Time & Gematria: A Time of Justice And Security

At The End of Days

Dear Ones,

In the previous Chapter, we discussed A Time of Rebellion at The End of Days. Parshat Vayeilech concludes with The Words:

Deuteronomy 31.27 - 30

For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck; behold, while I am still alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death! Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them. For I know that after my death you will completely corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way that I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. And Moses spoke in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this poem until they were ended.

We are informed in Ha'azinu that The People of Israel will be judged for their rebellion.

Devarim 32.36

Deuteronomy 32.36

For The Lord Shall Render Justice for His People, and later He will [out of Kindness] Reconsider his servants, when He Sees the power of [their enemies] surging, and none are structured or fortified.

Notice the Second Word  יָדִין Yaw Deen meaning Judgment or Justice. The root Word is  דִין Deen meaning to Judge. However, we notice that an extra Letter is added to the beginning of The Word  דִין Deen. The Letter י Yod is added to The Word דִין Deen. Why is this? What is the purpose for adding The Letter י Yod?

The Letter י Yod is One of The Letters in The Holy Name of The Lord. Adding The Letter י Yod brings strength to an already strong Word. The Letter י Yod adds both strength and harmony. Rabbi Michael Munk The Wisdom In The Hebrew Alphabet Mesorah Publications, Brooklyn, N.Y. 1990), p. 131.  The Letter י Yod is the smallest of all The Hebrew Aleph Bet.  The Yod is small like a dot. The Letter י Yod represents the power of creating. The Talmud Relates that The Lord Used The Letters of His Name Yaw י ה to Create this world and the World to come. 'This world was created with The Letter ה Hey and the future world was created with The Letter י Yod.'

The left leg of The Letter ה Hey is suspended. The left leg is not connected to the rest of The Letter. Notice the opening at the Top of The Letter ה Hey. The opening is an entrance for those desiring to repent. When we sin... When we rebel, it is like we leave the path. The opening in the Letter ה Hey allows us to rejoin The Path. Menachos 29b

Notice The Letter Yod appears Twice Within the First Seven Words of The Torah. The Yod appears in The Word בְּרֵאשִׁית 'In the beginning and The Word הַשָּׁמַיִם The Heavens.' The Yod also appears in The Word צַדִּיק Righteous. We see a common thread. It takes strength to be a righteous person. We are taught that our world exists because of the Lamed-Vav Tzadikim, i.e. Thirty-Six Righteous. Abaye Said: 'The world must contain not less than Thirty-Six Righteous men in each generation who are granted sight of The Shechinah's Countenance. Isaiah Wrote, 'Blessed are all they that לוֹ 'wait' for him. The numerical value of לוֹ 'loh / wait' is Thirty-Six. Sanhedrin 97b and Sukkah 45b.

Bereisheit 1.1

בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ:  ב

We see the י Yod being connected to The Lord, to creating, to The Heavens and to The Righteous. The Heavens are where the Righteous go to reside. It is for this reason the future world was created with the Letter י Yod? It is because there are only a few righteous men in the world to come.

As noted before The Word  דִין Deen has a Second י Yod added for a purpose. The Second י Yod represents extra strength, extra emphasis in Justice and Righteousness. David informs us that 'The Judgments of The Lord are True and Righteous altogether,' Psalms 19.10.

Deuteronomy 32 informs us that the Lord Shall Render Justice for His People. Later, because of His Lovingkindness He will Reconsider His servants, when He Sees the power of [their enemies] surging, and none [of The People of Israel] is structured or fortified. It is then, at The End of Days The Lord God will bring Justice for The Land of Israel and The People of Israel. This is why there is a Second Yod. Justice must be balanced. On Rosh HaShanah, The Lord issues his Judgment. On Yom Kippur, He shows benevolence to His Servants.

Deuteronomy 32.15 - 26 Speaks of the many failings of The People of Israel. We have a long history of failing The Lord. Each Yom Kippur we keep coming to The Lord with our failings without improving. Our insincere repentance becomes old. We are going through the motions. There is a short period where The Lord God of Israel turns His Face away from His People. This Yud of Justice is represented by The Yud in  דִין Deen. Between Rosh Ha Shanah and Yom Kippur are Ten Days. The Letter Yud is the Gematria of Ten. Moshiach Ben Yoseif comes to lead the armies of Israel. He is defeated and killed. All hope seems gone for The People of Israel. However on Yom Kippur Moshiach Ben David comes after The Lord Brings Justice on the enemies of His People and The Land of Israel.

Deuteronomy 32.27 begins a Second Yud of Justice.

Our Sages Teach that the Nations of the world plan to exceed reasonable punishment for The People of Israel. The Leaders of these countries will claim they successfully wiped Israel off the face of the earth. The Lord God Will not permit this. The enemy nations will not understand why One from the Army of Israel can no longer pursue a Thousand or why Two from the Army of Israel can no longer pursue and defeat Ten Thousand. They will claim Israel's ruin was do to their strength. If the pursuit were changed, and One Thousand from the Army of Israel were to flee before One of their  enemies, and Ten Thousand of the Army of Israel were to flee before two of their enemies, the conquering nations would not understand! Their success would ONLY do to The Lord God turning away from His People. The enemy nations would not acknowledge God's Hand in their victory. The enemy nations would take all the credit for defeating the armies of Israel. Moses Prophesies, The Lord God Will not permit this to happen. Rabbi Menachem M. Scheerson, Torah Chumash Shemot Kehot Publication Society (Brooklyn, NY 2006) pp 199 - 207

The Prophet Ezekiel 39 Speaks of The Lord's Judgment and destruction of the enemy nations. Seven months will be required to bury all the dead. Seven Years will be required to burn all the weapons.

Ezekiel 39.21 - 29

And I will set My Glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see My Judgment that I Have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.  And The House of Israel shall know that I am The Lord their God from that Day forward. And the nations shall know that The House of Israel went into exile for their iniquity; because they dealt treacherously against me. Therefore, I Hid My Face from them and Gave them to the hand of their enemies; so they all fell by the sword. According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done to them, and I Hid My Face from them. Therefore, Thus Says The Lord God: 'Now will I bring back the exile of Jacob, and Have Mercy upon the entire House of Israel, and Will Be Zealous for My Holy Name. They shall forget their shame, and all their faithlessness in which they have faithless to Me when they dwelt securely in their land, and none made them afraid. After I Have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and Am Sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; Then shall they know that I Am The Lord their God, Who Caused them to be led into exile among the nations; but I Have Gathered them to their land and have left there none of them any more. And I Will Not Hide My Face any more from them; for I Have Poured Out My Spirit Upon The House of Israel, Says The Lord God.

The prophecy in Joel 4.10 - 21 bares witness of what is to come. In the Christian Bible see Joel 3.10 - 21. Mystically within the Word יָדִין  we Observe a Time of appointment with the Word  יָסַד Yaw Sahd meaning Appoint or Set up. That Time of appointment is when The power of the enemies of Israel begins surging with the intent to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and to annihilate all The People of Israel, God Forbid!! We see the formations for this surging beginning to take shape today, 5776 From Creation,  with Iran and the nations of the world. America is giving money to Iran. What is the purpose for giving money to Iran? The structure and fortification America offered Israel seems to be evaporating!! What is happening here?

יָדִין

Yaw Deen / To Judge - Justice

י10  ד4  י10  ן50 = 74

יָסַד

Yaw Sahd / Appoint - Set up

י10  ס60 מ ד4  = 74

עֵד

Ayd / Witness

ע70 ד4 = 74

Deuteronomy 32.43

Rejoice, O you nations, with his people; for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will make expiation for the land of his people.

Moses prophesies that the Nations will rejoice with Israel after The Lord Renders Justice to the offending countries. This Justice is representative of the Second Yod. The Second Yud represents the Time The Lord Renders Judgment against the offending nations. The World will עֵד witness what The Lord Does to the Nations. And the Nations will join Israel in praising The Lord for His Glorious Works. Moshiach Ben David begins his rule.

The Prophet Isaiah speaks of this time of rejoicing.

Isaiah 2.1 - 5

The Word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it will happen in the End of Days, that the mountain of the Temple of The Lord shall be firmly established as the head of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. And many peoples shall go and say, 'Come, and let us go up to The Mountain of The Lord, to The Temple of the God of Jacob; and [Moshiach] will Teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths; for from Zion shall The Torah come forth, and The Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.' And [Moshiach] Shall Judge among the nations, and settle arguments of many people. They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they study warfare any more.

Dear Ones the subjects of Jewish exile and return, destruction and exultation, major war defeat and victory and Moshiach establishing peace throughout the world are difficult to understand. I don't pretend to be an expert on The End of Days. No one is. We see little bits and pieces that seem to make sense at the time then it changes. I have offered my opinion based upon what I see.

I see the war beginning after The Judgment on Rosh HaShanah. The Lord Hides His Face from The People of Israel. War begins. This is at the conclusion of a Shmittah Year. It appears like we, The People of Israel are going to be annihilated. After Yom Kippur The Lord Bring Justice on the enemy nations. Moshiach kingdom begins ruling from Jerusalem. The Third Holy Temple is Established. The People of Israel that were scattered by The Lord God are now Gathered back to Israel by Him.

Some who are living today may see the Great Hand of The Lord in the events discussed in this chapter. We are close to the Time know as The End of Days.

Jeremiah 9.22 - 23

Thus Says The Lord, 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, nor let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I Am The Lord Who Exercises Lovingkindness, Justice, and Righteousness, in the earth; for in these things I Delight, Says The Lord.'

So even though we desire to know The End of Days we should even more so desire to understand and know The Lord.

In this Weeks Parshat, our Teacher Moses shares about rebellion. How serious is the rebellion among the People of Israel, among us today?

Deuteronomy 21.27

Moses Said, 'For I know everything from Aleph to Tav of 'Meh Rih Yih Caw' your rebelliousness and your stiff neck. Behold! While I am still alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death!'

כִּי אָנֹכִי יָדַעְתִּי אֶת־מֶרְיְךָ

'For I know everything from Aleph to Tav of Meh Rih Yih Caw'

your rebelliousness. . .' Who is Moses speaking of? Is he speaking of The People of Israel? Is he speaking of us?

מֶרְיְךָ

'Meh Rih Yih Caw' means 'your rebellion'.

מ40 ר200 י10 ך20 = 270

The Gematria of מֶרְיְךָ Meh Rih Yih Caw' your rebelliousness is 270. What does this represent?

Dear Friends, we are among The Ten Days of Repentance. We should be examining ourselves. We should be considering every possibility of sin. What did the Lord Say about the Generation that was destroyed in the flood?

Bereisheit 6.5

Genesis 6.5

And God Saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

רַע כָּל־הַיּוֹם Evil All the Day. רַע Rah means evil. The Gematria of Rah is also 270.

רַע

Rah / Evil

ר200 ט70 = 270

Dear Friends the issue with many of us is we were raised in life styles where Torah Observance was not prevalent. Our lives were not filled with Words of The Torah. Our lives were not surrounded by Torah living. Unfortunately, for many of us the abnormal is maybe be common for us. What is the abnormal?

As I share what should be abnormal for us it is with a caveat; I was also raised estranged to The 613 Observances of The Torah. I staired at looking women. I used awful language. I drank to excess and beyond. My attitude was one of, 'My way or the highway.' I was rugged and crude and much more. At that time, the Observances of The Torah were strange to me. My choice of clothing was outrageous. I did not dress as a man with virtue. My choice of clothing was not moral. I did not dress like an individual with high moral standards.

Today, decades later my past life has slowly become strange.

Many of us are somewhere in-between how I use to live and how I now live.

What is the point? Some us need to back up a little. We should consider if we are estranged to The Torah as I was. The Word נֵכָר Nah Cawr means 'Strange'. The Gematria for נֵכָר Nah Cawr is 270.

נֵכָר

Nah Cawr / Strange

נ50 כ20 ר200 = 270

The point is this. Perhaps we are estranged to The Observances of The Torah because of how we were raised before we began our return to The Lord / HaShem. Are we rebellious? Maybe! Do we guard how we speak? Is our choice of clothing modest? How do we conduct our lives? What does guarding the Sabbath mean to us? Does guarding The Sabbath have meaning for us?

Dear ones we are in the midst of the Ten Days of Repentance for the Year 5776 From Creation. So studying Vayeilech is appropriate. Why is studying Vayeilech appropriate? Moses speaks to us, The People of Israel as a Prophet. That very day he perceived rebellion among the hearts of The People of Israel. Moses was speaking to each of us. What Moses said might be difficult to except. Yet, we know Moses had the clearest perception of any prophet. We know Moses was right still it is difficult to accept. What is rebellion?

Rebelliousness - showing a desire to resist authority, control, or convention:

Disobedience - failure or refusal to obey rules or someone in authority:

Mutiny - an open rebellion against the proper authorities,

Insurgence - rising in active revolt:

Insubordination - defiance of authority; refusal to obey orders

Verse Twenty-Seven causes me a great deal of concern. I am troubled! In Chapter Eight we discussed the end of times. In this Parshat, we are knocking on the door again. Verse Twenty-Nine Discusses our Spiritual condition at The End of Days.

Moses Said, Evil will befall you at The End of Days?

Deuteronomy 31.29

For I know that after my death you will completely corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way that I have commanded you; and evil will befall you at the End of Days because you will do evil in the sight of The Lord, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands.

Are we living in this Time? Perhaps. Are some of us are provoking The Lord? Has HaShem Turned away from us. Should we be asking, 'How long Ooh Lord Will You Turn away from your people?'

Dear Ones, within this week's Parshat there are Thirteen usages of The Word הַיּוֹם 'This Day'.  I would like to highlight several of the usages of The Word הַיּוֹם 'This day'.

Deuteronomy 29.9

Moses Said to The People of Israel, 'You are standing up This day, all of you before The Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, Your little ones, your wives, and your stranger who is in your camp, from the hewer of your wood to the drawer of your water; so that [each of] you should enter into Covenant with The Lord your God, and into His oath, which the Lord your God Makes with you This Day.'

This Day was the Day The People of Israel were Standing before The Presence of The Lord God and His Representative, Moses, their Teacher.  The Word נִצָּבִים Nee Tzaw Veem means to stand up also to stand up for a principle. The Torah is Sharing more than a principle. The Torah Is informing us that the people of Israel were actively engaged. They stood for the principles the observances of the Torah. What we read goes beyond just standing up.   נִצָּבִים Nee Tzaw Veem at this time and place means enthusiastically standing up, enthusiastically participating and enthusiastically engaging.

נִצָּבִים Nee Tzaw Veem Is more than mental assent. צָּבִים Nee Tzaw Veem is more than agreeing with what The Torah Says.  צָּבִים Nee Tzaw Veem describes our 100% commitment our 100% firm engagement our 100% enthusiasm for The Words of The Torah, The Mitzvot, and The Covenant. At that time, The People of Israel displayed a distinct sharpness like a soldier who has intensely agonized over his preparation for dress inspection. He stands out. He looks sharp and crisp Among other soldiers. This is what The People of Israel were like among the nations of the world at that time. Mystically we were in a place and time.

נִצָּבִים

Nee Tzaw Veem

To enthusiastically stand up for a principal

נ50 צ90 ב2 י10 ם40 = 192

וּמָקוֹם

Voo Mah Kohm

And [being in a certain] place

ו6 מ40 ק100 ו6 ם40 = 192

בַּפַּעַם

ּBah Pah Ahm

[Being] In a specific time

ב2 פ80 ע70 ם40 = 192

Later in our discussion we will read in Ezekiel 38 how The Lord collects His People. The root Word for מְקֻבֶּצֶת Mih Qu Beh Tzet meaning to gather is קבץ. The Gematria for קבץ is 192.

מְקֻבֶּצֶת

קַבֵּץ Kah Baytz / To Gather - To Collect

ק100 ב2 ץ90 = 192

Mystically we make this link where we, The People of Israel were before The Lord God in a specific place at a specific time appearing distinct and sharp as we stood up enthusiastically stood up for The Torah, The Mitzvot, and The Covenant.

Where are we today?  We move a little further into our Parshat To another day and time When our heart turned away from the Lord God, When we served the gods of other nations, when the words of The Curse came upon us, when we were stubbornly drunk with our business and our self-importance,When we are scattered among the nations,When our land is desolate and when all things punishments have come upon us we will come back to our Spiritual senses We will return to the Lord and enthusiastically stand up again for The Torah, The Mitzvot, and The Covenant. At that Place and at that time we will obey all that the Lord Commanded us On 'This Day' that Moses Spoke to us.

This is about The End of Days That our Father Jacob spoke of in Genesis 49.1

Beresheit 49.1

Genesis 49.1

And Jacob called to his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you at the End of Days.

Do we understand what Jacob spoke of when He used the term End of Days?    Please notice the date September 9, 2015, in The 2016 Bible Journeys Calendar. Do we understand what happened on this day? Do we know what this Day was? Astute classmates may say This Day was the first day God began His Creating of the universe. They would be correct. However, This Day is more than just the First Day of The Lord God's Creating. There were Six days of creation. Five days of creating were during the Last Days of the Twelveth Month Of The Original Calendar. These five days were prior to the Lord God resting.  In The Jewish Calendar, they are from Elul 25 - 29.

Let's return to The 2016 Bible Journeys Calendar. Notice Day Six of Creating. Day Six in 2015 is a Monday. Originally Day Six was a Friday. The Sixth Day of Creating is not part of The Last Days. Day Six is The Day of Judgment that we read about in Genesis Three.

On The Sixth Day we are Taught Adam's dust was gathered from the location in front of The Holy Altar of The Holy Temple in Jerusalem. The Holy Dust was kneaded into a shapeless mass. In The Third Hour, Adams limbs were shaped. In The Fourth Hour, The Lord God 'Breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and Adam became a living soul'.  In The Fifth Hour, Adam arose and stood on his feet. In The Sixth Hour, Adam Gave Names to all the Animals. In The Seventh Hour, Eve was separated from Adam. In The Eighth Hour, Eve became his Wife. They consummated their relationship. Cain and his twin sister were born. In Ninth Hour Adam and Eve were Instructed In The Seven Laws that the universe is to operate by. In The Tenth Hour Adam and Eve sinned. In The Eleventh, Adam and Eve were Tried Judged. In The Twelfth Hour before the sunset and Sabbath began in Gan Eden Adam and Eve were expelled. Sabbath 38b

The point is on The Day of Judgment humankind departed The Garden of Eden. The Prophet Isaiah Prophesied that on this same Day, i.e. The Day of Judgment,  the outcasts among Israel will be gathered back.

Isaiah 27.13

And it shall come to pass on that Day, that the great shofar shall be blown, and those shall come who were lost in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship The Lord on the Holy Mount at Jerusalem.

This immediately follows the Shmittah Year. Our Rabbis Teach that the end of the Seven Year Cycle The Son of David, i.e. Messiah will come on The First Day of The First Year of the New Seven Year Cycle. Sanhedrin 97a

This will be The Year of Jubilee when The Land is Returned, all prior debt is forgiven, and all slaves are released among The People of Israel.

Our Parshat Speaks of This Day in Deuteronomy 30.1 - 7 Verse Five begins with the Word וֶהֱבִיאֲךָ  Veh Heh Vee Ah Kaw meaning 'to bring.' Please make a note of this because we will return to this point when we discuss Moses prophecy later in this discussion. Why? The Gematria points to The Jubilee Year.

Devarim 30.1 - 7

'And it shall come to pass, when all these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations, where the Lord your God has driven you, And shall return to the Lord your God, and shall obey his voice according to all that I command you this day, you and your children, with all your heart, and with all your soul; That then the Lord your God will turn your captivity, and have compassion upon you, and will return and gather you from all the nations, where the Lord your God has scattered you. If your outcasts have been driven out to the farthest parts of heaven, from there will the Lord your God gather you, and from there will he fetch you; And the Lord, your God, will bring you into the land that your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and he will do you good, and multiply you above your fathers. And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live. And the Lord your God will put all these curses upon your enemies, and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.'

Some Teach that we do not know the Day or The Hour Messiah will come/ This is not entirely true.

We know Messiah will come immediately following 'The Last Days. The last Days are 25 Elul through 29 Elul.

We know that Messiah will come immediately after the Last Days of the week. The Last Days of The Week Are Friday and Sabbath. The Lord God is precise.

Genesis 2.2 - 3

And on the Seventh Day God Ended His work that He had made, and He Rested on The Seventh Day from all His work that He had made. And God Blessed The Seventh Day, and Sanctified It; because that in it He had rested from all his work which God Created and Made.

We know The Messiah will come on Sabbath Rosh Ha Shannah immediately following the Shmittah Year. Sanhedrin 97a

Some believe Messiah will come following the Seventh Seven Year Cycle, i.e. the 49th Year. [7 Years x 7 Years] - Some think The Messiah will come in the Fiftieth Year. Some believe the Fiftieth Year is the Year of Jubilee.

It is on This Day, i.e. Rosh Ha Shanah that we, The People of Israel gather to weep and seek repentance for our sins.

We know The Messiah will come in The Last Days of The Last Of The Years according to Ezekiel 38.

Yehezekiel 38.8

After many Days, you will have paid for [past sins], at the End of The Years you will come to The Land that is restored from the destruction. You will be gathered from among many nations, [By The Lord] to The Mountains of Israel that were continually desolate [of people]. And He will bring you forth from nations, and you shall dwell securely with them [your people].

Dear Ones The People of Israel do not posses all of The Holy Land The Lord God Gave to us. How will The People of Israel gain ownership and full control of every meter of The Land of Israel?  Possessing all The Holy Land will require a huge miracle. Today we are capable of receiving minute by minute information as it unfolds in our world. We know the present Day picture in The Holy Land of Israel looks gruesome. It looks like war is coming. There are disputes as to who owns all The Holy Land of Israel. These disputes must be settled! They will be settled!

Moses Prophesied, 'The Lord your God Will Bring you into [The Holy Land Of Israel] which your fathers possessed, and you will possess The Holy Land Of Israel; the Lord, your God, Will do good for you, and multiply you above your fathers.'

Devarim 30.5

We know Deuteronomy 30.5 is a prophesy for our present age because of the Words  הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יָרְשׁוּ אֲבֹתֶיךָ .

Time & Gematria - Possess Land.jpg

The אֲבֹתֶיךָ Ah Voh Teh Caw means 'Your Fathers'. Deuteronomy 30.5 informs us that after Joshua and The Army of Israel conquered all The Holy Land, then partitoned The Holy Land to each Tribe, then possed The Holy Land and Then because of our sins were displaced from The Holy Land of Israel and scattered to the four corners of the earth. It is from the four corners of The Earth that The Lord God Will bring each of us back to The Holy Land.

Today more of The People of Israel live outside of The Holy Land than those living in The Holy Land.

- The Lord God has not brought all of us To The Holy Land of Israel yet.

- The People of Israel do not possess all The Holy Land of Israel that our Fathers possessed.  Today The People of Israel possess a portion of The Holy Land, so this portion of the prophecy remains to be fulfilled. The People of Israel must possess the entire Holy Land including all of the Holy City, Jerusalem. Moses prophesied, ' You will possess The Land.'

The birth of Isaac was to give Abraham a son to inherit or to possess The Land of Canaan. The Gematria of יָרְשׁוּ  Yaw Rih Shoo meaning to possess is 516. The Gematria of יוֹרֵשׁ Yoh Raysh meaning to inherit is 516. In Chapter Five we discussed Mitzvot that require us to both posses all The Holy Land of Israel and to inherit all the Holy Land of Israel. In Chapter Five I stated there are some Mitzvot that cannot be Observed until The People of Israel possess all of the Holy Land. What does this mean? Deuteronomy 30.5 remains to be entirely fulfilled.

Dear Reader the clock is ticking until The Lord God Brings The People of Israel back into complete possession of The Land of Israel. What conditions MUST exist for The People of Israel to Possess all the Land of Israel? A question arises in regards to Jeremiah 33.

Jeremiah 33.12 - 18

Thus says The Lord of Hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all its cities, shall be a habitation of shepherds who make their flocks lie down. In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the Shephelah, and in the cities of the Negev, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him who tells them, Says The Lord.  Behold, The Days come, Says The Lord, that I will perform that good thing that I have promised to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those

Days, and at that Time, I will cause an offshoot of righteousness to grow up from David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in The Land. In those Days, Judah shall be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is the name by which she shall be called, 'The Lord is our Righteousness.' For thus Says The Lord; David shall never lack a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel; Neither shall The Priests, or The Levites lack a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle Meal Offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

The 'Again' in Verse Twelve is implied. Is this about two destructions of The Land of Israel? Some Rabbis were opposed to Israel becoming a nation in 1948. Why? Because, The Lord did not do this. If they are correct is there the possibility of another destruction?

Those in control of The Holy Land must return The Holy Land to the tribes of original inheritance BEFORE The Year of Jubilee. In Joshua's Day, The Holy Land was taken little by little through the war at The Lord God's Direction. Perhaps this will be the course again. . . Then perhaps a second destruction awaits. I hope not!!

The People of Israel are in The Time of Blessing and the Time of Curse. Many of The People of Israel fulfill the Observances they can but cannot fulfill them all. This is the curse. We are stuck. The great Sage, Rambam cautions us to be careful about attempting to pinpoint the prophetic dates. Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Stone Edition Tanach (Mesorah Publications, Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. 1993), p. 351Second Edition p 1299,

There is a process. I don't see the process alining with Holy Scripture at this time. This could change quickly! To possess The Holy Land means Time will be required to acquire ever meter of The Holy Land again. Time will be required to divide between Tribes. Time will be required to determine which Tribe each of us descends from.  Then the Tribal Leaders must settle descendants into their Land. Then after each of us are settled into our Land. It is then that each of us possess The Land. Then we can again begin celebrating the Year of Jubilee in The Holy Land Of Israel.

By some accounts we are in the 49th year, I.e the Year of Jubilee right now, i.e. this Year. By other accounts, the Year of Jubilee will begin on Rosh HaShanah 5776 and conclude on Yom Kipper of 5777 FC. At night fall.

If in the very near future the Bet Din were to declare this to be the Year of Jubilee according to one of the above calculations Great miracles beyond our imagination would be required. The Bet Din cannot proclaim a true Year of Jubilee until The People of Israel are completely in possession of The Holy Land. In The Year of Jubilee, The Holy Land must be returned to the Tribe from which it inherited it.

הֱבִיאֲךָ Heh Vee Ah Kaw meaning 'to bring' in Deuteronomy 30.5 is the Gematria of 44. The Word Jubilee is also the Gematria of 44.

וֶהֱבִיאֲךָ

Veh Heh Vee Ah Kaw / And To Bring

ו6  ה5  ב2  י10  א1  ך20  = 44

בַּיֹּבֵל

Bah Yoh Vayl / In Jubilee

ב2 י10 ב2 ל30  = 44

לְבָבִי

Lih Vaw Vee / My Heart

ל30 ב2 ב2 י10  = 44

What is the Mystical meaning? The Lord God Brings The People of Israel to The Holy Land to possess The Land so we can return to Observing all Mitzvot, especially The Year of Jubilee. In the process of bringing us to the Holy Land The Lord God Circumcises our heart.

This is a discussion about Time and Gematria. At this Time, The People of Israel are still living in the Time of Blessing and curse. The curse is that we are not Observing all 613 Commands of The Torah. Many of us live outside The Land, Our hearts are not circumcised. We do not possess all The Land. We cannot pass The Land to our children as an inheritance. The Third Temple must be built. Articles of The Holy Temple must be restored. The Priests and Levites must be dedicated and assigned to their positions.

Messiah must come. There is the war that must be fought. The enemies of Israel must be defeated. Children must be born in Israel thus showing security. We must multiply.  Then when all is in order as The Lord God Intends it to be we will do Good. We will be the Blessing spoken of in Genesis Twelve.

Dear Ones,

We began a portion of this discussion in Chapter Five. Please allow me to repeat a little. There I stated, 'This is where we are at today. We are 3,287 years from when Moses spoke those Words. The Jewish people do not occupy all of the Land Promised to them by The Lord God.  Millions of Jews live outside of Eretz Yisroel. The Levites do not occupy the Forty-Eight Cities as intended in Scripture.  The land outside the Forty-Eight cities has been altered. I am saying the Mitzvot spoken of in the above Scriptures will need to be reestablished again as it was in the Days of Joshua!  There will be a serious war to reclaim our land. Jews from every corner of the world will come to help liberate The Land of Israel again. Some countries will be wiped off the face of the earth. Moshiach / Messiah will lead forces to defeat all our enemies. This time they will be defeated once and for all! I am saying The People will fight these wars again as in the days of Joshua.  So it is like each of us is standing before the great Prophet Moses hearing His Words again 3,287 Years later. We return to the subject at hand.

2488 FC

Once the Land of Israel is conquered, Jewish farmers will settle the land and plant crops of grain, i.e. wheat, oats, rye, barley and spelt.  Then at a period in Time after these Times they will harvest their First Fruit.'

In this week's Parshat, we learn about rejoicing because of all the good The Lord God Has Given to us.

Devarim 26.11

Deuteronomy 26.11

You shall rejoice with all the good that the Lord your God Gave you, and your household, and the Levi, and the proselyte in your midst.

All the good is the Gematria of 74. Eternity is also the Gematria 74. We are learning about time and Gematria. Here we have a unique connection between time and Gematria.

We also learn why it is so important to Observe ALL 613 Mitzvot of The Torah. In this Parshat we learn of the Blessings and curses. Deuteronomy 27.26 states the last curse.

Devarim 27.26

Deuteronomy 27.26

Cursed is the one that does not stand up for everything from Aleph to Tav of The Words of This, The Torah to perform Them and all The People said, 'Amen!.

If and when the People of Israel do not Observe a Mitzvot of Ha Torah this is a point in Time that one is cursed. Why am I pointing this out? It is because every Observance of The Torah is important. Well-meaning individuals attempt to persuade The People of Israel that the Observances in The Torah are filled and that we no longer need to Observe them. They mean well but they are mistaken! We discussed this in Chapter Five.

We are the Holy p\People because we have responsibilities to Observe The 613 Commands of The Torah. Observing the 613 Commands separates the people of Israel from the rest of the world. The Holy Scripture is informing us that we have a choice to be blessed or to be cursed. No one wants to be cursed!  The Parshat concludes with a reminder of what is is like to be Blessed.

Deuteronomy 28.1 - 8

And it shall come to pass, if you shall give heed diligently to The Voice of The Lord your God, to observe and to do All His Commandments which I command you this day, that the Lord your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth;  And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall listen to the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the produce of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. Blessed shall be your basket and your store. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouses, and in all that you set your hand to, and he shall bless you in the land that the Lord your God gives you.

The Lord Said,

Genesis 12.2 - 3

'And I Will Make of you a great nation, and I Will Bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you; and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.'

Folks don't understand that the blessing for the people of Israel comes from our faithful adherence to do what The Lord God Has Commanded. If we fail to do what the Lord has commanded us, we are cursed. When we Observed the 613 Commands in the Torah, we are blessed.

On one day somewhere in the last Days of Moses's life, He took the time to remind us of this important principle of Observing every Command of the Torah. Now, Thousands of Years Later there are many Commands in the Torah that we cannot Observe. I shared a few in Chapter Five. Even though there are some Commands, we cannot fulfill we should do our very best to Observe the Commands that are within our reach. Honestly, This is not about how long one prays or studies The Torah each Day. It's about the sincerity of one's heart And the attitude that we possess. This returns us to the Gematria of 74. We are to express thanks and appreciation for every good thing the Lord Gives us.

בְכָל־הַטּוֹב

Vih Cawl - Hah Tohv / In All The Good [The Lord Has Given us]

ב2 כ20 ל30  ה5 ט9 ו6 ב2 = 74

What do we say each Day in our prayers?

Psalms 145.

David's Psalm of praise. I will extol you, my God, O king; and I will bless your Name for ever and ever. Every day I will bless you, and I will praise your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and of your wondrous works. And men shall speak of the might of your awesome acts, and I will declare your greatness. They shall utter the fame of your great goodness, and shall sing of your righteousness. The Lord is Gracious and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of abundant loving kindness. The Lord is good to all, and His Mercies are over all His works. All your works shall praise you, O Lord; and your pious ones shall bless you.

יִסַּד

Psalms 119.89

Forever, O Lord is Your Word fixed in Heaven.

What did we read in Deuteronomy 28.1? 'And it shall come to pass if you shall give heed diligently to The Voice of The Lord your God...'

Each Time we thank The Lord God for what He Has Given us is a Point in Time! Each of us should have many of these points in Time. We choose the appointed Time to say 'Thank you!'.  We are the witnesses of His Blessings throughout eternity.

Dear Ones

This week in our Parshat, We have many references to time. The references to time in this week's Parshat Are unique in this instance. Words that we commonly associate with Time like day, week, month and year are not frequently used in this weeks Parshat. Instead, Time is mentioned in other ways. For example Deuteronomy 21.10 - 11.

Deuteronomy 21.10 - 11

When you go forth to war against your enemies, and the Lord, your God, has delivered them into your hands, and you have taken them captive,

And see among the captives a beautiful woman, and desire her, that you would have her as your wife; Then you shall bring her home to your house; and she shall shave her head, and pare everything from Aleph to Tav of her nails; And she must discard her prison garb from upon her, and shall remain in your house, and bewail everything from Aleph to Tav of her father and everything from Aleph to Tav of her mother for A Month of Days; and after that you shall go into her, and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.

'When you go forth to war against your enemies' Speaks of the time. We don't know specifically when that time will be at this minute. This time is not defined like The Sabbath, The Seventh Day. This time is not defined like Passover we know when Passover comes. This time is not defined like Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur. We know when Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur come. This time as defined by The Words 'when you go forth to war against your enemies. The time that The Torah is speaking about does not begin until specifically then. This is one of those unique times that we are discussing in this weeks Parshat.

The second part to time in this Verses after the Lord your God has delivered our enemies into our hands. The first time as we go to war. The second time is after were successful in the war and our enemies are defeated. The third time is when we take them captive. The fourth time is when we see a beautiful woman and desire her as a wife. The fifth time is when one brings this beautiful Captive woman to one's home, and she shaves her head until she's completely bald. Then she pairs for nails. Then she changes garments. She removes her garments of captivity. The sixth time is the 30 days of morning for her mother and father. After all six of these times are completed then at that point that the seventh time begins. The individual that desires her can marry her. The Torah mentions seven different times with only one direct reference to a time, i.e. 'A Month of Days.'

A portion of our discussion regarding 'A Month of Days' must form around the words אֵשֶׁת יְפַת־תֹּאַר Ay Shet - Yih Paht - Toh Ahr - meaning A Woman who is beautiful, who is of appropriate form. Another meaning may also be 'a beautiful woman who is shapely apportioned'. Those that believe this is the correct interpretation suggest The Torah is trying to bring the soldier to his senses by having this beautiful woman mourn for her Father and Mother in his home for 30 days and by having her shave her head and cut her nails. The intent, they say is to make this beautiful woman appear unattractive and unappealing. Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Stone Edition The Chumash (Mesorah Publications, Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. 1993), p. 1046

I feel that the first definition is accurate For several reasons. The only place in The Torah that the words The Words יֶרַח יָמִים Yeh Tah Ach Yaw Meem / A Month of Days appear is in Deuteronomy 21.13. Therefore, we recognize these words carry a special meaning and intention. Our duty is to understand the intention.

We must look behind the scenes to see what's there. When Ha Torah says, 'A Month of Days' It may appear like this is in reference to any month in the lunar cycle of either 29 or 30 days. However, our Sages Teach this is specifically in reference to The Month of Elul. During the month of Elul, we blow the shofar each day except for Shabbat. When the month of the Elul concludes, we celebrate Rosh Hashanah, The Day of the Shofar blowing, the day of judgment and the birthday of the world. Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, Torah Chumash Devarim Kehot Publication Society (Brooklyn, NY 2011) p 125

Normally one begins morning on the day of death. However, here it appears to be different. The Words יֶרַח יָמִים Yeh Tah Ach Yaw Meem / A Month of Days may be interpreted as 'A Moon of Days'. Also, we need to keep in mind that the captive woman is not Jewish. Therefore, she will need to convert before the soldier can marry her. No matter how much the soldier desires her, he may not force her to convert. The Beautiful woman must choose to convert to Judaism on her own.

The conversion process for the beautiful woman is timely. The beautiful woman must be taught all 613 Mitzvot of The Torah. She must understand. She must except them and practice them. This takes time. Observant conversions normally require a minimum of one year.

Rabbi Ellie Monk writes in The Call Of The Torah that the soldier is Spiritually perceptive. He is not lustful! He sees a beautiful woman. What is it that he sees? He sees the soul of this beautiful woman. She is beautiful because of her spiritual relationship to the Lord. Therefore, he takes her to provide her soul the opportunity to observe all 613 mitzvot of Ha Torah as a convert. He takes a position formed by Ohr HaChaim and other Kabbalists. Rabbi Eli Munk, Call of the Torah, The Artscroll Mesorah Series, (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1994), pp 215 - 216

The Torah requires that the beautiful woman cut her hair. This is symbolic of removing her former intellect. As she learns The Torah and her hair begins to grow again she takes on a new intellect of one that is Torah observant.

The Torah requires that the beautiful woman cut her nails. This is symbolic of removing superfluous emotional indulgences. Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, Torah Chumash Devarim Kehot Publication Society (Brooklyn, NY 2011) p 125 also cutting one's nails is in preparation for the Mikvah Conversion. Why? The entire body must be entirely immersed in a fresh flowing body of water. This is symbolic of cleansing oneself of the past.

Mystically there is a connection between 'A Month of Days' and dwelling. Remember how our discussion begin. 'When you go to war against your enemies.' The beautiful woman is from among the enemies of The Lord God and The People of Israel. The soldier has taken his enemy captive. Normally enemies of war are in prison camps. So why does The Torah say 'You won't bring her into your home?.' We teach their home is a sacred place where Taurus sayings are taught. Wouldn't this perhaps be disruptive to the home atmosphere and the learning out Torah? One can not tolerate disruptive behavior in their home especially during the month Elul! So we know there has to be more to what the Torah is telling us here. I believe The Torah is informing us that the soldier has removed this beautiful lady from the negative and harmful environment and in turn has placed her in an environment of Spirituality and Torah Observances. In other words, she used to dwell in a bad environment and now she dwells in A Torah observant environment. This dwelling is for 'A Moon of Days' or 'A Month of Days.' Often when the Word יָמִים Yah Meem is used this is reference to a year. Remember in Chapter One where we discussed יָמִים Yah Meem in Deuteronomy 1.46 and 2.1?

The point is that we know conversation requires at least a year. We also know that  יָמִים Yah Meem is used in reference to Years. The righteous soldier takes the beautiful woman to his home to learn and observe Torah for a year. During this time, she is dwelling in his home. However, the intent is that she is dwelling in Torah learning and observance.

יֶרַח יָמִים

Yeh Tah Ach Yaw Meem / A Month of Days

י10 ר200 חי10 מ40 י10 ם40 = 318

יוֹשֵׁב

Yoh Shayv / To Dwell

י10 וש300 ב2 = 318

Remember, The normal. For mourning is Seven Days. When the Torah Says,  יָמִים Yah Meem 'A Moon of Days' or 'A Month of Days', We understand there is an intended meaning that we must search for. It is clear! This is not the normal type of mourning. This is a different type of mourning. As noted earlier, the period for mourning her father and her mother in this situation is during the month of Elul. The beautiful woman has concluded her year of Torah learning and is preparing to convert. The last stage of her preparation is to mourn the month of Elul for her father and her mother. Then on the eve of the birthday of the world, on the day of judgment, on The Day of Remembering and on the day we blow the shofar the beautiful woman completes her conversion by going to the mikvah and immerses herself thus completing the conversion process. She is now available to her husband.

What does The Torah Say about Sarah, Rachel, and Hannah? 'On The New Year Sarah, Rachel and Hannah were visited,' i.e. they conceived.' Think about what this means. Rosh Hashanah is this incredibly Holy Day. Rosh Hashanah is also a date for physical relations with ones spouse. It is on this day that soldier and the beautiful woman consummate their marriage.

Deuteronomy 21.18 - 21

If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not listen to them; Then shall his father and his mother lay hold of him, and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place; And they shall say to the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones that he dies; so shall you put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

We have another example of time not being mentioned in verses 18 through 21. The first mention of time is 'if a man has a stubborn son.' The second dimension of time is 'if a man has a rebellious son.' The third dimension of time is when the son refuses to 'obey the voice of his father'. The fourth dimension of time is when the son refuses to 'obey the voice of his mother.'

Somewhere in the midst of these times are two other times. There are the times when the son is gluttonous. There is the time when the son is a drunkard. How many times does it take For one to be gluttonous? How make times doesn't take for one to be a drunkard? These times are evidence. But we cannot say how many times each represent. It takes to determine when one is gluttonous and Time to become a drunkard.

The next dimension of time is when each of these times has been repeated multiple times. Then the next Time is when the father and the mother take hold of their son and bring him to the elders of the city at the gate place. There has to be a determination. The son has to be found guilty. There have to be witnesses. Finally, After all of these Times are completed The final Time comes where the son is stoned to death, and he dies.

Deuteronomy 21.22 - 23

And if a man has committed a sin deserving death, and he is to be put to death, and you hang him on a tree; 23  His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but you shall bury him that day; for he who is hanged is accursed by God; that your land, which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance, be not defiled.

At the conclusion of Chapter 21, Scripture speaks of a time when a man has committed a capital offense that deserves death. Then scripture speaks of the Time after he has been put to death. Scripture is speaking to the time when his body is hanging on a wooden tree. There are some times indicators in the above examples where Scripture is speaking of definite times. Scripture concludes this observance by giving us a definite reference to time, 'you are to bury him that day.'

Within this Parshat, there are many examples of time observances. They don't stand out because keywords noting times are not used. Each of these is times.

Deuteronomy 24.16

When you lend your brother anything, you shall not go into his house to fetch his pledge. You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you lend shall bring out the pledge outside to you. And if the man is poor, you shall not sleep in his pledge; You shall deliver him the pledge back when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless you; and it shall be righteousness to you before the Lord your God.

Dear Ones

We are going to discuss several Observances specific to The Land of Israel. These Observances are linked ONLY to the Land of Israel. ONLY those Jews living in The Land Of Israel can perform these Observances. Those of us outside the Land of Israel should not ignore these Observances. We should be aware of them. We should be supportive of them even though we who are outside The Land of Israel cannot perform them.

On the Day Moses taught the Observance known as 'The Great Trumah' The People of Israel were living outside of The Land of Israel. Before anyone could perform this Observance The Land of Israel had to be conquered and divided. Then Jewish farmers had to settle into The Land and plant grain produces, grape vineyards and olive trees. Vineyards and olive trees remained because The Army of Israel was prohibited from cutting down fruit trees in Deuteronomy 20.19.

Dear Ones, our discussion in this chapter will be a little like a hexagon. We will discuss different views to the same subject in Time. The heart of our discussion is Deuteronomy 18.3 - 5. We will branch off from our discussion several times then return.

Deuteronomy 18.1 - 5

The Priests the Levites, and all The Tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel; they shall eat The Offerings of The Lord made by fire, and His inheritance. Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brothers; The Lord is their inheritance, as He has said to them. And this shall be The Priest's due from The People, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it is ox or sheep; and they shall give to The priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the stomach. Also The firstfruit of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, shall you give to him. For The Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in The Name of The Lord, him and his sons FOREVER.

Two Mitzvot

There are two Mitzvot / Observances in Deuteronomy 18.1 - 2. Both are Prohibitive Observances. The First Observance is in regards to the Kohanim / Priests. 'The Priests the Levites, and all The Tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel'. This means The Tribe of Levi will not inherit a section of The Land of Eretz Yisroel except for the Forty-Eight Cities. [Leviticus 25.34 and Numbers 35.2;7]. The second Observance is The Tribe of Levi could not share in the booty the armies of Israel captured during their conquest.

We are going to branch off for several pages to discuss Three Observances associated with the cities and land given to The Levites as an inherit.

Numbers 35.2

And The Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, Saying; 'Command The People of Israel, that they give to The Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to live in; and you shall also give to the Levites an open ground around the cities. And they shall have the cities to live in; and their open ground shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts. And the open ground around the cities, that you shall give to The Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits around. And you shall measure from outside the city on the east side Two Thousand cubits, and on the south side Two Thousand cubits, and on the west side Two Thousand cubits, and on the north side Two thousand cubits, and the city shall be in the midst. This shall be to them the open ground of the cities. And the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be six cities of refuge, which you shall appoint for the man slayer that he may flee there; and to them you shall add Forty Two cities. So all the cities which you shall give to The Levites shall be Forty Eight cities; both them and their open grounds.'

The Levites and the Priests are separated unto The Lord. The Tribe of Levi is a chosen Tribe from among the other Tribes of Israel. They are separated for and dedicated to service in and around the Holy Temple. They are to spend their time studying and Teaching Ha Torah. They are also The Learning Centers distributed throughout The Land of Israel where by their brethren may come to study. Six of the cites are cites of refuge for one who has murdered by accident to flee for protection. This is a Pro-formative Mitzvah.

Leviticus 25.34

But the field of the pasture lands of their cities may not be sold; for it is their everlasting possession.

Mitzvot

There is a great deal more to this Observance than what we will discuss. I am sharing these two Observances to help us better realize the permanency of The last Word in Deuteronomy 18.5, 'FOREVER'. This is very complicated in this sense. The People of Israel are given 613 Observances forever. Deuteronomy 18.1 -5 Informs us that The People of Israel are to give to The Levites 'A due' forever.

Mitzvot

We are also informed in Numbers 35.2 - 7 that The People of Israel are to give Forty-Eight Cities to The Levites along with the land surrounding each city going out Two-Thousand Cubits which is about eighteen to Twenty-One inches in length. This means between 3,000 to 3,500 feet. Now we must inquire which are the Forty-Eight cities? Are the Forty-Eight cities still in existence today?

Mitzvot

In Leviticus 25.34 Ha Torah informs us of another Observance. The Land surrounding the Forty-Eight Cities cannot be altered or sold.

Here is how this becomes very complicated! The Forty Eight cities must be returned to The Levites. The land around these cities must be returned to The Levities. Who owns the homes in theses cities? How expensive are these homes? What has happened to the land around these cities? Has the land been sold? Has the land been altered? For us humans this is a big mess. Yet, these are three Mitzvot of Ha Torah with 'FOREVER' stamped on them By The Lord God! Why am I sharing this? This seems completely devoid of the beginning discussion. How are these Three Observances related to our discussion?

We now return to where we began our discussion. Moses was Teaching The People of Israel in the year 2488 FC. when they were just a short time from beginning the conquest of Eretz Yisroel about Observances they would fulfill years down the road.

Dear Ones, this is where we are at today. A number of countries will be wiped off the face of the earth. Moshiach / Messiah will lead forces to defeat all our enemies. This time they will be defeated once and for all! I am saying The People will fight these wars again as in the days of Joshua. So it is like each of us are standing before the great Prophet Moses hearing His Words again 3,287 Years later. We return to the subject at hand.

2488 FC

Once the Land of Israel was conquered, Jewish farmers settled the land and planted crops of grain, i.e. wheat, oats, rye, barley and spelt. Then they could harvest their First Fruit. When a Jewish farmer owned land with grape vines or olive trees they could observe the Mitzvah of offering First Fruits without planting them first..

Mitzvot

Another Observance for the Land of Israel is The Shmittah Year. Every Seventh Year The Land of Israel is to be given a Time of rest. This Year, 5775 FC is a Shmittah Year. The Shmittah Year began on Rosh HaShanah, Sept 25, 2014 and continues until September 13, 2015. In conjunction with the Shmittah Year is The Release of debt between The People of Israel. Deuteronomy 15.1 - 3.

Deuteronomy 15.1 - 3

At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release. And this is the manner of the release; Every creditor who lends anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, or of his brother; because it is called the Lord's release. Of a foreigner you may exact it again; but that which is yours with your brother your hand shall release;

The above Scriptures contain Three Observances. They are:

Mitzvot

An Individual of B'nei Yisroel that is owed money from another individual of B'nei Yisroel may not demand payment of money owed once the Shmittah has passed.

Mitzvot

The Lord God Commands that the debt be 100% forgiven. Those of B'nei Yisroel who are owed money from B'nai Yisroel must write a waiver saying I waive all claims to debts owed me from among The People of Israel.

Mitzvot

There is a separation between the People of Israel and The People of Noach. Debts owed to anyone among B'nei Yisroel may demand payment from among The People of B'nai Noach when the debts are due regardless of The Shmittah year. This is called 'The Release.'

The Mitzvah is ONLY for The People of Israel. Why mention The Release? The Release happens in conjunction with the Seventh Year. At nightfall on September 13, 2015 all debt among The People of Israel will be cancelled.

When the last day of Elul 5775 FC concludes The Shmittah Year ends. . This is also the last Day of the Seventh Year. All debt between B'nei Yisroel is cancelled with the exception of the debt assigned to the Bet Din, i.e. Jewish Court.

During The Shmittah Year The Land of Israel sits. There is no plowing. There is no sowing of seed. There is no harvesting for profit.

Leviticus 25.20 - 22

And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our produce; Then I Will Command My Blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat still of old fruit until the ninth year; until its fruits come in you shall eat of the old store.

Ha Torah is not saying that The People living on The Land in Israel must go three years complete years without sowing or harvesting. Here is what Ha Torah is Saying. Our present Shmittah year began 01 Tishrei 5775 F.C. However in reality it began much earlier. Farmers would only plant crops that they could harvest before The Shmittah began.

5774 FC

Part of this year is counted for several reasons.

Farmers could only harvest crops up to when The Shmittah year began.

Farmers would not be permitted to plant fall crops because The Shmittah Year began.

All work on The Land stopped when The Shmittah year began.

5775 FC

No planting sowing, fertilizing or harvesting was done during The Shmittah year. The Land rested.

5776 FC

The Last Day of Elul 5775 FC concludes the Shmittah Year. However with all the Holy Observances that begin with the new Year planting among The People of Israel would not begin until the spring for many Jewish Farmers. Why?

2 Mitzvot

Deuteronomy 16.16

Three times in a year shall all your males appear before The Lord your God in The Place which he shall choose [ Jerusalem ] ; in The Feast of Unleavened Bread, and in The Feast of Weeks, and in The Feast of Booths; and they shall not appear before The Lord empty; Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of The Lord your God which He Has Given you.

The second Mitzvot is appearing with an offering. We are to give as The Lord Has Blessed us. If the blessing is tiny then a small gift is appropriate. If the blessing is great then a large gift is appropriate.

3,287 years ago this meant traveling by foot, donkey or Camel to Jerusalem. In some instances this required traveling several weeks to arrive in time to build a booth to celebrate the Festival of Booths.

As a way of example if a descendant of Simeon living is southern Israel were to travel to Jerusalem this would be a journey of about 140 miles {225 KM} as the eagle flies. This does not include traveling by foot through dessert or up over mountains etc. which was the common method of travel then. The length of a days travel was about 15 miles. Merrill C. Tenney, General Editor, The Zondervan Pictorial Encyclopedia of the Bible Volume Five (Grand Rapids MI Zondervan Publishing House 3rd printing 1978) p 799. The average traveler would take about 9 days each way.

However, when one includes the Observance of not traveling on Shabbat it is likely that the Nine Day journey becomes a Twelve Day journey depending on Shabbat and other High Holy Days.

As a way of example if a descendant of Dan living in northern Israel were to travel to Jerusalem the journey would be about 100 miles {150 KM}. This would require about Six Days each way. When one includes the Observance of not traveling on Shabbat or High Holy Days the Six Day journey becomes perhaps a Nine Day journey.

Think of it this way. Before the Festival of Booths is Yom Kippor The Day of Atonement. Yom Kipper concludes just Four Days before The Festival of Booths. Neither those traveling from Southern or Northern Israel could make the trip if they left after the conclusion of Yom Kippur. All travelers would need to leave the day after Rosh HaShanah to have time to travel and set up their Booth for the Festival of Booths. Then after the Festival they would make the long journey home. When they arrived home sowing time will have passed.

So we learn from these examples we learn Holy Days associated with Time even though Ha Torah Does not spell them out with each mention. So when we read Deuteronomy 18.1 - 5 where It is Written רֵאשִׁית דְּגָנְךָ 'Your First Grain' we should realize this is in reference to the First Day of The Festival of Weeks, Shavuot. We have connected the Time, with the Festival of Shavuot The Holy Scriptures referenced.

BaMidbar 28.26

Also on the Day of The Firstfruit when you bring a new Grain Tribute to The Lord on your Festival of Weeks it shall be a Holy Gathering to you. Cease all labors work.

The point is after all battles were fought and the wars won The People of Israel were entirely in position of The Land of Israel. Then The Land was divided. Then Jewish farmers planted wheat in the spring. Some of the new Wheat [Grains] were first brought to The Lord on Shavuot / The Festival of Weeks / Pentecost. What day was this?

Dear Reader, Moses died on 7 Adar 2488 FC. He was mourned for Thirty Days until 7 Nissan 2488. Joshua Instructed the People they would be crossing the Jordan in three Days on 10 Nissan. The People of Israel crossed the Jordan River then journeyed to the eastern edge of Jericho and camped at Gigal.

10 Nissan 2488 FC

Joshua 4.19

And the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

Joshua performs Brit Milah / circumcision on all the males. On 14 Nissan at eve the People of Israel celebrate their first Passover in The Holy Land.

14 Nissan 2488 FC

Joshua 5.9 - 11

And the Lord Said to Joshua, 'This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you.' Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day. And The people of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month in the evening in the plains of Jericho. And they ate of the old grain of the land on the next day after the Passover, unleavened cakes, and parched grain in the same day.

Joshua 14.7

Then the sons of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenazite said to him, 'You know the thing that The Lord Said to Moses the man of God concerning me and you in Kadesh-Barnea. I was Forty years old when Moses the servant of The Lord sent me from Kadesh-Barnea to spy out The land; [ 29 Sivan 2449 FC ] and I brought him back word as it was in my heart. And my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed the Lord my God. And Moses swore on that day, [9 Av 2449 FC] saying, Surely the land on which your feet have trodden shall be your inheritance, and your children's forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God. And now, behold, the Lord Has Kept me alive, as He Said, these forty five years, since The Lord spoke this word to Moses, while the people of Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty five years old [29 Sivan 2495 FC].

Our Sages Teach that The Conquest for The Land of Israel took Seven Years. It is based on this Text. Caleb was Forty Years of age when the spies were sent. This was the second year in the Wilderness. Add Thirty- Eight Years to Forty Years. When B'nei Yisroel began the conquest for The Land of Israel Caleb was 78 Years old. Now we move ahead to Joshua 14.6 - 10. Caleb says he is 85 Years old. This informs us that the conquest took Seven Years. 78 from 85 = 7.

The Seventh Year was the Shmittah Year [2495 FC]. This was the first Seven Years in Jubilee count of Forty-Nine Years. Ninety Days later The Shmittah Year would end with the beginning of the New Year 01Tishri 2496 FC.

Farmers were not plowing their fields yet. The task of dividing the Land among The Twelve Tribes begins. This is why Caleb came to Joshua. He wanted to insure that The Tribe of Judah received the city of Hebron. How long did the division of The Land of Israel take? Our Sages teach Seven years? How do we know this. Remember back to Chapter Two where we discussed the meaning of 'Many Days' regarding the Nineteen Years the People of Israel lived in Kadesh. In Joshua 22.23 we have another use of many Days.

Joshua 22.1 - 4

Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, And said to them, You have kept all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you; You have not left your brothers these many days to this day, [01 Nissan 2502 FC] but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord your God. And now the Lord your God has given rest to your brothers, as he promised them; therefore now return, and go to your tents, and to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.

These Many Days means the division of the land required Seven Years. So the first Seven Years the army of Israel conquered The Holy Land. Then the second Seven Years The Holy Land was divided. The division of the Holy Land concluded about ninety days from the completion of the second Shmittah year. The second Seven Year period ended with the Shmittah Year [2502 FC]. This was the second Seven Years in the Jubilee count of Forty-Nine Years. 01 Tishri 2503 FC began which is September in the Gregorian Calendar. Now farmers were free to prepare their land for sowing wheat and other produce. However remember 01Tishri was Rosh Ha Shanah which is followed by Yom Kippur which is followed by The Festival of Booths so the wheat crop would not be sown until the spring of 2503 FC. The first festival in which new grain was offered by farmers from all twelve Tribes in Israel was Shavuot 2503 FC. This was a little over fourteen years from when Moses spoke the Words רֵאשִׁית דְּגָנְךָ 'Your First Grain'.

דְּגָנְךָ

Dih Gaw Nih Kah / Your Grain

ד4 ג3 נ50 ך20 = 77

It is like the first Seven represents the Seven Years of conquest for the Holy Land of Israel and the second Seven is for the division of The Holy Land Of Israel. Seven plus Seven.

However, the Seventy-Seven is also significant because it points to the Altar The Tribes of Ruben and Gad along with half The Tribe of Manasseh constructed after returning to their tents in Joshua 22. The armies from The Ten Tribes of Israel gathered to war against them because of that altar. However The Ten Tribes learned the altar was not intend for sacrifice. It was intended to be a testimony to their children of the Victories The Lord Brought. The Gematria for sacrifice and for 'your altar' are both 77.

מִזְבַּחֲךָ

Meez Bah Chah Kaw / Your Altar

מ40 ז7 ב2 ח8 20 = 77

זִבְחֲכֶם

Zee Bih Chah Chawm / Sacrifice

רֵאשִׁית

Rah Sheet / First

ר200 א1 ש300 י10 ת400 = 911

Some have inquired about the significance of 911 occurring during a Shirttail year. 9-11-2001 was during the Shirttail year 5761 FC. The Shmittah ended on September 18, 2001. The Shirttail is only in relation to The Land of Israel. 2008 was a Shirttail year and this year, 2015 is a Shirttail year.

I cannot predict what enemies plan or do. All that I can say is that the Shirttail is in relationship ONLY to The Land of Israel. The Gematria of 911 is found and established in the very first Word of Ha Torah. Genesis 1.1 - 'In the beginning'. I see a Mystical relationship between The Firstfruits the People of Israel offered the first time 'In the beginning.'

רֵאשִׁית

Ray Sheet / Firstfruit

ר200 א1 ש300 י10 ת400 = 911

רֵאשִׁית

Ray Sheet / first beginning

ר200 א1 ש300 י10 ת400 = 911

We know that The People of Israel had to possess The Holy Land before they could offer firstfruits. The Gematria for הוֹרַשְׁתָּ meaning to possess is 911.

הוֹרַשְׁתָּ

Hoh Rah Shi Taw / To Possess

ה5 ו6 ר200 ש300 ת400 = 911

Dear Ones We have Journeyed through a number of Mitzvot of HaTorah. We have discussed, in brief, Eleven Mitzvot of Ha Torah. We have mystically linked Time with Gematria.

1. What is prohibited during The Shmittah Year?

2. Explain The Scriptures usage of 'Three Years' in reference to The Shmittah Year.

3. What Year did The People of Israel Bring their first firstfruits of new grain?

4. What is the importance of the Word FOREVER in Deuteronomy 18.1 - 5

5. There are many Observances associated with the Levites. What do you think it means when The Lord God Says, 'O that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep All My Commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever! ' Deuteronomy 5.26?

Lesson 4

By Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk

Dean of Jewish Studies

B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC

Day 1 Month 11 Year 2488 FC

Dear Ones, I am deeply intrigued by the Seventy-Four usages of The Word הַיּוֹם Ha Yohm meaning 'This Day' or 'Today' in Deuteronomy. Each usage of Ha Yohm is a reference to a place and point in Time. Mystically, each of the Seventy-Four references to Time in Deuteronomy is a learning portal. The Word דַּע Daha means 'Know'. The common usage for דַּע is ידע. The Gematria for דַּע is Seventy-Four.

דַּע

Dah / Know

ד4 ע70 = 74

Here we mystically observe Time and Gematria. Each time הַיּוֹם Ha Yohm is written in Deuteronomy gold nuggets of knowledge are waiting to be discovered.. Let's take this a step further. Each time הַיּוֹם Ha Yohm is written in Ha Torah there are gold nuggets of knowledge to be understood. Each time הַיּוֹם is written in Ha Torah we are to congregate around הַיּוֹם to learn. We are to assemble around הַיּוֹם. The Word הַיּוֹם Ha Yohm is written 135 times in Ha Torah. The Gematria for קְהַל meaning 'Congregation or Assembly' is 135. Note Exodus 12.6 says, כֹּל קְהַל עֲדַת־יִשְׂרָאֵל - All The Assemble of Witnesses among Yisroel.

קְהַל

Kih Hahl Assembly

ק100 ה5 ל30 = 135

Like The Word עֵת in Chapter One and יוֹם in Chapter Three each usage can be representative of a blink in Time, a Day in time or a period of time. In Chapter Two we learned that The Word בָּעֵת Baw Ayt represented Thirty Eight Years. In Chapter Three we learned that יוֹם represented Forty Days and Forty Nights. Here in Lesson Four we learn, God Willing, that every time הַיּוֹם is written in Ha Torah we should stop to camp and learn for awhile.

Before we continue learning I would like us to note the Five usages of הַיּוֹם in this weeks Parshat.

Devarim 12.8

לֹא תַעֲשׂוּן כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר אֲנַחְנוּ עֹשִׂים פֹּה הַיּוֹם אִישׁ כָּל־הַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינָיו: ט

Deuteronomy 12.8

You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatever is right in his own eyes.

Devarim 13.19

Deuteronomy 13.19

When you shall give heed to The Voice of The Lord your God, to Observe all His Commandments which I Command you This Day, to do that which is right in The Eyes of The Lord your God.

Devarim 15.5

Deuteronomy 15.5

Only if you carefully listen to The Voice of The Lord your God, to take care to do all these Commandments which I Command you This Day.

Devarim 15.15

Deuteronomy 15.15

And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and The Lord your God Redeemed you; therefore I Command you This Today.

There are many uniquenesses throughout Deuteronomy. For example, The Words אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ Aw Noh Cee - Mih Tzah Vih Kawh meaning 'I Command You' occur Twenty Six times in Deuteronomy. We know that The Holy Name for The Lord, which we do not say aloud is the Gematria of Twenty Six.

י ה ו ה

The Lord

י10 ה5 ו6 ה5 = 26

We make an additional observation. Notice that The Word הַיּוֹם is added to the above Two Words. אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם Aw Noh Cee - Mih Tzah Vih Kawh - Hah Yohm meaning 'I Command You Today' is written Eighteen times in Deuteronomy. These Three Words put definition to The Time and The Gematria. What are we to make of this? We will camp out around these Words for a little while.

We know that The Observances in The First Four Books Of Moses, i.e. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers were given by The Lord God on Mt Sinai. The Lord Instructed Moses to Teach The People of Israel the last 245 Observances in Deuteronomy during his last Thirty-Six Days as noted below.

Deuteronomy 1.3

And it happened in Year Forty in Month Eleven, in Day One to the Month that Moses shared with The People of Israel, about every Command that The Lord Said to him with them.

Deuteronomy 4.40

You shall keep therefore His Statutes, and His Commandments, which I Command you Today, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days upon The Land, which The Lord your God Gives you, forever.

Deuteronomy 1.3 informs us that 'It was in Year Forty, Month Eleven and the first Day that Moses Spoke to The People of Israel'. This was Thirty-Seven Days from when Moses died. Moses died on Day Seven of Month Twelve, i.e. 7 Adar. There are Thirty Days in Shevat plus Seven Days in Adar. He did not Teach B'nei Yisroel on the day of his death. Moses taught us Thirty-Six Days from Deuteronomy 1.3 until 6 Adar. Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Stone Edition The Chumash (Mesorah Publications, Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. 1993), p. 939; Heninrich W. Guggenheimer, Seder Olam {A Jason Aronson Book, Lanham, Maryland, Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Inc. 2005) p 100

We learn when Moses began this Instruction. We also note that there are break periods amidst The Instruction. Where are the break points? Each time Moses Said the Words אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם Aw Noh Cee - Mih Tzah Vih Kawh - Hah Yohm meaning 'I Command You Today', there is a break. Please note the before mentioned Verses of Deuteronomy 13.19 and 15.5. There is no point for Moses to Say 'I command you 'This Day' more than once. Why repeat 'I Command you This Day if he has already said it? So when Moses Says, 'I Command You This Day' it is a conclusion that either begins a new Days instruction or concludes that Days instruction. The Command is sufficient for its self. It's a period. The periods of instruction were about Two Days each. 36 divided by 2 = 18. Again, The Words, 'I Command you This Day' are written Eighteen times in Deuteronomy. Eighteen represents 'Life' The Observances of Ha Torah are to bring us life!

חַי

Chai Live / Life

ח8 י10 = 18

When we examine the entire Book of Deuteronomy we will discover these periods of learning. In Parshat Re'ey There are 54 Observances.17 are Performative and 37 are prohibitive. Rabbi A. Y. Kahan The Taryag Mitzvot (Brooklyn, N.Y. Keser Torah Publications 1987, 1988) p 266

Devarim 15.7

Deuteronomy 15.7

If there is among you a poor man of one of your brothers inside any of your gates in your land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother;

לְבָבְךָ

Lih Vaw Veh Kah

Your Heart

ל30 ב2 ב2 ך20 =54

What are we to take away from our discussion? All the Mitzvot / Commandments are to assist us in how we behave. What do we pray everyday?

Deuteronomy 6.5,6

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart.

Here are five questions for reflection. Those seeking course credit please post the answers or send answers to Dr_Akiva_Gamliel@bnti.us - SUBJECT BOX - Pasted ONLY these words in the subject box. these words.

Time: Awareness

Dear Reader, the purpose of this discussion is to draw our attention to the number of places where Time is mentioned in The Weekly Parshat. . It is so easy to pass through The Parshat time after time without giving much thought to Time in the Parshat. There are 111 Verses in the Sidra Eikve. The Letter א Aleph represents God. An Aleph is One-Thousand. The Gematria of אֶלֶף Aleph is 111. The Word סְאִים Sih Eem means to measure, The Gematria of Sih Eem is 111. My intention in this Parshat is to relate to the reader the importance of time in the Holy Scriptures. Time is a point of measurement. Day is a measurement. Week is a measurement. An hour is a measurement. Often we pass by the measurement of Time without giving a great deal of thought. Shortly we will examine the Verses in this Sidra directly relating to time. Do you have any idea of the number of Verses that mention Time? Test yourself. How many times is a form of Time mentioned in Parshat Eikev? The answer is about every third Verse mentions a form of Time. In Some Verses a measurement of Time is mentioned up to four times. My goal to heighten our awareness aware of Time in The Holy Scriptures.

In so doing we are going to take a look at SOME the different usages for the Word יוֹם Yohm, meaning Day in The Holy Scriptures. I want the reader to memorize The Word יוֹם Yohm. My intention is to share a number of spelling variations for The Word Yohm in this Parshat. You will be surprised. God Willing, we will do this in the lesson summary at the end of the discussion.

There are 111 Verses in Parshat Eikve.

At That Time

The Word עֵת Ayt means 'Time'. בָּעֵת Baw Ayt means 'In Time, On Time, At Time Through Time, With Time'. The best translation for Verse 23 is 'At That Time.' We will go with this translation. The Word עֵת Ayt occurs 73 times and בָּעֵת Baw Ayt occurs 90 times in The Hebrew Scriptures. The difference between עֵת Ayt and בָּעֵת Baw Ayt is The Letter בּ Bet. The Bet makes The Word עֵת Ayt 'A Point In Time.' This means we are to classify בָּעֵת Baw Ayt as a definite place in time. When Moses Says בָּעֵת Baw Ayt, he is making reference to a specific place in Time. Our goal is to try and determine what that place in time is. We will first view The Verse then we will determine The Year.

Devarim 3.23

וָאֶתְחַנַּן אֶל־יְהוָֹה בָּעֵת הַהִוא לֵאמֹר: כד

Deuteronomy 3.23

And I pleaded with The Lord at that time, saying,

What was 'At that Time'? We will need to backtrack in Time to determine what 'At That Time' is in reference to. We begin with the Seventh Day of Miriam's affliction for speaking evil against Moses. Miriam spoke Loshon Hara against Moses. The Lord Called her out if front of all The People of Israel and rebuked her. She was placed outside of the camp for Seven Days. This was the Seventh Day. Miriam was allowed to return to the camp. It was on That Day that Moses sent the 12 spies into the Land of Canaan.

29 Sivan 2449 FC

The spies left the encampment at Paran one year and 74 Days from being delivered from Egypt by the Lord. It is necessary for me to make a distinction. If one studies the 2016 Bible Journeys Calendar, they will Observe several important Time points. In the first year 2448 FC [From Creation] on this specific Day Moses was in Day Twenty-Two of receiving the first set of Tablets on Mt. Sinai. Our point inTime is the following year. We are 74 Days into in Year 2449 FC. [16 Days in Nissan + 29 Days in Iyar + 29 Days in Sivan = 74 Days]

Numbers 13.1 - 3

And The Lord Spoke to Moses, Saying, 'Send for yourself men, and have them scout everything from Aleph to Tav of the land of Canaan, which I am Giving to the people of Israel; Send them, one great man from each of his father's tribes. Each must be a leader among them. And Moses sent them from the desert of Paran on The Word of The Lord. All were men of distinction, They were chiefs of the People of Israel.'

Those who study with me know that I often include The Words 'everything from Aleph to Tav.' when the Word אֶת Eht is used. The Word אֶת eht occurs thousands of times in The Holy Scriptures for a reason. Many times the reason is to inform us of the inclusiveness of what is being said. The point is that nothing is left out. Everything is included. Chagigah 12b 1 - The Bahir (Row man & Littlefield Publishers, Inc. Lanham, Maryland 1995) pp. 108,109

Every Tribe sent a represenative except for the Tribe of Levi. Numbers 13.4-16 lists the leaders from each Tribe. The Levites believed The Word of The Lord. They did not need to spy out The Land.

09 Av 2449

The Spies return after Forty Days of spying out The Land of Canaan.

Ten of the twelve spies presented an evil report to B'nei Yisroel. Then B'nei Yisroel rebelled against The Lord. Due to our parents rebellion The People of Israel were not permitted to enter the Promised Land.

Numbers 13.26 - 27

And they returned from searching The Land after Forty Days. And they came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of B'nei Yisroel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. And they told him and said, We came to the land where you sent us, and surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

Numbers 13.28-29

However, the people, who inhabit the land, are strong, and the cities are very greatly fortified [with walls] and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the southern part of the land; and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the side of the Jordan.

Ten leaders expressed serious concerns about the people who dwelt in the land. They said, 'The land truly flows with milk and honey.' Look at the magnificent fruit. However, there are some very scary people who occupy the land.

Numbers 13.29

And Caleb silenced everything from Aleph to Tav of The People and confidently said to Moses, We can go up and consume them. For we more than measure up, we are capable of doing it!

Caleb, was General of the Army of Yisroel. He assured The People of Israel that they were more than capable of defeating the enemy. Then the spies representing Ten of Yisroel's Tribes chimed in. They had a different opinion. How qualified was their opinion? Were they battle tested like Joshua?

Numbers 13. 30

But the men who went up with him said, We are not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they spread slander about The Land which they had spied to B'nei Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to spy, is A Land that consumes its inhabitants; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw everything from Aleph to Tav of the Giants, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim; and we were in our sight as grasshoppers, and so were we in their sight.

In our age we have terms that describe different mental conditions. What do you think? Is it possible that all of The People had PTSD Post Thematic Stress Disorder resulting from their slavery and brutal treatment in Egypt? B'nai Yisroel went through a number of hardships due to being captive. Do you think they may have had Stockholm Syndrome? Were they brainwashed by their captors? What type of individual, family, group and community issues were each dealing with? We can imagine.

I ask these questions because of how quickly B'nei Yisroel turned away from The Lord. From time to time, it seems like B'nei Israel snaps instead of doing what they should.

We notice that there is a difference of opinion between Joshua, Caleb and the other spies. Having differences of opinion among B'nei Yisroel is not unusual. It's what we do with our opinions that makes the difference. The Ten spies predetermined that B'nei Yisroel were 'not able to go up against the people' because in their opinion the inhabitants were stronger than B'nei Yisroel. The spies described how small they were in comparison to the giants who were descendants of the fallen / the sons of Anak. The Ten spies compared themselves to grasshoppers next to the giants. They frightened B'nei Yisroel.

The Ten spies spread slander against the Promised Land. וַיֹּצִיאוּ דִּבַּת הָאָרֶץ 'They brought forth a report on The Land.' They said, 'The Land consumes its inhabitants.' This was a lie and part of their evil report. Our Sages Teach they witnessed many funerals while spying out the Land. There were so many people dying that the spies went unnoticed. This was Divine Providence working in their behalf but instead of taking this point of view Ten of the Leaders interpreted this as The Land consumed its inhabitants. They spoke evil about the land. Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Stone Edition The Chumash (Mesorah Publications, Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. 1993), p 803

The Ten spies were respected leaders among B'nei Yisroel who agreed to speak evil regarding the Land of Canaan. What they did was wrong yet this shows us the impact ten important leaders had on The People of Israel. When we, B'nei Yisroel, unite we can do amazing things!

B'nei Yisroel rebelled based on the report of these These Ten well respected spies.

So when we speak of the Words 'At That Time'. Could it be a point of reference to The Time B'nei Israel united for the wrong reasons?

Bamidbar 14.1

וַתִּשָּׂא כָּל־הָעֵדָה וַיִּתְּנוּ אֶת־קוֹלָם וַיִּבְכּוּ הָעָם בַּלַּיְלָה הַהוּא: ב

Numbers 14.1

[ת - SIGN] And the entire community [except The Tribe of Levi] lifted up everything from Aleph to Tav of their voice and cried and wept through the night.

בָּעֵת

Baw Ayt / At That Time

ב2 ע70 ת400 = 472

בְּכִיתֶם

Bih Cee Tehm / They weep

ב2 כ20 י10 ת400 ם40 = 472

We Observe the Mystical connection to 'At That Time' as 'Weeping'. Is this what Moses was making reference to when he wrote 'At That Time'? It is a piece of the picture as we shall see.

I cannot emphasize how significant the Words of Verse One are. First the Verse begins with וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw meaning 'And to lift up' Normally The Letter ת Tav is not part of this Word.

In the past, I have written about paying close attention to The Letter ת Tav. The Letter ת Tav is a mystical Letter. When The Letter ת Tav appears as it does here The ת Tav is a sign to pay attention and to mine for additional meaning. Normally the first Word in Verse One would be נָשָׂא Naw Saw, meaning 'to Lift up'. However, The Word is וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw. The Letter נ Nun is replaced by The Letter ת Tav. We must determine what the purpose is for replacing The Letter נ with The Letter ת Tav. Could it be that this is what Moses was making reference to when he said, 'At That Time'? Was The Letter ת Tav what Moses was referring to?

The root Word for וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw has different meanings. Here we need to pay attention to the other meanings as well. Each Word uses the same Letters. The spelling is exactly the same. The only difference is with the Vowels. נִשָא Nee Saw means 'to be misled or to be deceived'. Lets review.

First, וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw meaning 'And to lift up'

Second, The Root Word is נָשָׂא Naw Saw, meaning 'to Lift up.'

Third, The Letter נ Nun in נָשָׂא Naw Saw was replaced by The Letter ת Tav. [ תִּשָּׂא] The Letter ו Vav of וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw is a connecting Letter that means 'and'.

Fourth, The Letter The ת Tav is a sign to pay attention and to mine for additional meaning.

Notice the meaning in the Two Words following וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw. כָּל־הָעֵדָה Cawl - Haw Ay Dawh means 'All the community' or 'All the witnesses'. All the Community includes members of The Sanhedrin and The Seventy Elders. The Sanhedrin were the Jewish Judges of The High Court. They were convinced that Moses and Aaron misled them. Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Stone Edition The Chumash (Mesorah Publications, Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. 1993), p. 803 All The Judges and The Seventy Elders of B'nei Yisroel raised their voices and shouted. Rabbi Menachem M. Scheerson, Torah Chumash Shemot Kehot Publication Society (Brooklyn, NY 2006) p 86 B'nei Yisroel followed the lead of the High Court. They cried and wept through the night just as their leaders did.

Numbers 14.2

They murmured against Moses and Aaron; All of B'nei Yisroel [except The Tribe of Levi] and the all the Community [except The Tribe of Levi] said to them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! Would God we had died in this wilderness!

We need to take a minute to exeronate The Tribe of Levi who consistently took the high ground when B'nei Yisroel had issues. The Levites did not sin with the golden calf. Nor did they sin with B'nei Yisroel in the matter of the spies evil report. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says Bamidbar (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), pp 157; 180, Rabbi Dr. H. Freedman, Midrash Rabba Babmidbar (New York, NY: The Soncino Press 1983) - Midrash Rabbah p 72 [br 3.5] - Rabbi Menachem M. Scheerson, Torah Chumash Shemot Kehot Publication Socierty (Brooklyn, NY 2006) p 253

The Midrash Says the Sanhedrin complained to Moses saying, We accept the decree of death but should we die at the hand of these idolaters in Eretz Canaan? It would have been better to have died in Egypt or to have passed away here in the wilderness. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says Bamidbar (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p 170 How did The Lord Respond? 'It shall be as you wish'. How was The Word of The Lord fulfilled? Every Erev Tish B'Av Moses would say to the men of war, those who rebelled against The Lord and those who were decreed to die during these Forty Years 'Dig A grave for yourself.' Each man dug a grave for himself and rested that night in the grave. Those who reached the age of sixty would pass away during the night of weeping. This was about 15,000 every year. 570,000 of the 600,000 men who were between 20 to 60 passed away like this each year. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says Bamidbar (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p 170

Can we imagine what it was like for the wives, children, relatives and friends of those decreed to die in The Wilderness each year as the night of weeping approached? What was it like for The Judges of The SanhedrinIs who spoke the Words 'let us die here in The Wilderness'? What was it like for them knowing these men were dying because of their unjust faithfulness ruling? What was it like for B'nei yisroel each year as 9 Av approached? What did it feel like watching thousands upon thousands of graves being dug? How did this impact The People of Israel? We have already discussed the Mystical connection of 'At That Time' to weeping on the eve of 9 Av. How did the community of Yisroel feel knowing it was their Judges that spoke the words 'Let us die in The Wilderness.? We should ask ourselves, how would I feel if I were one of the men between Twenty to Sixty that refused to fight for the Holy Land and who rebelled? What if I were one of the men that mummered and complained against the Lord? What if I were one of the men that said I wanted to return to Egypt, i.e. the idolatrous practices of Egypt. The ladies did not die because they remained faithful to The Lord quietly within their tents. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says Bamidbar (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p 180

The Sanhedrin and The Seventy Elders lead the Community in this very emotionally charged rebellion against Moses and Aaron. They exclaimed:

Numbers 14.3

And why has The Lord brought us to This Land, to fall by the sword so that our wives and our children should become prey? Would it not be better for us to return into Egypt?

Up until this point according to our Sages The Sanhedrin and The Seventy Elders participated in the rebellion.

Numbers 14.1

- כָּל־הָעֵדָה Cawl - Haw Ay Daw meaning All the Community / Congregation or All the Witnesses. The Sanhedrin and The Seventy Elders are included.

Numbers 14.2

- כֹּל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל Kol - B'nei Yisroel meaning All of The People of Israel

כָּל־הָעֵדָה Kawl - Haw Ay Daw meaning All the Community / Congregation

Numbers 14.4

And the men said one to another, 'Let us appoint a chief, and let us return to Egypt.'

Numbers 14.10

וַיֹּאמְרוּ כָּל־הָעֵדָה לִרְגּוֹם אֹתָם - And The Entire Congregation Said 'Stone Them refering to Joshua and Caleb.'

Who has the authority to make such a decision? Who has the authority to appoint a leader over B'nei Yisroel?

It is very important for us to remember that Lord Requires faithfulness from His People. We depend on our Leadership to help us stay on the right course. What happened here? In Deuteronomy 1.32 Moses said that at that time The People did not Trust The Lord their God. Why did our relatives of Years past fail to trust The Lord after all the Miracles He preformed? Why was B'nei Yisroel so willing to turn away from The Lord? We continue to read the extent of how distant B'nei Yisroel were willing to go in their rebellion to The Lord.

Numbers 14.5 - 6

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of The People of Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of those who spied the land, tore their clothes;

We see ONLY four men speaking up for The Lord and The Land of Canaan. The Sanhedrin and the Seventy Elders did not step up. They did not join them. Was this the Time Moses was speaking of when he said 'At That Time?

Numbers 14.7 - 9

And they spoke to all the Congregation of The People of Israel, saying, 'The land, which we passed through to spy, is a very good land. If the Lord Desires us to have it, then He Will Bring us into this Land, and Give it to us; a Land which flows with milk and honey. However, do not rebel against The Lord and do not fear the people of the land; for they are as bread for us; their protection is removed from them, and The Lord is with us; do not be afraid of them.

Numbers 14.10

The entire community said that they should be stoned to death, [but just then] The Glory of The Lord Appeared in The Tent of Meeting before all The People of Israel.

Not any man has the authority to pass judgment on his fellow man. Who has the authority to judge? Who has the authority to pass judgment on stoning a guilty individual? Again we see The Sanhedrin's involvement in this rebellion.

The Sanhedrin felt like Moses and Aharon had deceived them. They felt like Moses and Aharon had mislead them. I have already shown that The Root Word for וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw has different meanings. We know that The Root Word for וַתִּשָּׂא Vah - Tee Shaw is נָשָׂא Naw Saw, meaning 'to Lift up', Notice that נִשָא Nee Saw which is spelled exactly the same means 'to be misled or to be deceived'. We realize that the Judges of The High Court felt like Moses and Aaron had deceived them. How did they come to this opinion? The Ten Spies spread malicious gossip about The Land and it's inhabitants. Bamidbar Rabah 9.18 - Was this what Moses spoke of when he said 'At That Time'?

Now The Lord Appears to set the record straight. Moses and Aaron fail to the gound and began interceding for The People of Israel. Think about what is happening 'At That Time! All The People of Israel are angry with Moses and Aharon. They are making plans to return to Egypt, appoint a new Chief over them and to stone Joshua and Caleb. So where is Moses? He is bowed to the earth praying that The Lord would Forgive all B'nai Yisroel. See Numbers 14.11 -19. What a leader! The Lord does Forgives B'nei Yisroel but Prohibits those who sinned from entering The Land of Canaan.

Numbers 14.20 - 24

And the Lord Said, I have pardoned according to your word; However, as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. All those men which have seen everything from Aleph to Tav of My Glory, and My Miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the desert, and still have tested Me these ten times, and they have not listened to My voice; Surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of them who provoked me see it; except for My servant Caleb, because he possed a different spirit with him, and has followed me fully. I shall bring him into the land to which he came; and his seed shall possess it.

B'nei Yisroel's rebellion resulted in the establishment of a Time / a Season for mourning. The High Court Ruled against Moses and Aharon. Their actions had reprecutions!! The actions of The Sanhedrin mislead The People of Israel. Their authority set in motion a day of great sadness and mourning that is incumbent upon each of us. Who wants to fast for Twenty-Six hours? Who wants to fast from sundown to sundown. Who wants to mourn? Yet, fasting and mourning are absolutely necessary to remind us to be very careful with those who lead us and for us who follow them. It is incumbent upon each of us to learn and to know each of the 613 Mitzvot of Ha Torah so that we can judge for our self what is the proper path to take. We must determine what is the correct course of action!

Numbers 14.22 - 23 makes it very clear that the men of B'nei Yisroel tested The Lord Ten times. They were Judged for repeated offences. The Lord was Gracious and Merciful and Forgiving time and again as the offences pilled one upon the other. A picture should be beginning to emerge with regards to the Words 'At That Time'.

Dear Ones, just Forty Days earlier Miriam was permitted to rejoin the camp of Israel after being separated for Seven Days. Remember, The Lord Descended in a pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance to The Tent of Meetings. The Lord Called to Aharon and Miriam. They appeared before The Lord. The Lord Spoke to them in the presence of all Israel. What did The Lord Say?

Numbers 13.6 - 10

And He Said, 'Listen to My Words; If there is a Prophet among you, I, The Lord Will Make Myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream. That is not the case with My servant Moses, in all My House for he is the trusted one. I Speak mouth to mouth with him, in a vision, and not in riddles; and he gazes at the Likeness of The Lord, so why were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? And The Lord's Anger was kindled against them; and He Departed. And The Cloud Departed from atop The Tent; and, behold! Miriam had become leprous, white as snow; and Aharon looked towards Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

The incident with The Prophetesses Miriam was meant to be a lesson for each of us. Miriam was set outside of the encampment for Seven Days. All The People of Israel knew. The Sanhedrin knew. The Seventy Elders knew. All The People of Israel knew. The punishment of Miriam should have been fresh in their minds. Everyone should have remembered how The Lord Appeared in The Cloud and why The Prophetesses Miriam became leprous and was separated from the encampment. How quickly we forget!

The actions of The Sanhedrin and The Seventy Elders were much more grievous than Miriam's in leading B'nei Yisroel to sin. We remember our failings and the failings of those who sinned on 9 Av. The failings of The Sanhedrin and B'nei Yisroel were not just for One Day. They are for The same Day each Year, Year after Year. Is this what Moses spoke of when he said 'At That Time'? Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Stone Edition The Chumash (Mesorah Publications, Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. 1993), p. 803 - Rabbi Menachem M. Scheerson, Torah Chumash Shemot Kehot Publication Socierty (Brooklyn, NY 2006) p 86 - Metsudah Midrash Tanchuma Bereishis 1

Avrohom Davis, Metsudah Midrash Tanchuma Bereishis 1 (Monsey, NY Eastern Book Press Inc. 2006) pp 296 - 297 - Rabbi Avrohom Davis, The Mesudah Chumash A New Linear Translation Bereishis (Hoboken New Jersey, KTVA Publishing House, Inc., 1991) p 178

Numbers 14.29 - 32

Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were counted of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against me, Shall by no means come into the land, concerning which I swore to make you live in it, save Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun, [and The Tribe of Levi]. But your little ones, which you said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know The Land, which you have despised. But as for you, your carcasses, they shall fall in this wilderness.

Numbers 14.33

And your children shall wander in the wilderness Forty Years, and bear your backslidings, until your carcasses are wasted in the desert. According to the number of The Days in which you spied the land, Forty Days, each Day for a Year, shall you bear your iniquities, Forty Years, and you shall know My Displeasure. I the Lord have said, I will surely do it all to this evil congregation, who are gathered together against me; in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die. And the men, which Moses sent to spy the land, who returned, and caused all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land, Those men that brought up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the Lord.

Some Teach that The Lord Instructed Moses to have The People of Israel travel to the Sea of Reeds. They base this on Numbers 14.25. I reviewed the original Language of Numbers 14.25 and do not see anything that Instructs B'nei Yisroel to travel to or to return to the Sea of Reeds. Numbers 14.25 ONLY instructs B'nei Yisroel to change the direction of the encampment from facing The Land of Israel to facing the wilderness and the path leading to the Sea of Reeds.

Numbers 14.25.

The Amalekites and the Canaanites live in the valley. Tomorrow you are to move and face the wilderness path towards the Sea of Reeds.

10 Av 2449

This is very significant because B'nei Yisroel did not travel anywhere. They remained in this location for 19 years. Rabbi Menachem M. Scheerson, Torah Chumash Shemot Kehot Publication Society (Brooklyn, NY 2006) p 89 Yet, The Holy Scriptures notes them turning the direction of the camp without traveling. Why? This is an exact point of measurement in time. The 38 years of Deuteronomy 2.14 is based upon the Day The Camp Turned their camp direction towards the wilderness towards the Sea of Reeds. The intent of The Words 'At That Time' are based upon what happened then and each year on the same Day since.

This Day was the Day following the rebellion. This is The Day they went up the mountain to fight the Amalekites and Canaanites. They were crushed! See Deuteronomy Chapter One. The last Verse in Deuteronomy Chapter One shares a very important nugget of Time with us.

Devarim 1.46

: וַתֵּשְׁבוּ בְקָדֵשׁ יָמִים רַבִּים כַּיָּמִים אֲשֶׁר יְשַׁבְתֶּם

Deuteronomy 1.46

[ת - SIGN] So you abode in Kadesh many Days, [Years] like the days [Years] you lived there [elsewhere].

Again The Letter ת Tav appears in the Word וַתֵּשְׁבוּ to inform us to give a diligent search for in depth meaning. The intent is for us to discover that B'nei Yisroel dwelt in Kadesh for 19 years and wandered for 19 years. Ha Torah Informs us that the Time they dwelt was like the number of years when they wandered.

10 Av 2487 FC

Deuteronomy 2.14

And the Days from our leaving Kadesh-Barnea, until we came over the brook Zered, was thirty-eight years; until all the generation of the men of war had perished from the camp, as the Lord swore to them.

The Thirty-Eight Years were measured to the exact Day which was The Day after the 9th of Av. Remember that it was on the 9th of Av that the spies returned. Ten spies shared an evil report. B'nei Yisroel rebellied. This was Thirty-Eight Years from the next day. In addition to the text presented thus far Holy Scripture Informs us 'all the generation of the men of war had perished from the camp'. On The Eighth of Av the remaining men of war, about 15,000 dug their graves for the final time knowing they were the only ones left from the original 600,000 men of that generation. That night each of the remaining men of war perished from the Camp of B'nei Yisroel. The following morning was 10th of Av 2487 FC.

After the last man of war died It was 'At That Time' The Word of The Lord was fulfilled. 'all the generation of the men of war had perished from the camp, as the Lord swore to them.'

After the last man of war had died, Yisroel was divested of them. Their children were trained for war. They were ready to defeat Sicon and Og. 'At That Time' is in reference to the final Day of the completion of the thirty-Eight Years in which The people who rebelled died.

There are Two Gematrias relating to The Number Thirty-Eight.

הָאֵבֶל

Haw Ay Vehl / The mourning The Lamenting

ה5 א1 ב2 ל30 = 38

Each Year on the 9th of Av during the Thirty-Eight Year span of Judgment on those men who rebelled there was a great deal of mourning and lamenting as thousands died year after year. There was great bemoaning, bewailing, weeping and sadness as B'nei Yisroel revisited the 9th of Av each year.

יִבְכּוּ

Yee Vih Coo / To Mourn To Weep To Bewail

י10 ב2 צ20 ו6 = 38

1 Nissan 2487 FC

B'nei Yisroel arrives at Kodesh at the border to Edom.

10 Nissan 2487 FC

Miriam the sister of Moses and Aharon dies in a gentle, tranquil manner. It was like a kiss from The Creator. Miriam was buried there.

1 Av 2487 FC - Aharon Dies on Mt Hor - Numbers 33.38 - 39

30 Av 2487 FC - B'nei Yisroel 30 Days of Mourning for Aharon ends. - Numbers 20.29

B'nei Yisroel defeated Sicon and Og. Moses.

7 Adar 2448 FC Moses our Teacher dies.

Time

Dear Ones, our goal in this discussion, is to help us make a connection with The Letter מ Mem [normal] ם [final] to learning. The Mem is a middle Letter of The Aleph Bet. The normal sign [Gematria] of The Letter Mem is 40. The final sign of The Mem is 600. The only time the final Mem may be used is when The Mem is the final Letter in a Word. The Letter Mem is one of two Hebrew Letters that makes a complete 360-degree circle. When the final Letter Mem was written in the Two Tablets by The Lord The Mem was suspended in air without touching or connecting to the Two Tablets. The Lord Made The Mem stood in place without falling. The Letter Mem is an eternal Letter. The Mem does not have a beginning or end. In addition to the Words we are going to study מֹשֶׁה Moses and מְשִׁיחַ Moshiach / Messiah each begin with The Letter Mem.

In addition to learning about the Letter Mem and associated Gematrias, we will God Willing consider elements of time-related to Moses our Teacher and The People of Israel. We will Observe the wisdom in Time. It is written. We will Observe perhaps one or two picture frames in the movie of Time. King Solomon wrote, 'To everything there is a season and time to every purpose under the heaven.' We will examine several points in time that are woven together into a special purpose.

Deuteronomy 1.1 - 3

These are the words which Moses shared with all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah opposite the Red Sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

There are eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-Barnea.

And it happened in Year Forty in Month Eleven, in Day One to the Month that Moses shared with the people of Israel, about every Command that The Lord Said to him with them.

The People of Israel left Egypt in the year 2448 FC in Month One in Day Fifteen. That was a long time ago. Ha Torah Says it was almost Forty complete years. The People of Israel had not completed Year Forty. There were 30 days left in Month Eleven and 29 Days left in Month Twelve. They were 59 days from completing Year Forty.

Moses was 37 Days away from turning 120 years of age. Moses would die in 37 Days on his Birthday. Our Sages Teach that Moses was in Mitzrim 40 years, In Midian 40 years and in the Midbar 40 Years.

Mitzrim / Egypt

מִצְרָיִם

מ40 צ90 ר200 י10 נם40 = 380

Midian

מִדְיָן

מ40 ד4 י10 ן50 = 104

Wilderness

מִּדְבָּר

מ40 ד4 ב2 ר200 = 246

Our Sages Teach that Moses spent 40 Years in Mitzrim, 40 Years in Midian and 40 Years in Midbar. 120 = 40 + 40 + 40

The 2016 Bible Journeys Calendar will be released God Willing soon. In the calendar, I share about Moses simultaneous three Forty Day and Night fasts. Moses fasts from the Day he receives Ha Torah, The Commandments and The Covenant to Yom Kipper, which is the day of atonement. . Moses fasted three forty day periods one after the other plus the day before and the in between days. Our Sages Teach this is a total of between 122 to 123 days. The Seventh of Sivan is not counted. This is the Day Moses climbed Mt Sinai to receive the Commandments. The Day Moses prepares the second set of Tablets was 29 Av. This Day was not included in the fast days. So how can 122 days be 123 days? The question is, did Moses Fast on 6 Sivan, the preparation Day? Our Sages Teach Moses was very busy helping The People prepare to receive Ha Torah. Did Moses eat a Sabbath meal that night? It is not likely given Moses understanding of purity. It is likely that Moses fasted to be in a state of readiness to receive Ha Torah. Why is this such an important question?

Numbers 33.39

And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

One-Hundred-Twenty-Three Days ties Aharon, The High Priest to Shavuot and Yom Kippur. In other Words The High Priest that makes atonement is a bridge spanning between receiving Ha Torah to the Day he seeks forgiveness for The People of Israel.

Fast One

Exodus 24.16 - Fast one from Sivan 7 to 17 Tammuz. The 17th of Tammuz is when the Roman soldiers breached the Holy City in their conquest to destroy our Second Holy Temple in 3830 FC. Rabbi Nachman Zakon, The Jewish Experience 2,000 Years Shaar Press (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 2003), p 11

Exodus 32.15 - 19

And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tablets of The Testimony were in his hand; the tablets were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. And The Tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved upon The Tablets. And when Joshua heard the noise of The People as they shouted, he said to Moses, There is a sound like war in the camp. And He Said, It is not the voice of those who shout for mastery, nor is it the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the sound of those who sing do I hear. And it came to pass, as soon as He came near to the camp, that He Saw the calf, and the dancing; and Moses' anger burned hot, and he threw The Tablets from his hands, and broke them beneath the mount.

Fast Two

Exodus 32.29 - 35

For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to the Lord, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day. And it came to pass on the next day, that Moses said to the people, You have sinned a great sin, and now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I shall make an atonement for your sin. And Moses returned to the Lord and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Now, if you will forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I beg you, from your book that you have written. And the Lord said to Moses, Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot from my book. Therefore now go, lead the people to the place about which I have spoken to you; behold, my Angel shall go before you; nevertheless in the day when I punish I will punish their sin upon them. And the Lord plagued the people because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

How do we know this second fast was for 40 days? Deuteronomy 9. 12- 18

We know this because in Verse twelve Moses received The Tablets when The Lord Informed him of The People's sin. Then he went down to them. Then he broke the Tablets. Then the next Day He returns to pray on Mt Sinai.

Deuteronomy 9.11 - 12

And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that The Lord Gave me The Two Tablets of Stone, The Tablets of The Covenant. And The Lord Said to me, Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people, which you have brought out of Egypt, have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside from the way which I Commanded them; they have made themselves a molten image.

How do we know Moses second Fast followed the first? How do we know the second Fast was also for Forty Days and Nights?

Deuteronomy 9.15 - 19

So I turned and came down from The Mount, and The Mount Burned with fire; and The Two Tablets of the covenant were in my two hands. And I looked, and, behold, you had sinned against the Lord your God, and had made yourselves a molten calf; you had turned aside quickly from the way which the Lord Had Commanded you. And I took The Two Tablets, and threw them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes. And I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I did not eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which you sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger. For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, with which the Lord was angry with you to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me at that time also.

The Third 40 Day and Night fast follow the first two fasts.

Deuteronomy 10.10 - 11

And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the Lord listened to me at that time also, and the Lord would not destroy you.   And the Lord said to me, Arise, go on your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give to them.

120 Days and Nights = 40 Days and Nights + 40 Days and Night + 40 Days and Nights

Within the Community of The People of Israel, there are some who pray each day each morning, afternoon and night. Some also pray at the mid of Night. The morning prayers maybe thirty minutes or longer on average. Afternoon prayers are perhaps fifteen minutes. Evening prayers are about twenty minutes. These are on normal Days. The Elul, Month leading up to Rosh HaShannah prayer time increases significantly. Then on Rosh HaShannah morning prayers may last from eight am to three in the afternoon. On Yom Kippur, we fast from one night to the next night that is about twenty-six hours. On Erev Yom Kippur at Kol Nidre about three hours. On Yom Kippur, we pray from early morning to night. It is understandable that one might be a little weary.

What about Moses. He did not just fast One Day and Night. Moses fasted for about 123 Days and Nights. Moses bowed down, prayed and interceded for The People of Israel during the middle Forty Days and Nights. The greatness of Moses is a challenging connection for us. I can relate to a tiny portion of what Moses experienced. What about you?

When we say 'In the Wilderness' the Word is Bamidbar.

בַּמִּדְבָּר

ב2 מ40 ד4 ב2 ר200 = 248

The positive Observances of Ha Torah are 248. The organs in our body are 248.

We see a relationship between the being in the wilderness, the positive Commands of Ha Torah and the organs of our body.

Devarim 1.3 is informing us that the wilderness experience is coming to an end in 59 days. Moses Leadership and hands on Teaching is coming to an end in 37 Days. The Lord Has Moses revisit the Observances with The People of Israel. Think of how that felt for Moses. He would die. He would not enter the Land with his people. The people who were taught Ha Torah at Moses' feet were already feeling the loss of their Great Teacher.

1.Solomon wrote, 'There is a time to every purpose under the heaven.' Exploring to learn the purpose is a deep Torah adventure. One point in this lesson is to teach us to search for the purpose related to time and seasons. Do we stop to consider the great significance of points in Time within The Holy Scriptures?

2. How is The Festival Season of Shavuot in which Ha Torah, the Commandments, and the covenant were given to the People connected through Moses to Yom Kipper, the Season for Atonement?

3. How is the Letter Mem related to Moses Life?

The Sefirah Week 2

Counting the Omer is a Mitzvot. We are Commanded by The Lord God to count the Omer each year following the day of Passover. Our Sages Teach that one of the many purposes for counting the Omer for forty-nine days is because The People of Israel had fallen to the forty-ninth level of impurity. The purpose of counting the Omer is for us as a people to rise out of our impurity to receive Ha Torah on the fiftieth day.

חֶסֶד שְׁבִּגְבוּרָה

Lovingkindness Restores Strength

Love is the foundation and motivation for Strength. Gevurah without love has no foundation. Love is NOT a crutch of tolerance for improper actions. Loving kindness is the reverse. Lovingkindness guides one's discipline. When discipline is necessary. Lovingkindness is required in the training / teaching of modesty, ethics, middot and proper appropriate actions. Without Lovingkindness discipline is only viewed as punishment.

A principle in Judaism is Lovingkindness. Rabbi Hillel, Head of the Sanhedrin was asked by a Noachide to summarize, the 613 Observances of Ha Torah. Rabbi Hillel Said, Whatever you consider to be hateful do not that to your fellow man. This is the whole of Ha Torah; the rest is mere commentary Sabbath 31a. Through these words, Hillel expressed a foundation stone within Ha Torah. Moral law requires the Biblical precept of brotherly love.

Leviticus 19.18

You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.

גְּבוּרָה שֶׁבִּגְבוּרָה

Strength restores Strength

Before we can understand how Strength Restores Strength we must first comprehend and accept the Biblical principle of brotherly love. For Strength to properly restore or return, Strength, Lovingkindness must be present. Just as one is required to love their neighbor as they would themselves one is required to discipline themselves with love and our neighbor with love. Each of our lives requires self-restraint. We understand we must place boundaries that discipline our actions. In this same vein, one acknowledges responsibilities that MUST be kept. Keeping responsibilities that we do not enjoy or detest requires discipline. This is where Strength restores Strength.

גְּבוּרָה Gevurah is very powerful. Gevurah must be used with caution and in limited measure. The Gematria of Gevurah is 216. The Gematria of יָרֵאָה Yaw Ray Awh Fear... Reverence... Terror... Dread... Awe... is also 216.

גבורה

Gevurah / Strength

ג3 ב2 ו ר20606 ה5 = 216

יראה

Yaw Ray Awh

תִּפְאֶרֶת שֶׁבִּגְבוּרָה

Beauty Restores Strength

תִּפְאֶרֶת Tiferet / Beauty... Glory... Magnificence... Grandeur... Honor are each between Chesed / Lovingkindness and Gevurah / Strength. Beauty can only be accomplished when there is Honor between both Strength and Kindness. Glory, Grandeur and Magnificence are accomplished when Strength and Kindness operate Spiritually as directed in Ha Torah, i.e. in complete cooperation. They find balance and harmony.

נֶצַח שֶׁבִּגְבוּרָה

Endurance Restores Strength

Simply put when the balance between Strength and Kindness operates properly this causes the נֶצַח Endurance of Strength. נֶצַח Netzach, often requires tenacious balancing and rebalancing of Strength and Kindness thus maintaining the beauty that is enduring.

הוֹד שֶׁבִּגְבוּרָה

Humility Restores Strength

הוֹד / Hod is the capsulation of Lovingkindness, Strength, Beauty, and Endurance. The balance and harmony of these four are the foundations for Hod. Hod is the absence of arrogance. Hod is selflessness. Hod is absent of human bias.

יסוֹד שֶׁבִּגְבוּרָה

Bonding restores Strength

How difficult is it bonding with a humble, loving, kind, strong, beautiful individual who endures trials by being flexible? When an individual disciplines theirself a great deal more than others as discussed in Gevurah, we see and feel the strength that creates the atmosphere for bonding. Certain individuals bond well with others. Why?

מַלְכוּת שֶׁבִּגְבוּרָה

Kingdom restores Strength

מַלְכוּת / Malkhut is the very base for each of the other six steps of Gevurah. We must work from our heart of Lovingkindness and strength towards the Royalty of Malkhut / Kingdom. One accomplishes Royalty through self-restraint and giving of one's self. This type of dignity is not the power to take but the power to give. Royalty like this comes from the honor one gives to others.

We honor the Lord God. The Lord God is King, Creator, and Master Over All! How can Royalty rise higher than Humility? It is exactly the opposite. Royalty results from greater humility. We turn to Moshe as an example. Moshe greatness resulted in part because he was humble.

Exodus 19.1 - 6

In the third month, when The People of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. For they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the desert of Sinai, and had camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount. And Moses went up to God, and The Lord Called to him from The Mountain, Saying, You shall say this to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel; 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I carried you on eagles wings, and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will obey My Voice indeed, and keep My Covenant, then you shall be My own treasure among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine; And you shall be to Me a Kingdom of Priests, and a Holy Nation. These are the words which you shall speak to The People of Israel.

Shemot 19.6

We are instructed to Obey The Lord's Voice and to Observe His Covenant. Doing these will make us The Lord's Treasure among all peoples of the earth and we will be a Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation to The Lord.

Priests are royalty. Think about what priests do?

As In The Days Of Noah, REALLY!

In my book God's Plan From The Beginning, I share this story. A few years back the Revi and I were on an interstate traveling. Our auto began to shiver and shake. The car would slow down then speed up. We were frightened. We were worried. We began to pray. The nearest average size town was over 50 miles away. Our car was over 15 years old. We tried to keep it up. We spent over $1,500 on maintenance and repairs in the preceding months. Regardless of our dedicated maintenance efforts our car was nearing the end. We knew this. Little did we know this would be the day when we said the traveler's prayer that morning. As we prayed, our car chugged a few times like a charging dog that would charge and stop then charge again. Our car slowed to perhaps 25 miles per hour on the interstate. The car chugged a couple more times then stopped running. We coasted to the side of the road. We were two seniors sitting in a broken down car at the side of the road. We checked to see if we had cell phone service. Revi called her son Anthony who is a mechanic. We knew we were in trouble. There was nothing he could do. He was willing to grab some tools, jump in his truck and drive to us immediately, but it would be hours before he could get to us. We are seniors, and we were very shaken by this incident. It was dangerous sitting at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. We asked The Creator to start our auto and allow us to make it to an exit ramp where we would feel safer. Revi turned the key. The car started. It would only go about 25 miles per hour. Thank God. The car chugged along for maybe a mile or two until we reached an off ramp. As we approached the stop sign at the top of the ramp, the car died. We were able to coast safely into the parking area of a gas station where we called a tow truck. When the tow truck driver arrived about an hour and a half later, he pointed out the oil trail our blown engine left on the pavement. He towed us to a dealership where we were able to make a deal for a new vehicle.

The salesman said our new auto would get about 26 miles per gallon in the city and about 30 miles per gallon on the highway. After the car had a few thousand miles, we began to check our in city driving and our highway driving. Why did we do this? It was to verify the accuracy of the salesman statement.

A while back I went for a walk. The route is a common walking route for neighbors. High school kids run this route after school. As I finished my walk, I was calculating the distance of the walk to be between 1.25 miles to 1.5 miles. At the end of the walk, I passed by a neighbor's house. The neighbor was outside. We talked a little while. My neighbor said that the route was a mile. Later I drove the route. Why did I do this? It was to verify the accuracy of my neighbor's statement.

There are some things we can verify if we choose to do so. I would like to ask you to verify everything I am about to share with you. Please check out the references. Please research every detail if you want to know The Truth.

Do you want to know if the Christian New Testament is really the Foreign Testament? Do you want to know if the Christian New Testament is Divinely Inspired? Do you want to know if Rabbi Jesus was truthful? Do you want to know if Rabbi Jesus spoke falsehoods? Do you want to know if Rabbi Jesus sinned? Do you want to know God's Plan From The Beginning?

Do you want to know the Truth?

Dear Reader we are going to do a VERY BASIC study that anyone can do. One does not have to be a scholar to know the Truth. Each of us can see... read... understand the text in this discussion.

In America, when an individual is a candidate for President of the United States of America they make many speeches. They travel in huge jets, on trains, on buses in limos, etc. and make speech after speech. Often what they say comes into question. Are they accurately stating the facts? Are they 100% truthful? Are they saying one thing here and something different somewhere else? Some business people began a website called factcheck.org. The purpose was to show when a candidate told The Truth from when they didn't. That is what our goal is here in Chapter 24 of Matthew. We are going to ask simply if Rabbi Jesus was Truthful or did Rabbi Jesus lie. You will be the jury. You will decide based upon the information provided.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Matthew 24:37

Matthew 24:27 Rabbi Jesus said, "For as lightning comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man be." Jesus also said that just "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For as [it was] in the days [of Noah] before the flood [the people then] were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." Matthew 24:37-39

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. Luke 17:26

People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:27

Rabbi Jesus went out, and departed from the Holy Temple: and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the Temple. And Rabbi Jesus said to them, 'Do you see you all these things? Verily I say to you, 'There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.' And as he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, asking,

'Tell us, when shall these things be? What shall be the sign of your coming? When will the end of the world be?' Matthew 24:3

Rabbi Jesus answered, 'Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am [the Messiah]; and shall deceive many. And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. Do not be troubled! All these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you ]the Jewish People] up to be afflicted, and shall kill you and you [the Jewish People] shall be hated by all nations for my name's sake. And then many of you shall be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come. Therefore, when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in The Holy Place, (whoever reads, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! Pray your your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath Day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is [here is the Messiah], or there; don't believe it. For there shall arise false [Messiah's], and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. [27] For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh: So likewise you will know when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing. Verily I say to you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he does look not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew states that Rabbi Jesus said the following: 'But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the Angels in the Heavens. Only my Father knows. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark. They did not know until the flood came and washed them all away, so it will happen the same way for the coming of the son of man.' Matthew 24:36-39.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man, Luke 17:26.

People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all, Luke 17:27.

As we consider these three quotes, we will discuss a variety of issues posed by these quotes. A number of questions immediately surface beyond the possible accuracy of what Matthew and Luke claim Rabbi Jesus said. Fortunately, we are blessed with additional sources to consider the historical evidence.

We can research what Rabbi Jesus said for accuracy. We are going to do this. It's not difficult to know the Truth!

One must research The Holy Scriptures to see if Rabbi Jesus is in agreement with what The Lord God Commanded. Study what happened in Noah's time. Determine if Rabbi Jesus comments are truthful. Research Rabbi Jesus comments. We should have some serious concerns about his claims.

I will prove NOTHING could be further from the truth. Why would a God of Love destroy a world where the inhabitants were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage? After all, The Lord God Commanded us to marry and to have children in Genesis.

Genesis 1.28

And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

God would not!! Our Creator said to Adam and Eve that they could eat from every tree in The Garden except the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil

Genesis 2.16-17

And the Lord God Commanded [Adam and Eve] Saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it; for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.

What is the point? Eating and drinking are not the issue. Fruit and grains are not prohibited to Adam and Eve. The exception was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Genesis 1.29

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, on which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

So making wine or other strong drinks are not prohibited. The Lord Gave Adam and his descendants the right to consume all products grown from the earth. That being the situation eating and drinking were not forbidden. Eating and drinking were fine. So there was nothing wrong or sinful with the people who were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage. Why were they destroyed? Why did Rabbi Jesus' use this as an example to imply they were doing something wrong? Why did he imply that eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage was the reason for the so called sudden destruction of the world?

Rabbi Jesus gave the impression that the people in the future who eat, drink, marry and giving in marriage will be destroyed without warning. Was this his intention? Was Rabbi Jesus saying people who live normal lives of eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage would be destroyed without prior warning? He said, it would happen as swiftly as lightning shooting across the sky from one end to the other. Rabbi Jesus implied that his coming would be swift! Let's consider a few important points. What were the people in Noah's day doing?

First, The Creator Forbids worshipping idols. Genesis 4.26 states, men began to call [idols] by the Name of The Lord. Our Sages point to the meaning of The Word הוּחַל Hu Charla that is related to חולין Chu Lin meaning to profane. They were worshipping idols!

Bereisheit 4.26

Genesis 4.26

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son, and he called his name Enosh; it was then men began to call [idols] by the name of The Lord.

Second, We observe in Genesis 6.3 that The Lord Said in mercy, 'My Spirit shall not continue to judge [these evil] men forever. He is flesh...' The Holy Scriptures credit this comment to the Merciful Attribute of The Lord. The Lord in His Mercy is saying man has become so very evil that He cannot continue to look away from man's evil... man's sin... Man is NOT Spiritual any longer... man is only flesh... Then The Lord Said, '...his days will be a hundred and twenty years.'

Bereisheit 6.3

Genesis 6.3

And He, The Lord Said, My Spirit shall not [continue to] Judge [the descendants of] Adam forever. Moreover, He is flesh. And it happened his days are one hundred and twenty years.

Third, we observe a sinful mixture of seed. Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin comments, regarding The B'nai Elohim {the sons of God / the angels of God} in Genesis 6.2. He states that they are the Nephilim meaning the fallen of Genesis 6.4. The Holy Scriptures states that the sons of God... that the Nephilim... that the angels had relations with the daughters of man, and this result was abnormal beings, giants. The Holy Scriptures Teaches against mixing seed. Observe what The Lord Commanded from the very beginning. The fallen angels rebelled against The Lord... Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin, Insights In The Torah - Bereishis (Brooklyn, NY: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. First Edition, 1991), pp. 44 - 46

Genesis 1.11-12

And God Said, Let the earth bring forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth, and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1.24

And God Said, Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

Genesis 1.25

And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Noah and his grandfather, Mesushelach taught against interrelationships with the Nephilim. Many people of the earth heeded their instruction. The results were the Nephilim forcibly took the wives and daughters of those who heeded their message of religious purity. Eventually the entire world was corrupted by vile sin. Stealing was the root of the problem. Men stole everything. Nothing was sacred. Men stole the wives and daughters of others. The police and judges did the same. There was no justice. The Talmud, Se far HaYashar and the Drastic books discuss this subject.

Fourth, in Genesis 6.5 we observe that the Creator Saw man's wickedness increase on the earth and that his thoughts were only continually evil.

Genesis 6.5

And God Saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Fifth, God, Informs Noah He is going to destroy the entire world. That was God's last course of action. The Book of Hebrews states. 'By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to save his house; and in so doing he condemned the world.'

Peter states, God destroyed the disobedient. He stated. God was long suffering... God waited... God did not hurry to destroy the world. Noah preached righteousness. Noah warned the world... 2 Peter 2:5

'Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.' 1 Peter 3:20

'And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;' 2 Peter 2:5

Dear Reader what is the point? Rabbi Jesus description of the days of Noach is not correct. If it is not entirely true what is it?

Rabbi Jesus said. 'For as lightning comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man be,' Matthew 24.27. Rabbi Jesus said. 'As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For as [it was] in the days [of Noah], before the Flood people were eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.' Matthew 24:37-39

From these verses I get the impression that these people were just eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. They were living normal lives based on Rabbi Jesus description. They were not doing anything wrong based on what Rabbi Jesus described! So again, I ask why did they perish? Rabbi Jesus gives the impression God is ruthless when in fact God is long suffering, kind, loving and merciful!!

Dear Reader, it does not matter what Rabbi Jesus was attempting to communicate if it was untruthful. Rabbi Jesus zoomed in on what God fearing and abiding people often do. They eat, drink, marry and have children. Why didn't Rabbi Jesus say anything about idol worship, stealing, the fallen angels, kidnapping, stealing mothers, stealing wives and daughters to rape them? Why didn't Rabbi Jesus say anything about the giants that resulted from Angels impregnating the daughters of men? Why didn't he mention the sin of mixing Angelic seed with human seed, man's evil, man's continual wickedness? The point is Rabbi Jesus stated people were marrying and giving in marriage. That is about as far from the truth as it gets.

Let's continue to consider the facts. Let's consider the historical facts. Let's consider what Christians themselves have taught about this subject.

235 From Creation

First, The world Rabbi Jesus described in Matthew and Luke is inaccurate!! 1,400 years before the flood, The Holy Scriptures Stated, 'men began to call [idols] by the Name of The Lord.' Sefar HaYashar says the name Enosh means man brought pain to their souls. Enosh means serious, mortal implying seriously ill or mortally ill. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.10

365 From Creation

Second, Sefar HaYashar states that just 130 years later over 1,200 years before the flood that Keinan the son of Enosh knew God was about to destroy mankind because of THEIR SINFUL LIVES. Not because they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.10

The wives of Lemech did not bear him any more children after he killed a man. Why? 'They knew God was going to destroy the earth by a flood because of the evil and corrupt ways humankind lived. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) pp.11-12

687 From Creation

Third, Mesushelach was born 969 years before the flood. The meaning of the name מְתוּשֶׁלַח Mesushelach is recognized by scholars to mean 'death and destruction'. Our Sages point to the first two letters of מְתוּשֶׁלַח Mesushelach. They are from right to left ת Tav מ Mem. They form The Word מֵת Mayt or Met meaning death. The second word in Methuselah's name is שַׁלַּח Sheh Lah Ach means to send, to launch, to dispatch. The Letter ו Vav is between these two Words. The Vav connects Met and Sheh Lah Ach together. Met Voo Sheh Lah Ach means 'When this child dies destruction begins.'

Fourth, Peter states, 'God spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.' 2Peter 2:5 There are several points to what The Christian New Testament book of Peter states.

1.) Noah preached righteousness. Noah was a preacher of righteousness. Genesis 6.3 states that God waited 120 years.. God said in reference to the sinful people living in Noah's day, 'My Spirit shall not continue to judge [these] men forever since he is but flesh...'

Noah and Mesushelach were told by God to preach this message: Thus Says God. 'Repent of you evil ways and He Will Change His Decree against you.'

Genesis 6.3

And He, The Lord Said, My Spirit shall not [continue to] Judge [the descendants of] Adam forever. Moreover, He is flesh. And it happened his days are one hundred and twenty years.

1436 From Creation

According to Sefar Ha Yasher The Lord Required Mesushelach and Noah to preach repentance every day for 120 years leading up to the flood. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.16

Finis Jennings Dake, a Christian Bible Scholar, commentator and author states, 'God in His Mercy, Gave him [man] 120 more years in which to repent and conform his life to the will of the Creator..' Finis Jennings Dake, Dake's Annotated Reference Bible, {Lawrenceville, Georgia: Dake Bible Sales 10th printing, 1978) p 6

2.) Peter states that those that perished in the flood were ungodly. They were not a bunch of easy going nice people who were eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. They were ungodly! They were NOT righteous.

'And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;' 2 Peter 2:5

Fifth, Sefar Ha Yasher writes, five years before the flood The Lord Commanded Noah to build the ark. See Genesis 6.14. Sefar Ha Yasher says, 'After repeated warnings' to humankind God Spoke to Noah. Sefer HaYashar (Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House, Inc., 1993) p.18

Genesis 6.13

And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

1656 From Creation

Sixth, one week before the flood Noah and his family, are instructed to take all the animals into the Ark. Genesis 7.1-5. It was on this day that

Mesushelach died.

Genesis 7.1-6

And the Lord said to Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast, you shall take to you seven pairs, the male and his female; and of beasts that are not clean one pair, the male, and his female. Of birds also of the air by seven pairs, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For in another seven days, I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. And Noah were six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

What is the point?

Rabbi Jesus said, 'And they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. So shall also the coming of the coming of the Son of Man will be.' Matthew 24:39.

I have chronologically shown that the people living in Noah's time were warned of what was about to transpire. Especially the last 120 years when Noah was preaching. Then the completion of the Ark with the animals being gathered into the Ark and the death of Mesushelach. Then Noah and his family entering the ark. There is a difference between the claim Rabbi Jesus made, 'they knew nothing' and being warned for over 1,400 years, 1,200 years, 969 years, 120 years, five years, and seven days of the impending destruction. DO YOU GET THE POINT?

'By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as of yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the save his house; in so doing he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness...' Hebrew 11:7

So this was not ...as lightning coming from the east that was visible in the west as Rabbi Jesus indicated in Matthew 24:27. God's Judgment was a slow, deliberate process of warnings. It was not all of the sudden without warning as Rabbi Jesus said!!

Dear Reader in numerous examples I have shown many errors in Rabbi Jesus comment on Matthew 24:37-39. At the very least this should challenge us to ask why did Rabbi Jesus misrepresent the truth? Why did Rabbi Jesus state things that historically are proven inaccurate? One must at least consider how the Christian New Testament could not be considered Divinely inspired with so many errors?

What Do I Believe About Rabbi Jesus?

Your comment gives me the impression that you are a 'BELIEVER'. I define a believer as a dedicated individual who is closed to the Truth.  A believer remains CONVINCED that Rabbi Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God and God even when the Truth shows this is impossible. A believer is CONFIDENT there beliefs are right. Nothing anyone writes or says will alter what they believe.

We agree that Rabbi Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote about. We agree that the Messiah must come from the Tribe of Judah.

Michah 5.1

But you, Beth-Lehem Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth to Me, he who is to be ruler in Israel; and his origin is from ancient time, from days of old.

Jeremiah 23.5 - 6

Behold, the days come, Says The Lord, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, "The Lord is Our Righteousness".

Psalms 132.11 - 12

The Lord has sworn in truth to David; he will not turn from it; One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne. 12  If your children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon your throne for evermore.

We both agree that Matthew 1.18 says Jesus was the son of Mary

'Now the birth of Jesus [who christians call] Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.'

We agree that 'IF" The Holy Ghost fathered Jesus then Joseph was not Jesus father. If The Holy Ghost Fathered Jesus then Joseph was at best only Jesus Step-Father.

Matthew informs us that Joseph was not Jesus father we cannot HONESTLY say or TRUTHFULLY CLAIM that Rabbi Jesus was from the tribe of Judah or of the seed of David based on his Step-Father's genealogy. So Joseph's Genealogy in Matthew does not support Rabbi Jesus as being from the Tribe of David or the seed of David.

Matthew clearly tells us that the genealogy in Matthew 1:16 was that of Jesus Step Father.  He wrote, 'And Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary of whom Jesus was born who [Christians] call Christ.'

I compared the Genealogy in Matthew 1.1 - 17 to the Genealogy in I Chronicles 1.27 - 3.19 and Observed that for some reason Matthew omitted 5 names from Rabbi Jesus Genealogy. The genealogies in Chronicles are well established. They were written more than 480 years before was written Matthew. They were vetted.

View Rabbi Jesus Genealogy Chart

Matthew states, 'So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.'

Does your Bible say this? This is WRONG! There were 19 generations from Babylon to Jesus birth. Matthew says there are 14 generations but there are actual 19. Someone is mistaken! This is an error! Who made this error? This is why I call the Christian writings The Foreign Testament. The writings have errors. They are not perfect. They have mistakes.

So what about Mary? Is the genealogy in Luke Mary's genealogy?  Christian scholars did not know there were two versions of genealogy until around the 17th century. When this was discovered they were obviously very concerned. What were they going to do? The Genealogies did not match. At that time it was suggested that one genealogy was Mary's and the other Joseph's. H. D. M. Spence and Joseph S. Exell editors, The Pulpit Commentary Volume 22 Epistles of Peter, John and Jude. The Revelation (Grand Rapids, Michigan, Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, reprint 1975) pp. 135, 169

HOWEVER,  this does not help Christians because Luke writes  Mattatha was the son of Nathan who was the son of David in Luke 3:31. This is a HUGE PROBLEM for Christians because the Messiah MUST be a descendant of Solomon who was a descendant of David.

2 Samuel 7.12 - 13

'And [David] when your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall issue from your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13  He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.'

Nathan the son of David in Luke 3:31 did not build The Holy Temple for The Lord God. Solomon built The Holy Temple for The Lord God. The Prophecy clearly states that the one who builds the Holy Temple for The Lord God is the one whose kingdom will be established forever.

So to conclude, Mathew 1:16 says 'Joseph was the husband of Mary'. Matthew 1:20 'Mary Your wife' Do you think it is alright to take another man's wife and impregnate her?

Matthew states that it was obvious to Joseph that Mary was pregnant and that 'he was not willing to make her a public example' and that 'he was going to put her away privily'.

Think about what Matthew wrote.  It obviously was a great surprise to Joseph to see that his wife was pregnant. Matthew says Joseph did not make her pregnant,  'before they came together'. What about Mary's mother? What about Mary's Father? What about Mary siblings? What about Mary's neighbors? What about the Jewish community Mary Lived in? What about Mary's girlfriends?

Christians don't know the Jewish procedure for marrying. How does a man take a wife in Judaism? There are so many unknowns that Christians should be asking. Why don't you ask these questions. Put yourself in the mother's shoes. If Mary was your daughter and all of the sudden she was pregnant at the age of 12 what would you think?  How would you react? Put yourself in the father's shoes.

Is one's imagination so impressionable that one would actually believe only Mary and Joseph knew she was nine months pregnant? How far does one have to stretch there imagination to believe this story? To what degree will Christians go to deny what is very obvious! The Lord God did NOT impregnate Mary!! Are you that easily persuaded? Are you this credulous?

It comes down to this. Do you believe what Rabbi Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5.22? 'Abstain from all appearance of evil.'

Do you think that impregnating another mans wife could have the appearance of wrong doing or evil?  I do!!

Do you think Joseph looked at his wife Mary being pregnant as being evil? I do!!

Dear Ones, some of the issues within Christianity and The Foreign Testament  result from poor translations.  Some issues exist because believers just don't really think about what is written within there own Testament and doctrines. When one comes to these ruff places in the road logic is very helpful.  For example if The Lord God says Humans should refrain from a particular action then Logic teaches us that The Angels, Spiritual Beings, and The Lord God also refrain from these actions also. This is the line of thinking when Rabbi Peter, i.e. the first Pope of the Catholic Church states in 1 Peter 1:15 - 16, 'But as he which has called you is holy, so should you be holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, You must be Holy because  I Am Holy.'

Rabbi Peter is telling Christians to practice logical thinking. If The Lord God is Holy then Christians are also suppose to be Holy. Rabbi Peter is quoting from Ha Torah, i.e

Leviticus 11.45

For I am the Lord that Brings you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be Holy, for I Am Holy.

Dear Reader this is Logic. So when The Lord God Says Birds, fish, animals, trees and flowers should each mate with there own kind this means Angels are prohibited from mating with the daughters of men as described in Genesis 6.2.

Genesis 6.2

Two of the Angels] of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful; and they took as wives all those whom they chose.

Genesis 6.4

There were 'the fallen' / Giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, because [two of the Angels] of God came in to the daughters of men, and [had relationships with them and] they bore children to them, the same became mighty men of old, men of renown [Giants].

Genesis 6.12 - 13

And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. And God Said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them [i.e. the two fallen angels]; and, behold, I will destroy them [the two fallen angels and the offspring] with the earth.

This is why the world then was destroyed.

What are the instructions God gave to Noach?

Genesis 6.17 - 20

And, behold, I, Myself, will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, where there is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with you will I establish my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20  Of birds after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.

So we see that The Lord God punished the world then and destroyed it because two fallen angels mixed there seed with that of humans which was NOT AFTER Their own kind. Therefore The Lord God would NOT violate any form of mixing seed as described in Matthew 1.18 and 1:20.

'Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost... But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.'

Using common sense and logic while studying The Holy Scriptures is absolutely necessary. One consider from the position of common sense and logic those claims that are not within  the realm of possibilities?

In Bereisheit / Genesis 1.11

11  And He, God Said, Let grass on earth [bring forth] grass, herb from their own seed, and the fruit tree making fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth; and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

21 And God Created the great giants, the great ones, and every being that is alive, that lives in the waters, according to its kind,  and every kind of winged birds, according to its kind and God Saw that it was good.

24  And God Said, Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

25  And God Made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Grass mated with grass and brought forth grass. Herbs mated with herbs and brought forth herbs. Fruit trees mated with their own kind and brought forth Fruit of their kind.

And God Saw it was good.  This means mating within one's own kind is good.  Mating outside of one's kind is not good.

Ha Torah Prohibits mixing diverse species together. This is called Kilayim meaning,  crossbreeding seeds. Their are nine types of forbidden mixtures.

1.mixed seeds

2 grafting trees

3 seeds in a vineyard

4 cross-breeding animals,

5 pulling cattle

6 mixing linen and wool in garments (shatnez).

7. Animals and humans

8. Angels and humans

9. God our Creator and humans

Kilayim is prohibited by Ha Torah. Our Creator FORBIDS altering species He Established and Created as an unwarranted tampering with the categories established by God's creation. The Jerusalem Talmud interprets the verse "My statutes you shall keep" as the laws of nature. Creation comes from God, implying that the alteration of a natural law or the modification of a species constitutes an impermissible violation of creation.  http://www.coejl.org/learn/bd_artson.php

James teaches engrafting in James 1.21. Paul teaches graphing in Romans 11:17; 19; 23-24 These are forbidden by The Holy Scriptures.

They alter what God Has Created! This is forbidden.

Genesis 1.14

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

Here we learn that days, nights, Holidays and years are to be used to measure the day, night, Holidays months and years.

Exodus 12.1

This month shall be to you the beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Prior to this Observance Biblical time was measured From Creation. Now all the Holidays of the Bible are measured from the Month Passover is observed in.

Exodus 12.3

Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house;

No where in the False Testament do we read of Rabbi Jesus or his disciples  taking a lamb on the 10th of the firfst month. We do not know if they followed this Observance or not.

Exodus 12.6

And you shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

Exodus 12.18 - 20

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month at evening. Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses; for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger, or born in the land.  You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall you eat unleavened bread.

In Rabbi Jesus time we know that Passover began Yom Shi Shi, i.e. Thursday night. How do we know this?

And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, Mark 15:42

And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them; he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. Luke 23:50 - 54

How was time measured in the Gospels?

Are Biblical dates and times important? What purpose do dates and times serve?

Dear reader, Biblical dates and times tell us when  the Festival of Passover or the Festival of Unleavened Bread begin. They inform us if the day is Sabbath or a High Holiday.  Sometimes they inform us of the day, the week or the month. The writer Matthew makes more than 20 direct references to the Biblical dates and days during the last six days of Jesus life. Mark, Luke and John add another 38.

Matthew 4:12; 12:1; 12:40; 13:1; 15:32; 16:21; 17:1; 17:23; 20:19; 22:23; 26:2, 26:5; 26:17; 26:61; 27:19; 27:40; 27:62; 27:63; 27:64; 28:1.

Mark 1:21; 2:23; 6:2; 9:31, 10:34; 12:12; 14:1; 14:12; 14:14: 14:16; 15:42; 16:2;

Luke 1:59; 2:41; 2:44; 4:16; 9:22; 13:16; 14:1; 22:1; 22:7; 22:8; 22:11; 23:43; 23:56; 24:1;

John 1:39; 2:13; 2:23; 5:9; 6:4; 7:2; 10:22; 11:55; 12:1; 13:1; 18:28; 19:14

If dates, times and words were not important then why did the Gospel writers use them. The writer Matthew used these words to identify times and places for us the readers. In addition Matthew associates important events with the hour they occurred 14 times. Mark, Luke and John add an additional 13 references to the hour an event happened.

See:

Matthew 8:13; 9:22; 10:19; 15:28; 17:18; 20:3; 20:5; 20:6; 20:12; 24:36; 24:44; 26:55; 27:45,46.

Mark 13:35; 14:37; 14:41; 15:25; 15:33; 14:34

Luke 12:39; 22:14; 23:44; 24:33

John 4:6; 19:14; 19:27

We have the same right to use these times and dates to support, dispute or challenge, if necessary.

I see no variation from the way time was measured in the Christian Writings, from how time was measured by Moses, Joshua, David etc.  The Torah method of measurement of time is reinforced in the Christian Writings many times over. In the Christian Writings the Sabbath is always recognized as the Seventh Day.  The High Holy Days are in their proper seasons. The measurement of hours in the Christian Writings was the same as thousands of years in the past.

Dear Reader this is the second book in the Passover Series. The First was entitled, A Sincere Journey Ends Without JESUS.

In this book we are going to point out many places of disinformation. Some of this disinformation is intentional in my opinion. We are going to explain why the time period around Passover is so confusing. We are going to point out a number of inconsistencies between the Gospel Writers. We will observe that their writings are NOT in harmony.

One of the areas of confusion is in how time is measured in the Christian Writings. There is the traditional measurement of time according to the Hebrew Scriptures and then there is the time introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582/5342 From Creation known as the Gregorian Calendar. The measurement of time in the Christian Writings is according to the Hebrew Scriptures. However today, 432 years from when the Gregorian Calendar originated most individuals know very little about how time is measured according to the Hebrew Scriptures.  Come on... Why would anyone living in the 21 century want to learn how to measure time according to the Hebrew Scriptures? This confusion is complemented by almost three dozen different measurements of time. Yet, originally there was only one measurement of time. This one measurement is still used today. What is the purpose of the other calendars and their measurement of time? CONFUSION! Listen! There are over 730 religions in the world today. Is this progress? These religions have thousands of splinters into additional religions... Why is this so important?

Dear reader we are going to be measuring Jesus last week on earth chronologically. This can only be accurately done using the Hebrew Scripture's method of measurement. As we journey, the time issue will become obvious. One can overcome it but it is a challenge. Ask yourself - Do I want to know the Truth? How valuable is the Truth to me?

In Chapter One we begin with the goal I have for this book. I write, regardless of the conclusion we may each reach after reading The Last Six Days of Jesus Life my desire is that our journey should flow with interesting information and be filled with the richness of Jewish Passover Observances. It will be more authentic for the reader if I can help you to experience the thoughts and the struggles I felt.

We list a few rules this book will follow in the examination of Jesus Last six days on earth. Then I admit that twenty years ago my beliefs were biased in favor of Christianity. That is where I was then. This is where the story begins. Today I have returned to Judaism and try to live an observant life.

Chapter Two is a brief look at Biblical dates and times. They tell us when  the Festival of Passover or the Festival of Unleavened Bread begin. They inform us if the day is Sabbath or a High Holiday.  Sometimes they inform us of the day, the week or the month. We conclude that the Christian Writings were written using the same measurement of time as the Hebrew Scriptures. The changes in the measurement of time came about 1,500 years after the Christian Writings.

Chapter Three discusses the impact of modern technology, i.e. computers on Biblical research.

Chapters Four through Nine discuss the measurement of Biblical Time in eight different categories. We discuss and teach how time is measured by Year, by Month, by Day, by Night, by Hour, by Week, by Holy Days. In addition to this we compare two measurement systems for most of these categories. There is clearly a difference of opinion about how time is measured. I discuss three different theories. There is no way to adequately express in this introduction the importance of the measurement of time in the last six days of Jesus life on earth. This is why I divided each chapter into it's own category. This keeps our thoughts organized and easier to reference back to as one studies. I find it quite unique that the Gospel writers break the last day of Jesus life down into hours. This is quite rare. Yet it is fascinating and assists in establishing important points Christians have difficulty with.

In Chapter Seven we examine the use of the Sabbath Day, i.e. the Seventh Day as an anchor  point to time measurement, time to and from, and as a time reference. Again there are those who argue that the use of the word Sabbath was in reference to Passover. Others teach that the use of the term Sabbath Day was in reference to both Sabbath and Passover. Then there are those that teach the use of Sabbath Day was in reference to the Seventh Day of the week, i.e. Sabbath. We discuss which position is correct and prove with  references as to why it is correct. We dispute the other arguments.

Chapter Eight is another anchor in a chain of days that are established in the Hebrew Scriptures. On the fourteenth day of the month late in the afternoon is when the Passover Lamb is killed. Then a little later at nightfall is the beginning of the Passover Seder Meal. Both of these fall during the Festival of Matzah, i.e. Unleavened Bread. Then there is the Seventh Day of Passover. Dear Reader once we establish a day and a date it is simply a matter of working back and forth. In addition Christians claim Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Sunday. They teach the crowd laid palm branches and garments in his path. They say this was his triumphant entry into the holy city.

In Chapter Nine we speak of Preparation Day as a point of time measurement and reference. Some argue that Preparation Day when used in the Gospels is in reference to Sabbath. Some argue  Preparation Day is in reference to Passover. Others teach  Preparation Day is in reference to both Sabbath and Passover. However once we establish the first day of the week as a day and time anchor, it is not difficult to work back from to prove which position is correct.

Chapter 10 is about John's statement that Jesus last meal was the [last] Supper. John states this was before the Passover Seder Meal. Matthew, Mark and Luke dispute John's position. We examine both positions to determine who is correct. There are some very clear issues with both positions.

Chapter Eleven is a 'Detour' where we take side streets so to speak to determine if John's position is correct. Come on! The Gospel writers say John was one of Jesus disciples for three years. Luke says John was one of those that went to prepare the Passover meal. Yet John says it was not the Passover meal it was a supper before Passover. This is an important date. This is the last meal with Jesus. That night Jesus is taken into custody by guards. The next day he is killed. Or is he? The point is that John should remember when it was. May individuals measure events in time from the death of a loved one. Is it possible John could have confused such an important event? Then we must ask, at that time, was Jesus death an important event?  Maybe, the Catholic Church has made Jesus death an important event.

Chapter Twelve is entitled, More Conflict With John. Why? Most Bibles are 'Red Letter' editions. The red letters are supposed to be the very words Jesus spoke. People that love Jesus cling to his words and to his quotes. Well based on what Jesus says in Matthew, Mark and Luke we have more conflicts with what John says.

Dear Reader, do you see the many angles of the last six days of Jesus life on earth?

Chapter Thirteen is what this book is all about. Chapter Thirteen is the chronological day by day account from the 8th Day of the First Month when Jesus came to Bethany through when Jesus died on the 15th Day of the  First Month.  The time frame is actually a little longer than six days. I include a chronological connection to every day  and night referenced in the Gospels during this time frame. The reader will be able to follow the journey of Jesus from Bethany to the triumphant Entry to Jerusalem to the casting out of the money exchangers to the cursing of the fig tree to the preparation for the final Passover Seder Meal to the death and burial of Jesus to the first Day of the week.

Because I am Jewish and have a strong Christian past I share many helpful points that the non-Jewish world many be unaware of. Even though some Christian readers may be unhappy with points I make, each point is referenced so the reader can determine for her or his self what the truth is. The point of this book was and continues to be, a sincere examination of the last six days of Jesus life on earth. There is a great deal readers may learn from the time applications we discuss in this book. I have spent many years in preparing this book. God Willing another book dealing with controversial issues will follow this book. Originally I intended to included these as part of this book. They are important and interesting but need to be kept separate because they deal with other issues.

Before beginning our exploration of the last six days of Jesus life there are several points to consider. Regardless of the conclusion we may each reach after reading The Last Six Days of Jesus Life my desire is that our journey should flow with interesting information and be filled with the richness of Jewish Passover Observances. It will be more authentic for the reader if I can help you to experience the thoughts and the struggles I felt. Slowly in a step-by-step way the Last Six Days Of JESUS life on Earth unfolded to me. I found myself asking unusual questions and having thoughts unaccustomed to me. Living through these experiences was both challenging and interesting. This book is a step-by-step guide through the last Six Days of JESUS Life on Earth. However it may not turn out just the way you would expect it to...

Whenever an individual attempts to do a scholarly examination, rules must be established and followed for others to follow.

Rule One is we are going to read and discuss the Gospels from a literal position. This step by step guide will go no where if we attempt to bend, ignore or rationalize away what is written in the Four Gospels.

Rule Two is we are going to examine written statements in the Gospels to determine their credibility.  Is the statement truthful? Is the statement accurate?  We are not considering the plausibility or feasibility or possibility of a statement. If a date and time can be measured we will measure it. Then the statement will be judged on the facts not the believability.

Rule Three is to be factual, to be objective, to be honest and to support all findings with references.

The Gospels will rise or fall based upon facts based upon what can be substantiated.

Dear Reader at the time I began this journey I was very biased even though this was not all that noticeable to me.  I expect the exact same bias from you. That is OK!

My Christian bias of years ago is quite noticeable to me now. Let me share... That being the situation why should I expect anything different from the readers of this book. I expect the reader of this book to be a serious Christian with strong ties to their church, and to possess a dedication to weekly Bible study.  That individual would own more than $10,000 in Christian books, commentaries, reference guides, Greek and Hebrew Bibles each with at least one interlinear, an encyclopedia, Bible dictionaries and on and on... In fact it would be necessary to set aside one room in the house or at the business to accommodate all the books just as I did. So if I were to say that a degree of bias did not exist that would be a complete falsehood. Yet at that time, twenty years ago I would not have thought of my beliefs as being biased. I was biased in favor of Christianity. That is where I was. Yet at that time I thought being neutral was an achievable goal. I was steeped in Christianity. My father was a Pastor of a successful congregation. My father-in-law then was a former pastor. As a child I was raised to attend  9:30 AM Sunday School followed a 10:45 AM church service, a large family lunch, a short break then 6:00 PM youth service followed by 7:00 PM evening service. Then there was the middle of the week service and at times weeks of revival every night... There was visiting the sick, board meetings, teachers meetings, yearly conventions and on and on... Can you taste what it was like?  Should I share about speaking in tongues and tarrying for the Holy Spirit in the prayer room for hours?  We had a large prayer room off to the left of the platform in the front of the congregation. It is where people came to 'tarry for the Holy Spirit'. So dear reader if you are biased it's OK. If you are closed minded, its fine. If you enjoy hanging out with preacher types it's great. That is where I was at then...

Whern I began my research I thought this exploration would be a fun Bible study with the congregation for a few weeks leading up to Passover. I thought the results were predictable. It didn't turn out this way. What could be so difficult about doing an examination of the last six days of Jesus' life?  If you feel this way then you are walking close to my steps.

As my journey began one of my goals was to see if it were possible to establish the day of the week with the date that the calendar event took place on according to the Gospel writers of the Christian Writings. This would help the congregation relate to the events better. One would think that linking days like Palm Sunday and Good Friday etc. with dates from the Christian Writings would be a snap.  Actually this proved to be quite challenging.  Can it be done? Yes! Another goal was to conclude this examination with a Friday evening Seder meal. Get the Congregation involved. We would have some type of reenactment of the Last Super.  I would play the part of Jesus and members of the Congregation could play the parts of other interesting roles like Judas the trader, Doubting Thomas or Peter the stalwart.  Later on in our Journey we will need to lean heavily on our rules and our goals.  This never happened.

Exodus 15.22

So Moses brought everything from Aleph to Tav of Yisrael from the Sea of Reeds, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

Exodus 15.23

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore its name was called Marah.

They came to Marah expecting one thing but got another. The intention of B'nei Israel was to find water, what they got was bitter water.

Dear ones, it is so easy to get caught up in the emotion of the minute. B'nei Israel just experienced the greatest military victory of their lives. The greatest, most feared army of Egypt had just been annihilated. They watched as the waters came crashing down on horse, chariot and rider. They observed as foot soldier, sergeant and captain drowned in the Yam Suf / the Reed Sea. They saw their once feared tormenters eliminated in an instant, never to bother them again. Under such circumstances it is extremely difficult not to get caught up in the singing and rejoicing. After all, this was a very great victory. This was a powerful deliverance by The Lord.

The same can be said for tragedy. On the morning of 9-11 I was preparing to leave for work when the phone rang. The caller was our son. He stated, "Turn on your television, Avie. The World Trade Center has just been hit by a terrorist plane." I turned on the television and watched. Soon my ride to work arrived at the door. He came in. I asked if he had heard the news. He said, "What news?" I invited him to join me. We sat their stunned as the events of the day unfolded. We decided to not go to work that day. We watched for hours....

Holy reader, it is easy to get caught up in festivities and in tragedies. We must be careful. While we need to rejoice and mourn we must still remain constant in our observance of Torah study. If we allow ourselves to be drawn away or permit ourselves to be attracted to something other than what it is we should be doing, we may be endangering our own existence. This is what happened to B'nei Israel in Parshat Beshalach. This is what can and occasionally may happen to us. We must be careful.

In all the rejoicing, B'nei Israel neglected to study The Torah for three days. Their neglect immediately resulted in the evaporation of their entire water supply. B'nei Israel went for three days without water and without studying The Torah. Their rejoicing almost immediately turned into tragedy. Over three million people were in need of water. The mothers, children and fathers needed water. Millions of sheep and cattle needed water. The vast herds grew weak. Everyone was searching for water. No one could find water. Things were quickly becoming desperate.

The point is being constant in times of rejoicing and tragedy. The point is remaining constant in all types of weather. This is why our Sages instituted the reading of Torah on Shabbat, Monday and Thursday so B'nei Israel would never again go three days without Torah study. You see we became so involved in a good thing... a great deliverance... a great victory... a powerful miracle that we neglected a very important thing, our Torah study.

So even though there are times that by accident or need we are drawn away from our important responsibilities of studying Torah, during each day our sages have placed a guard... a fence... a protection in our path to protect us from the bitter waters. That guard is consistency. It is good to rise at the same time each day. It is good to study at the same time each day. It is good to pray at the same time each day. In other words, it is important to develop a life built on consistency. I refer to this as digging a rut. When a Jew has deep ruts to follow throughout life it is much easier. There is nothing wrong in hugging deep ruts. They keep us consistent. They keep up us in place, God Willing, the right place. What I am saying is that for the observant Jew there is always a place that we are supposed to be and normally that is good. The problem erupts when we get out of our rut. Emergencies, vacations, meetings all have the potential of drawing us away from where we are supposed to be and away from what we should be doing. As an author of parshat studies each week, I must carefully guard my time. Studying, preparation and writing require many hours each week. I spend hours at work each week and driving between home and work. Each day begins with prayer. The night normally concludes with supper before bedtime and prayer. The days are long. The nights are short. Every minute of the day is scheduled in some form.

Dear Reader it does not matter how high one can climb. One can fall just as far. These principles are not for you alone but for me also. They are for all of us. One of the guards or fences the Rabbis strongly encourage is living in a Jewish Community. I did not use the word Orthodox for a purpose. Live next door to Jews. Live across the street from Jews. Live down the block from Jews. I appreciate the wisdom of living in a community. Several of the great mistakes in my life have been living outside the Jewish Community. Choose a community that is large enough to allow for some privacy. Choose a community with choices of many congregations. If it is not possible to live in a community then associate closely with the community. Attend studies, events, social gatherings daily prayer and Sabbath services when possible. Remember the waters of Marah were bitter but Ha Torah is sweet.

Psalms 19.8 - 12

The Torah of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even very fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned; and in keeping of them there is great reward.

If we make the right changes we can avoid a lot of bitterness.

One Sabbath, while camping near Triangle Circle, about 26 miles up in the mountains above New Castle, Colorado, several family members took a hike. It was intended to be a short hike. We could not carry. It did not turn out that way. We refers to this hike as the Nine Mile Hike. We do not know how long it actually was. However, hours later by the time we found our way back to camp we were very thirsty.

I saw this water bottle lying there. I was very thirsty. I picked it up and removed the cap. I began to drink. I rinsed my mouth. After a couple of gulps I spit the rest out. PHEW!! Have you ever opened a plastic water bottle that has been sitting in the sun for a long time? Not only is it hot but it has a horrible taste. I can only imagine what it was like for B'nei Yisroel after traveling three days without water and then to see this wonderful looking oasis with what appeared to be refreshing water. Can you imagine bending down to drink this water? Can you imagine how awful the water tasted. B'nei Yisroel could not drink the water because it was so bitter.

We allowed our good intended walk to take us away from where we need to be. We allowed our walk to place us in a difficult place.

A friend from the Jewish Community stopped by my place of employment. During our brief conversation he asked, "Akiva, what day do you have off?" I responded, "Truthfully, only Shabbat!"

Dear ones, I remember the words of a Teacher who studied with me. He said something to the effect of, 'Akiva, there is never a time for a Jew to let his hair down. We are always suppose to be aware of God's Presence.' A Jew should always be somewhere. That somewhere is planned. That somewhere is prepared. That somewhere is deliberate. Unfortunately, B'nei Israel allowed themselves to be drawn out of that consistent cycle that my teacher spoke of. We must guard our constancy. May The Lord bless us with being great rut huggers!

We must be careful to fill our cups with The Torah several times a week. We must stay true to our agreements. Our actions God Willing will keep our water delightful...
