbath Eve or Sabbath day. When I lived outside of the Jewish Community, I walked into the community for Sabbath prayers. When Sabbath concluded men from the community made sure I had a ride home.

We are discussing being accountable. God is Accountable. God Does Not Sin! Other religions state God through The Holy Ghost impregnated Mary, the wife of Joseph. The Lord God did NOT do this. Why? Mary was the wife of Joseph. The Lord God is Accountable to HimSelf. Therefore, The Lord God would not do this. Did The Lord God Hold David accountable for taking Bathsheba? Did the Lord God send The Novie / Prophet Nathan to say to David, 'You are the man'?

When men from the army of Israel would go to war,, they would write a decree of divorce for their wife. The purpose for the decree was to allow their wife to remarry if they were missing in action. Uriah wrote a divorce decree For his wife, Bathsheba. Technically speaking Bathsheba was a divorced woman. Yet, the purpose for The Divorce Decree was not to permit Bathsheba to marry David. Still, this is what happened. The marriage between Bathsheba and David was technically legal. David's intent was wrong! Some of David's actions were wrong. 2 Samuel 12

2 Samuel 12.9 - 11

Why have you despised The Commandment of The Lord, to do evil in His Sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10   And therefore the sword shall never depart from your house; because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.

The Lord God is Holy. Because The Lord God is Holy, He holds us accountable for The Observances of The Torah. In this sense, The Lord God is also Accountable. The Lord God Does NOT sin. Because The Lord God is Holy He Holds us accountable. The Lord God sent the prophet Nathan to inform David that he was being held accountable for his soon. What did David do? He took the wife of Uriah for his wife. He impregnated Uriah Wife.

The Lord God Judged David for his improper action. What David did was wrong in the eyes of The Lord and according to The Torah. Therefore, The Lord God would never take Mary, the wife of Joseph. This is how principals in The Torah Work. The Lord God looked upon the intent as well as the wrongful actions.

Responsibility

The Torah clearly states the purpose the Lord God placed Adam In The Garden.

Genesis 2.15

And the Lord God took everything from the Aleph to the Tav of the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to cultivate it וּלְשָׁמְרָהּ and to Guard it.

Eve's purpose in being in the Garden was the same purpose as Adam's. Humankind was placed in The Garden to guard it. The Word וּלְשָׁמְרָהּ Voo Lih Shaw Mih Raw means 'And to Guard it'. Many translation uses 'Keep it'. The root Word שָׁמְרָ Shaw Mih Raw means 'To Guard'.  Eve had a responsibility to The Lord God. Eve had a responsibility to herself.  Eve had a responsibility to Adam.  Eve had a responsibility to the serpent.  Eve had a responsibility to every being living in The Garden.

Remember we are discussing being Tzniut / Modest. We have a responsibility to the Lord God, to ourselves, to our spouse, to the members of our family, to our community, and to the world just as Eve had. Our service to God is important. Our self-worth is important. How we are esteemed by our spouse, our children, our relatives, our community is important.

Passivity

Let's discuss Adam briefly. Adam is also responsible for the exact same areas as we discussed for his wife Eve. Just because we are discussing Eve does not mean Adam is any less responsible. Adam is equally responsible! Adam had the opportunity to stand up but he didn't! Adam had the opportunity to get involved, but he did nothing. He just let his wife, Eve sin. He let it happen. He stood by and did nothing! He was passive! He accepted what was happening without an active response! Adam could have made a difference.

Adam was appointed to lead by The Lord God. Adam was appointed and established to Guard The Garden of Eden. Adam failed to lead. Adam failed to take charge. What did The Lord God Say to Adam? The Lord God Said to Adam, 'Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it...,' Genesis 3.17 - 18. Please show me in The Holy Scriptures where Eve spoke to Adam. Eve did not speak to Adam. Eve spoke to the Serpent. Adam listened to the voice of his wife, Eve speaking to the serpent.

Adam was NOT punished for listening to the serpent!! Where does Adam was punished for listening to the serpent? The Torah does not Say this.

1. Adam was punished for listening to the voice of his wife.

2. Adam was punished because he violated a Command from The Lord God.

Adam ate from the tree The Lord God Commanded him not to eat from.

What did Eve say? We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God Has Said, 'you shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die,' Genesis 3.2 -3.

God did not say 'You shall not touch it' Eve added these words to the Command that the Lord God Gave. Adding to an Observance is a problem. Attributing the words, 'You shall not touch it' is an issue. Again Adam was passive. He knew what The Lord God Said. He knew the Lord God did not say, 'You shall not touch it', but he did not say a word. Adam heard Eve's voice and did nothing. It may seem so small and insignificant to us, but it's HUGE! Why? Eve altered the intended meaning and purpose. Eve changed the absolute Command, 'You shall not eat of it.'  No reason was given why they should not eat it. God Commanded. That's it! When Eve added, you shall not touch it the Mitzvah was changed. A new impression is given. By adding 'you shall not touch it,' Eve gave the implication 'It's poison!'  , 'you shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die', A rational person might think the reason the Lord God Said, 'You shall not eat of it.' is because the tree is position. Even changed the intent from one of being Observant to what The Lord God Commands to being health conscience. Don't eat it because it's poison. Rabbi Menachem Davis, The Shottenstein Edition Interlinear Chumash Bereishis / Genesis, {Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. First Edition 1st impression 2007}, p 16

David wrote in Psalms 19 that The Torah of the Lord is perfect. If one Letter is changed, then The Torah of The Lord is no longer perfect. Eve's action may have been well intended, but she changed Letters and Words. Eve altered a Mitzvot of The Lord God. We are to pass the 613 Mitzvot of The Torah on exactly as the Lord Said them. We are not permitted to change even one Letter of The Torah.  Can you imagine what The Torah would be like if we were permitted to change a little here and a little there over 5776 Years? What would The Torah be like today if we had had NOTHING valuable to pass on to our children. The reason we have issues with Observance of  Tzniut is because we do not understand or believe The Words of The Torah are sweeter than honey from the honey comb and more valuable that the finest gold. If we truly believed this, we would alter how we live.

The Lord God is Teaching us we cannot be passive when it comes to The Torah. We must be preserved The Torah in It's original condition. A passive individual feels like I can take The Take what the Torah is Teaching today and tomorrow I may pass on what The Torah is Teaching. The Lord God Called Adam out for not stepping up and standing up in defense of what The Lord God Said.

Dear Friends, we must remember Adam was a King, Torah Teacher and Judge. Adam was not Created to be a passive king, a passive Torah Teacher or a passive judge. Being passive was an obstacle Adam faced. Each of us has obstacles we must face and work to improve.

Communication

Giving and receiving communication is one of the important functions of living. How we give and how we receive communications is extremely important. If we give an individual the wrong impression, we are misleading them. If we are frank, perhaps our frankness may hurt another individuals feelings. If we are not appropriately assertive, we may be taking advantage of. Our existence is dependent upon the communication we give or refrain from giving. In a similar way, we need to be very with the communication we receive. It is vital for us to learn the power of giving and receiving communication properly. A distinguished individual avoids inappropriate, indecent communication.

Our communication has a power of giving life or death.

Proverbs 18.21

'Death and life are in the power of the tongue...'

We have the power to communicate encouragement or discouragement.

Proverbs 25.11

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

We have the responsibility to guard ourselves against the wrong type of communication. In America, we have a phone, 'No Call Lists' for a reason. Skilled communicators phone us. We answer the phone. Our guard is down. They use their communication skills to sellers products.

Guarding Ourselves

Being careful with our selection of clothing helps us to guard ourself. The purpose of our clothing is to cover our body. A distinguished individual is appropriate, proper and suitable for every circumstance. This begins with the clothes we select. When we prepare to dress is it important for us to take into account our responsibility to God, our self, and others. Remember if we do not hold ourselves accountable, God will hold us accountable.

There are other ways we guard ourself. I don't answer the door just because someone knocks. I Don't answer the phone just because someone calls. I don't respond to every email. I eliminate pictures from my computer screen. These are ways we can protect ourselves.

Internet dating sites are dangerous. They have predators! The Internet is dangerous. The internet can provide instance access to evil, vile, wretched predators. Adam and Eve let the serpent into their home. They let the serpent into their lives. The serpent was a predator. The Torah describes the serpent as being 'more cunning'. Read Genesis 3.1.

Predators

Each of us must be careful. We are vulnerable to predators. God Help us! Kah Naw Nah Haw Rah! Adam and Eve were covered by The Glory of God yet they were vulnerable. The serpent got to them! The Torah is Teaching us that our power of choice is very great. Predators are cunning. Predators know the power of choice is great. The Torah and The Glory of God do not protect us from our power of choice. The Torah Teaches us to make the right choices. Following the Torah is our choice!

When the Torah Informs us that Adam and Eve were naked, The Torah is Informing us that we are vulnerable. Read Genesis 2.25.

The Holy Scriptures reminds us that a righteous man may fall seven times yet, he gets back up and continues. See Proverbs 24.16

The point is, it's easy to be caught off guard. Even the best of us sometimes error. It is necessary to be very careful!

Emunah

We must have implicit Faith in The Lord God and The Teachings of The Torah!! What did the serpent do? The serpent questioned Eve. Questions open doors! The serpent used a question to challenge what God Said. The serpent lied!  The serpent mischievously reinterpreted what God Said, for his own advantage. He lied. Eve looked upon the forbidden tree and lusted. Eve sinned. She took the f forbidden fruit. It did not belong to her. She stole.  She became a thief. She took what did not belong to her. Then she offered her stolen fruit to Adam.

After Eve ate the fruit and after Adam ate the fruit The Torah informs us that her eyes were opened. Dear Ones after we sin, and after we make mistakes, it becomes so clear to us. Our eyes are opened.

Forgive Ourself

We may feel like the mistakes we have made are so foolish. We are ashamed of our errors. We don't want anyone to know. We blame ourselves. We blame others. We may put ourselves down. We put others down. Our errors can take us in so many wrong directions. Making mistakes can be depressing. Mistakes can lead us to make more mistakes. Adam separated from Eve for 130 years. Adam was righteous. Eve was righteous. On the other hand their son, Cain, was evil, defiant, rebellious, disobedient and a murderer! During the time, Adam separated from his wife because he was so angry Cain populated the earth with people like him. One sin led to others.

Forgive Others

Eventually, Adam forgave Eve. They had many more children. Each of us is descendants of these children.

Adam and Eve were punished for their sins. Then The Lord God Forgave them. How can any of us ask The Lord to forgive us on Rosh Chodesh and Yom Kippur if we are unwilling to forgive others?  We must avoid the actions of saying we forgive yet living like we forgave nothing.

The purpose for this Learning Group is to help us to learn these principles about Modesty in The Torah so that we can be the esteemed and distinguished individuals The Lord God desires us to be. The choice is ours. What will we choose?

Are we going to believe God?  Do we desire to please God or ourselves? We are just beginning to learn the rewards of being Tzniut / Modest. We learned methods on how to protect ourselves. We learned that when we employee modesty this helps us raise or to rebuild our self-worth.

There is one area that we have not discussed. The Lord God Blessed Adam and Eve. Read Genesis 1.28. Do we understand what it means to be blessed by The Lord God? Adam and Eve had the seal of approval from the Lord God. They walked in His Ways and Observed His Statutes until they sinned. One is blessed when you observe the Torah. This is the only way to receive and keep The Blessing of The Lord God.

May The Lord Blesses help us in learning and following these principles in The Torah.  May we be successful.

Gematria In Genesis -  Meez Bay Ach  /  The Altar

By Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk

Genesis 12.7

וַיִּבֶן שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָֹה

Dear Friends, Perhaps the greatest association in Abraham's life was The Altar to The Lord. We are going to consider Mysticism of several Scriptures in This Parshat.

Genesis 12.7

And The Lord Spiritually Appeared to Abram, and said, 'To your seed will I give this land; and there [Abram] וַיִּבֶן שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָֹה built an altar to The Lord, who appeared to him.

Genesis 12.8

And he moved from there to a mountain in the east of Beth-El, and pitched his tent, having Beth-El on the west, and Hai on the east; and there [Abram]  וַיִּבֶן־שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהֹוָה built an altar to The Lord, וַיִּקְרָא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֹה and called in The Name Lord.

Genesis 13.3 - 4

And he went on his journeys from the Negev to Beth-El, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth-El and Hai; אֶל־מְקוֹם הַמִּזְבֵּחַ To the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first;

וַיִּקְרָא שָׁם אַבְרָם בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֹה and there Abram called in The Name Lord.

Genesis 13.8

Then Abram removed his tent, and came and lived in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and וַיִּבֶן־שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָֹה built there an altar to The Lord.

There are several Word we want to consider. Please notice the individual Letters in the screened row. They are the true first Letter of Each Word. Mystically the First Letters combine to spell בָּשֹמִי Baw Sa Mee meaning fragrance. So when Abram built an Altar to The Lord, Mystically it was for the purpose of honoring The Lord with a Pleasing aroma a special fragrance that would rise into The Heavens. Noah did this in Genesis 8.21. The Gematria for  בָּשֹמִי Baw Sa Mee is 352. The Gematria for קָרְבָּן Qaw Rih Bawn / Karbon / meaning Offering is also 352. We are beginning to see the Spiritual Revelation of 'Abraham Built an Altar to The Lord.'

Gematria In Genesis -The Altar.jpg

בָּשֹמִי

Baw Sa Mee / Fragrance

ב2 ש300 מ40 י10  =352

קָרְבָּן

Qaw Rih Bawn / Karbon / Offering

ק100 ר200 ב2  ן50  =  352

Mystically we Observe that when Abram  וַיִּבֶן־שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָֹה built there an altar to The Lord it was for the purpose of offering a קָרְבָּן An offering a sacrifice. The sacrifice Offering pleased The Lord. In Genesis 13.3 - 4 we read, אֶל־מְקוֹם הַמִּזְבֵּחַ To the place of the altar.  Notice the Words מְקוֹם הַמִּזְבֵּחַ Mih Qohm - Hah Mee Zih Bah Ach meaning 'place of the Altar'. The Gematria is 248. Is this interesting? In Genesis 17, The Lord Changes his name from Abram to Abraham. The Gemmatria of Abraham is 248. Mystically this is like The Lord is Saying to Abram because you build Altars to Me and because you come to the Place of the Altar to call in My Name I am going to change your name from Abram [Gematria 243] to Abraham [Gematria 248]. You build the Altar to Me. You offer a Karbon. The fragrance rises into The Heavens.

מְקוֹם הַמִּזְבֵּחַ

Ha Mee Zih Bay Ach - Mih Qohm

The Place of The Altar

מ40  ק100 ו6  ם40       ה5 מ40 ז7  ב2  ח8  = 248

Genesis 17.5

Neither shall your name any more be called Abram, but your name shall be אַבְרָהָם Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made you.

אַבְרָהָם

Abraham

א1 ב2 ר200 ה5 ם40 = 248

אֶל־אַבְרָהָם

To Abraham

א1  ל30       א1  ב2  ר200 ה5  ם40  = 279

אֶל־מְקוֹם הַמִּזְבֵּחַ

To The Place of The Altar

א1 ל30     מ40  ק100  ו6  ם40     ה5 מ40  ז7  ב2  ח8  = 279

Mystically it's like The Lord God Changed Abraham's name to 'The Place of The Altar.

In Genesis 13.4 וַיִּקְרָא שָׁם אַבְרָם בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֹה and there Abram called in The Name Lord. I did not write 'In The Name of The Lord because The Text does not say this. Translators add this to The Scripture. It is important to note this. Abram called in The Name Lord. We do not know how to do this!! Abraham did NOT necessarily Say The Holy Name 'Lord'. He called in The Name Lord. His Intent was in the Name Lord. What he was saying was communicated in The Name Lord. Abraham was a Mystic. Abraham had a unique relationship with The Lord. We know that the only place where Abraham called in The Name Lord was 'There' at the altar. At this time, we are not going to discuss the method by which Abraham called in The Name Lord.

The Lord God Established during Creation that one should only mate with their own kind. Those that teach The Lord God impregnated Mary the wife of Joseph in the Christian New Testament, Matthew 1:18 DO NOT UNDERSTAND The Holy Scriptures Forbid a union between The Lord God and humans. So we will review why it is impossible for The Creator to have impregnated Mary, the wife of Joseph.

First, Mary was the wife of Joseph. Impregnating another man's wife violates The Holy Bond of Marriage Established by The Lord God.

Second, Leviticus 18 Teaches us about forbidden unions. We can understand it is wrong to have physical relations with animals, but some cannot understand why it is wrong for The Lord God to impregnate Mary, the wife of Joseph.

We have difficulty relating to The Lord God, so Scripture uses anthropomorphisms.

We misunderstand The Holy Scriptures use of anthropomorphisms. The Holy Scripture uses anthropomorphisms like 'The hand of The Lord' or, 'The hand of God' or, 'the eye of The Lord' or, 'The Lord God Walking in the garden' or, 'The eyes of The Lord' are not real. We call God our Father. We ascribe physical features to The Lord God. The more we personalize The Lord God we think of God as having human features. These are figures of speech. God is a Spirit. God does not have eyes, hands, ears, or feet like humans have.

Third, The Lord God is Holy. Our issue is that we cannot begin to comprehend The Holiness of The Lord God. It greatly distresses me to see the IGNORANT way humans use The Holy Name. Some humans write His Four Letter Name like their own. Where is the respect for The Holy Name of God? How is His Holy Name separated?

Dear Friends, if you are my friend... if you want to learn from me then DO NOT WRITE OR SAY THE HOLY FOUR LETTER NAME OF The Lord!! Isaiah wrote, 'they shall 'Sanctify My Name', and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear The God of Israel.' Isaiah 29.23 Those who use The Holy Four-Letter Name of The Lord inappropriately do not understand what it means to 'Sanctify My Name.' Yet, we understand the importance and value of carefully handling rare antiques that are NOT holy!

The Lord's Name is sanctified by those separate and guard His Holy Name. His Name is not to be used by any of us!! The Lord's Name is so Holy that His Name is only spoken by The High Priest on Yom Kippur!! Why do we use the word HaShem, meaning the Name? Why do we use the Word Ad-ni in Prayers? It is because The Lord's Name is So very Holy!! When one fails to grasp the Holiness of The Lord's Name, they will not understand God would NEVER impregnate Mary, the wife of Joseph or any human!! Our purpose in this world is to sanctify His Holy Name. We do not write or say the Four-Letter Name of The Lord. You cannot be my friend if you do this.

Leviticus 11.45

'For I am the Lord that brings you out of the land of Egypt, to be God to you. You shall, therefore, be Holy, for I Am Holy.'

Some do not understand the concept of what it means to be Holy. The Lord God is Separated from everyone and everything. None of us can exist outside of a zone in which The Lord God has constricted His Revelation of Light so that we may exist. This zone is called Tzimtzum.

Aryeh Kaplan The Bahir ( Lanham, Maryland, Rowman & Littlefield Publishers) 1st edition, 2004 p xxii.

Fourth is the Separation of Kind with Kind

Genesis 1.11

And He, God Said, תַּדְשֵׁא הָאָרֶץ 'Let the earth sprout forth' Those interested in knowing The Truth should take not of The Word תַּדְשֵׁא.

The First Letter is NOT part of the Word דֶּשֶׁא meaning. Grass or to sprout forth. The Letter ת Tav frequently is added to the front of a Word as a Sign. The Letter ת Tav is the last Letter of אוֹת Oht meaning 'Sign'. In Genesis 4.15 we read that The Lord Placed a Sign on Cain. The Sign was The Letter ת Tav. Rabbi Michael Munk The Wisdom In The Hebrew Alphabet Mesorah Publications, Brooklyn, N.Y. 1990), p. 219

And The Lord Said to The Angel Gabriel, 'Go through The midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark [of The Letter Tav] upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and who cry for all the abominations that are done in its midst thereof etc.' This Letter Tav was written on forehead of The Righteous with ink. The Tav written in ink denoted תִּחְיֶה meaning 'You shall live. The Tav was written on the foreheads of the wicked with blood denoted תָּמוּת meaning you shall die. Sabbath 55a. The Letter ת Tav represents אֱמֶת Truth and אוֹת A Sign. So when we see The Letter ת Tav in front of a Word that does not begin with The Letter ת Tav, this is A Sign to us. What is אוֹת The Sign? The reader is informed by the Sign of The Letter ת Tav to stop and search for a hidden revelation.

And to the others, He Said in my hearing, 'Go you after [The Angel Gabrial] through The City, and strike; let not your eye spare, nor have any pity;  Slay utterly old men and young men, young girls, and little children, and women; but do not come near any man upon whom is the mark of The Letter ת Tav ; and begin at my sanctuary. In Genesis 1.11 The Sign of The Letter ת Tav is in front of דֶּשֶׁא informs us of the End of Days prophecy in Deuteronomy 33 of אֵשְׁ דָּת The Fiery Torah.

תַּדְשֵׁא

Tah Dih Say / To Sprout forth

ת400 ד4 ש300 א1 = 705

אֵשְׁ דָּת

א1 ש300 ד4 ת400 = 705

Aish Dat / The Fiery Torah.

Just as The Firey Torah will be sealed upon the hearts of The People of Israel In Jeremiah 31 'kind producing with kind' is sealed upon earth. For those who are interested, there is no way translators can translate The significance of The Letter Tav being placed in front of a Word. We return to Genesis 1.11.

Genesis 1.11

And He, God Said, תַּדְשֵׁא הָאָרֶץ 'Let the earth sprout forth' grass, herbs, from seed, Fruit trees [from seed] לְמִינוֹ each made after it's own kind [of seed], from seed that is within it on the earth and it was so.

The Lord God MADE each seed-yielding fruit tree after in own fruit kind. Mixing fruit trees is forbidden! Engrafting one fruit tree into another fruit tree is forbidden. Rabbi A. Y. Kahan The Taryag Mitzvot (Brooklyn, N.Y. Keser Torah Publications 1987, 1988) pp 161 - 162.

Leviticus 19.19

Observe everything from Aleph to Tav of My Statutes. תִּשְׁמֹרוּ Each of you shall guard your cattle. Do not mate to cross breed [mingle] to create a crossbreed. Do not plant your field with mixed seed. And do not mix a garment with [wool and linen fibers] with any combination. Do not put it on you! See Deuteronomy 22.11

Genesis 1.12 - דֶּשֶׁא עֵשֶׂב מַזְרִיעַ זֶרַע לְמִינֵהוּ

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed לְמִינֵהוּ after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, לְמִינֵהוּ after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Genesis 1.21

And God Created the great whales, and every kind of creature that creeps which live in the waters, לְמִינֵהֶם after of it's kind, and every of winged bird, לְמִינֵהוּ of its kind, and God Saw that it was good.

Genesis 1.24

And God Said, 'Let the earth bring forth living creatures, לְמִינָהּ each after its kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth לְמִינָהּ each after its kind,' and it was so.

Genesis 1.25

And thus God Made the beasts of the earth לְמִינָהּ each of its kind, and cattle לְמִינָהּ each of its kind, and everything from Aleph to Tav of all that creep upon the earth לְמִינֵהוּ each of its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Genesis 7.2 - 3

Of every clean beast, you shall take to you seven pairs, the male and his female; and of beasts that are not clean one pair, the male, and his female. Of birds also of the air by seven pairs, the male, and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

The Angels Shamchazai [also know as Chazai or Hazai] and Azael looked upon the daughters of man.

Genesis 6.2

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were pretty; and they took them as wives all those whom they chose.

Giants resulted from these unnatural forbidden unions between the Nefilim, i.e the fallen angels and the daughters of men. The World was destroyed because of them, Genesis 6.11. The point is that The Lord God Established each of us to have and enjoy physical relationships with our own kind.

Every reference in The Holy Scriptures of Angels is in the masculine. The Lord God permitted Angeles to take on the form of men, yet Angels were not men. The Angels Shamchazai and Azael were permitted to take on the entire for of man so they could be tested as man is tested. They failed. They became vile sinners. They were destroyed in the flood.

Fifth, God is Echad! This means God does not reproduce HIMSELF! Otherwise, He would not be Echad. The Lord God is NOT three in one. The Lord God is ONLY One!

It is for these reasons and other that the Lord God did not impregnate Mary, the wife of Joseph.

The Lessons We Learn From Adam And Eve

There are Two Words are Two Words I would like us to   consider. They are מִפְּנֵיהֶם Mee Pih Nay Hehm and From Countenance  הַנְּפִילִים  Hah Nih Fee Leem meaning The Fallen.

Genesis 6.13

And God Said to Noah, 'The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence מִפְּנֵיהֶם because of them [From Their Faces]; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.'

When The Torah Says, 'because of them, The Torah is Making reference to Two fallen angels, Shamchazai [also know as Chazai or Hazai] and Azael, and their offspring. Giants resulted from physical relations with the daughters of men. These were unholy unions. These were forbidden unions. In another discussion, I share about Forbidden Unions!

'When the Holy One, blessed be He, sought to create man, He took counsel with the ministering angels. He said to them: 'Let us make man in our image' (Gen. I, 26).

The Angels responded, 'What is man, that You are mindful of him' (Ps. VIII, 5)?

The Creator Answered, 'The man whom I desire to create will possess wisdom that shall exceed yours.' Then The Creator Assembled all the cattle, beasts, and fowl. He Had them pass before the Angels. Then The Lord God inquired, 'What are their names?' The Angels did not know.

However, after He Created Adam & Eve He had the animals, beasts and fowl pass before him. The Creator asked Adam, 'What are the names of these?'

Adam replied: 'This should fittingly be called an ox and that a lion; that a horse; that an ass; that a camel, and that an eagle.' This is inferred from the text, 'And the man gave names to all cattle, etc. (Gen. II, 20).

Then The Creator asked Adam, 'And you, what shall be your name?'

He answered: 'Adam.'

The Creator questioned, 'Why? call yourself Adam'

He replied, 'Because I have been created from the ground (adamah).'

The Holy One, blessed be He, asked Adam ' And I, what is My name?'

Said said, ' Lord.'

The Creator inquired, 'Why?'

Adam said, 'Because You are The Lord over all created beings.' Hence it is written, I Am The Lord, that is My Name (Isa. XLII, 8). It means: That is The Name by which Adam called Me; it is the name which I have accepted for Myself; and it is The Name on which I have agreed with My creatures. Midrash BaMidbar 19.3

In Genesis when we read The Lord deploring the wickedness of man, two angels Shamchazai and Azel, arose before Him and argued, 'Master of the Universe, didn't we tell you before the creation of man that he would be unworthy and should rather not be created?'

The Creator Responded to them, 'If not for man, what purpose does the universe serve?'

They replied, 'We, the angels, are sufficient reason for its existence.'

The Creator Said, 'I know that if you were to dwell on earth and possess evil impulses as men do, you would be even worse than they are!'

Shamchazai and Azel requested, 'Grant us permission to live among mortals and You will witness how we sanctify Your name!'

The Creator Replied, 'Descend and do as you suggest.' [They were given free will to live as humans]. Shamchazzi and Azel lived on earth as human beings.  When they beheld the beauty of human women, they could not resist the temptation to sin with them.  These [sinful] unions gave rise to giants of the generation before the flood. [Their descendants] committed the sins of murder, adultery, and robbery, [i.e. kidnapping etc.] Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York:  Benei Yakov Publications 1980), pp 79, 80

Sihon and Og were brothers,'Sihon and Og were the sons of Ahijah the son of Shamhazai', - The fallen angels are referred to in Gen. 6.2 and 4, as 'sons of God' or 'Nephilim', meaning the fallen. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says Beraishis (Brooklyn, New York:  Benei Yakov Publications 1980), pp 92 and 98.

Numbers 13.33

And there we saw הַנְּפִילִים the Nefilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nefilim, i.e. the fallen, the giants, and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so were we in their sight.

Mystically we see the bridge with   מִפְּנֵיהֶם 'because of them' / Their Faces / Their Countenance with הַנְּפִילִים 'The Fallen. The Gematria of each Word is 225.

מִפְּנֵיהֶם

The Torah is teaching us that our face reveals our intentions. Watch the face!

Genesis 31.5

'And said to them, I see everything from Aleph to Tav of your father's פְּנֵי countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me.'

Mystically we see the faces of the fallen are related.

Dear Ones,

We began a portion of this discussion in Chapter Five. Please allow me to repeat a little. There I stated, 'This is where we are at today. We are 3,287 years from when Moses spoke those Words. The Jewish people do not occupy all of the Land Promised to them by The Lord God.  Millions of Jews live outside of Eretz Yisroel. The Levites do not occupy the Forty-Eight Cities as intended in Scripture.  The land outside the Forty-Eight cities has been altered. I am saying the Mitzvot spoken of in the above Scriptures will need to be reestablished again as it was in the Days of Joshua!  There will be a serious war to reclaim our land. Jews from every corner of the world will come to help liberate The Land of Israel again. Some countries will be wiped off the face of the earth. Moshiach / Messiah will lead forces to defeat all our enemies. This time they will be defeated once and for all! I am saying The People will fight these wars again as in the days of Joshua.  So it is like each of us is standing before the great Prophet Moses hearing His Words again 3,287 Years later. We return to the subject at hand.

2488 FC

Once the Land of Israel is conquered, Jewish farmers will settle the land and plant crops of grain, i.e. wheat, oats, rye, barley and spelt.  Then at a period in Time after these Times they will harvest their First Fruit.'

In this week's Parshat, we learn about rejoicing because of all the good The Lord God Has Given to us.

Devarim 26.11

Deuteronomy 26.11

You shall rejoice with all the good that the Lord your God Gave you, and your household, and the Levi, and the proselyte in your midst.

All the good is the Gematria of 74. Eternity is also the Gematria 74. We are learning about time and Gematria. Here we have a unique connection between time and Gematria.

We also learn why it is so important to Observe ALL 613 Mitzvot of The Torah. In this Parshat we learn of the Blessings and curses. Deuteronomy 27.26 states the last curse.

Devarim 27.26

Deuteronomy 27.26

Cursed is the one that does not stand up for everything from Aleph to Tav of The Words of This, The Torah to perform Them and all The People said, 'Amen!.

If and when the People of Israel do not Observe a Mitzvot of Ha Torah this is a point in Time that one is cursed. Why am I pointing this out? It is because every Observance of The Torah is important. Well-meaning individuals attempt to persuade The People of Israel that the Observances in The Torah are filled and that we no longer need to Observe them. They mean well but they are mistaken! We discussed this in Chapter Five.

We are the Holy p\People because we have responsibilities to Observe The 613 Commands of The Torah. Observing the 613 Commands separates the people of Israel from the rest of the world. The Holy Scripture is informing us that we have a choice to be blessed or to be cursed. No one wants to be cursed!  The Parshat concludes with a reminder of what is is like to be Blessed.

Deuteronomy 28.1 - 8

And it shall come to pass, if you shall give heed diligently to The Voice of The Lord your God, to observe and to do All His Commandments which I command you this day, that the Lord your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth;  And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall listen to the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the produce of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. Blessed shall be your basket and your store. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouses, and in all that you set your hand to, and he shall bless you in the land that the Lord your God gives you.

The Lord Said,

Genesis 12.2 - 3

'And I Will Make of you a great nation, and I Will Bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you; and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.'

Folks don't understand that the blessing for the people of Israel comes from our faithful adherence to do what The Lord God Has Commanded. If we fail to do what the Lord has commanded us, we are cursed. When we Observed the 613 Commands in the Torah, we are blessed.

On one day somewhere in the last Days of Moses's life, He took the time to remind us of this important principle of Observing every Command of the Torah. Now, Thousands of Years Later there are many Commands in the Torah that we cannot Observe. I shared a few in Chapter Five. Even though there are some Commands, we cannot fulfill we should do our very best to Observe the Commands that are within our reach. Honestly, This is not about how long one prays or studies The Torah each Day. It's about the sincerity of one's heart And the attitude that we possess. This returns us to the Gematria of 74. We are to express thanks and appreciation for every good thing the Lord Gives us.

בְכָל־הַטּוֹב

What do we say each Day in our prayers?

Psalms 145.

David's Psalm of praise. I will extol you, my God, O king; and I will bless your Name for ever and ever. Every day I will bless you, and I will praise your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and of your wondrous works. And men shall speak of the might of your awesome acts, and I will declare your greatness. They shall utter the fame of your great goodness, and shall sing of your righteousness. The Lord is Gracious and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of abundant loving kindness. The Lord is good to all, and His Mercies are over all His works. All your works shall praise you, O Lord; and your pious ones shall bless you.

Psalms 119.89

Forever, O Lord is Your Word fixed in Heaven.

What did we read in Deuteronomy 28.1? 'And it shall come to pass if you shall give heed diligently to The Voice of The Lord your God...'

Each Time we thank The Lord God for what He Has Given us is a Point in Time! Each of us should have many of these points in Time. We choose the appointed Time to say 'Thank you!'.  We are the witnesses of His Blessings throughout eternity.

עֵת

Time

Dear Ones, our goal in this discussion, is to help us make a connection with The Letter מ Mem [normal] ם [final] to learning. The Mem is a middle Letter of The Aleph Bet. The normal sign [Gematria] of The Letter Mem is 40. The final sign of The Mem is 600. The only time the final Mem may be used is when The Mem is the final Letter in a Word. The Letter Mem is one of two Hebrew Letters that makes a complete 360-degree circle. When the final Letter Mem was written in the Two Tablets by The Lord The Mem was suspended in air without touching or connecting to the Two Tablets. The Lord Made The Mem stood in place without falling. The Letter Mem is an eternal Letter. The Mem does not have a beginning or end. In addition to the Words we are going to study מֹשֶׁה Moses and מְשִׁיחַ Moshiach / Messiah each begin with The Letter Mem.

In addition to learning about the Letter Mem and associated Gematrias, we will God Willing consider elements of time-related to Moses our Teacher and The People of Israel. We will Observe the wisdom in Time. It is written. We will Observe perhaps one or two picture frames in the movie of Time. King Solomon wrote, 'To everything there is a season and time to every purpose under the heaven.' We will examine several points in time that are woven together into a special purpose.

Deuteronomy 1.1 - 3

These are the words which Moses shared with all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah opposite the Red Sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

There are eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-Barnea.

And it happened in Year Forty in Month Eleven, in Day One to the Month that Moses shared with the people of Israel, about every Command that The Lord Said to him with them.

The People of Israel left Egypt in the year 2448 FC in Month One in Day Fifteen. That was a long time ago. Ha Torah Says it was almost Forty complete years. The People of Israel had not completed Year Forty. There were 30 days left in Month Eleven and 29 Days left in Month Twelve. They were 59 days from completing Year Forty.

Moses was 37 Days away from turning 120 years of age. Moses would die in 37 Days on his Birthday. Our Sages Teach that Moses was in Mitzrim 40 years, In Midian 40 years and in the Midbar 40 Years.

Mitzrim / Egypt

מִצְרָיִם

מ40 צ90 ר200 י10 נם40 = 380

Midian

מִדְיָן

מ40 ד4 י10 ן50 = 104

Wilderness

מִּדְבָּר

מ40 ד4 ב2 ר200 = 246

Our Sages Teach that Moses spent 40 Years in Mitzrim, 40 Years in Midian and 40 Years in Midbar. 120 = 40 + 40 + 40

The 2016 Bible Journeys Calendar will be released God Willing soon. In the calendar, I share about Moses simultaneous three Forty Day and Night fasts. Moses fasts from the Day he receives Ha Torah, The Commandments and The Covenant to Yom Kipper, which is the day of atonement. . Moses fasted three forty day periods one after the other plus the day before and the in between days. Our Sages Teach this is a total of between 122 to 123 days. The Seventh of Sivan is not counted. This is the Day Moses climbed Mt Sinai to receive the Commandments. The Day Moses prepares the second set of Tablets was 29 Av. This Day was not included in the fast days. So how can 122 days be 123 days? The question is, did Moses Fast on 6 Sivan, the preparation Day? Our Sages Teach Moses was very busy helping The People prepare to receive Ha Torah. Did Moses eat a Sabbath meal that night? It is not likely given Moses understanding of purity. It is likely that Moses fasted to be in a state of readiness to receive Ha Torah. Why is this such an important question?

Numbers 33.39

And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

One-Hundred-Twenty-Three Days ties Aharon, The High Priest to Shavuot and Yom Kippur. In other Words The High Priest that makes atonement is a bridge spanning between receiving Ha Torah to the Day he seeks forgiveness for The People of Israel.

Fast One

Exodus 24.16 - Fast one from Sivan 7 to 17 Tammuz. The 17th of Tammuz is when the Roman soldiers breached the Holy City in their conquest to destroy our Second Holy Temple in 3830 FC. Rabbi Nachman Zakon, The Jewish Experience 2,000 Years Shaar Press (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 2003), p 11

Exodus 32.15 - 19

And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tablets of The Testimony were in his hand; the tablets were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. And The Tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved upon The Tablets. And when Joshua heard the noise of The People as they shouted, he said to Moses, There is a sound like war in the camp. And He Said, It is not the voice of those who shout for mastery, nor is it the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the sound of those who sing do I hear. And it came to pass, as soon as He came near to the camp, that He Saw the calf, and the dancing; and Moses' anger burned hot, and he threw The Tablets from his hands, and broke them beneath the mount.

Fast Two

Exodus 32.29 - 35

For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to the Lord, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day. And it came to pass on the next day, that Moses said to the people, You have sinned a great sin, and now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I shall make an atonement for your sin. And Moses returned to the Lord and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Now, if you will forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I beg you, from your book that you have written. And the Lord said to Moses, Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot from my book. Therefore now go, lead the people to the place about which I have spoken to you; behold, my Angel shall go before you; nevertheless in the day when I punish I will punish their sin upon them. And the Lord plagued the people because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

How do we know this second fast was for 40 days? Deuteronomy 9. 12- 18

We know this because in Verse twelve Moses received The Tablets when The Lord Informed him of The People's sin. Then he went down to them. Then he broke the Tablets. Then the next Day He returns to pray on Mt Sinai.

Deuteronomy 9.11 - 12

And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that The Lord Gave me The Two Tablets of Stone, The Tablets of The Covenant. And The Lord Said to me, Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people, which you have brought out of Egypt, have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside from the way which I Commanded them; they have made themselves a molten image.

How do we know Moses second Fast followed the first? How do we know the second Fast was also for Forty Days and Nights?

Deuteronomy 9.15 - 19

So I turned and came down from The Mount, and The Mount Burned with fire; and The Two Tablets of the covenant were in my two hands. And I looked, and, behold, you had sinned against the Lord your God, and had made yourselves a molten calf; you had turned aside quickly from the way which the Lord Had Commanded you. And I took The Two Tablets, and threw them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes. And I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I did not eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which you sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger. For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, with which the Lord was angry with you to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me at that time also.

The Third 40 Day and Night fast follow the first two fasts.

Deuteronomy 10.10 - 11

And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the Lord listened to me at that time also, and the Lord would not destroy you.   And the Lord said to me, Arise, go on your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give to them.

120 Days and Nights = 40 Days and Nights + 40 Days and Night + 40 Days and Nights

Within the Community of The People of Israel, there are some who pray each day each morning, afternoon and night. Some also pray at the mid of Night. The morning prayers maybe thirty minutes or longer on average. Afternoon prayers are perhaps fifteen minutes. Evening prayers are about twenty minutes. These are on normal Days. The Elul, Month leading up to Rosh HaShannah prayer time increases significantly. Then on Rosh HaShannah morning prayers may last from eight am to three in the afternoon. On Yom Kippur, we fast from one night to the next night that is about twenty-six hours. On Erev Yom Kippur at Kol Nidre about three hours. On Yom Kippur, we pray from early morning to night. It is understandable that one might be a little weary.

What about Moses. He did not just fast One Day and Night. Moses fasted for about 123 Days and Nights. Moses bowed down, prayed and interceded for The People of Israel during the middle Forty Days and Nights. The greatness of Moses is a challenging connection for us. I can relate to a tiny portion of what Moses experienced. What about you?

When we say 'In the Wilderness' the Word is Bamidbar.

בַּמִּדְבָּר

ב2 מ40 ד4 ב2 ר200 = 248

The positive Observances of Ha Torah are 248. The organs in our body are 248.

We see a relationship between the being in the wilderness, the positive Commands of Ha Torah and the organs of our body.

Devarim 1.3 is informing us that the wilderness experience is coming to an end in 59 days. Moses Leadership and hands on Teaching is coming to an end in 37 Days. The Lord Has Moses revisit the Observances with The People of Israel. Think of how that felt for Moses. He would die. He would not enter the Land with his people. The people who were taught Ha Torah at Moses' feet were already feeling the loss of their Great Teacher.

Here are five questions for reflection. Those seeking course credit, please post the answers or send answers to Dr_Akiva_Gamliel@bnti.us - SUBJECT BOX - Pasted ONLY these words in the subject box.

1.Solomon wrote, 'There is a time to every purpose under the heaven.' Exploring to learn the purpose is a deep Torah adventure. One point in this lesson is to teach us to search for the purpose related to time and seasons. Do we stop to consider the great significance of points in Time within The Holy Scriptures?

2. How is The Festival Season of Shavuot in which Ha Torah, the Commandments, and the covenant were given to the People connected through Moses to Yom Kipper, the Season for Atonement?

3. How is the Letter Mem related to Moses Life?

4. What is the importance of the number 123?

5. What happened on 17 Tammuz?

Genesis Twenty-four and A Half

Keturah's Faithfulness

Genesis 25 begins with Abraham taking back his former wife Hagar whose name was changed to Keturah meaning beautiful.

Genesis 25.1

Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

We need to back up a little...

How did it feel to Hagar and to Yishmael to learn that the daughter of an Egyptian princess', i.e. Hagar and her son would not inherit Avraham's great wealth and power? Ha Torah does not inform us of what Hagar thought when she learned that Sarah would have a son.

Genesis 17.21

But My covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time in the next year.

That day Abraham and Sarah connected. Sarah became pregnant. Sarah carried Isaac for Seven months. She gave birth on Passover. So Genesis 21.1 informs us of Sarah's impregnation. Verse 2 informs us of Isaac's birth. Verse 2 informs us that The Lord God Kept His Promise that Abraham and Sarah would have children as written in Genesis 15.1 - 5 and 18.10 - 14.

Genesis 21.8 - 14

And the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had born to Abraham, mocking. And she said to Abraham, Cast out this slave and her son; for the son of this slave shall not be heir with my son, with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. And God said to Abraham, Let it not be grievous in your sight because of the lad, and because of your slave; in all that Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac shall your seed be called. And also of the son of the slave will I make a nation because he is your seed. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away; and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

Hagar struggled with her relationship with Sarah. It was challenging to be taken from the place in Egypt and to be given to a wealthy nomad's wife to be her slave. After Ten years, Sarah did not give en Avraham children so according to the system of the land she gave her husband a new wife, Hagar. Hagar conceives soon after the marriage. Sarah realizes that it is her that cannot conceive. Sarah is hurt and angry.  Hagar taunts her pregnancy in front of Sarah. Their Master Servant relationship detritus. Hagar runs away then returns after divine revelation. The stress between them comes to a halt when Dismal throws javelins around Yitzchok when he is playing. Sarah demands that Hagar and Dismal be removed. Sarah said to Avraham, 'Cast out this slave and her son; for the son of this slave shall not be heir with my son, with Isaac..'

When Avraham sent Hagar out with nothing more than a loaf of bread and a pouch of water. Avraham could have provided much more for Hagar and Yishmael, but he choose not too. He could have given them camels and servants.  He could have provided them with a lovely place to live.  Why?

Even though for awhile Hagar lost her way she quickly found it.  As a wife to Avraham, she remained isolated from other men. She learned Ha Torah. She Observed the Mitzvot of Ha Torah. She sent Yishmael back to Avraham where he learned Ha Torah and became an honorable attendant in Avraham's home. Avraham instructed Yishmael along side Eliezer.  In Genesis 22.3 - 5 we Observe Avraham instructing them with these Words, 'Stay here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come back to you.'

How do we know that Avraham instructed both Yitzchok and Yishmael?

Genesis 18.19

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

Ha Torah does not say, child. Ha Torah Says children. This means more than one child. Eliezer was part of Avraham's household that received instruction in Ha Torah.

Abraham kept the way of the Lord.

This means Abraham guarded the Observances in The Holy Scriptures. There are 613 Observances in The Holy Scriptures. Not all apply to each of us. Abraham kept those that applied to him. He carefully followed what The Lord God Commanded. He was meticulous with the Observances that applied to him.. Abraham was just. He was honest. He judged situations fairly. He did not deviate. He stayed on the path of The Lord.  He did not wander or stray. He taught his children and those living with him to follow the Observances that applied to them. Following the Observances worked for Abraham. Following the Observances will also work for us. First we must learn what the Observances are and then which apply to us individually.

This was about 37 years from when Hagar and Dismal were put out.

We pick up the story with Genesis 22.

Genesis 22

And it happened after these events, that God Tested Abraham, and He Said to him. 'Abraham!'

and Abraham responded, 'Here I am.'

and He Said to him, 'Take your son.'

and Abraham said I have two sons,

and God Said, 'your only son,'

and Abraham said 'Yishmael is an only son to Hagar and Isaac is an only son to Sarah.'

and God Said, 'the one whom you love.'

and Abraham said, 'I love Yishmael, and I love Yitzchok.'

and God Said, 'take Yitzchok and go to the land of Moriah sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I will designate to you.'

Dear Reader, Abraham had many scars. He bled some. He was tried and proven. Abraham remained strong. How many of us can say when we have been tried we remained strong?

How Did Abraham do this? It's not complicated. Abraham loved and worshiped the Creator. Abraham Obeyed the Creator.

Genesis 22.3 - 5

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and broke the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far away. And Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come back to you.

Our Sages Teach that Sarah died when she was informed that Abraham Sacrificed her son Isaac. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 861

Sarah died from the shock that Abraham offered her only child as a sacrifice. How could he do this? Why would he do such a thing? Sarah died without knowing Isaac was saved by a Messenger of The Lord. Sarah died without seeing Isaac marry. Sarah died thinking her life had been for not. Sarah did not meet Rivkah her daughter-in-law to be. Sarah did not have the privilege of dancing at Isaac's wedding. Sarah did not enjoy her grandchildren. Sarah died at the age of 127 years. She did not live to realize the fulfillment of many of her dreams.  This is how death is. When one dies, one cannot complete their plans.

Now Avraham 'Again' takes a wife. As we shall learn in Genesis 25 taking a wife again was in reference to Keturah. Hagar became a seriously observant woman with an excellent reputation. Hagar's Torah Observance was so great the community called her ketubah meaning one who is beautiful. This was a complement toKeturah from among the community regarding her Torah Observance.

We can use this example of the struggle between Sarah and Hagar and Yishmael and Yitzchok as a guide to family members who have been mean and who have rejected us. Notice how Hagar became beautiful. Notice how Yishmael the older brother honored Yitzchok. Notice how Yishmael set aside his honor for Yitzchok. Both Keturah and Dismal were humble and contrite. Both were invited back to be apart of Avraham's live and live in him home.  When individuals reverse improper actions such as Hagar and Yishmael did they should be invited back.  They should be welcomed with open arms.

On the other hand when relatives continue in the same deceitful pattern and using the same mean tactics as in the past they cannot be welcomed back. They remain bogged down with the same issues as in the past.  Nothing has changed except time.

Leviticus 25.10

And you shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all the inhabitants of it; it shall be a Jubilee to you; and you shall return every man to his possession, and you shall return every man to his family.

The Gematria of 570 is among one of my favorites.  From early in the days when I returned to Yiddishkeit I have deeply cherished its special message.

In the Shema we {the Jewish men from thirteen years and up} are Commanded by God in Ha Torah, 'Place these words of Mine upon your heart and upon your soul; bind them for a sign upon your arm and let them be Tefillin between your eyes...'

In our daily prayer Siddurs Artscroll translates the word לְטוֹטָפֹת Lih Toh Taw Poht meaning frontlets as  תְּפִלִּין Tefillin. Rabbi Menachem Davis, Editor, The Shottenstein Edition Siddur for Weekdays, (Brooklyn, NY: Mesorah Publications, Ltd., First Edition, 2002), p 134

The Gematria of  לְטוֹטָפֹת is 534.

Each morning at the time of prayer, Shacharit, we don our Tefillin with special blessings.  It is a routine, a good routine.  It is a habit, a good habit.  But wearing Tefillin is more than that.  I don't suppose that those who wear Tefillin have ever felt the HEAVY WEIGHT of the obligation of fulfilling the mitzvah. Wearing Tefillin is a sign.  It is a sign of the generations passed from Father to son to grandson.  It is a sign of responsibility!  It is a sign of maturity.  It is a sign of one's Jewishness.  It is also a sign of Gematria.

The Gematria of Tefillin is 570.

תְּפִלִּין

Tefillin

ת400 פ80 ל30 י10 נ50 = 570

One should note that any challenge to not wear their Tefillin comes from Yetzer Raw, meaning  evil inclination.  I do not designate or preface evil inclination with the letter ה 'Hey' meaning 'the',  as some do, because using the letter in front of Yetzer Raw designates the word with a definite article.  Having the Yetzer Raw / Evil inclination is difficult enough. Why would any of us want to lay the royal carpet in front of the Yetzer Raw. Why classify the evil inclination with a  definite article? My Rabbi argues with my 'grammar' here. With due respect of this objection, there are many variations in Hebrew Letters and Words and I think this should be one of them.   Why should the word Yetzer Raw receive the same honor given to other names and titles?  Why should my personal tester - my יצר רע Yetzer Raw / Evil inclination receive the Letter Hey if front of it? I argue,  It should NOT!  The Gematria for Yetzer Raw is 570.

יצר רע

Yetzer Raw / Evil inclination

י10 צ90 ר200   ר200 ע70 = 570

In the Midrash evil inclination is written often as / יצר רע Yetzer Raw. We should also note that the God given responsibility of Yetzer Raw is to test us.  Our father Avraham Aveinu was tested Yeh Sehr meaning "Ten" {times}  He passed each test, thank God!  The Gematria for ten is 570.

Unfortunately there are times in life where we are forced to face an evil man, an evil person.  To say they are unpleasant to deal with does not come close to the level of frustration they attempt to invoke.  That individual is  NOT Yetzer Raw.  That person is Raw Shaw, meaning evil / wicked.  There is a difference between the two.  One is a tester sent to test and strengthen us, the other is a destroyer sent to ruin us, God Forbid!    We deal with both in the same manner.  We don our royal crown.  We don our Tefillin.  Our Tefillin is the sign that we are obedient to our King, The Lord, and His Commands and His Torah.  We wrap our weaker hand and arm with Tefillin as a form of "SPIRITUAL ARMOR" and by fulfilling the Commandment of Tefillin we defeat Yetzer Raw and Raw Shaw, thank God.  The Gematria for Raw Shaw is 570.

רָשָׁע

Raw Shaw

ר200 ש300 ט70 = 570

Vayikra 25.10

Leviticus 25.10

And you shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all the inhabitants of it; it shall be a jubilee to you; and you shall return every man to his possession, and you shall return every man to his family.

יוֹבֵל הִוא תִּהְיֶה לָכֶם

Law Chem Yoh Vayl Hee Tee Hih Yeh

It shall be for you a Jubilee

י10 ו6 ב2 ל30    ה5 ו6 א1 = 60

ת400 ה5 י10 ה5   ל30 כ20 ם40 = 510

570 = 60 + 510

Now there is much, much more to the Gematria 570 including but not limited to Yoh Vahl  Hee   Tee Yeh  Law Chem, meaning 'It shall be for you a Jubilee.' Leviticus 25.10.  In other words, wearing Tefillin is an expression of freedom.   Observing the mitzvah of putting the Tefillin on, which is like the accumulation of seven Sabbatical years {7 x 7 = 49} in that it is approaching the fiftieth year, the year of Jubilee, just as wearing Tefillin is a spiritual act whereby one elevates towards the fiftieth level.  Wearing Tefillin is an expression of our superiority over Yetzer Raw and Raw Shaw.

There are many other expressions that reinforce the powerful sign of donning Tefillin and reciting the Shema and Shemoneh Esrei.  This is a very deep subject!

Rev Shlomo Carlebach related the following story at the Lubavitcher Rebbe's funeral. He said that there was no distance between the Rebbe and every other Jew in the world. He said when one would come before the Rebbe  that the Rebbe knows you. He knows you in this life or in a previous life. Rebbe Shlomo said that while doing a concert in Israel a non religious Yid came up to him. They talked.  He was becoming reform. Shlomo asked him a question. What turned you on?

He said, I got divorced. My children don't talk to me. I feel very lonely. I have children. Then one morning there's a bang on his door. He opens the door and two Yidden with beards are standing outside.

They said to him, We are coming to you in the name of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. He wants you to put on the Tefilin.

The man says,  What? The Lubavitcher Rebbe wants me to put on Tefilin. He thinks, Hummmm... There is a Yid in the world that cares so much for me that he wants me to put on Tefillin.  Dear Reader the Lubavitcher Rebbe knew the power of wearing Tefillin.

Yid I would really appreciate it if you would join with me by sharing in the mitzvah of putting on Tefilin...

Genesis 24

The Blessing Of Abraham

Of all the Chapters in Ha Torah, The Holy Scriptures Genesis Chapter 24 is perhaps my favorite. Chapter 24 follows Abraham's offering of Issac and the death of his beloved wife Sarah.  Abraham was a very important man. He cast a huge shadow. We observe the intoxicating presence of Abraham Chapter by Chapter.  He was very powerful. Yet, Abraham was a humble man. He was a kind man, a loving man, a caring man. He was a war tried veteran. He was a seasoned politician. He was an influential man. He was careful. He was the husband of two wives. At this time he was the father of two sons and a few years later many sons. He was a widower. He was extremely wealthy.  Abraham was an astrologer. And most important of all Abraham had an awareness of The Lord God beyond what we can imagine. Abraham's faith in the Lord God is a beacon of light for each of us. Abraham's devotion to the Lord God is unparalleled. His obedience to The Instruction and direction of The Lord God is  unapproachable. Abraham believed The Lord God. Abraham was a Novie / a Prophet. Yet His Wife Sarah was greater.  Abraham had the qualities of a Patriarch. Sarah had the qualities of a Matriarch. Soon Abraham would learn Sarah was gone. However, now, Abraham turned his attention to Isaac.

As Abraham and Isaac journey from their  experiences on Mount Moriah among the things that occur to Abraham was the  thought if Isaac had of died on Mount Moriah he would not have fulfilled the Mitzvah / the Observance of having children. It is God's Desire for us to father and mother children. The awareness of Isaac dying without children was interrupted by a revelation from the Lord God recorded in Genesis 21.20 - 24. The Lord God Informed Abraham that Isaac's Berschert, i.e. His God appointed mate Rebekah was born to his Brother, Nachor's eighth son Bethuel. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 817.

At this time Abraham was 137 years of age, Sarah was 127 years of age. Issac was 37 years of age. Abraham was ten years older than Sarah.

Abraham was one hundred years of age when Isaac was born.

Genesis 21.5

And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born to him.

In Chapter 23 we learned that Sarah died at 127 years of age.

Another area Abraham contemplated on as he and Isaac departed Mount Moriah was how he and Isaac looked like identical twins. Abraham was youthful. Up until this time people did not show or experience aging. All humans were youthful. The human body did not show age. Humans did not experience age as we know it today. Up until Abraham there was no old age, i.e. age did not mark a person. There were no wrinkles. There was no gray hair. The body did not experience the aches and pains of aging. Bones were not hard and brittle. The body remained youthful. Whoever wished to speak to Abraham would speak to Isaac, and the reverse would happen. Why because sons were identical looking as their fathers. Daughters were identical looking as their  mothers. Then Abraham prayed for distinction among people and old age came into existence, as it is written, 'And Abraham was old and well-stricken in age.' Bava Metzia 87a

As we begin Genesis 24 we are going to move away from discussing Isaac for a few pages to discuss Abraham's great and vast wealth.

Abraham Was Blessed As He Departed Haran.

Abram had substance and servants.

Genesis 24.1

Abraham was an Elder with many days and The Lord Blessed Everything from Aleph to Tav of Abraham in everything.

At this point in Abraham was only 140 years of age. He would live another 35 years. Is it strange for this statement to be located in this place?  Perhaps it is. Yet there is a purpose for everything. In Chapter 24 we are provided the opportunity to view a few weeks in Abraham's life.

Dear Reader, Chapter 24 follows with many,  many examples how HaShem Blessed Abraham in everything. The Gematria of  וַיהוָֹה בֵּרַךְ  Vah HaShem Bay Rahk meaning And The Lord Blessed is the Gematria 254. דְּרָכֶיךָ Dih Raw Kheh Chaw neaning in your way is also the Gematria 254.

Genesis 23

Chayei Sarah's Death

When one dies one cannot complete their plans.

My Mother of blessed memory realized a short time before she died that she would not live to see the fulfillment of all her dreams. We spoke shortly before Momma entered eternity. Mother shared with me somewhat like Jacob shared with his sons before he entered the next life. Momma was busy about setting everything right. She wrote letters. She asked forgiveness of any individual she perhaps may have hurt. At that time, in my eyes she went way overboard to make sure her slate was very clean. My Mother was a very Holy Woman. She would grieve over her mistakes like few I have known. Mother took living righteously very seriously. Mother had an awareness she would soon be entering the next life soon. She checked and rechecked. She reviewed and reviewed her past. She wanted to enter the next life entirely righteous before her Maker. Many have been taken into the next life without notice. Many did not have the opportunity Momma had.

The other day I was speaking with a friend who works at a Senior's Center. She was sharing with me and another individual of folks who left home in the morning and did not return. Their life was snuffed out by...

So we are discussing death, yet our focus is on what Sarah went through to have this miracle baby, Issac that she only enjoyed for 37 years. In Chapter 21 we read of The Lord God Giving Abraham the promise of a son. We read that his names was to be Yitzchok, Isaac.

We read that The Lord God would continue the Covenant of Abraham with his son Isaac.  So if you are Sarah and you just received really bad news, Isaac was sacrificed. How would you feel? What would run through your mind? Would you be angry with Abraham? Would you also be angry with The Lord God for giving you a precious child then taking him away? What about the covenant Promised by The Lord God? Would you question, what happened to the promise that Isaac would receive the Covenant of Abraham? How would that happen now? Sarah experienced being the captive of two very powerful men, the king of Egypt and the king of Gerar. She was the good wife. She left here family behind. She traveled with Abraham. She gave Hagar to Abraham to have a son by her because up until then she was ninety, she could not have children. Then after Isaac was born and grew Yishmael and Isaac were seen in a field quarreling over who should receive the double portion set aside for the firstborn. Ishmael was the firstborn of Hagar. Isaac was the firstborn of Sarah. Yishmael made sport of Isaac by shooting arrows around him. This is when Sarah informed Abraham that the son of the slave woman would not inherit with her son Isaac. This is when Yishmael and Hagar were sent out by Abraham in Genesis 21.9 - 14. Rabbi Avrohom Davis, The Mesudah Chumash A New Linear Translation Bereishis (Hoboken New Jersey, KTVA Publishing House, Inc., 1991) p 220

We see how Sarah kept a close eye on her son. We see that Sarah was protective of her only son, her hope of the future. Then this happens. Abraham takes Isaac to Mount Moriah to offer as a sacrifice. Hearing the lie that Isaac was dead was an awful blow. She was so devastated that she died upon hearing this awful news...

One morning many years ago on September 2nd I came downstairs from my bedroom to the kitchen on the main floor for breakfast. My Mother was crying. I was young and felt so sad to see my Mother crying. I inquired. What is a matter? My mother said today is your brother Donald Wayne's birthday. There was no comforting my Mother. My Brother, Donald Wayne passed away at the age of 2 months and 17 days old on December 2nd 1938. He died from pneumonia. May he rest in peace. Each February 21st my mother would cry for my brother Gary Lee may he rest in peace.  Seeing my Momma cry and hurt so much at such a young age was very difficult. Mother ALWAYS remembered the birth dates and Yahrzites / Death Anniversary of my brothers. It was always painful and tearful. There was no relief for my Mother on these days. My Father, may he rest in peace moved on. He could not understand my Mother mourning the deaths of her two sons. Revi mourns the death of her daughter Carrie, may she rest in peace. And like my Mother, several days leading up to Carrie's death Revi cries. Like my Mother Revi cannot be comforted. Revi has shared with me the connection she felt with her children from conception. A Mother feels the baby move, sleep and kick inside her. A mother feels the birth and feeding pains. Can we imagine what it is like for a mother whose children die before them? Can we imagine the hurt and suffering and tears?

Our Matriarch Sarah went through so much to get to the  birth of Isaac that the news of his death, even though it was a lie, killed her. Sarah's heart broke in two. She died. Sarah lived a life of Holiness. She was prepared to enter the next life when called home. Yet, that does not mean Sarah wanted to leave Abraham and Isaac. Death is sad. Death does bring sadness. I look at my Mother as a lady like Sarah.

Vayikra 19.3

 אִישׁ אִמּוֹ וְאָבִיו תִּירָאוּ וְאֶת־שַׁבְּתֹתַי תִּשְׁמֹרוּ אֲנִי יְהוָֹה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם:  ד

Leviticus 19.3

Man shall fear his Mother and his Father  and everything from Aleph to Tav of keeping My Sabbaths; I am the Lord your God.

Why did our Creator place Sabbath alongside honoring one's Mother and Father? Are they connected? How are they connected? God Willing we are going to begin a gentle climb up to the answers over the entirety of this chapter.

Each of us are Children. This Chapter is about us. It is about our Parents who are children and their parents who are children and if we have children then our children who God Willing will have children. . In one way or another this is about everyone.

Our Creator allows many challenges. Sometimes the challenges seem insurmountable like climbing a great mountain, a 14,000 foot high mountain. Yet every mountain has a trail blazed to the top that can be conquered by steady, faithful diligence. In our Parshat this week we are considering the responsibility of honoring one's parents. Each of us has parents that we should honor. The Lord God places the Mitzvot / Observance  of honoring parents as perhaps one of the most important Commandments written in Ha Torah.  If an employer knew that the individual who they are considering for employment was disrespectful to her or his parents  would that make a difference? SHOULD RESPECTING ONE'S PARENTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO AN EMPLOYER? If an institute were considering an application for a potential student should they be concerned if he or she was rude or impolite to his or her parents? SHOULD RESPECTING ONE'S PARENTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE INSTITUTE OF HIGHER LEARNING? If a business owner were uncivil or insolent to the Mother or Father that labored to bring this child into the world and to provide for the child the best he or she could should this make a difference to his or her clients? SHOULD RESPECTING ONE'S PARENTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO CLIENTS OF THIS BUSINESS?

Let's consider these questions. Our country is governed by politicians who believe respect of parents is IMPORTANT!  How do we know this? The news media zooms in on the lives of ones parents. The news media shows parents and family members sitting in the audience and on  stage with their political daughter / son or relative. Why is it so important that the politician have the noticeable support of parents, spouse, family and relatives?  This is supposed to send us a message of family unity and of parental approval of the child. Why do  politicians speak of the labors of their fathers and mothers in their speeches? Well, if a  politician cursed his or her parents or was rude or impolite to his or her parents how would this play out in the media?   Politicians are fired by their supporters for marital infidelity all the time. So how well do you think political supporters would respond to parental abuse? Is it odd that so many Americans do not give high approval ratings to Congress or many political leaders? Many voters consider politicians to be liars...  deceptive... dishonest... whether they are or not. Yet the men and women who run for office feel the need to show the world how much their parents support and believe in them.  Are they trying to make a statement with us? Are they saying to the voters because my parents are in the audience and on the stage etc., you should trust me and you should vote for me because I am a good kid? I love and respect my parents. What is the message they are trying to convey?

If a man does not respect his mother will he respect his wife? If a woman does not respect her father will she respect her husband? If a man has issues with his parents will he have issues with his children? If a woman has issues with her parents will she have issues with her children?

CAN WE SEE HOW ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS RELATE?

If a man divorces his wife... if a woman divorces her husband... The children will be greatly impacted!! The husband / father will be impacted the wife / mother will be impacted each set of parents and relatives will be impacted.

EVERYTHING we have mentioned in this chapter thus far comes down to respect for parents.

All religions come together on this point. All beliefs teach RESPECT FOR PARENTS! This is a fundamental principle. Respect for parents is the foundation stone for every religion.

Having lived in the world before Torah Observance and then in the World after Torah Observance I saw the difference. I learned the difference. The difference is very great.

A man or woman that does not honor... esteem... hold in high regards his or her parents is an individual that is in serious trouble!!

Before we delve into the degree of trouble a child is in who does not respect both her or his mother and father  we need to discuss the influence on a child from a divorced home. Sometimes a child is NOT at fault entirely. When the husband and wife divorce often children become victims of their parents and relatives revenge and rage. There is a story that is supposed to be humorous that helps to better explain this.

Two Jewish women were sitting next to each other under hair dryers at the hairdresser.

The first lady says, 'How's your family?'

The second lady responds, 'Just fine. It couldn't be better! She was so happy as she went on to share about her daughter.  My daughter is married to the most wonderful man. She never has to cook, he always takes her out. She never has to clean, he got her a housekeeper. She never has to work, he's got such a good job. She never has to worry about the children, he got her a nanny. Life couldn't be any better for her.'

The second lady ask the first lady, 'So how about you? How is your son these days?'

The first lady says, 'Awful. It couldn't be worse... My son is married to such a witch of a woman. She makes him take her out to dinner every night. She never sets a foot in their new kitchen.  She made Sam get her a housekeeper, God Forbid that she should vacuum a carpet or clean one of their five bathrooms.  He has to work so long and hard.  Why? Because that little princess will not get a job. With all her bridge parties she never takes the time to care for their children.  She demanded that my son hire a butler and a nanny. They live in the servants quarters at the back of the house. Life is horrible for him. Life could not be any worse for my son...'

Then they got from underneath their hair dryers and realized that...

Even though this couple was married and living together we see the same story as told from two completely different positions. The stories are so different it is difficult to believe they were speaking of the same two  people. Divorce can be somewhat like this. It can be challenging for children from relationshipls like this.  Poor relationships muddie the waters.

Years of non Jewish learning muddies the waters. Much sorting out has to be done. It takes weeks, months, years and possibly a lifetime to work through all the conflicts! Yet for the Jew who reestablishes Sabbath Observance there is a break in the conflict! There is a path to follow!

Vayikra 18.30

Leviticus 18.30

And You shall guard everything from Aleph to Tav of My Charge to you, to not do any of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and do not become defiled through them; I am The Lord your God.

In the previous Chapter we concluded with a caution to stay on the Path of Ha Torah.  Staying on the Path of Ha Torah can be a challenge.

For example: It easy to become angry and say and do the wrong things. It is easy to let one's mind, thoughts eyes stray from the path of Ha Torah... How do we face these challenges?  Facing challenges is not new to our people. In the past we have been surrounded by abominations intended to attract us to sinfulness like when The People of Israel were surrounded by abominations while living in the BaMidbar / Wilderness.  There were nations intent on drawing us into there abominable customs. We had to draw together like eaglets drawn to the protection of their mother and covered by her wings.  The sin that was all around us could not be permitted in Eretz Canaan.  The People of Israel had to separate from these iniquities.  The People of Israel had to live by a higher standard.

People who have not taken the time to carefully study The First Five Books of The Bible and who may not understand or know anything about The 613 Mitzvot / Commands from The Lord God written in The First Five Books of The Bible may take the position that the 613 Observances of Ha Torah are done away with. Many have been indoctrinated from conception to beliefs taught by their parents, their parents customs, traditions, religions just as we who Observe Ha Torah are supposed to do with our children. They believe they are correct. We believe we are correct. Many of them are zealous just as many of us are zealous. Only The Lord God knows the Truth!  Only the Lord God Knows how we will each come together in peace at some point in the future. I am saying that today as it was in the days of Moshe people who have been raised differently than us. They have different understandings of The Lord God than we have. Some try to persuade us to act like them, believe them etc. We MUST have a great deal of resolve to be understanding with them and to show kindness. Still we must remain committed to the Observances of Ha Torah. Dear Reader, lets think about this. We are supposed to be the Holy People. We are supposed to be the example.  This means we CANNOT act as they do. Our actions must follow the Path of Ha Torah. If they curse at us we MUST follow the Path of Ha Torah. If they are mean to us we MUST follow Ha Torah.  If they try to entice us we MUST follow the Path of Ha Torah. We MUST NOT ACT LIKE THEM!!

Just as The Lord God charged The People of Israel then, we are charged now! The Lord God Said,

Leviticus 18.30

And You [The People of Israel] shall guard everything from Aleph to Tav of My Charge to you, to not do any of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and do not become defiled through them; I am The Lord your God.

Now we are back to the question, How are we to do this?  Well, simply put, we stand guard over our lives, over our family, over our neighbor, over our house, over our block, over our community, over our city and over our nation...

The point is that we are our keeper and we are our brother's keeper.

When I was single my next door neighbor's were  the Kohn's. I lived in the basement of the house next door. They were very very special neighbors. They were like parents to me. Rabbi Kohn was always checking on me. If I did not daven / pray as part of the morning minyan at our congregation the Rabbi would ask me the next time we met where I davened that morning. A Minyan is group of ten Jewish men above the age of twelve.  When one davens they pray.

On Sabbath, I would hear this tapping on my basement window. It was my neighbor, Rabbi Kohn.  I could hear him saying, 'Akiva!  Akiva! It's time to walk to shul for morning prayers.'  He wanted to make sure I was up and about.  He wanted to make sure I was going to be at the congregation for morning prayers.

On one Erev Sabbath he was on his way to services. I just pulled up to my apartment in my old brown truck. He was going to wait for me to get ready so we could walk to congregation together. I said, I need to go to the store quickly.

He said, 'What for?'

I said, 'I need a few things?'

Rabbi Kohn said, 'What do you need? It is almost time for Sabbath to begin?'

I said,  'A few groceries and some whiskey.

Rabbi Khon was a short man but that did not get in his way.  He reached up to me with both hands and firmly took hold of my lapels and pulled me down right in front of his face and firmly but kindly said, 'Akiva listen to me! You come eat a my house this Sabbath. You drink all the whiskey you want at my house. Now, park your truck. Empty your pockets. Let's walk together. It's time to Observe Sabbath.'

What could I say? I did as instructed. I ate all three meals with the Kohn's. It was real special. That Sabbath Rabbi Kohn invited a guest to come dine with us after Evening Prayers. He invited a Chassidic Rabbi from Israel, may he rest in peace.  Dear Ones, we MUST care about each other. We must be like the soldiers whose motto is not to leave anyone behind.  Then in addition to us caring about our own we MUST show gentle loving care and be kind to all humans, i.e. the Noachide.

The Lord Chose us, the Jewish people, as His people.  The Lord Chooses Eretz Yisroel as the earthly location for His Dwelling place, the Bet HaMikdosh, the Holy Temple.  When I say Holy I am saying 'SEPARATED'. The OBSERVANCES of The Mitzvot of Ha Torah Make The People of Israel Holy, Make the Temple Holy, Make the City of Jerusalem Holy, Make the Land of Yisroel Holy. Our Creator Say's They are Holy. Our Creator Gave us guidelines to make sure this Holiness remains. The Lord God Has Selected each of these to be Holy. It is our duty as the Jewish People to keep these important Observances.  We are the ones who follow the directives that separate The Holy Things.

WHY is this important?

The Lord God Set a standard between The People of Israel and the other nations and beliefs of the world.  The Lord God Set a standard between The People of Israel  and the Levium.  The Lord God Set a standard between the Levium and the Kohenim! Each standard requires a greater degree of separation, Holiness.  The standard begins with being born Jewish and continues from this point onward. This standard cannot be achieved through any other means.  No amount of learning or number of degrees will achieve the standard set down in the Torah by The Lord God!  No amount of Holiness will achieve that standard set down by The Lord God in Ha Torah!

Some religions teach the Observances written in Ha Torah, i.e. the standards set by The Lord God  have been discarded. Some teach that they have been eliminated. Some teach they have been superseded. It is for these very reasons and others that The Lord God Said to The People of Yisroel:

Vayikra 18.30

Leviticus 18.30

And You shall guard everything from Aleph to Tav of My Charge to you, to not do any of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and do not become defiled through them; I am The Lord your God.

This is why we we, The People of Yisroel REJECT ANY NOTION THAT HA TORAH IS FULFILLED, THAT THE TORAH IS COMPLETED, THAT THE TORAH IS SUPERSEDED!  It is our responsibility to guard every Observance of Ha Torah with all that we have! The Gematria for  וְלֹא תִטַּמְּאוּ בָּהֶם Vih Loh Tee Tah Mihoo Baw Hehm, meaning 'and you shall not defile yourselves through them' {any of the abominable customs...},  is 540.

Leviticus 14.43

And if the disease comes again, and break out in the house, after he has taken away the stones, and after he has scraped the house, and after it is plastered; Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the disease has spread in the house, it is a malignant leprosy in the house; it is unclean. And he shall break down the house, its stones, and its timber, and all the mortar of the house; and he shall carry them out of the city into an unclean place.

A while back, in a separate discussion not in this book, in Shemot Shemot we discussed Shuvah / Repentance. At that time I stated  many of the world's population were preparing to turn over a new leaf in the secular new year.   Then a few weeks later while studying in Parshat Beshalach I stated, 'We have entered our fourth week from Parshat Shemot / January 2000.' Already many who made a determination to alter their poor or improper actions, to do shuvah / repentance to be free from habits... from bondage... and from problems have fallen. During the past three weeks we discussed the monsters that bring us down, that help us fall and that help us to fail.'

Well, Dear Reader, we are now 13 plus years from that date where many made a determination to change.  That being the situation, we must assess where we aret.  Have we returned to the bondage we so desperately attempted to escape from?  Have old habits / addictions crept back?  Have we fallen?

If the answer is perhaps or yes please do not become discouraged. There is HOPE!! There is a Spiritual Season for Freedom. There is a  festival for freedom, a special time that  The Lord God Created for us to deal with those issues that have bound us. It is during this time frame that we can deal with everything about our nature, our shortcomings, our failures and our struggles more than we could ever. imagine.   This is one reason why The Lord stated in Parshat Metzozo

Vayikra 14.35, 26

Leviticus 14.35 - 45

And he who owns the house shall come to the priest, tell him, saying, It seems like there is a disease in the house. Then the priest shall command that they empty everything from Aleph to Tav of the house before the priest shall go in to see everything from Aleph to Tav of the disease, so that all that is in the house not be made unclean; and afterwards the priest shall go in to see everything from Aleph to Tav of the house.

Notice the Words  אֶת־הַנֶּגַע Eht Ha Naw Gah meaning everything from Aleph to Tav of the disease. There are several connections that we must make here.

First, The owner of the house calls the Kohein / The Priest. Why does the owner call The Priest?  It is because  נֶּגַע Naw Gah, i.e. this disease is not a medical issue.  נֶּגַע Naw Gah is a Spiritual issue. Dear reader many of the problems that we have are spiritual in nature. These issues must be brought before The Lord God. Our Sages Teach we are discussing a disease that results from speaking Loshon Hora, i.e speaking evil... gossiping...

Second, the owner of the house must go to the Priest. The owner must take the initiative for help. The one who owns the house has the problem. The one who has the problem must come to the realization that he / she has the problem and seek the assistance of the Priest. Note Ha Torah Does NOT Say a Rabbi. The Priest is set aside. The Priest is anointed. The Priest has a special High Level of Holiness. This is not a slam against Rabbi's. This is simply explaining why one must go to a Priest. Aharon was the High Priest as well as a Rabbi!

Third the owner who has this problem must express to The Priest that he has a potential problem and request help from The Priest.

Fourth The Priest becomes involved. The Priest has everything not attached to the house removed. The items are carried outside for all the neighbors to see. This now becomes an embarrassing humbling acknowledgement for the owner to his / her neighbors that he / she has a problem. This is an opportunity for all neighbors to come together to be loving, kind, understanding and to reach out to their fallen brother / sister and to offer to help. This is NOT a time to judge!! This is a time to be compassionate! This is a time to restore if one has fallen.  Now I say 'IF' because this is not certain. The Word used in Ha Torah is   כְּנֶגַע Kih Neg Gah meaning 'Like a disease'. The determination has not yet been made. This only appears like a disease. So all the Jewish Community MUST be very careful NOT to judge during this examination or after even if this is found to be a disease!!

Fifth after all items in the house have been removed The Priest enters the house to examine,

אֶת־הַנֶּגַע '...the priest shall go in to see everything from Aleph to Tav of the disease...'

The Gematria for  אֶת־הַנֶּגַע is 529.  Mystically we are Informed that the purpose of the Priest's examination, For The Priest הַיְדַעְתֶּם Hah Yih Dah Tehm to know without any doubt that this is נֶּגַע.  The Gematria for  הַיְדַעְתֶּם Hah Yih Dah Tehm. is 529.

אֶת־הַנֶּגַע

Eht Ha Neg Gah

'...Everything from Aleph to Tav of the disease...'

א1 ת400   ה5 נ50 ג3 ע70 = 529

הַיְדַעְתֶּם

Hah Yih Dah Tehm

The Knowledge

ה5 י10 ד4 ע70 ת400 ם40 = 529

Sixth, The Priest, i.e. a Righteous man... a Spiritual man... He examines the possible issue. He must ascertain what the issue is. This is NOT left up to conjecture! This is NOT open to speculation. He will know!!

Seventh, He will offer the guidelines for treating the issue. Much of this is done in the view of the community. This is painful! It is shameful! It is now easy for the one desiring  freedom. Yet this is the path for this specific remedy. The path for each remedy must be completely followed.

My hope and prayer is for each of us to use the Seasons of Freedom to free ourselves of issues and to better serve our Creator by Observing His Commands.

Change the World with ONE Action

Chapter Four

Parshat Tazria

Leviticus 12.1 -13.59

Vayikra 13.13

Leviticus 13.13

Then the priest shall consider; and, behold, if the leprosy has covered everything from Aleph to Tav of all his flesh, he shall pronounce him everything from Aleph to Tav clean, he who has the disease; it is all turned white; he is clean.

There are individuals with sin rooted deep within them. Then there are individuals like this poor leper with all his sin exposed for the entire world to see. His sin is obvious to all who come in contact with him. His error remains for a short while then new skin is generated by his body replaces the old white skin with leprosy. He is clean. He is  טָהוֹר הוּא. He / She returns to the Jewish Community as a changed man / woman.

Vayikra 13.35, 36

Leviticus 13.35,36

And if the patch did spread much over the skin after his cleansing;  Then the priest shall look on him; and, behold, if the patch has spread over the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is unclean.

This is an individual who sin is deeper than the surface of the skin. Originally He / She was declared clean because the leprosy appeared to be just on the surface. Later it becomes clear that the leprosy is deeper rooted than the surface.

In Parshat Tazria there are two unique words each of which begins with the same letter, the letter ט Tet.  The words areTaw Hoor {clean} and Taw May {not clean}.

טָהוֹר

Taw Hoor {clean}

ט9 ה5 ו6 ר200 = 220

Taw May {not clean}

Judges 3.20

Ehud came to him [King Eglon who was very obese] while he was sitting alone in his cool upper chamber.  Ehud said, 'I have a Word of God for you,'  [King Eglon ] stood up from his chair, [even though standing was extremely difficult for him].

This may seem insignificant until you know the rest of the story.  Our rabbium state that anyone who recites Kaddish should stand.  Why?  If this extremely wicked king of Moav stood to receive a Word from God we should do likewise.  As a result this wicked king has altered the world.  Now millions of Yidden stand for Kaddish because of his single solitary action.  Dear Reader, in a similar way we can change the world.  One action can give light... Thomas Edison.  One action can give instant communication... Alexander Graham Bell.  One action can change the world.

A number of years ago I took a break from business around lunchtime to take care of some errands.  Sometimes while running errands I included two very special little friends, my year and a half old twin beagles, Kalie and Dov.  They provided so much company!  As we were returning from an errand, Dovie looked up at me with those big brown, sad eyes, as if to say, 'Could we please go for a run? Please!'  We were close to an area they particularly loved to run in.  Any time we are close to that area, they begin whimpering.  I know what they want!

We went to this area where they occasionally run.  Normally I let them out of the vehicle on a seldom used dirt road and they follow behind for aways.  Howeverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, on this occasion, Kalie picked up the scent of bighorn sheep and instead of running behind the vehicle he immediately turned to the left and began climbing this steep, rocky mountain like a billy goat.  It was absolutely phenomenal watching him go over rocks much larger than him, like a caterpillar with plungers on his feet.  Up and down and around and over the rocks he went with his heavy little brother behind him.  I stopped the vehicle, set the emergency break and jumped out, beckoning him to stop and to return to me.  It was as if Kalie was in a trance.  Nothing I said made any difference!   He was so concentrated and focused on following that scent that my words couldn't reach him.  Nose to the ground, tail waving in the air... then came the bellows, every third or fourth step, as only a beagle can do.  I knew he was gone and it seemed as if there was nothing I could do.

Both he and his brother were climbing farther and farther up the mountain.  I called to his brother, 'Dov!  Come Tatty!'  Dov stopped. He turned to look at me.  I gave him a loving motion to come back to me.  He did.   With that one action, he chose me over his twin brother, over his powerful instinct to hunt and over his desire to have fun.  He came down the mountainside right to me.  And there is no way I can tell you how proud I was!  We went to the vehicle, he got in, poked his head out the window, and began calling his brother.  These boys love each other very much.  About ten years later when my former spouse chose a different direction in life she took these little boys. I could have fought for one but how could I separate these two brothers? They were now older guys. They had been together since being in the womb. Back to the story -  It is very difficult for them when they are separated. Kalie was near the top of the mountain.  Dov was in the truck with me.  Kalie climbed over a thousand feet up the mountain side. He was out of my voice range and almost out of my sight. Dov began to howl and cry. He heard his brother beckoning in that high pitched sound of his. He halted in his footsteps and immediately began his return to us.

Dear Reader, this is an example of how one very positive, dedicated action can alter a situation.  Had Dov not returned to me, the hunt, the following of the scent could have lasted for days.  And certainly hours.  In the same way,  we can use our influence with those we influence and they will influence others.  One act can change the world.

That days the boys took off up the mountainside,  Interstate 70 was a few hundred feet away. The truck was parked on the dirt road and the mountain high mountain was next to it.  When the boys took off I immediately had visions of them chasing wildlife which is against the law and of them trying to cross this huge interstate with a four foot divider between east and west lanes. I was very worried this may be the last time I would see them alive.  I cried out to the Lord.  He Heard my desperate cry and somehow brought those two little beagle boys back to me.

Blessed be Hashem!

Leviticus 9.1

And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; And he said to Aaron, Take a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.

We know that there are times when Jews do what is righteous, pure, Holy and correct. The same can be said for the B'nai Noach. Then there are sometimes when Jews and non-Jews walk a too close to the edge. There is a gray area where the two sides meet. In the gray area there is a thin line between being pure, Holy and correct and from being evil, sinful and wrong. In the gray area one could easily drift from one side to the other if they were not careful. This is a difficulty of living in or near the gray area.  One can be shrewd in business and then quickly drift into improper business behavior. Therefore it is good to make a fence between the area we know to be pure, Holy and correct behavior from that of where the gray area begins. This way we are always careful to live in the pure, Holy and correct areas of life.

There was a sharp young businessman. He, his parents and grandparents were pillars of the Jewish Community. He and his wife had just returned from living in Israel. He returned to operate the family business so his parents could move to Israel. They owned businesses in America and in Israel. They were successful. They have a good name. The young couple rented a house in the community. After sometime the young man and a neighbor were talking. The neighbor indicated he would like to sell his home. The young man inquired how much he wanted for his home. The price was considerably lower than its actual value. The young man made the deal. Some of us might call this an awesome business deal. Others might say he swindled the neighbor. I don't know. After the deal was made the neighbor learned what the value of his property was worth and became angry.

So we must inquire, Was the young businessman responsible for educating the neighbor on the value of property in the area? Was the neighbor careless and reckless and just looking for someone to blame. I don't know! I don't know the entire story. This may have been an issue for the Community Rav to settle or the Bet Din / Jewish Court to settle. Did this young man break any local, county, state or government laws. I am not aware of any local, county, state or government laws that were broken. Yet, I ask, 'What is so different from grabbing the best deal possible from an unlearned, poor neighbor'  Wouldn't most people of the world rush down to their attorney and have a deal drawn up as quickly as possible before the neighbor learned of the true value?  Unfortunately yes!  So why are we discussing this? It is because, God Has His own Law that we are compelled to abide by. So the next question is did this young man break God's law?

Perhaps... We don't know the entire situation or the conversation between the parties. The matter was not brought before the Community Rav or a Jewish Bet Din.

This goes back to chapters one and two where we made a case that we are our brother's keeper and that we have a moral and ethical obligation to our brother.  How far does this care and goodwill for a brother extend? To what degree are each of us responsible for our brother? We have Ha Torah, God's Law, we have Rabbinic Law and we have our own Law.  This is why we Examine ourselves and grade our level of Holiness. No matter how righteous we are if we walk a little too close to the edge we could get into trouble.

Dear Reader, in Judaism we teach that one should not dress as the nations of the world.  We teach that our clothes should be modest.  We teach that men should wear gentlemen's apparel and that women should wear ladies' apparel.   We go to great lengths to dress in a very modest fashion.  We do this because we are NOT supposed to be like the other nations of the world. This is a form of building a line of modesty and keeping it.  Our actions MUST correspond with our way of dressing.

As observant Jews we make so much out of the fact we changed our pattern of daily worship.  We no longer prostrate ourselves before God with the exceptions of Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur.  WHY?  Why did we change our pattern of worship?   It was because the nations of the world prostrate themselves in their worship.  We changed because we are commanded to be different.

The point is that Jews have a higher power that we give account to and that we must ALWAYS be aware of  and act accordingly!!  We are supposed to be righteous!  We are supposed to be honest in our business dealings.  We are supposed to be above reproach! IT IS NOT GOOD TO ACT DIFFERENT IN BUSINESS THAN IN PRAYER...   IT IS NOT GOOD TO DRESS THE PART OF A RIGHTEOUS JEW YET CONDUCT BUSINESS LIKE SUTAN (SATAN), God forbid!!  God calls ALL JEWS to a higher level of righteousness.  Unlike the nations of the world, we are chosen... we are separated... we are elected to righteousness!  WE MUST LIVE LIKE IT!

Dear Reader, there are only seven days of the week however in a few places of the Torah Portion of the Bible we read about the eighth day as we do here in this Parshat of Leviticus. This has special meaning.  It was on the eighth day, 1 Nisan, the Jewish new year, the beginning of months, that our Mishkon service... our Temple worship began... וַיְהִי בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי equals the Gematria 504. Also there is a place in this weeks Parshat that is known as the center of The Torah portion of the Bible. The halfway point between the first half of the Torah and the second half of the Torah is marked by the words דָּרשׁ דָּרַשׁ Daw Rahsh  Daw Rahsh meaning to diligently inquire makes the center word of the Torah Inquiry! This is what our discussion is about. We are to  diligently inquire about our actions.

וַיְהִי בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי

And On the Eighth Day...

Vayikra 10.16 [The Center of Ha Torah]

Leviticus 10.16

And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burned; and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron, who were left alive, saying,

Few of us are anywhere near the level of the righteousness of Aharon's two sons who crossed the line a little. Crossing the line is serious, especially for a very righteous person, is quite serious. Yet we know,

Psalm 37.12,24

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord Will uphold him with his hand.

As noted above many translate 'The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:' However the correct translation is The Steps of the Strong are Ordered by The Lord and He Delights in His Way.

Judging and correcting one actions takes great strength. One must be just with their self. One must not be to strict or to lenient. This is a fine line to walk.

This is why we inquire about our actions.

Many years ago while sitting in a packed auditorium as a Junior High student at Morey Middle School in Denver, Colorado, I heard Principle George E. Mathes relate the following story.  Principle Mathes said, There was a little boy named Billie who was about twelve years. Billie worked for the local drugstore as a delivery boy.  He would ride all over town on his shiny red bike with chrome fenders.

One day Billie came into the local Ice Cream store which was located a block or so down the street from the drug store where he worked. He climbed up on the stool, sat down and ordered a ice cream shake. After ordering the ice cream shake he asked the owner, Mr. Fisher if it would be alright for him to use his phone for a local call.  Mr. Fisher said, Sure. Billie went to the end of the counter and made his call. Mr. Fisher over heard the following conversation.

Billie said, Hello, could I speak with the owner of Smith's Drug Store.

Mr. Smith answered, Yes! This is Mr Smith.

Billie inquired, Mr. Smith, I hear you are looking for a delivery boy.

Mr. Smith said, No! We have a delivery boy.

Billie said, I hear he is not doing a good job.  Are you sure you don't need a new delivery boy.

Mr Smith said, Our delivery boy is Billie Jones. He is johnny on the spot. He is polite to our customers.  He is quick to make his deliveries. We are very pleased with him.  You must be thinking about another delivery boy somewhere else.

Billie hung the phone up. His Ice Cream Shake was just about ready.  As Billie sat there enjoying his Ice Cream Soda. Mr Fisher asked Billie a question.

Billie I thought you were the delivery boy for Mr. Smith's Drug Store down on the corner.

Billie said, I am.

Mr Fisher asked, Can I ask why you called to see if Mr. Smith needed a delivery boy?

Billie said, Yes!  I was just checking up on myself.  I want to make sure Mr. Smith is pleased with my delivery service.

This is the type of attitude I am trying to draw out in this discussion. We need to check on ourselves. We also need to remember that when a strong man or woman fails the Lord Will help them back up again.

Leviticus 8.1-6

And the Lord Spoke to Moses, Saying, Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bull for the sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread; And gather all the Congregation together to the door of the Tent of Meeting / Tabernacle. And Moses did as the Lord Commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together to the door of the Tent of Meeting. And Moses Said to the congregation, This is the thing which the Lord Commanded to be done And he, Moses brought Everything from Aleph to Tav of Aharon and everything from Aleph to Tav of his sons and bathed them in water.

The word  וַיַּקְרֵב Vah Yah Kih Rayv means to draw, to bring inward or to bring into the midst.  The Congregation was assembled at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Then Moshe brought inward everything from Aleph to Tav of Aharon and everything from Aleph to Tav of the sons of Aharon.  What we are reading is, Moshe SEPARATED Aharon and his sons from The People of Israel / from The People of Israel on the outside of the Tabernacle.   He drew them into the midst of the Tent of Meeting.  The Presence of the Creator was there.  All Yisroel was focused on the entrance to the Tabernacle. This is represented by the Gematria 318.

וַיַּקְרֵב

Vah Yah Kih Rayv

To draw, To bring inward, To bring into the midst

ו6 י10 ק100 ר200 ב2 = 318

שׁוּבִי

Shoo Vee

To return to Torah Observance

To Obey the Commands of Ha Torah

ש300 ו6 ב2 י10 = 318

In Chapter one we discussed the Holiness ' purity required for the soul of the one that would bring flour as an offering for sin. The power of purity and the power of Holiness had to be representative of the one who brought the flour. I stated it had to be from one's heart. Bringing the offering of flour had to be more that a formality.  Our discussion in this Parshat is about the process for the High Priest and the Priests being drawn out from The People of Israel and into service in the Tent of Meeting. They had to be on a high level of Holiness to serve the Holy Soul that brings the offerings.

Feeling drawn into the midst of the Holy Tabernacle is not enough. One must Shoo Vee, i.e., Spiritually return. The Gematria for  שׁוּבִי is 318.

A unique way of looking at Biblical dates -

The Hebrew Scriptures have many dates. The People of Israel are required to pay attention to dates. What is the purpose of dates in The Scriptures? Specific dates like Passover, counting the Omer, The Festival of Weeks, Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur and The Festival of Booths require specific observances for The People of Israel.

What about other dates? Do we pay attention to other dates? Are other dates important? Every date is important. What I am trying to say is that each of us has a relationship with dates in The Holy  Scriptures. For Example, Those born in the First month have relationship to Passover. Those born in the second month have a relationship to the Holy Census of The People of Israel in the Wilderness. The construction of The Holy Temple began in the second month.

If one knows the day of their birth they can search The Scriptures to learn what may have happened on that day. For example, I learned that  '...the first day of the second month, in the second year after [The People of Israel] came out from the land of Egypt...' The Lord Instructed Moses to take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel. This day was the 31st day of the year.

The specific day of the year, one is born is their Gematria day number.  For example, אל El means 'to' or 'unto'. The Gematria of El is 31. El is also a Holy Name of God meaning 'Strength' and 'Power.'  The first occurrence of a Word with the Gematria 31 is in Genesis 1.3. ויהי Vah Yih Hee means 'was'.  God Said, 'Let there be Light and there WAS Light.'

ויהי

Vah Yih Hee

ו6 י10  ה5  י10 = 31

The 31st Word in The Holy Scriptures is האור Ha Ohr, Meaning 'The Light'. The 31st Letter in The Holy Scriptures is The Letter א Aleph. The א Aleph is the first Letter of The Aleph Bet, i.e. The Hebrew Alphabet.  The 31st Verse in The Holy Scriptures is Genesis 1.31 'And He, God Saw everything from Aleph to Tav that He Had Made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning, the sixth day.'

In the parshat this week, our attention is drawn to those who are not the planners of the Mishkon or the contractors or even the laborers. Yet, they are there. They are very important and their contribution is also important.

Frequently we receive mail from readers. Ocassionally a reader writes about feeling left out because they are not Jewish. And as a result, God Willing, I have written two Books entitled Would You Like To Be Jewish and the other is entitled God's Plan From the Beginning. I am excited! Kaw Naw Nah Hah Raw! They help each of us better connect with Judaism regardless of our background.

On one occasion a lady wrote in an E-mail that even the gentiles are God's Children and that God Created them also. This is certainly true. The world we live in does have many members and many religions. Her note was an excellent reminder for to be considerate, mindful and careful of others. We are not to blind ourselves of our neighbors or their important contribution. Yet, one should understand that jewishpath.org, jewishpath.com and jewishlink.net are Jewish websites with the goal of assisting those who are Jewish. However we also have bnti.us - B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC and 7commands.com which are designed for everyone to be a part.

In this Parshat we learn that the offerings given to build the Mishkon were requested of B'nei Israel, the Nation of the Covenant. These were offerings were from people who were commanded to be 'Shomar Sabbath', meaning people who guard the Sabbath. This they sanctified the Sabbath. They set aside Sabbath as Commanded in the Torah. They did their work on the other six days. Now it was from these people that The Lord commanded Moses to request the Terumah offering. What that meant was that God wanted the Mishkon, His future dwelling place, to be built from contributions by His people, B'nei Israel, who were COMMANDED TO BE separated from the rest of the world. That does not imply that the rest of the world is not important. Yet, on the other hand, it does draw a very straight line.

There is a difference between Jewish beliefs and beliefs of other 730 religions with some 35,000 splinter religions of the present world. In Judaism we, the Jewish people, are Commanded by God to follow the Torah. MSome of us do not. Gentiles are commanded by God to observe a portion of the Torah, I.e. the Seven Commandments which expand into many more Commands. Some observe these Commands and other do not know they exist.

Now if you're building a house, who do you want to build it? Do you want people who are observant to your Commandments or people who don't know they exist? Do you want people who identify with your ideology or people who object? Do you want people who live Judaism second by second or people who are acquainted with it? The issue here is simple, God chose B'nei Israel to build his Mishkon because they were separated to Him.

Originally God offered His Torah to the other sixty-nine nations of the world. They rejected His Torah. Only Kal Israel wholeheartedly accepted The Lord's Torah. So why would The Lord include nations that rejected Him in the building of his Mishkon?

Dear Reader, the fact is that you and many besides you want to be Jewish is for a reason. You relate to the Commands. You relate to the call. Chances are you will convert. Chances are you will be Jewish. Chances are you were called from before the beginning to be Jewish.

On the other hand, the fact is that often Jews feel somewhat left out, too. We are not the Levium who work in close contact with the Mishkon or the coming Beit Ha Mikdosh. We do not set it up or take it down. We do not work in the courtyards. Yet the fact is that even the Levium who have this close contact may also feel somewhat left out because the Kohanim are the ones who offer the blessings, light the Menorah and offer sacrifices. Yet the Kohanim could feel a little left out because only one of them can be the Kohen Godal, the High Priest.

My dear readers, our responsibilities are different, our positions of service are different, but we all are important to The Lord. Listen, originally from the beginning Adam was the High Priest. Adam was the ruler. Noach was a High Priest. Shem also known as Malki Zedek / King of Righteousness was High Priest. Later the priesthood was the responsibility of the tribal heads. It was because of the failings by the tribal leaders of B'nai Israel at the golden calf incident. That The Lord Separated the tribe of Levi unto Him and the house of Aaron as the Kohanim and Aaron himself as the Kohen Godal.

The tribal leaders {the former priests} had feelings about this matter, yet they understood that the tribe of Levi and the house of Aaron stood out in their righteousness. On the other hand, there were some righteous malcontents, so to speak, in Parshat Korach who were unhappy with The Lord's selections of Moses and Aaron, etc.

So what is the point to all of this? God has not left any of us out. There is a place for each of us!!We may feel left out but that is only our perception. We can connect to each other. We can connect to the Torah. We can connect to The Lord. Even though millions of names are not included in the building of the Mishkon, they are not left out. This being the situation, we do not read of anyone feeling left out during the building of the Mishkon. We do not read of contention. We do not hear of ego problems. B'nei Israel was focused on constructing the Mishkon built 100 percent right the first time around. There was a positive attitude that existed.

Rabbi Eli Munk discusses the importance of everyone. He asks,

"Why was a special accounting given for the silver hooks for the pillars {in Exodus 38:28}? Would not one total figure for all the silver used in the Tabernacle have sufficed? According to the Midrash, when Moses initially rendered his accounts to the people, he left out 1,775 shekels used in making the hooks for the pillars, for they were not visible. It was only after he became concerned that the Israelites might suspect him of wrong doing about the accounts, that with The Lord's help he happened to look at the pillars and was reminded of the hooks.

"This Midrash, explains Chasam Sofer, is referring to the fact that although the core of the nation of Israel comprised 600,000 righteous men, there were many worthy Israelites outside of this core, including women, children, and converts {over two and one half million}. Moses was concerned about how he would inspire holiness in those who did not belong to this nucleus {of 600,000}. The Lord then drew his attention to the deeper meaning of the hooks of the pillars, to show him that those who are not part of the core are to be hooked firmly onto the pillars, i.e., to the righteous, who form its inner core.

Vaw Veem, means hooks. The Letter ו Vav appears twice in the word Vaw Veem, hooks, and is shaped like a hook; similarly, the Letter ו Vav often serves as a coordinating conjunction / a connecting letter, in which case it attaches two Words etc.

The hooks signify "EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT." Those in the center of the core, those outside the core and those who are not Jewish. Everyone is important! Yet that does not mean everyone is the same. The hooks also symbolize a future time spoken of by the Novie Zechariah.

Zechariah 8:23

Thus said The Lord, Master of Legions: In those days it will happen that ten men, of all [different] languages of the nations, will take hold, they will take hold of the corner of the garment of a Jewish man, saying, 'Let us go with you, for we have heard God is with you.

Non Jews will take hold of the tzitzit on the corner of a Jewish man's tallit. Zechariah Teaches us that Jews will be clearly distinguished as Jews. Part of that distinguishing factor will be our tallit, our clothing... Non Jews will latch on... will hook on... will connect with the 'RIGHTEOUS JEW.' Many of us have a ways to go to reach that point.... If we continue to try we will eventually get there.

The Gematria for Vaw Vem is 62. This is also the Gematria of Bayn, meaning between.

וָוִים

Vaw Veem - hooks

ו6 ו6 י10 ם40 = 62

בֵּין

Bayn - Divided

ב2 י10 ן50 = 62

Genesis 1:4

'God, divided / separated between the light and the darkness...'

Genesis 17:7

'I will establish my covenant between Me and you and between your descendants after you throughout their generations for an eternal covenant, to be a God to you, and to your descendants after you.'

Exodus 31:12,13

'B'nei Israel shall guard {preserve} the Sabbath, to maintain the Sabbath for their generations {including the 21st century} as an everlasting covenant
between Me and between B'nei Israel it is an everlasting sign; for in six days The Lord Made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day, He abstained from work and He rested.'

So on one hand Bayn separates between light and dark and on the other hand Bayn connects between The Lord and B'nei Israel.

Let's notice how the Letter Vav connects the Holy Scriptures together.

The Gematria Mispar Godal of Vaw Veem is 622 which is the Gematria for
Bih Ree Tee, meaning "Covenant" and also for Ber Chot, meaning blessing. Those of the Covenant who contributed out of the generosity of their heart to the products for the construction of the Mishkon even though they were not of the central core received their special blessing.

Exodus 39:43

'...and Moses Blessed them.'

וָוִים

Vaw Veem - hooks

ו6 ו6 י10 ם600 = 622

בְּרִיתִי

Bih Ree Tee - My Covenant

ב2 ר200 י10 ת400 י10 = 622

בִּרְכַּת

Bee Rih Caht - Blessing

ב2 ר200 כ20 ת400 = 622

The righteous core received their blessing... and those connected to them received their blessing and those connected to them received their blessing.... etc. {this connection is NOT through intermarriage}

The connection comes from The Lord.

As we complete this time of Parshot study together my prayer is that we each are enriched and will desire to share what we have learned with others and to learn together in another book or course.

Lets look at Yaakov. Ha Torah Says Yaakov at the age of manhood, i.e. thirteen, was a man without fault. תָּם Tawm means perfect yet we do not translate Yaakov as being perfect. Now, in comparison Ha Torah Says Noach at the age of 600 was a righteous man perfect in his generation... There are three important points.

First

When The Torah portion of the Bible Says, נֹחַ אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים Noach was a righteous man, perfect... this was when Noach was 600 years old. His life of righteousness and perfection were well established over a very long period of time. He was Observed for 600 years. This says a great deal for Noach. In comparison, Yaakov's life was Observed in Ha Torah for only 13 years at the time of this witness.

Second Noach was married. This means that he was perfect in his marriage. Noach was a father. He was perfect in his relationship to his sons and daughter-in-laws. Yaakov was not married. He did not have any children or relatives. The Yud and Mem are missing from Yaakov's life. We do not see תָּמִים we see תָּם . When we Observe the Word used for perfection in Noach's life the Yud and the Mem are present. They are not present in Yaakov's life at the age of thirteen. Even though Tam means without fault, is Ha Torah Saying that Yaakov was complete with 134 more years to live? I think Ha Torah is Saying Yaakov has gone as far as a single man can. He needs a wife . He needs children. He needs relatives. How do we know this? The Gematria of 10י Yud and ם40 Mem equals 50.

תָּם Tawm means perfect yet we do not translate Yaakov as being perfect. We say he was without fault. Now, in comparison Ha Torah Says Noach at the age of 600 was perfect.

At the age of thirteen Yaakov is תָּם Tawm which is the Gematria of 440. At the age of of 63, i.e. 50 years later he leaves home to begin his pursuit of a wife, children and relatives. 13 + 50 = 63. The Yud and the Mem = 50. Consider that 7 weeks times 7 weeks is 49 and the next day we the Jewish people are at our height of Spirituality. It is Shavuot the 50th day. So one could say that Yaakov was perfect in one area of his life but not all areas. the Yud and the Mem often represent plural. If the Yud and the Mem were added to תָּם Tawm this could represent many levels of perfection.

Yaakov did not rush into marriage as did Eisov who married at 40 but was sexually active at 13. Yaakov was 77 years of age when he married Rochel and 83 when he consummated the marriage with Leah and a week later with Rochel.

Genesis 28.2

Arise, go to Padan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father; and take a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother.

From Yitzchok's Blessing we learn that he ratified his original Blessing. He did not consider himself tricked. His second Blessing was of his own free will. Yitzchok's instruction also indicates his disapproval of Eisov's actions in marrying Canaanite women. He Instructed Yaakov to take a wife from Lavan, his mother's brother. Yaakov did as his father Instructed him.

Soul Mate

Ha Torah is Teaching Jewish Women to marry Jewish men. The SoulMate of a Jewish person will be from B'nei Yisroel. Yitzchok Instructed Yaakov to not take a wife from among other belief's. Avraham Instructed his servant to not take a wife from among other belief's. One cannot find their SoulMate if they are seeking outside of their belief.

The SoulMate of a non-Jew individual, a Noachide will be from among B'nai Noach. Why? Our Creator separated B'nei Yisroel from among all people. B'nei Yisroel are called to a life of separation to a life of holiness that other people are not required to Observe.

B'nei Yisroel have certain Mitzvot to Observe. The Mitzvot for B'nei YIsroel are more than those for B'nai Noach. Dozens of times our Creator Said, דַּבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל 'Speak to the people of Israel... ' There is a reason for this. Certain Observances are only for B'nei Yisroel. This is in part why a non-Jewish man should marry a non Jewish woman. A non Jewish woman should marry a non Jewish man. Your SoulMate will not be Jewish.

There is reason The Torah Portion of the Bible describes Eisov with the Word Eesh in two different ways. It is like Eisov had two different faces. He has the good inclination and the evil inclination. When we Observe Eisov the man who is described as a farmer we see a man who has gone through a cleansing but still struggles with his impure and evil nature. He says he is going to kill his brother. This is the evil nature. He does not kill his brother. This is the good nature. He is going to meet his brother with 400 servants. His intent seems to be evil yet he hugs his brother and invites him to travel with him. Now we know that even though we see this Gematria shows the clean good side of Eisov we realize he has a very bad side. The Gematria for אִישׁ שָׂדֶה Eesh - Saw Deh, meaning, A Man of the Field, A Farmer is 620. The Gematria for being pure is 620.

We have the Eisov type men. They give the appearance that they are clean and pure but what they do shows otherwise. They use Torah as a cover for their actions.

What Do I Believe About Rabbi Jesus?

Your comment gives me the impression that you are a 'BELIEVER'. I define a believer as a dedicated individual who is closed to the Truth.  A believer remains CONVINCED that Rabbi Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God and God even when the Truth shows this is impossible. A believer is CONFIDENT there beliefs are right. Nothing anyone writes or says will alter what they believe.

We agree that Rabbi Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote about. We agree that the Messiah must come from the Tribe of Judah.

Michah 5.1

But you, Beth-Lehem Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth to Me, he who is to be ruler in Israel; and his origin is from ancient time, from days of old.

Jeremiah 23.5 - 6

Behold, the days come, Says The Lord, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, "The Lord is Our Righteousness".

Psalms 132.11 - 12

The Lord has sworn in truth to David; he will not turn from it; One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne. 12  If your children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon your throne for evermore.

We both agree that Matthew 1.18 says Jesus was the son of Mary

'Now the birth of Jesus [who christians call] Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.'

We agree that 'IF" The Holy Ghost fathered Jesus then Joseph was not Jesus father. If The Holy Ghost Fathered Jesus then Joseph was at best only Jesus Step-Father.

Matthew informs us that Joseph was not Jesus father we cannot HONESTLY say or TRUTHFULLY CLAIM that Rabbi Jesus was from the tribe of Judah or of the seed of David based on his Step-Father's genealogy. So Joseph's Genealogy in Matthew does not support Rabbi Jesus as being from the Tribe of David or the seed of David.

Matthew clearly tells us that the genealogy in Matthew 1:16 was that of Jesus Step Father.  He wrote, 'And Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary of whom Jesus was born who [Christians] call Christ.'

I compared the Genealogy in Matthew 1.1 - 17 to the Genealogy in I Chronicles 1.27 - 3.19 and Observed that for some reason Matthew omitted 5 names from Rabbi Jesus Genealogy. The genealogies in Chronicles are well established. They were written more than 480 years before was written Matthew. They were vetted.

View Rabbi Jesus Genealogy Chart

Matthew states, 'So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.'

Does your Bible say this? This is WRONG! There were 19 generations from Babylon to Jesus birth. Matthew says there are 14 generations but there are actual 19. Someone is mistaken! This is an error! Who made this error? This is why I call the Christian writings The Foreign Testament. The writings have errors. They are not perfect. They have mistakes.

So what about Mary? Is the genealogy in Luke Mary's genealogy?  Christian scholars did not know there were two versions of genealogy until around the 17th century. When this was discovered they were obviously very concerned. What were they going to do? The Genealogies did not match. At that time it was suggested that one genealogy was Mary's and the other Joseph's. H. D. M. Spence and Joseph S. Exell editors, The Pulpit Commentary Volume 22 Epistles of Peter, John and Jude. The Revelation (Grand Rapids, Michigan, Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, reprint 1975) pp. 135, 169

HOWEVER,  this does not help Christians because Luke writes  Mattatha was the son of Nathan who was the son of David in Luke 3:31. This is a HUGE PROBLEM for Christians because the Messiah MUST be a descendant of Solomon who was a descendant of David.

2 Samuel 7.12 - 13

'And [David] when your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall issue from your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13  He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.'

Nathan the son of David in Luke 3:31 did not build The Holy Temple for The Lord God. Solomon built The Holy Temple for The Lord God. The Prophecy clearly states that the one who builds the Holy Temple for The Lord God is the one whose kingdom will be established forever.

So to conclude, Mathew 1:16 says 'Joseph was the husband of Mary'. Matthew 1:20 'Mary Your wife' Do you think it is alright to take another man's wife and impregnate her?

Matthew states that it was obvious to Joseph that Mary was pregnant and that 'he was not willing to make her a public example' and that 'he was going to put her away privily'.

Think about what Matthew wrote.  It obviously was a great surprise to Joseph to see that his wife was pregnant. Matthew says Joseph did not make her pregnant,  'before they came together'. What about Mary's mother? What about Mary's Father? What about Mary siblings? What about Mary's neighbors? What about the Jewish community Mary Lived in? What about Mary's girlfriends?

Christians don't know the Jewish procedure for marrying. How does a man take a wife in Judaism? There are so many unknowns that Christians should be asking. Why don't you ask these questions. Put yourself in the mother's shoes. If Mary was your daughter and all of the sudden she was pregnant at the age of 12 what would you think?  How would you react? Put yourself in the father's shoes.

Is one's imagination so impressionable that one would actually believe only Mary and Joseph knew she was nine months pregnant? How far does one have to stretch there imagination to believe this story? To what degree will Christians go to deny what is very obvious! The Lord God did NOT impregnate Mary!! Are you that easily persuaded? Are you this credulous?

It comes down to this. Do you believe what Rabbi Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5.22? 'Abstain from all appearance of evil.'

Do you think that impregnating another mans wife could have the appearance of wrong doing or evil?  I do!!

Do you think Joseph looked at his wife Mary being pregnant as being evil? I do!!

Dear Ones, some of the issues within Christianity and The Foreign Testament  result from poor translations.  Some issues exist because believers just don't really think about what is written within there own Testament and doctrines. When one comes to these ruff places in the road logic is very helpful.  For example if The Lord God says Humans should refrain from a particular action then Logic teaches us that The Angels, Spiritual Beings, and The Lord God also refrain from these actions also. This is the line of thinking when Rabbi Peter, i.e. the first Pope of the Catholic Church states in 1 Peter 1:15 - 16, 'But as he which has called you is holy, so should you be holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, You must be Holy because  I Am Holy.'

Rabbi Peter is telling Christians to practice logical thinking. If The Lord God is Holy then Christians are also suppose to be Holy. Rabbi Peter is quoting from Ha Torah, i.e

Leviticus 11.45

For I am the Lord that Brings you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be Holy, for I Am Holy.

Dear Reader this is Logic. So when The Lord God Says Birds, fish, animals, trees and flowers should each mate with there own kind this means Angels are prohibited from mating with the daughters of men as described in Genesis 6.2.

Genesis 6.2

Two of the Angels] of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful; and they took as wives all those whom they chose.

Genesis 6.4

There were 'the fallen' / Giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, because [two of the Angels] of God came in to the daughters of men, and [had relationships with them and] they bore children to them, the same became mighty men of old, men of renown [Giants].

Genesis 6.12 - 13

And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. And God Said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them [i.e. the two fallen angels]; and, behold, I will destroy them [the two fallen angels and the offspring] with the earth.

This is why the world then was destroyed.

What are the instructions God gave to Noach?

Genesis 6.17 - 20

And, behold, I, Myself, will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, where there is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with you will I establish my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20  Of birds after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.

So we see that The Lord God punished the world then and destroyed it because two fallen angels mixed there seed with that of humans which was NOT AFTER Their own kind. Therefore The Lord God would NOT violate any form of mixing seed as described in Matthew 1.18 and 1:20.

'Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost... But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.'

Using common sense and logic while studying The Holy Scriptures is absolutely necessary. One consider from the position of common sense and logic those claims that are not within  the realm of possibilities?

In Bereisheit / Genesis 1.11

11  And He, God Said, Let grass on earth [bring forth] grass, herb from their own seed, and the fruit tree making fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth; and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

21 And God Created the great giants, the great ones, and every being that is alive, that lives in the waters, according to its kind,  and every kind of winged birds, according to its kind and God Saw that it was good.

24  And God Said, Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

25  And God Made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Grass mated with grass and brought forth grass. Herbs mated with herbs and brought forth herbs. Fruit trees mated with their own kind and brought forth Fruit of their kind.

And God Saw it was good.  This means mating within one's own kind is good.  Mating outside of one's kind is not good.

Ha Torah Prohibits mixing diverse species together. This is called Kilayim meaning,  crossbreeding seeds. Their are nine types of forbidden mixtures.

1.mixed seeds

2 grafting trees

3 seeds in a vineyard

4 cross-breeding animals,

5 pulling cattle

6 mixing linen and wool in garments (shatnez).

7. Animals and humans

8. Angels and humans

9. God our Creator and humans

Kilayim is prohibited by Ha Torah. Our Creator FORBIDS altering species He Established and Created as an unwarranted tampering with the categories established by God's creation. The Jerusalem Talmud interprets the verse "My statutes you shall keep" as the laws of nature. Creation comes from God, implying that the alteration of a natural law or the modification of a species constitutes an impermissible violation of creation.  http://www.coejl.org/learn/bd_artson.php

James teaches engrafting in James 1.21. Paul teaches graphing in Romans 11:17; 19; 23-24 These are forbidden by The Holy Scriptures.

They alter what God Has Created! This is forbidden.

שָׂדֶה וְיַעֲקֹב אִישׁ תָּם ישֵׁב אֹהָלִים: כח

Genesis 25.27

And the boys grew up. And it happened, Eisov was a cunning man [at 13 years of age] a hunter, a man of the field and Yaakov was a man without fault dwelling in the tents [of learning at 13 years of age].

The Torah Portion of the Bible is speaking about the time when the boys turned thirteen as noted above. It was then that each became a man. Notice the usage of the Words אִישׁ Eesh. Eisov is described as עֵשָׂו אִישׁ יֹדֵעַ a cunning man. Mystically through Gematria we learn Eisov was on the path to wisdom but made a sharp turn in the wrong direction the day Avraham died. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), pp 1068 - 1074

With Eisov everything was a guarded calculation based upon his accumulated knowledge, Ha Torah is Informing us that Eisov was a wise man at the age of thirteen. He was clever. He knew how to deceive. He knew how to trick others.

He was skilled in achieving what he wanted by using deceit or evasion, i.e. indirect answers. In addition Yoh Day Ah can mean to know another sexually. By this we know that Eisov was sexually active. He was all about fulfilling physical pleasures. Some men are like Eisov. They are all about themselves. It should not take long to identify Eisov like characteristics.

We have the Eisov type men in our world. They give the appearance that they are on the path to Ha Torah but what they do shows otherwise. They use Torah Wisdom to only benefit themselves and to take advantage of others.

אִישׁ יֹדֵעַ

Eesh - Yoh Day Ah

א1 י10 ש300 י10 ד4 ע70 = 395

לְהַשְׂכִּיל

Lih Ha Seh Ceel

the path to Wisdom

ל30 ה5 ש300 כ20 י10 ל30 = 395

Chapter 4

Lunar Year / Solar Year

The Torah portion of the Bible Teaches we are to measure our time by the sun, moon and stars. So it is proper to measure accordingly.

Genesis 1.14

And God Said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the Heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years...

Judaism measures time several ways. We measure years F.C., i.e. From Creation.

Catholics and Christians for the past 431 years have been measuring time in terms of years from when they estimate Jesus was conceived. This would be from around 3760 F.C. From 3760 F.C. Christians measure back using B.C. Or measure forward using A.D. There is no zero year. Jews contribute to the confusion of this system of measurement by using BCE instead of BC and CE instead of AD. Our Creator confused the languages and we have confused just about everything else. For the most part, this paragraph will not be a part of the discussion.

A Lunar month in the Bible is the time between two new moons. A new moon is reached when the moon is closest to the Sun. A new moon is the first visible crescent of the moon after conjunction with the sun.. In terms of time a lunar month is 29 days, 12 hours and 44 minutes. A Lunar month consists of either 29 or 30 days.

In Judaism we are to Sanctify the moon. This is called, Kiddush Levanah. We say special prayers and blessings one evening, normally after Sabbath has past. We say these blessings outside of the synagogue when when we can view the moon. One may Sanctify the moon in individual prayer but it is best to do so in a minyan, i.e. with ten Jewish men above the age of twelve.

On one occasion I was saying  Kiddush Levanah at our Colorado mountain home which was close to a forest area. As I was saying the prayers a conversation with a local businessman slipped into my mind. He told me that he saw two mountain lions chasing deer on the street in front of our home around 11:00 at night. Can you imagine what it is like to  Sanctify the moon knowing a mountain Lion might be near by?

Dear Reader the point is that where ever Jews are, we are required to Observe Kiddush Levanah. This is a very important Observance because Kiddush Levanah was the first Observance given to the Children of Israel. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p. 89.

Our Sages Teach that on the First Day of the First Month that the Lord Said,

Exodus 12.1

And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the First Month of the year to you.

From this our Sages Teach that we should go out to meet the New Moon, i.e the New Month. Rabbi Yochanan taught that one who goes out to Bless the New Moon in its proper time is like one who greets God's Presence, i.e. the Shechinah. The second purpose has to do with the Jewish People's rebirth... The Jewish people in Egypt were in decline just as the moon is once a month. Then as the moon is reborn from it's lowest point so are the Jewish people reborn. Rabbi Menachem Davis, The Shottenstein Edition Interlinear Chumash Bereishis / Genesis, {Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. First Edition 1st impression 2007}, p 454.

Course Text Begins Here:

We begin our journey by attempting to set a foundation for the days of the week each event occurred on. Connecting the day of the week with the date the event happened proved challenging.

If one thinks back to the time before computers became a very large part of our lives, research was approached quite differently than today.  Around 1985 / 1986 Apple introduced the Mac Computer and later the Mac Plus Computer. That is when I became a computer person. This began opening up a brand new world of research for Biblical Scholars, Pastors, Congregation Leaders, Teachers etc. Our printing business purchased our first Mac. It was wonderful. Before long we owned several Macs. At that time few individuals would spend the $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 to own a Mac.  Not only did we spend the money but we purchased software from retailers like Zondervan Books. We were, so to speak, on the cutting edge.

So if you were to go back with me to that time 27 years ago it would be necessary to own several Mac's to do the research. I sat at the company computer in the layout and design room of our printing business, which was about three miles from the Congregation I Pastored.  I began the  study of Jesus last six days on earth by laying out the four Gospels in four columns.  I sat there thinking this is really cool.  It's great to own a computer... Next when the feeling of satisfaction eventually calmed, I began searching for a date in the Gospels leading up to Passover that I could connect with the Torah portion of the Bible, (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus & Deuteronomy).  It had to be a firm clear reliable date that others would be able to see, understand and agree with.

Establishing dates with days was very important so I struggled with this for a while. Why?  We have Christian days associated with the Jewish Celebrations of Passover.  The Jewish calendar is based upon a lunar cycle. Guess what? Christians also follow the lunar calendar to a degree. Christians observe Easter around the same time Jews Observe Passover. I encourage the reader to study this area in a little more depth. So let's acquaint ourselves with how the Biblical calendar / the lunar calendar functions.

Dear Reader this is the second book in the Passover Series. The First was entitled, A Sincere Journey Ends Without JESUS.

In this book we are going to point out many places of disinformation. Some of this disinformation is intentional in my opinion. We are going to explain why the time period around Passover is so confusing. We are going to point out a number of inconsistencies between the Gospel Writers. We will observe that their writings are NOT in harmony.

One of the areas of confusion is in how time is measured in the Christian Writings. There is the traditional measurement of time according to the Hebrew Scriptures and then there is the time introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582/5342 From Creation known as the Gregorian Calendar. The measurement of time in the Christian Writings is according to the Hebrew Scriptures. However today, 432 years from when the Gregorian Calendar originated most individuals know very little about how time is measured according to the Hebrew Scriptures.  Come on... Why would anyone living in the 21 century want to learn how to measure time according to the Hebrew Scriptures? This confusion is complemented by almost three dozen different measurements of time. Yet, originally there was only one measurement of time. This one measurement is still used today. What is the purpose of the other calendars and their measurement of time? CONFUSION! Listen! There are over 730 religions in the world today. Is this progress? These religions have thousands of splinters into additional religions... Why is this so important?

Dear reader we are going to be measuring Jesus last week on earth chronologically. This can only be accurately done using the Hebrew Scripture's method of measurement. As we journey, the time issue will become obvious. One can overcome it but it is a challenge. Ask yourself - Do I want to know the Truth? How valuable is the Truth to me?

In Chapter One we begin with the goal I have for this book. I write, regardless of the conclusion we may each reach after reading The Last Six Days of Jesus Life my desire is that our journey should flow with interesting information and be filled with the richness of Jewish Passover Observances. It will be more authentic for the reader if I can help you to experience the thoughts and the struggles I felt.

We list a few rules this book will follow in the examination of Jesus Last six days on earth. Then I admit that twenty years ago my beliefs were biased in favor of Christianity. That is where I was then. This is where the story begins. Today I have returned to Judaism and try to live an observant life.

Chapter Two is a brief look at Biblical dates and times. They tell us when  the Festival of Passover or the Festival of Unleavened Bread begin. They inform us if the day is Sabbath or a High Holiday.  Sometimes they inform us of the day, the week or the month. We conclude that the Christian Writings were written using the same measurement of time as the Hebrew Scriptures. The changes in the measurement of time came about 1,500 years after the Christian Writings.

Chapter Three discusses the impact of modern technology, i.e. computers on Biblical research.

Chapters Four through Nine discuss the measurement of Biblical Time in eight different categories. We discuss and teach how time is measured by Year, by Month, by Day, by Night, by Hour, by Week, by Holy Days. In addition to this we compare two measurement systems for most of these categories. There is clearly a difference of opinion about how time is measured. I discuss three different theories. There is no way to adequately express in this introduction the importance of the measurement of time in the last six days of Jesus life on earth. This is why I divided each chapter into it's own category. This keeps our thoughts organized and easier to reference back to as one studies. I find it quite unique that the Gospel writers break the last day of Jesus life down into hours. This is quite rare. Yet it is fascinating and assists in establishing important points Christians have difficulty with.

In Chapter Seven we examine the use of the Sabbath Day, i.e. the Seventh Day as an anchor  point to time measurement, time to and from, and as a time reference. Again there are those who argue that the use of the word Sabbath was in reference to Passover. Others teach that the use of the term Sabbath Day was in reference to both Sabbath and Passover. Then there are those that teach the use of Sabbath Day was in reference to the Seventh Day of the week, i.e. Sabbath. We discuss which position is correct and prove with  references as to why it is correct. We dispute the other arguments.

Chapter Eight is another anchor in a chain of days that are established in the Hebrew Scriptures. On the fourteenth day of the month late in the afternoon is when the Passover Lamb is killed. Then a little later at nightfall is the beginning of the Passover Seder Meal. Both of these fall during the Festival of Matzah, i.e. Unleavened Bread. Then there is the Seventh Day of Passover. Dear Reader once we establish a day and a date it is simply a matter of working back and forth. In addition Christians claim Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Sunday. They teach the crowd laid palm branches and garments in his path. They say this was his triumphant entry into the holy city.

In Chapter Nine we speak of Preparation Day as a point of time measurement and reference. Some argue that Preparation Day when used in the Gospels is in reference to Sabbath. Some argue  Preparation Day is in reference to Passover. Others teach  Preparation Day is in reference to both Sabbath and Passover. However once we establish the first day of the week as a day and time anchor, it is not difficult to work back from to prove which position is correct.

Chapter 10 is about John's statement that Jesus last meal was the [last] Supper. John states this was before the Passover Seder Meal. Matthew, Mark and Luke dispute John's position. We examine both positions to determine who is correct. There are some very clear issues with both positions.

Chapter Eleven is a 'Detour' where we take side streets so to speak to determine if John's position is correct. Come on! The Gospel writers say John was one of Jesus disciples for three years. Luke says John was one of those that went to prepare the Passover meal. Yet John says it was not the Passover meal it was a supper before Passover. This is an important date. This is the last meal with Jesus. That night Jesus is taken into custody by guards. The next day he is killed. Or is he? The point is that John should remember when it was. May individuals measure events in time from the death of a loved one. Is it possible John could have confused such an important event? Then we must ask, at that time, was Jesus death an important event?  Maybe, the Catholic Church has made Jesus death an important event.

Chapter Twelve is entitled, More Conflict With John. Why? Most Bibles are 'Red Letter' editions. The red letters are supposed to be the very words Jesus spoke. People that love Jesus cling to his words and to his quotes. Well based on what Jesus says in Matthew, Mark and Luke we have more conflicts with what John says.

Dear Reader, do you see the many angles of the last six days of Jesus life on earth?

Chapter Thirteen is what this book is all about. Chapter Thirteen is the chronological day by day account from the 8th Day of the First Month when Jesus came to Bethany through when Jesus died on the 15th Day of the  First Month.  The time frame is actually a little longer than six days. I include a chronological connection to every day  and night referenced in the Gospels during this time frame. The reader will be able to follow the journey of Jesus from Bethany to the triumphant Entry to Jerusalem to the casting out of the money exchangers to the cursing of the fig tree to the preparation for the final Passover Seder Meal to the death and burial of Jesus to the first Day of the week.

Because I am Jewish and have a strong Christian past I share many helpful points that the non-Jewish world many be unaware of. Even though some Christian readers may be unhappy with points I make, each point is referenced so the reader can determine for her or his self what the truth is. The point of this book was and continues to be, a sincere examination of the last six days of Jesus life on earth. There is a great deal readers may learn from the time applications we discuss in this book. I have spent many years in preparing this book. God Willing another book dealing with controversial issues will follow this book. Originally I intended to included these as part of this book. They are important and interesting but need to be kept separate because they deal with other issues.

Dear ones, it is so easy to get caught up in the emotion of the minute. B'nei Israel just experienced the greatest military victory of their lives. The greatest, most feared army of Egypt had just been annihilated. They watched as the waters came crashing down on horse, chariot and rider. They observed as foot soldier, sergeant and captain drowned in the Yam Suf / the Reed Sea. They saw their once feared tormenters eliminated in an instant, never to bother them again. Under such circumstances it is extremely difficult not to get caught up in the singing and rejoicing. After all, this was a very great victory. This was a powerful deliverance by The Lord.

The same can be said for tragedy. On the morning of 9-11 I was preparing to leave for work when the phone rang. The caller was our son. He stated, "Turn on your television, Avie. The World Trade Center has just been hit by a terrorist plane." I turned on the television and watched. Soon my ride to work arrived at the door. He came in. I asked if he had heard the news. He said, "What news?" I invited him to join me. We sat their stunned as the events of the day unfolded. We decided to not go to work that day. We watched for hours....

Holy reader, it is easy to get caught up in festivities and in tragedies. We must be careful. While we need to rejoice and mourn we must still remain constant in our observance of Torah study. If we allow ourselves to be drawn away or permit ourselves to be attracted to something other than what it is we should be doing, we may be endangering our own existence. This is what happened to B'nei Israel in Parshat Beshalach. This is what can and occasionally may happen to us. We must be careful.

In all the rejoicing, B'nei Israel neglected to study The Torah for three days. Their neglect immediately resulted in the evaporation of their entire water supply. B'nei Israel went for three days without water and without studying The Torah. Their rejoicing almost immediately turned into tragedy. Over three million people were in need of water. The mothers, children and fathers needed water. Millions of sheep and cattle needed water. The vast herds grew weak. Everyone was searching for water. No one could find water. Things were quickly becoming desperate.

The point is being constant in times of rejoicing and tragedy. The point is remaining constant in all types of weather. This is why our Sages instituted the reading of Torah on Shabbat, Monday and Thursday so B'nei Israel would never again go three days without Torah study. You see we became so involved in a good thing... a great deliverance... a great victory... a powerful miracle that we neglected a very important thing, our Torah study.

So even though there are times that by accident or need we are drawn away from our important responsibilities of studying Torah, during each day our sages have placed a guard... a fence... a protection in our path to protect us from the bitter waters. That guard is consistency. It is good to rise at the same time each day. It is good to study at the same time each day. It is good to pray at the same time each day. In other words, it is important to develop a life built on consistency. I refer to this as digging a rut. When a Jew has deep ruts to follow throughout life it is much easier. There is nothing wrong in hugging deep ruts. They keep us consistent. They keep up us in place, God Willing, the right place. What I am saying is that for the observant Jew there is always a place that we are supposed to be and normally that is good. The problem erupts when we get out of our rut. Emergencies, vacations, meetings all have the potential of drawing us away from where we are supposed to be and away from what we should be doing. As an author of parshat studies each week, I must carefully guard my time. Studying, preparation and writing require many hours each week. I spend hours at work each week and driving between home and work. Each day begins with prayer. The night normally concludes with supper before bedtime and prayer. The days are long. The nights are short. Every minute of the day is scheduled in some form.

Dear Reader it does not matter how high one can climb. One can fall just as far. These principles are not for you alone but for me also. They are for all of us. One of the guards or fences the Rabbis strongly encourage is living in a Jewish Community. I did not use the word Orthodox for a purpose. Live next door to Jews. Live across the street from Jews. Live down the block from Jews. I appreciate the wisdom of living in a community. Several of the great mistakes in my life have been living outside the Jewish Community. Choose a community that is large enough to allow for some privacy. Choose a community with choices of many congregations. If it is not possible to live in a community then associate closely with the community. Attend studies, events, social gatherings daily prayer and Sabbath services when possible. Remember the waters of Marah were bitter but Ha Torah is sweet.

Psalms 19.8 - 12

The Torah of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even very fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned; and in keeping of them there is great reward.

If we make the right changes we can avoid a lot of bitterness.

One Sabbath, while camping near Triangle Circle, about 26 miles up in the mountains above New Castle, Colorado, several family members took a hike. It was intended to be a short hike. We could not carry. It did not turn out that way. We refers to this hike as the Nine Mile Hike. We do not know how long it actually was. However, hours later by the time we found our way back to camp we were very thirsty.

I saw this water bottle lying there. I was very thirsty. I picked it up and removed the cap. I began to drink. I rinsed my mouth. After a couple of gulps I spit the rest out. PHEW!! Have you ever opened a plastic water bottle that has been sitting in the sun for a long time? Not only is it hot but it has a horrible taste. I can only imagine what it was like for B'nei Yisroel after traveling three days without water and then to see this wonderful looking oasis with what appeared to be refreshing water. Can you imagine bending down to drink this water? Can you imagine how awful the water tasted. B'nei Yisroel could not drink the water because it was so bitter.

We allowed our good intended walk to take us away from where we need to be. We allowed our walk to place us in a difficult place.

A friend from the Jewish Community stopped by my place of employment. During our brief conversation he asked, "Akiva, what day do you have off?" I responded, "Truthfully, only Shabbat!"

Dear ones, I remember the words of a Teacher who studied with me. He said something to the effect of, 'Akiva, there is never a time for a Jew to let his hair down. We are always suppose to be aware of God's Presence.' A Jew should always be somewhere. That somewhere is planned. That somewhere is prepared. That somewhere is deliberate. Unfortunately, B'nei Israel allowed themselves to be drawn out of that consistent cycle that my teacher spoke of. We must guard our constancy. May The Lord bless us with being great rut huggers!

We must be careful to fill our cups with The Torah several times a week. We must stay true to our agreements. Our actions God Willing will keep our water delightful...

Deuteronomy 6.12

Beware lest you forget The Lord, who Brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery.

Pharaoh was steeped in hard denial. Not only was he unwilling to acknowledge his sin of oppressing B'nei Israel, he increased the level of oppression. Pharaoh also denied the existence of God.

Throughout this parshat we are constantly reminded that Pharaoh's heart was hard, that his heart remained set in preventing B'nei Israel from worshipping The Lord! His denial was a public denial! It was a sin against The Lord and against His people. B'nei Israel!

He ordered his officers to afflict B'nei Israel! At each turn in the course of events, The Lord Tells Moses to remind Pharaoh and the people of Egypt.

'...that I am The Lord...' Exodus 7:5

'By this you will know that I am The Lord...' Exodus 7:17

'...You will know that there is none like The Lord, our G-d..' Exodus 8:6

'...You will know that I am The Lord in the midst of the earth...' Exodus 8:18

'This is what The Lord The God of the Hebrews has said...' Exodus 9:1

'...so that you may KNOW that there is none like Me in all the earth.'  Exodus 9:14

'...so that My Name will be declared throughout the earth.' Exodus 9:16

Long before this point, the end of the fifth plague, Pharaoh knew! Yet, he continued in his ways of sinful disobedience of The Lord's Commands. There are those who know what The Lord has Commanded yet in outright denial they continue in their pattern of sin. Their conclusion will be like that of Pharaoh and Egypt. They will cross the line as Pharaoh did. Pharaoh reached a place where he was no longer was able to control his own heart... his thoughts... his actions... The Torah tells us that God took control of them. God hardened his heart!  When Pharaoh had a choice he chose to oppress B'nei Israel. He chose to continue in his pattern of disobedience. He chose to continue his denial of The Lord. He crossed the line that no one should cross. He could not return. This is the danger of the one hardened in denial of The Lord and His Commands!!

Holy reader, a staff member at JewishPath posed this question: Can't a Jew return from wherever they are, from however far they have fallen? Isn't the Jewish light an eternal light? Well, the answer is Yes and No! Yes in the sense that it is possible. Yes in the sense that The Lord can draw anyone to him. However in the practical sense, No! Don't be fooled! When a tree is young it is flexible but when it is old the flexibility is gone. If it bends too much it will break. This should serve as a caution to us not to live on the outer perimeters of Judaism where God forbid, one's lifestyle may prevent one from repentance...

One may think that eventually they may change their mind, BUT that is not necessarily true.  Those like Pharaoh, who cross the line, or those who live on the outer perimeters may go to far. It is a very scary, dangerous place to dangle with one's life! I don't like this type of teeter.

When I was a child my Father, may he rest in peace, would give an illustration to the children at youth camp. He had a bundle of sticks that were smooth and dried out. He picked these sticks up along a beach in the San Francisco Area. He also had several freshly cut Aspen branches. Daddy showed the children how flexible the young Aspen branches were.  He would bend them in every direction with out breaking a branch. He show how stiff and how unforgiving the smooth dried sticks, he found along the ocean were. He could not bend them at all. Daddy made the comparison.  Daddy explained that when we are young we can go in many directions.  Then he taught, when we are older, we will be hardened. We will not be able to go in many directions.  He explained that now was the time to let God shape our lives. Then, again reminding us many years later it would be difficult, and possible impossible, because we would be to set in out ways.

Ecclesiastes 7.13

Consider the work of God; for who can make that straight, what He Has Made crooked?

Each of us should remember The Lord Who delivered us from Egypt and be careful to walk in His ways...

Exodus 6.3

And He, God Spoke to Moses, And He Said to him, I am The Lord.

Exodus 6.4

And [ I ] Appeared to Abraham, to Jacob and to Issac as God Almighty and not by My Name The Lord. [I] did not reveal to them.

The Word נוֹדַעְתִּי Noh Dah Tee means 'reveal'. The Gematria of נוֹדַעְתִּי Noh Dah Tee is 540

A revelation from God is very special. We must carefully guard revelations. We have to be careful not to loose what we have. We have to be careful to keep the rust off the revelations the Creator Gives us. His revelations are precious to us. My Rabbi once spoke to me. He said, 'Akiva, do you know how fortunate you are? You have heard the Voice of God at least four times. I have never heard the Voice of God. I envy you!! You are truly Blessed!' He is right!

Dear Reader the Torah portion of the Bible was given to Moses by the Voice of God. The Torah is a revelation of God! No other Book of the Bible was spoken to the Writer Word for Word. In this chapter we are going to review how God [singular] Spoke these Words.

The Name אֱלֹהִים El Loh Heem is plural. אֱלֹהִים means gods when it is not used in reference to God as Judge or Creator. Even though the Name אֱלֹהִים El Loh Heem is plural אֱלֹהִים El Loh Heem is ALWAYS used as singular when reference is made to God as Creator. Why? אֱלֹהִים El Loh Heem our Creator is One. The Name אֱלֹהִים is singular in Exodus 6,3. The Name אֱלֹהִים is always used with the singular intent when used in reference to God.

New leaders bring changes. Departing leaders bring changes. With the departing of Yoseif / Joseph we see ingathering.  With the new king we see commanding you...

In our world today we need ingathering that Yoseif brought. Yoseif brought families, peoples and nations together.  Yoseif was concerned for all of The Lord's Creation. Notice the Final Letters of Yoseif and Haw Aw Seef.  Both Words end in the Letter ף Final Pey.  The Final Pey looks like a shepherd's staff.  In our world we need people who care about others.  We need the right type of leadership in every facet of life.  We need leaders who draw people together.  Our world is hurting for the right type of leadership. We see this in the Gematria 156. There are different types of people in leadership positions.   One ף Final Pey the Verse the other concludes it.

Genesis 50.19 - 21

'Joseph said to them, Fear not; for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it to be good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore do not fear; I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spoke kindly to them...'

Many years ago as a staff member for a Jewish school  I observed such an act.  We were having the dedication for  a new building. Great Rabbis were invited to participate from all around the country. The school was across the street from a major Hospital.

One afternoon during our celebration a young man came in the front door of the school heading right into the sanctuary where he sat down, bowed his head and remained quiet. He was from hundreds of miles away.  I noticed him.  One of the Rabbi's also noticed him.  The Rabbi walked over to me, leaned over and whispered into my ear something like, What does this young man need?

My reply was, I don't know

He immediately motioned for his assistance to go speak with the young man. Then he whispered another sentence in my ear, 'We should find out what he needs.'  This is what one expects of a great Rabbi.   He was a Yoseif type leader.

We learned, the young man was Jewish.  He lived in a small town hundreds of miles away.  His wife was in the hospital having surgery. That Rabbi saw to it that this young mans needs were attended to.

We need rulers who care about people as this Rabbi did. The man was dressed in blue jeans. He was not wearing a kippah or tzitzit. So What! The keen sensitiveness of this great Rabbi has stuck with me.

The world tdol]woT] {Toh Lih Dot} meaning 'generations' speaks to each of us. The Gematria is 840. The Torah Says, These are the generations of Noah, Shem, Ham and Japhet. How does the generations of Ham speak to us? How does the generations of Japhet speak to us? The fact is that The Torah for the most part follows the generations of Shem. It is the generations of Shem that speak to us. The generations of Ham and Japhet are mentioned here through Chapter 11. At the conclusion of Chapter 11 Avram and Sarai are introduced. So it is important to understand that The Torah for the most part covers the descendants of Shem. It is Shem that is the chosen.

Why then does The Torah Say these are the descendants of Noah if for the most part only the descendants of Shem are discussed? The Torah focuses on the hope for humankind. The Torah is clearly Saying the hope for humankind comes through the descendants of Shem.

In Leviticus 1.2 we see a similar approach. The Torah Records,

laer...c]yI ynEB]Ala, rBeDæ {Dah Bayr - Ehl Bih Nay - Yees Raw Ayl} meaning Speak to [the] children of Israel. Why is this passage similar? The Gematria is also 840. Leviticus focuses on offerings. There is Israel, Levites and Priests. The function of the Priests is offerings and blessings etc. It is the Kohan (Priest) that is the chosen.

Spiritual sensitivity is important in each of our lives. This sensitivity is especially noted in in the food we eat. What foods do we eat? How is the food prepared? During the first 1,657 years humans were vegetarians. Meat, poultry and fish were not part of our diet. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, roots and grasses were our diet. Humans cared for livestock to enjoy cream, milk, cheese and eggs. People lived hundreds of years. People did not age. Yet, when our spirituality should have been at the highest peek it was the worst time on earth. Humankind were extremely sinful. After this generation perished in the Noah Flood The Lord God permitted humans to eat meet, poultry and fish with certain exceptions. There are clean animals, birds, fish and crawling things and there are unclean animals, birds, fish and crawling things.

Genesis 7.2 - 3

Of every clean beast you shall take to you seven pairs, the male and his female; and of beasts that are not clean one pair, the male and his female. 3  Of birds also of the air by seven pairs, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

From these Instructions we can see things were about to change. Before the flood humans and animals had a relationship of harmony. After the flood this relationship changed when The Lord God permitted humans to consume meet, poultry and fish life. Now animals could be killed and eaten. The animals that were killed and eaten were clean animals.

Genesis 9.2 - 3

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; to your hand are they delivered. 3  Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

Genesis 9.5 - 6

And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God he made man.

Our Creator Instructs Noah and his sons not to consume blood.

Genesis 9.

But flesh with its life, which is its blood, you shall not eat.

Last week when we discussed the Raven and the Dove I mentioned that martial relations were suspended while on the ark.

Genesis 7.5 - 7

And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

Genesis 8.16

Go out from the ark, you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons' wives with you.

We know who went into the Ark so why did our Creator Say to Noah  you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons' wives? Our Sages Teach the purpose is to show marital relations on the Ark were interdicted. After leaving the Ark God Blessed Noach and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, Genesis 9.1... Cohabitation had been forbidden, Sanhedrin - Notes 108b.

Genesis 9.1

God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

Genesis 9.7

And you, be fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply in it.

Genesis 8.7

And he sent forth everything from aleph to Tav of 'the raven', which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

The Sages Teach three sinned by copulating on the Tava the Raven, The Dog and Chum. Noach was dis satisfied with the Rave so he sent hime out. The Raven is an unclean bird. His mate was left to fend for the little ones... The Raven complained, What will happen if I die? Who will care for my mate and the little ones. How will the world be repopulated with us?

What does all this Gematria concerning the Raven mean?  The Raven who is the most intelligent of  species aside from humans who is black sinned at night by copulating. We see the Raven's sin in the Gematria 277. The Raven 277 gave seed 277 and the Raven sinned 277.

The Raven and Crow are called by the same name.

ה5 י10 ו6 נ50 ה5 = 76

עֶבֶד

Eh Vehd, meaning Servant

ע70 ב2 ד4 = 76

The dove is humble and willing to serve where as the Raven is a predator. The Dove is the symbol of the Spirit of purity and serving. The Raven is the symbol of darkness and sin. The Raven has the potential to help as when the Ravens fed the great Novie Prophet bread. The point to this discussion is the Raven was put out because of his sin. The Dove was asked to serve because of his willingness to purify. The Dove circled the Tava. The Doves action represent the world was purified from sin. The Dove returned with an Olive twig. This is a symbol of Holiness and purity and peace. The flood was the purification. The Raven was sent out first. This is like the night is black with sin. Later the Dove was sent out. This is like the world is cleansed, i.e. purified and has again retuned to spirituality.

Genesis 31.1-3

And he heard everything from Aleph to Tav of the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob has taken away everything from Aleph to Tav of all that was our father's; and from that which was our father's has he gotten everything from Aleph to Tav of all this, the honor. And Jacob saw everything from Aleph to Tav of Laban's face, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. 3  And The Lord Said to Jacob, Return to the land of your fathers, and to your family; and I Will be with you.

Jacob actually heard Words. The Lord God can speak to you in a crowd of people and you maybe the only one to Hear His Voice and Words. On the other Hand Everyone present may hear His Voice and Words. A few select individuals may be included. However here only Jacob heard The Words of The Lord God. How do we know this? Ha Torah Says, And The Lord Said to Jacob.

One may wonder, how often does The Lord God Speak to humankind? Would you be surprised to learn that from Creation up until this conversation The Lord God is recorded as Having Spoke with only 13 humans? This is only the 36th conversation from creation until Genesis 31.3.

The Gematria of  וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָֹה אֶל־יַעֲקֹב Vah Yoh Mehr - HaShem Ehl Yaakov - Meaning And The Lord Said to Jacob. The Gematria of these four Words is 496. We can Mystically Observe that within The Lord God's Words is His Kingdom. Let's say it like this. Everything in the world and in the universe outside of The Lord God is constructed by The Word of The Lord God. Everything that exists exists because of the Power of His Word. I share this so that we may realize the ultimate power of The Lord God's Word. It is God's Word that holds every kingdom together...

The Words the ten phrases that The Lord God Spoke have maintained this universe from the beginning. Think of the power within These Words The Lord God. Think of the keeping power... Think of maintaining power of The Lord God's Words...

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָֹה אֶל־יַעֲקֹב

And The Lord Said to Jacob

מַלְכֻתוֹ

Mah Lih Choo Toh

Kingdom

מ40 ל30 צ20 ת400 ו6 = 496

We should think of The Lord's Kingdom with the same reflection. Ever since The Lord God Created everything from Aleph to Tav of the Heavens and everything from Aleph to Tav of the earth they were completed. Nothing remains to be completed. Nothing more remains to be done. This is the power of The Lord God's Word... So now we think about what it means for the Lord God to Speak to one of us as He did with Jacob. We reflect on that contact with The Lord God. Can we imagine the impact? Can we imagine the reslut of having Contact with The Lord God?

What's In A Name? What's In A Word?

Bnai Elohim / Sons of God

In our textbook we discus The Lord God and the angels Shamchazzi and Azael discussing man.  Angels are required to do exactly as the Creator Wishes. On the other hand, humankind has free will and chooses either to do the Wishes of the Lord God or to do something else. Shamchazzi and Azael were saying how easy it was for humankind. They wanted to prove they could live as humans and not sin... At their request the Lord God Granted that they  could have Free Will and that they could live on earth with humankind. In the Gematria for this chapter we Observe how they failed...

Psalms 8.5 - 7

What is man, that you are mindful of him? And the son of man, that you visit him?  For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor.   You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet;

First the descendants of Ha Adam, i.e. the children of Adam and Eve did evil. They sexually profaned.

Second, the sons of God, i.e.  the angels Shamchazzi and Azael took human wives and and sinned with them. They mixed angelic seed with human seed. Strange children were born. And in so doing they brought destruction upon the entire earth.

Showing Respect

Question:

Rodrigo Ferreira Reis asked the following: Hi. I was watching your videos and i realize that you call Jesus Rabbi. Why do you call him Rabbi?

Shalom and Todah.

Laila Tov

Christians With QuestionsDear Ones,

First this is a position that I have just recently come to terms with. I use to call Rabbi Jesus by his first name as many do in the Christian Writings. However, I have repented of my error. And am working on changing my behavior. Even though I am not a Christian or a follow of Rabbi Jesus this does not permit me to show disrespect. The Christian Writings teach that Rabbi Jesus was a Rabbi. He was a Rabbi Of Israel. So even though I do not believe Rabbi Jesus is the Messiah or the son of God or God it is not proper for me to be disrespectful.

King David Wrote:

2 Samuel 1.1 - 19

1  And it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had stayed two days in Ziklag; 2  It came to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came from the camp from Saul with his clothes torn and earth upon his head; and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and bowed down. 3  And David said to him, From where do you come? And he said to him, From the camp of Israel have I escaped. 4  And David said to him, How went the matter? I beg you, tell me. And he answered, The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people also have fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also. 5  And David said to the young man who told him, How do you know that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead? 6  And the young man who told him said, As I happened by chance upon Mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, behold, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him. 7  And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called me. And I answered, Here am I. 8  (K) And he said to me, Who are you? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite. 9  And he said to me, Stand, I beg you, upon me, and slay me; for agony has come upon me, and yet I still have life in me. 10  So I stood beside him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after he was fallen; and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my lord. 11  Then David took hold of his clothes, and tore them; and likewise all the men who were with him; 12  And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until the evening, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the Lord, and for the house of Israel; because they had fallen by the sword. 13  And David said to the young man who told him, Where are you from? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite. 14  And David said to him, How were you not afraid to stretch forth your hand to destroy the Lord's anointed? 15  And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he struck him that he died. 16  And David said to him, Your blood be upon your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have killed the Lord's anointed. 17  And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son; 18  And he said To teach the sons of Judah the use of the bow; behold, it is written in the book of Jasher. 19  The beauty, O Israel, is slain upon your high places; how are the mighty fallen!.

I followed the path of disrespect in part because of how The Christian Writings make reference to Rabbi Jesus. Yet, regardless of what Christians do in their writings this does not free me from doing what I believe to be right. Now here is what I find most amazing. Christians call Rabbi Jesus by his first name even though they believe his name is highly exalted above every name in the world. Christians call Rabbi Jesus by his first name even though they believe he is the Messiah which means 'Anointed' [of The Lord.] Christians call Rabbi Jesus by his first name even though they believe believe Rabbi Jesus is the son of The Lord God. Christians call Rabbi Jesus by his first name even though they believe Rabbi Jesus is God. Now I do not believe any of these claims yet I do believe in respect.

There is no excuse to be disrespectful.

What is A Morsel Of Bread?

Bereisheit 18.4, 5

Genesis 18.4, 5

Please! Let me take a little water and wash your feet while you rest beneath the Tree.

And I will take take [for you] A Morsel of bread to sustain your hearts. Afterwards, continue on. However, this is the reason you passed by your  servant. They answered [in unison] Yes! Make like as you said.

This reason? What is for this reason?

The Angels had a reason to stop and to visit with Avraham. The Hebrew Scriptures Say,

Isaiah 52.7

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces peace; who brings good news of good, who announces salvation; who says to Zion, Your God Reigns!

Michael announced Sarah's conception. Raphael brought healing for Avraham. Gabriel salvation for Lot His Wife and children. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 628

Were these the only reasons? Rav Chama bar Chanina said, It was the third day since Avram's Brit Melah. It was on the third day our Creator paid a sick call to Avraham. Rabbi Avrohom Davis, The Mesudah Chumash A New Linear Translation Bereishis (Hoboken New Jersey, KTVA Publishing House, Inc., 1991) p 172 Is it possible that on the day of Avraham's brit milah that our Creator dispatched the three angels? Perhaps! Is it possible the three Angels were traveling for three days? Perhaps! I don't know! Yet, we know years later B'nei Yisroel would travel three days without Water, Exodus 15.22.   And we know that Water is like Ha Torah. It is from this portion of Ha Torah that we learn we cannot go beyond three days without sharing Ha Torah. Is it possible the Angels stop to give and receive Words of Ha Torah? Yes! How do we know this? The Gematria of  וְרַחֲצוּ רַגְלֵיכֶם

meaning, to take a little water and wash your feet is 613. And we know the Mitzvot of Ha Torah are 613.

וְרַחֲצוּ רַגְלֵיכֶם

[to take a little water] and wash your feet

ו6 ר200 ח8 צ90 ו6 = 310

ר200 ג3 ל30 י10 כ20 ם40 = 303

613 = 310 + 303

We also know that the Gematria of

פַת־לֶחֶם meaning A morsel of Bread is the Gematria of 558. What did our Creator Say about Bread?

Deuteronomy 8.3

And he humbled you, and let you hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord does man live.

פַת־לֶחֶם

Paht Leh Chehm / A morsel of Bread

פ80 ת400   ל30 ח8 ם40 = 558

וּמִצְוֹתָיו

Oov Meezt Vooh Tawv

and [all] His Commandments

ו6 מ40 צ90 ו6 ת400 י10 ו6 = 558

We Observe that the Gematria of וּמִצְוֹתָיו Oov Meezt Vooh Tawv meaning and [all] His Commandments is 558. Mystically this is reference to a morsel of bread. So by this we understand Mystically  water is like Torah and the Commandments of our Creator, like a morsel of bread.

Ezekiel 12 Says, '... Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and with anxiety....'

Exodus 1.8 informs us that a new king came into power who did no know Yoseif. In other Words he did not eat the Bread of Mitzvots / Commandments nor drink the Water of Ha Torah... This is what Yoseif did...

Shemot 1.8

וַיָּקָם מֶלֶךְ־חָדָשׁ עַל־מִצְרָיִם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדַע אֶת־יוֹסֵף:  ט

Exodus 1.8

And there arose up a new king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph.

וַיָּקָם מֶלֶךְ־חָדָשׁ

And there arose up a new king

ו6 י10 ק100 ם40 = 156

מ40 ל30 ך20   ח8 ד4 ש300 = 402

558 = 156 + 402
