Dear Ones, we are going to consider the sexual intimacy of Genesis 2.24. Translators editorialize Genesis 2.24. Translators deliberately conceal the intended message in Genesis 2.24.  Translators are attempting to be tzniut. i.e. modest. The general rule translators follow is not to describe sexual organs or sexual acts. When translators editorialize the Scriptures this impacts the effectiveness of the message. Let's get real!! Moses wrote what The Creator Spoke. The Words written in the Scriptures are The Creator's. Who are we to editorialize His Words?

In Genesis 2.24 Our Creator is Quoting the words of Adam. At the time, Adam spoke these words he was perfect!

Bereisheit 2.24

: עַל־כֵּן יַעֲזָב־אִישׁ אֶת־אָבִיו וְאֶת־אִמּוֹ וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ וְהָיוּ לְבָשָׂר אֶחָד-

Genesis 2.24 ( Editorialized )

Therefore shall a man leaves his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh.

The Editorialized translation omits details. When we discuss relationships and marriage, details are important.

Genesis 2.24

It is the right way; it is the higher path for a husband to use his strength properly to leave everything from Aleph to Tav of his Father and everything from Aleph to Tav of his Mother and sexually attach with his wife, and they shall become as one flesh.

The Torah is Teaching us the hierarchy of associations between a husband his wife and his parents. His wife is first in the hierarchy of associations. Parents are important. We are to honor our parents. Honoring our parents extends our life, Exodus 20.12. Still, The Torah Teaches One's wife comes first. Her needs are first.  Husbands are required to place their wife before all else. The wife's wants, desires, needs are first. If the wife wants the husband to take care of the children, then he must do so. If the wife wants the husband to do the laundry, he must do the laundry to the best of his ability. If the wife wants the husband to go on an errand, he must do so. The wife is first!!

Editorialized translations Say 'a man shall leave his father and mother'. The Word for man and husband is אִישׁ Eesh. We need to answer this question. When is Scripture speaking of a man and when is Scripture speaking or a husband?

In addition, we need to discuss בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ Bih Eesh Toh meaning 'with the wife'. The root Word for בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ Bih Eesh Toh is אִשָּׁה Eesh meaning 'wife'. The word for Woman and wife is אִישׁ Eesh.

Why do the editorialized translations use the word man instead of husband? Why do they use the word wife instead of woman? It is not logical! Why is it not logical? If a man is sexually attached to a woman, it has to be his wife. So why is אִישׁ Eesh translated as a man in the editorialized translation when, in fact, it has to be the husband?

We need to know, is Scripture discussing a man or is Scripture discussing a husband. The rules of association are different between a man and a husband. A man should not have close associations with a woman especially if they are by themselves. On the other hand, a husband should have close intimate special sexual relations with his wife when they are alone.  This is a black-and-white issue in The Torah that society has muddied the waters on. The Editorialized translations also contribute to confusing This Scripture.

In the purest sense, This Scripture is informing us that only a husband and his wife may attach themselves sexually. Later in The Holy Scriptures we learn of an additional separation.

Intimate Associations within The People of The Covenant

Devarim 7.3

וְלֹא תִתְחַתֵּן בָּם בִּתְּךָ לֹא־תִתֵּן לִבְנוֹ וּבִתּוֹ לֹא־תִקַּח לִבְנֶךָ:ס

Deuteronomy 7.3

And do not intermarry with them. Do not give Your daughter to his son. And do not take his daughter to your son.

The Mitzvot of The Torah draws a separation between The People of Israel and the rest of the world. The People of Israel are B'nei Yisroel, i.e. The Children of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. The Torah Says, וְלֹא תִתְחַתֵּן Vih Loh - Tee Tih Chah Tayn meaning 'And do not intermarry.'

Genesis 7.7 - 8

And I will establish My Covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you, and to your seed after you. And I will give to you, and to your seed after you, The Land where you are a stranger, all The Land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

The Lord God is informing all of us that ONLY the seed of Abraham will inherit The Land of Israel. The Lord God specifies that ONLY the seed He He Makes His Covenant with will inherit The Holy Land. Do we understand what this means? The People of Israel MUST marry within their tribes!Their seed must remain the seed of Abraham. When we speak about the ten lost tribes they are indeed lost. They are gone. How can they inherit The Holy Land if they are not of the seed of The Covenant? How can they return if they have intermarried and dissolved into oblivion? Sanhedrin 110b, Yevamot 17a (notes). Still, with The Lord God there may remain pure seed from the ten lost tribes to resurrect the tribes. However, if no pure seed remains among the ten lost tribes, the other Tribes will inherit their Land. We are discussing the reasons for The People of Israel to remain purely the seed of Abraham.

Numbers 27.8 - 11

And you shall speak to The People of Israel, saying, If a man dies and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter. And if he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers. And if he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father's brothers. And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his kinsman who is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it; and it shall be to The People of Israel A Statute of Judgment, as the Lord Commanded Moses.

Association As Priests of The Lord God To The People of The World

The People of Israel have an Association with The Lord God as a Holy Nation of Priests. The Association between The Lord God and The People of Israel exists because The Lord God Chose The People of Israel to Observe His 613 Eternal Mitzvot. No one else has the responsibility of Observing The 613 Mitzvot of The Torah. Yet, Each of us has Mitzvot to follow.

Exodus 19.3 - 6

And Moses went up to God, and The Lord Called to [Moses] from The Mountain, Saying, 'Thus shall you say to The House of Jacob, and tell The People of Israel, You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I carried you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself. Now, therefore, if you will obey My Voice indeed, and keep My Covenant, then you shall be My own treasure among all peoples; for all the earth is mine, And you shall be to Me a Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation. These are the words that you shall speak to The People of Israel.

All The People of Israel are the Priests to the Nations and peoples of the world. In this sense, The People of Israel are separated from The rest of the world.  It is here that I must point out that Christians teach a conflicting doctrine. Christians teach they are the chosen people, that they are the royal priesthood, and that they are the holy nation, 1 Peter 2:9.

According to the writer of Acts Peter was unschooled, Acts 4:13. As noted he was strongly influenced by Rabbi Jesus.

Peter taught Christians 'about Christian life and duties,' The NIV Study Bible (Grand Rapids, Michigan, Zondervan Bible Publications 1985) P 1887 This was Peter's  opinion. Each of us has opinions. Peter's opinion is not qualified. Catholics consider Peter the first Pope because they believe Rabbi Jesus refers to Peter as the rock upon which he will build his kingdom, Matthew 16:18 - 19.  Peter's lack of knowledge, education or qualifications were not a consideration. According to Christians and Catholics, Peter was uniquely qualified because he had been taught by Rabbi Jesus. I wrote about How The Lord God Commanded the People of Israel 'Do not Bear false witness.'  We see that one may bear false witness because they do not have an adequate knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. One may not bear false witness because they lack information and knowledge about a particular subject in The Holy Scriptures. One may bear false witness simply because they lack understanding. Many bear false witness because they do not carefully read and research the Bible. At B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC we require references. Students are NOT permitted just to spout off. Students must back up what they say with references.  When individuals read our discussions, I want them to be able to study and to research what we are discussing.

Most Christian New Testament translations reference 1 Peter 2.9 to Exodus 19.6. If one does just a little research, they will learn Peter consistently took Scripture The Lord God spoke to The People of Israel and applied The Scripture to Christians. Then Christians Teach The Holy Scriptures, i.e. The Hebrew Scriptures are done away with. They Teach The Christian New Testament is the New Covenant. The call their book 'The New Covenant, i.e. The New Testament. David wrote, 'The Torah of The Lord is Perfect,' Psalms 19. Christians do not know that The Torah is The 613 Mitzvot / Laws, The Covenant and The Five Books of Moses. They think of The Torah as being only The Law. Dr. Josh McDowell, A Christian apologist, writes that there are over 200,000 variants, i.e. errors in The Christian New Testament. Dr. Josh McDowell, author of Evidence that Demands A Verdict (Campus Crusade 14th printing July 1977) pp. 41-47. Dr. Norman L. Geisler and Dr. William E. Nix in their book, published by Moody Press, entitled, 'A General Introduction to The Bible,' say there are over 200,000 variants, i.e. error in the Christian New Testament. Norman L. Geisler and William E. Nix, A General Introduction to the Bible (Chicago, Il. Moody Press, tenth printing 1977) p 361. A little common sense is necessary. Why would The Lord God replace The Perfect Torah with the imperfect Christian New Testament?

It is a common practice for Christians to quote from The Hebrew Scriptures and to do like Peter. Dear Friends, Christians were not slaves in Egypt. Christians were not delivered from slavery by the Mighty Power of The Lord God. Christians are not born of the seed of Abraham. The Lord God did not make a Covenant with Christians. Christians are not born into the Covenant The Lord God Made with Abraham. The Lord God did not promise Abraham that The Holy Land of Israel would be given to Christians. Christians are not The Holy Nation. Christians are not a Kingdom of Priests to the World. Christians cannot be part of the Royal Priesthood.

Yet, many Christians and Catholics truly love their perception of The Lord God. They try to be better people because of their belief. They try to be holy because of their belief. They deeply care about the Holy Land and the Holy City, Jerusalem. They support The people of Israel. They visit The Holy Land. Israel and Jerusalem are important to them!! There is a huge misunderstanding because of Peter's teachings. A little research can clear up that misunderstanding. It is important for each of us to verify what we read, see and hear. Each of us MUST do the research to know what we read see and hear is The Truth.

What is the point? The People of Israel are separated from the other nations of the world by The 613 Mitzvot of The Torah from The Lord God. We, The People of Israel must not intermarry because we are Priests to the World. Our intimate associations must be within The People of Israel. Otherwise, we are no longer Holy and no longer separate from the nations of the world. We are no longer listening and following the Voice of the Lord God!

Leviticus 21.6

They shall be Holy to their God, and not profane The Name of their God; for The Offerings of The Lord made by fire, and The Bread of their God, they do Offer; therefore they shall be Holy.

Leviticus 7.8

You shall sanctify [the Lohan] therefore; for he offers The Bread of your God; He shall be Holy to you; for I the Lord, which sanctify you, Am Holy.

The purpose of mentioning These Scriptures is to point to the fact that a Kohan / Priest is held to a higher standard with regards to who he marries. Why? Because 'The Priest Offers The Bread of your God'. The Priest must be Holy to offer sacrifices. Therefore Mitzvot within The Torah set a higher standard, i.e. sets restrictions on who The Priest is permitted to marry. Among The People of Israel, the priesthood is passed from father to son.

The point is that just as the Priesthood has restrictions on who a Priest can marry in a similar way the People of Israel are held to a higher standard, i.e. have a set of restrictions on who they can marry.

Dear Ones, thus far we have learned that one may have sexual relations only with their wife. Then we learned one's wife / husband must be from among The People of Israel. One may not intermarry with the other nations of the world. We must remain separated to inherit The Holy Land of Israel. We must marry within The Tribes of Israel because we are Priests to the world.

Now we are going to learn that the intimate associations, i.e. sexual relations between a husband and wife are prohibited during Niddah, i.e. the time of the month when one's wife has her menstruation cycle.

Intimate Associations Have Restrictions

Leviticus 18.19

You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is apart for her menstrual uncleanness.

When a man and woman agree to marry the custom in the Observant Community is to instruct them in proper intimate associations and the Laws of Niddah, in Leviticus 15. One studies The Observances in The Shulchan Aruch and The Tractate Niddah of The Talmud. Men study with men. Women study with women. The study is normally one on one or in small groups. One studies each day up until the day of the Chassanah / wedding.

Leviticus 15.1 - 18 discusses discharges from the male organ. Some discharges occur when the husband inseminates his wife during permitted marital relations.  All other discharges whether voluntary or involuntary are forbidden. When the husband inseminates his wife both become unclean. When a husband and wife have intimate associations and he discharges both become impure. When a man has a discharge whether voluntary or involuntary, he becomes impure. Leviticus 15 discusses the Observances one follows to return to purity.

Leviticus 15.19 - 33 discusses the impurities a woman or wife has while discharging blood or any type and The Observances one follows to return to purity.

Remember, we began our discussion with Genesis 2.24.

Bereisheit 2.24

עַל־כֵּן יַעֲזָב־אִישׁ אֶת־אָבִיו וְאֶת־אִמּוֹ וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ וְהָיוּ לְבָשָׂר אֶחָד1:1

Genesis 2.24

Therefore shall a man leaves his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh.

Genesis 2.24

It is the right way; it is the higher path for a husband to use his strength properly to leave everything from Aleph to Tav of his Father and everything from Aleph to Tav of his Mother and sexually attach with his wife, and they shall become as one flesh.

When Holy Scripture Says, וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ Vih Daw Vahk - Bih Ee Shih Toh meaning 'And attach / cling With His Wife.' Scripture is speaking of a proper sexual association. The clinging action is for the purpose of having children. It is an action to provide pleasure and release for the purpose of having children. The clinging action is only permitted during the time of the month when a Wife is pure, i.e. not releasing blood.  When a Wife is in the time of impurity, she is 100% OFF LIMITS to her husband. Soulmates sleep in separate beds. They do NOT touch! Not even a hug or kiss is permitted!!  A Husband honors his Wife during this time by not sexually pursuing her.  When a Wife concludes her time of impurity and she visits the Mikvah, she may renew intimate associations with her husband. She renews herself by immersing in the Mikvah. She beautifies herself. Immediately the husband realizes his wife is available to him. They reunite in one bed. The Husband is required to spend plenty of time with his wife and to give her great pleasure. No excuses on either side!! During the days of impurity, there is plenty of time for business meetings, extended Torah studies, and other important responsibilities.

Now this leads us to another very important part of the marriage relationship.  Within marriage, there are immoral acts that are sinful and out of bounds. Sex between husband and wife during that time of the month is out of bounds. Any act of homosexuality between the husband and wife is unnatural and immoral!   You may wonder how can this be?

What is proper Intimate Associations?

The Mitzvot of The Torah Establishes sexual boundaries.

Leviticus 18.22 has been used time and time again by those Teaching against Homosexuality. There is much more to this Scripture. So we are going to take a closer look.

Leviticus 18.22 is used as a comparison between a man who has sexual relationships with women as opposed to a man that has a wrongful sexual relationship with a man.  I used sexual relations with women intentionally.  Why?

Most translations say the following:

Leviticus 18.22

'You shall not lie with men, as with women; it is abomination.'

What is the Scripture saying? 'You shall not lie with men as a husband lies with his wife. It is an abomination.' Scripture is drawing a comparison between a proper sexual association from that of an improper sexual association.

Let's observe the non-Editorialized translation of This Scripture.

Vayikra 18.22

וְאֶת־זָכָר לֹא תִשְׁכַּב מִשְׁכְּבֵי   אִשָּׁה תּוֹעֵבָה הִוא:  כג

Leviticus 18.22

Every action of the male sexual organ shall not be to cohabitant with men as a [husband] cohabitants with his wife.

Scripture is making a comparison between what is natural and what is moral from what is not natural and what is immoral. Sexual relations between a husband and a wife is for the purpose of having children. It is not about being a beast with one's spouse. Husbands, we are to do our very best to give our wife the highest proper pleasure. Let's discuss the comparison.

I cannot understand why any translator would use the word Woman instead of 'Wife'.

Why? As noted before, The Word אִשָּׁה Ee Shaw means Wife and Woman. So אִשָּׁה Ee Shaw maybe translated either way. However, I cannot understand why any translator would say, 'You shall not lie with men, as with women.'

The intent of the Text in Leviticus 18 is to follow the higher path spoke of in Genesis 2.24 of The Perfect Torah.  Why would The Holy Scripture Offer a lower path when we know all the time The Lord God Instructs us to be Holy as He is Holy. See Leviticus 11.45 - 46. To translate a Scripture in a way that may give the impression it may perhaps be alright to have sex with a woman that is not one's wife is not taking the higher path. It borders on bearing false witness. Scripture does not do this. Poor translations do this. As we shall see, our obligation is to follow the higher road.. Sarah was taken twice from Abraham specifically for the sexual pleasure of two kings. The Lord Did not Permit this. See Genesis 20.6 'I also Kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I Did Not let you touch her.'

The Original Language of Leviticus 18.22 carries an intention with it beyond just the translation. The translator MUST consider Ha Torah's Intention along with what is written. The translation  'You shall not lie with men, as with women.' DOES NOT ACCOMPLISH THIS!

As noted before, the way in which this translation is offered implies that perhaps a man could have sex with a woman in which he is not married. Yet, we know The Holy Scripture Does not permit sex outside of Marriage! Men should not have sex with women they are not married to. The Holy Scripture forbids this unless the act of sex is intended as a marriage bond between the woman and the man. In other words, the woman becomes the man's wife through their first sexual act. While this is possible, this is not the comparison The Holy Scripture has in mind. In this instance, translators should use the Word wife instead of a woman. Now I am speaking specifically to women who may have had sexual relations with men not their husband.  Have you ever wondered why you can't get 'that man' out of your thoughts?  It is for exactly this reason.  When you entered that relationship the man became your husband.  The action you have to take now to remedy this situation is to ask for forgiveness and healing from the Lord God.  Teshuvah.  Commit to NOT doing this again and return to the Lord God and follow His Commandments.

There two points to remember.

First, The Lord is Forgiving and Gracious. There is no sin The Lord will not forgive if one repents.

Exodus 34.6.

'And the Lord passed by before [Moses], and Proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, is Merciful and Gracious, Long Suffering, and Abundant in Goodness and Truth'.

Psalms 86.5

For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; and of bountiful love toward all those who call upon You.

Second, one can alter past mistakes by not repeating them. The Lord God Commented to Cain in Genesis 4.7

Bereisheit 4.7

Tzniut Lesson 2 copy.jpg

The Lord God Said to Cain, 'Without any doubt if you ''Improve'' yourself you will be forgiven.' Genesis 4.7

So to any individual who has faultered please remember you can alter the past by not repeating it.

What does Improve mean? Improve means, One takes ownership of their error / sin. After one acknowledges their error, they go in the opposite direction by making a plan not to repeat the error / sin. One offers restitution for any damages. The sinner is forgiven and restored to Derek Ha Torah / The path of Torah. It's that simple!  See Eve Of Creation Restored -  Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk, Eve Of Creation Restored (B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC., First Edition 2013, Cedar Hill, MO)

To understand this Scripture properly, we must understand the comparison that is being made. As already noted, The Holy Scripture takes the higher road.  The higher road here is VERY IMPORTANT.

The Holy Scriptures are crème de la crème. The correct interpretation is Wife rather than a woman. However, the interpretation does not stop with this point. For this to be a Torah comparison, The husband and wife mentioned in Leviticus 18.22 must be crème de la crème. Their relationship as Soulmates, and as Husband and Wife are on the highest level. Using them sets a standard worthy of the Holiness written in Leviticus 11.45 - 46. When we understand this, we understand the comparison is NOT just about men sleeping with men. It is also about heterosexual men who are married who do not live according to the crème de la crème in their marriage relationship. I am speaking of the Intimate Association between husband and wife. The Intimate Association between husband and wife is the highest level of association.

The comparison in this Scripture is with the purest and the highest level of the proper act of sex between a husband and a wife. The husband and wife in Leviticus 18.22 represent the HIGHEST LEVEL of clean moral, pure, holy sex possible!! Anal sex is forbidden. Anal sex with one's wife is forbidden. Anal sex with a man is forbidden. Oral sex is forbidden. Oral sex with one's wife is forbidden. Oral sex with a man is forbidden. Fornication is forbidden. Adultery is forbidden. Rape is forbidden. The fact is that fornication, adultery, and rape are discussed more in the Bible than homosexuality.

So when we place Leviticus 18.22 in perspective, we should see that homosexual actions are unnatural and immoral in the intimate association between Husband and wife!!  Is there any difference between a gay man having anal relations with another gay man from that of a heterosexual man having anal relations with his wife. Ha Torah is Teaching us that both acts are not following what The Creator Has instructed. The same holds true for oral sex. Some actions between heterosexuals even in husband-wife relationships can be improper, unnatural, immoral and sinful.   Leviticus 18.22 prohibits homosexual acts, improper sexual acts, unnatural and immoral sexual actions in heterosexual relationships. Leviticus 18.22 establishes the HIGHEST LEVEL of clean moral, pure, holy sex possible in the intimate association between husband and wife.

We are not going to go into greater detail on this subject. Discussions on Leviticus 15 should be in person with one Rav, or an individual The Rav assigns a Torah Teacher for each to learn.

Dear Ones, A modest individual lives on a high plain of righteousness. Individuals who are modest do not need to be told what Improper Associations are. They already know.

Improper Associations

Leviticus 18 speaks to sexual immorality. We are about to learn that the Mitzvot of The Torah Establishes sexual boundaries. We are not going to discuss each of these boundaries in detail. I think most individuals with a degree of common sense already realize these 'Forbidden Associations' is off limits.

Each of the following 'Forbidden Associations', i.e. relationships is prohibited by The Torah. Each is a Mitzvot of The Torah. These Torah prohibitions apply to B'nai Noach, all those who descended from Noah and his wife, Na'amah. This means each of us! The people of the world are included by The Seven Laws given to Adam and Eve in Genesis 2.16.  Most translators do not mention The Seven Laws when translating. One of The Seven Laws Commands, Do not Steal. The following Observances come from the Law Do Not Steal. The Associations mentioned between Leviticus 18.7 - 18.19 are forbidden by The Lord God. The Lord God is Saying none of these belong to you. You cannot have any of these individuals. They are prohibited to you. Violating any of these Commands constitutes stealing!

Leviticus 18.7

The nakedness of your father, or the nakedness of your mother, shall you not uncover; she is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.

1.  One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's father.

2.  One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's mother.

Leviticus 18.8

The nakedness of your father's wife shall you not uncover; it is your father's nakedness.

3. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's step-mother even if his / her's father is deceased.

Leviticus 18.9

The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or daughter of your mother, whether she was born at home, or born abroad, their nakedness you shall not uncover.

4.  One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's sister or half sister.

Leviticus 18.10

The nakedness of your son's daughter, or of your daughter's daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for theirs is your own nakedness.

5. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with their son's daughter.

6. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with their daughter's daughter.

7. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with their son.

8. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with their daughter.

Leviticus 18.11

The nakedness of your father's wife's daughter, fathered by your father; she is your sister, you shall not uncover her nakedness.

9. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's sister from their father's side.

Leviticus 18.12

You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is your father's near kinswoman.

10. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's aunt from their father's side.

Leviticus 18.13

You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister; for she is your mother's near kinswoman.

11. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's aunt from their mother's side.

Leviticus 18.14

You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother, you shall not approach his wife; she is your aunt.

12. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's uncle from their father's side.

13. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with the wife of one's uncle from their father's side.

Leviticus 18.16

You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son's wife; you shall not uncover her nakedness.

14. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's daughter-in-law.

Leviticus 18.16

You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife; it is your brother's nakedness.

15. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with one's sister-in-law on their brother's side.

Leviticus 18.17

You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, nor shall you take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen; it is wickedness.

16. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with a mother and her daughter.

17. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with a mother and her son's daughter.

18 One is prohibited from having sexual acts with a mother and her daughter's daughter.

Leviticus 18.18

Neither shall you take a rival wife from her sister, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.

19. One is prohibited from having sexual acts with two sisters unless one is deceased.

Leviticus 18.22

Every action of the male organ shall not be to cohabitant [with men] as a [husband] cohabitants with a wife.

Bereisheit  1.27

Genesis 1.27

And He, God Created everything from the Letter Aleph to the Letter Tav of Ha Adam / the man in His  Form in His Form God Created them with male / masculine parts and female / feminine parts He Created them.

The Word זָכָר Aw Chawr means with male parts, i.e. the male reproductive genitals. This is the body part in which The Lord God Created on a man to become firm to enter the hollow part of a female to eject seed. The Word Voo Nih Kay Vawh וּנְקֵבָה means with female parts, i.e. the female reproductive genitals. This is the body part in which The Lord God Created in a woman that is like a tunnel. It is designed to receive the male part and the seed ejected by the male part. The Lord God Intended that the first time the male genital entered the female genital this would be in the consummation of a marriage.  This is the action of becoming one flesh as described by Adam in Genesis 2.24. This is the clinging action that physically bonds a man and a woman together as Husband and Wife.  This is why the translation 'You shall not lie with men, as with women, is wrong.'  Scripture's intent is not to suggest men may have sex with women they are not married to.  Yet, it may give that impression. It's not suggesting that it is O.K. that laying with a woman other than one's wife is fine. It is not fine. Being one's Soulmate is so much more than just having sex.

May each of us be blessed in Observing Proper associations established in The Mitzvot of The Torah!

Dear friends, some of us perhaps wonder why we have issues at home, at work, with our spouse, our children our parents, and perhaps with people we think are our friends and so forth. There are reasons that we have issues. I have issues. Each of us has issues. Are you open to admitting that you have issues? So, we all have issues. How do we deal with our issues?

The base of our issues has to do with our relationship with The Lord God. Our relationship with God reflects on how to take care of ourselves. The Torah teaches us how to take care of ourselves in a most excellent way. The Torah teaches us.  Are willing to learn?

Our discussion is going to preview the great value of a tzniut life. The Torah Teacher, scholar and philosopher, Rashi defines this as The Path of Modesty.

A modest, humble discrete individual is distinguished by virtuous characteristics. A distinguished individual is appropriate, proper and suitable for every circumstance. A distinguished individual avoids inappropriate, indecent communication and immodest clothing.

A virtuous individual is one whose pattern of living has good, desirable moral standards.

How we live and how, we present ourselves is a choice that is founded within us.  How do we take care of ourselves? Do we want to be respected? Do we want to be appreciated?  Do we want to be regarded and valued and esteemed?

The Lord God is our Creator. Each of us was created in Gods Spiritual Image, Genesis 1.27. Our Creators Breath gave us life. We are created from the very best dust of the earth. We were gathered and formed by The Lord God from the dust surrounding The Holy Altar. We are special. This is our physical home. When we die, our body returns to the earth.

Our goal is to live up to our potential. We have The Lord God's Spirit within us, so we do not lack for potential. I understand, sometimes we do not feel or think we are special. And we may feel like our potential is limited. This is not unusual. This is the human part of us.

Life's struggles are between The Spiritual part of us and The human part of us. Our Sages teach that humankind was created from the dust surrounding the Holy Altar.  This tells us the location of our home. We were created from the place where atonement is made. We who are kids... we who are children Fashion by The Lord God sometimes need to go home to be reassured and to be comforted. Our home is the location of the Holy Altar. The altar is a symbol of our place of communication with the Lord God. When we have struggles between The Spiritual part of us and human the human part of us, we can talk to God. God answers us through The Torah. We have questions for The Lord God we find the answers in The Torah. Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, Jerusalem the Eye of the Universe, {New York, N.Y. Publishers: National Conference of Synagogue Youth / Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, 2002} pp. 13,14

We are heavily impacted by the human side.

In this Weeks Parshat, The Torah Informs us that Eve did not assert herself when she was confronted by the serpent. Why? Humankind was made master over all of the animals, beasts fowl, etc.  creation including the serpent.

Adam did not get involved. He was standing near Eve watching and listening.

Appropriately Assertive

Being appropriately assertive is an important lesson to learn from the history of our parents failure. The word history is significant. I say history because if we are not careful, History repeats itself. However, history does not need to repeat itself.  The Lord God included Adam and Eve's failure in The Torah for a purpose. It is to teach us to be appropriately assertive.

Associations

Who do we associate with? Where do we 'hang out?'  Who do we keep company with? Who are our associations? Inappropriate associations lead to problems.  When we have an appropriate associations, we do things that later we are sorry for. We need to be very careful with those we communicate. Adam and Eve were hanging out with the serpent.

Responsibility

It is a mistake to think the responsibility in The Garden was only Adam's. The responsibility of guarding the Garden was shared. Let's return to a principle of Bible Interpretation that I shared in the discussion Forbidden Unions. The principle is Everyone is accountable to The Lord for the Instructions He Gives. We could also establish this point on equality. I discuss equality in my book, Eve of Creation Restored.

Genesis 2.16 - 17

And The Lord God Commanded The Man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it; for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

The Torah clearly states that 'The Lord God Commanded The Man'. Nothing is said of Adam's wife, Eve on his children. 'The Lord God Commanded The Man' Yet, In Genesis 3.16 - 17 Eve is judged by The Lord God. She is punished for eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The Lord God Instructed the Man yet the wife was also accountable. This is a principle. Everyone is accountable to The Lord for the Instructions He Gives. The Lord is accountable, Adam is accountable, Eve is accountable, and all creations is accountable.

How could a just God Judge Eve if she was not equally accountable?

The Torah Informs us that God is Holy. Humankind fails to understand that being Holy is also being accountable. The Lord God is Holy. The Lord God is accountable to Himself. Being Holy and being Accountable has more than one side. One is not only accountable for their actions, but one is accountable for the actions of others. This means we are accountable to hold others responsible for their actions. The Lord God Held Eve accountable for her actions.

Why is it necessary for The People of Israel to learn and know all 613 Mitzvot of The Torah? Please think about this! No one can Observe each of the 613 Mitzvot of The Torah yet each of us is responsible to learn the Mitzvot and to know them. There Observance just for the High Priest. There Observance just forThe Priests. There Observance just for the Levim. There Observance just for Kings. There Observance just for a Nazirite. There Observance just for farmers. There Observance just for women. There are Observances just for wives. There are Observances just for men. There are Observances just for Husbands. There are Observances just for Husbands and wives. There are Observances just for children. There are Observances for Sabbath. There are Observances for each High Holiday.  There are Observance just for live stock.  There Observance just for lost animals.  There are Observance just for the Holy Temple.  There are Observances just for the Holy Place in The Holy Temple.  There are Observances just for the Land of Israel.

Dear friends, ignorance of a Mitzvot cannot be used as a reason to violate a Mitzvot of The Torah!! We are required to learn and to know all 613 Mitzvot to Observe Them. We Observe them by holding each other accountable. When one lives in a Jewish Community, each member of the community is being constantly held lovingly accountable by the other members of the community. When one is sick, the community lovingly assists. When one is hungry, the community lovingly assists. When one is lonely, the community lovingly assists.

When I was a single man every Sabbath and High Holiday one or more members invited be to join them at their Sabbath or High Holiday table table.  Hundreds of time I joined members of the Jewish Community for a Sabbath / High Holiday meal. In a small congregation, it would not be unusual to receive a half dozen invitations on Sabbath Eve or Sabbath day. When I lived outside of the Jewish Community, I walked into the community for Sabbath prayers. When Sabbath concluded men from the community made sure I had a ride home.

We are discussing being accountable. God is Accountable. God Does Not Sin! Other religions state God through The Holy Ghost impregnated Mary, the wife of Joseph. The Lord God did NOT do this. Why? Mary was the wife of Joseph. The Lord God is Accountable to HimSelf. Therefore, The Lord God would not do this. Did The Lord God Hold David accountable for taking Bathsheba? Did the Lord God send The Novie / Prophet Nathan to say to David, 'You are the man'?

When men from the army of Israel would go to war,, they would write a decree of divorce for their wife. The purpose for the decree was to allow their wife to remarry if they were missing in action. Uriah wrote a divorce decree For his wife, Bathsheba. Technically speaking Bathsheba was a divorced woman. Yet, the purpose for The Divorce Decree was not to permit Bathsheba to marry David. Still, this is what happened. The marriage between Bathsheba and David was technically legal. David's intent was wrong! Some of David's actions were wrong. 2 Samuel 12

2 Samuel 12.9 - 11

Why have you despised The Commandment of The Lord, to do evil in His Sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10   And therefore the sword shall never depart from your house; because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.

The Lord God is Holy. Because The Lord God is Holy, He holds us accountable for The Observances of The Torah. In this sense, The Lord God is also Accountable. The Lord God Does NOT sin. Because The Lord God is Holy He Holds us accountable. The Lord God sent the prophet Nathan to inform David that he was being held accountable for his soon. What did David do? He took the wife of Uriah for his wife. He impregnated Uriah Wife.

The Lord God Judged David for his improper action. What David did was wrong in the eyes of The Lord and according to The Torah. Therefore, The Lord God would never take Mary, the wife of Joseph. This is how principals in The Torah Work. The Lord God looked upon the intent as well as the wrongful actions.

Responsibility

The Torah clearly states the purpose the Lord God placed Adam In The Garden.

Genesis 2.15

And the Lord God took everything from the Aleph to the Tav of the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to cultivate it וּלְשָׁמְרָהּ and to Guard it.

Eve's purpose in being in the Garden was the same purpose as Adam's. Humankind was placed in The Garden to guard it. The Word וּלְשָׁמְרָהּ Voo Lih Shaw Mih Raw means 'And to Guard it'. Many translation uses 'Keep it'. The root Word שָׁמְרָ Shaw Mih Raw means 'To Guard'.  Eve had a responsibility to The Lord God. Eve had a responsibility to herself.  Eve had a responsibility to Adam.  Eve had a responsibility to the serpent.  Eve had a responsibility to every being living in The Garden.

Remember we are discussing being Tzniut / Modest. We have a responsibility to the Lord God, to ourselves, to our spouse, to the members of our family, to our community, and to the world just as Eve had. Our service to God is important. Our self-worth is important. How we are esteemed by our spouse, our children, our relatives, our community is important.

Passivity

Let's discuss Adam briefly. Adam is also responsible for the exact same areas as we discussed for his wife Eve. Just because we are discussing Eve does not mean Adam is any less responsible. Adam is equally responsible! Adam had the opportunity to stand up but he didn't! Adam had the opportunity to get involved, but he did nothing. He just let his wife, Eve sin. He let it happen. He stood by and did nothing! He was passive! He accepted what was happening without an active response! Adam could have made a difference.

Adam was appointed to lead by The Lord God. Adam was appointed and established to Guard The Garden of Eden. Adam failed to lead. Adam failed to take charge. What did The Lord God Say to Adam? The Lord God Said to Adam, 'Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it...,' Genesis 3.17 - 18. Please show me in The Holy Scriptures where Eve spoke to Adam. Eve did not speak to Adam. Eve spoke to the Serpent. Adam listened to the voice of his wife, Eve speaking to the serpent.

Adam was NOT punished for listening to the serpent!! Where does Adam was punished for listening to the serpent? The Torah does not Say this.

1. Adam was punished for listening to the voice of his wife.

2. Adam was punished because he violated a Command from The Lord God.

Adam ate from the tree The Lord God Commanded him not to eat from.

What did Eve say? We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God Has Said, 'you shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die,' Genesis 3.2 -3.

God did not say 'You shall not touch it' Eve added these words to the Command that the Lord God Gave. Adding to an Observance is a problem. Attributing the words, 'You shall not touch it' is an issue. Again Adam was passive. He knew what The Lord God Said. He knew the Lord God did not say, 'You shall not touch it', but he did not say a word. Adam heard Eve's voice and did nothing. It may seem so small and insignificant to us, but it's HUGE! Why? Eve altered the intended meaning and purpose. Eve changed the absolute Command, 'You shall not eat of it.'  No reason was given why they should not eat it. God Commanded. That's it! When Eve added, you shall not touch it the Mitzvah was changed. A new impression is given. By adding 'you shall not touch it,' Eve gave the implication 'It's poison!'  , 'you shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die', A rational person might think the reason the Lord God Said, 'You shall not eat of it.' is because the tree is position. Even changed the intent from one of being Observant to what The Lord God Commands to being health conscience. Don't eat it because it's poison. Rabbi Menachem Davis, The Shottenstein Edition Interlinear Chumash Bereishis / Genesis, {Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. First Edition 1st impression 2007}, p 16

David wrote in Psalms 19 that The Torah of the Lord is perfect. If one Letter is changed, then The Torah of The Lord is no longer perfect. Eve's action may have been well intended, but she changed Letters and Words. Eve altered a Mitzvot of The Lord God. We are to pass the 613 Mitzvot of The Torah on exactly as the Lord Said them. We are not permitted to change even one Letter of The Torah.  Can you imagine what The Torah would be like if we were permitted to change a little here and a little there over 5776 Years? What would The Torah be like today if we had had NOTHING valuable to pass on to our children. The reason we have issues with Observance of  Tzniut is because we do not understand or believe The Words of The Torah are sweeter than honey from the honey comb and more valuable that the finest gold. If we truly believed this, we would alter how we live.

The Lord God is Teaching us we cannot be passive when it comes to The Torah. We must be preserved The Torah in It's original condition. A passive individual feels like I can take The Take what the Torah is Teaching today and tomorrow I may pass on what The Torah is Teaching. The Lord God Called Adam out for not stepping up and standing up in defense of what The Lord God Said.

Dear Friends, we must remember Adam was a King, Torah Teacher and Judge. Adam was not Created to be a passive king, a passive Torah Teacher or a passive judge. Being passive was an obstacle Adam faced. Each of us has obstacles we must face and work to improve.

Communication

Giving and receiving communication is one of the important functions of living. How we give and how we receive communications is extremely important. If we give an individual the wrong impression, we are misleading them. If we are frank, perhaps our frankness may hurt another individuals feelings. If we are not appropriately assertive, we may be taking advantage of. Our existence is dependent upon the communication we give or refrain from giving. In a similar way, we need to be very with the communication we receive. It is vital for us to learn the power of giving and receiving communication properly. A distinguished individual avoids inappropriate, indecent communication.

Our communication has a power of giving life or death.

Proverbs 18.21

'Death and life are in the power of the tongue...'

We have the power to communicate encouragement or discouragement.

Proverbs 25.11

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

We have the responsibility to guard ourselves against the wrong type of communication. In America, we have a phone, 'No Call Lists' for a reason. Skilled communicators phone us. We answer the phone. Our guard is down. They use their communication skills to sellers products.

Guarding Ourselves

Being careful with our selection of clothing helps us to guard ourself. The purpose of our clothing is to cover our body. A distinguished individual is appropriate, proper and suitable for every circumstance. This begins with the clothes we select. When we prepare to dress is it important for us to take into account our responsibility to God, our self, and others. Remember if we do not hold ourselves accountable, God will hold us accountable.

There are other ways we guard ourself. I don't answer the door just because someone knocks. I Don't answer the phone just because someone calls. I don't respond to every email. I eliminate pictures from my computer screen. These are ways we can protect ourselves.

Internet dating sites are dangerous. They have predators! The Internet is dangerous. The internet can provide instance access to evil, vile, wretched predators. Adam and Eve let the serpent into their home. They let the serpent into their lives. The serpent was a predator. The Torah describes the serpent as being 'more cunning'. Read Genesis 3.1.

Predators

Each of us must be careful. We are vulnerable to predators. God Help us! Kah Naw Nah Haw Rah! Adam and Eve were covered by The Glory of God yet they were vulnerable. The serpent got to them! The Torah is Teaching us that our power of choice is very great. Predators are cunning. Predators know the power of choice is great. The Torah and The Glory of God do not protect us from our power of choice. The Torah Teaches us to make the right choices. Following the Torah is our choice!

When the Torah Informs us that Adam and Eve were naked, The Torah is Informing us that we are vulnerable. Read Genesis 2.25.

The Holy Scriptures reminds us that a righteous man may fall seven times yet, he gets back up and continues. See Proverbs 24.16

The point is, it's easy to be caught off guard. Even the best of us sometimes error. It is necessary to be very careful!

Emunah

We must have implicit Faith in The Lord God and The Teachings of The Torah!! What did the serpent do? The serpent questioned Eve. Questions open doors! The serpent used a question to challenge what God Said. The serpent lied!  The serpent mischievously reinterpreted what God Said, for his own advantage. He lied. Eve looked upon the forbidden tree and lusted. Eve sinned. She took the f forbidden fruit. It did not belong to her. She stole.  She became a thief. She took what did not belong to her. Then she offered her stolen fruit to Adam.

After Eve ate the fruit and after Adam ate the fruit The Torah informs us that her eyes were opened. Dear Ones after we sin, and after we make mistakes, it becomes so clear to us. Our eyes are opened.

Forgive Ourself

We may feel like the mistakes we have made are so foolish. We are ashamed of our errors. We don't want anyone to know. We blame ourselves. We blame others. We may put ourselves down. We put others down. Our errors can take us in so many wrong directions. Making mistakes can be depressing. Mistakes can lead us to make more mistakes. Adam separated from Eve for 130 years. Adam was righteous. Eve was righteous. On the other hand their son, Cain, was evil, defiant, rebellious, disobedient and a murderer! During the time, Adam separated from his wife because he was so angry Cain populated the earth with people like him. One sin led to others.

Forgive Others

Eventually, Adam forgave Eve. They had many more children. Each of us is descendants of these children.

Adam and Eve were punished for their sins. Then The Lord God Forgave them. How can any of us ask The Lord to forgive us on Rosh Chodesh and Yom Kippur if we are unwilling to forgive others?  We must avoid the actions of saying we forgive yet living like we forgave nothing.

The purpose for this Learning Group is to help us to learn these principles about Modesty in The Torah so that we can be the esteemed and distinguished individuals The Lord God desires us to be. The choice is ours. What will we choose?

Are we going to believe God?  Do we desire to please God or ourselves? We are just beginning to learn the rewards of being Tzniut / Modest. We learned methods on how to protect ourselves. We learned that when we employee modesty this helps us raise or to rebuild our self-worth.

There is one area that we have not discussed. The Lord God Blessed Adam and Eve. Read Genesis 1.28. Do we understand what it means to be blessed by The Lord God? Adam and Eve had the seal of approval from the Lord God. They walked in His Ways and Observed His Statutes until they sinned. One is blessed when you observe the Torah. This is the only way to receive and keep The Blessing of The Lord God.

May The Lord Blesses help us in learning and following these principles in The Torah.  May we be successful.

The Lord God Established during Creation that one should only mate with their own kind. Those that teach The Lord God impregnated Mary the wife of Joseph in the Christian New Testament, Matthew 1:18 DO NOT UNDERSTAND The Holy Scriptures Forbid a union between The Lord God and humans. So we will review why it is impossible for The Creator to have impregnated Mary, the wife of Joseph.

First, Mary was the wife of Joseph. Impregnating another man's wife violates The Holy Bond of Marriage Established by The Lord God.

Second, Leviticus 18 Teaches us about forbidden unions. We can understand it is wrong to have physical relations with animals, but some cannot understand why it is wrong for The Lord God to impregnate Mary, the wife of Joseph.

We have difficulty relating to The Lord God, so Scripture uses anthropomorphisms.

We misunderstand The Holy Scriptures use of anthropomorphisms. The Holy Scripture uses anthropomorphisms like 'The hand of The Lord' or, 'The hand of God' or, 'the eye of The Lord' or, 'The Lord God Walking in the garden' or, 'The eyes of The Lord' are not real. We call God our Father. We ascribe physical features to The Lord God. The more we personalize The Lord God we think of God as having human features. These are figures of speech. God is a Spirit. God does not have eyes, hands, ears, or feet like humans have.

Third, The Lord God is Holy. Our issue is that we cannot begin to comprehend The Holiness of The Lord God. It greatly distresses me to see the IGNORANT way humans use The Holy Name. Some humans write His Four Letter Name like their own. Where is the respect for The Holy Name of God? How is His Holy Name separated?

Dear Friends, if you are my friend... if you want to learn from me then DO NOT WRITE OR SAY THE HOLY FOUR LETTER NAME OF The Lord!! Isaiah wrote, 'they shall 'Sanctify My Name', and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear The God of Israel.' Isaiah 29.23 Those who use The Holy Four-Letter Name of The Lord inappropriately do not understand what it means to 'Sanctify My Name.' Yet, we understand the importance and value of carefully handling rare antiques that are NOT holy!

The Lord's Name is sanctified by those separate and guard His Holy Name. His Name is not to be used by any of us!! The Lord's Name is so Holy that His Name is only spoken by The High Priest on Yom Kippur!! Why do we use the word HaShem, meaning the Name? Why do we use the Word Ad-ni in Prayers? It is because The Lord's Name is So very Holy!! When one fails to grasp the Holiness of The Lord's Name, they will not understand God would NEVER impregnate Mary, the wife of Joseph or any human!! Our purpose in this world is to sanctify His Holy Name. We do not write or say the Four-Letter Name of The Lord. You cannot be my friend if you do this.

Leviticus 11.45

'For I am the Lord that brings you out of the land of Egypt, to be God to you. You shall, therefore, be Holy, for I Am Holy.'

Some do not understand the concept of what it means to be Holy. The Lord God is Separated from everyone and everything. None of us can exist outside of a zone in which The Lord God has constricted His Revelation of Light so that we may exist. This zone is called Tzimtzum.

Aryeh Kaplan The Bahir ( Lanham, Maryland, Rowman & Littlefield Publishers) 1st edition, 2004 p xxii.

Fourth is the Separation of Kind with Kind

Genesis 1.11

And He, God Said, תַּדְשֵׁא הָאָרֶץ 'Let the earth sprout forth' Those interested in knowing The Truth should take not of The Word תַּדְשֵׁא.

The First Letter is NOT part of the Word דֶּשֶׁא meaning. Grass or to sprout forth. The Letter ת Tav frequently is added to the front of a Word as a Sign. The Letter ת Tav is the last Letter of אוֹת Oht meaning 'Sign'. In Genesis 4.15 we read that The Lord Placed a Sign on Cain. The Sign was The Letter ת Tav. Rabbi Michael Munk The Wisdom In The Hebrew Alphabet Mesorah Publications, Brooklyn, N.Y. 1990), p. 219

And The Lord Said to The Angel Gabriel, 'Go through The midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark [of The Letter Tav] upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and who cry for all the abominations that are done in its midst thereof etc.' This Letter Tav was written on forehead of The Righteous with ink. The Tav written in ink denoted תִּחְיֶה meaning 'You shall live. The Tav was written on the foreheads of the wicked with blood denoted תָּמוּת meaning you shall die. Sabbath 55a. The Letter ת Tav represents אֱמֶת Truth and אוֹת A Sign. So when we see The Letter ת Tav in front of a Word that does not begin with The Letter ת Tav, this is A Sign to us. What is אוֹת The Sign? The reader is informed by the Sign of The Letter ת Tav to stop and search for a hidden revelation.

And to the others, He Said in my hearing, 'Go you after [The Angel Gabrial] through The City, and strike; let not your eye spare, nor have any pity;  Slay utterly old men and young men, young girls, and little children, and women; but do not come near any man upon whom is the mark of The Letter ת Tav ; and begin at my sanctuary. In Genesis 1.11 The Sign of The Letter ת Tav is in front of דֶּשֶׁא informs us of the End of Days prophecy in Deuteronomy 33 of אֵשְׁ דָּת The Fiery Torah.

תַּדְשֵׁא

Tah Dih Say / To Sprout forth

ת400 ד4 ש300 א1 = 705

אֵשְׁ דָּת

א1 ש300 ד4 ת400 = 705

Aish Dat / The Fiery Torah.

Just as The Firey Torah will be sealed upon the hearts of The People of Israel In Jeremiah 31 'kind producing with kind' is sealed upon earth. For those who are interested, there is no way translators can translate The significance of The Letter Tav being placed in front of a Word. We return to Genesis 1.11.

Genesis 1.11

And He, God Said, תַּדְשֵׁא הָאָרֶץ 'Let the earth sprout forth' grass, herbs, from seed, Fruit trees [from seed] לְמִינוֹ each made after it's own kind [of seed], from seed that is within it on the earth and it was so.

The Lord God MADE each seed-yielding fruit tree after in own fruit kind. Mixing fruit trees is forbidden! Engrafting one fruit tree into another fruit tree is forbidden. Rabbi A. Y. Kahan The Taryag Mitzvot (Brooklyn, N.Y. Keser Torah Publications 1987, 1988) pp 161 - 162.

Leviticus 19.19

Observe everything from Aleph to Tav of My Statutes. תִּשְׁמֹרוּ Each of you shall guard your cattle. Do not mate to cross breed [mingle] to create a crossbreed. Do not plant your field with mixed seed. And do not mix a garment with [wool and linen fibers] with any combination. Do not put it on you! See Deuteronomy 22.11

Genesis 1.12 - דֶּשֶׁא עֵשֶׂב מַזְרִיעַ זֶרַע לְמִינֵהוּ

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed לְמִינֵהוּ after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, לְמִינֵהוּ after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Genesis 1.21

And God Created the great whales, and every kind of creature that creeps which live in the waters, לְמִינֵהֶם after of it's kind, and every of winged bird, לְמִינֵהוּ of its kind, and God Saw that it was good.

Genesis 1.24

And God Said, 'Let the earth bring forth living creatures, לְמִינָהּ each after its kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth לְמִינָהּ each after its kind,' and it was so.

Genesis 1.25

And thus God Made the beasts of the earth לְמִינָהּ each of its kind, and cattle לְמִינָהּ each of its kind, and everything from Aleph to Tav of all that creep upon the earth לְמִינֵהוּ each of its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Genesis 7.2 - 3

Of every clean beast, you shall take to you seven pairs, the male and his female; and of beasts that are not clean one pair, the male, and his female. Of birds also of the air by seven pairs, the male, and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

The Angels Shamchazai [also know as Chazai or Hazai] and Azael looked upon the daughters of man.

Genesis 6.2

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were pretty; and they took them as wives all those whom they chose.

Giants resulted from these unnatural forbidden unions between the Nefilim, i.e the fallen angels and the daughters of men. The World was destroyed because of them, Genesis 6.11. The point is that The Lord God Established each of us to have and enjoy physical relationships with our own kind.

Every reference in The Holy Scriptures of Angels is in the masculine. The Lord God permitted Angeles to take on the form of men, yet Angels were not men. The Angels Shamchazai and Azael were permitted to take on the entire for of man so they could be tested as man is tested. They failed. They became vile sinners. They were destroyed in the flood.

Fifth, God is Echad! This means God does not reproduce HIMSELF! Otherwise, He would not be Echad. The Lord God is NOT three in one. The Lord God is ONLY One!

It is for these reasons and other that the Lord God did not impregnate Mary, the wife of Joseph.

Dear Friends so many things are happening on Rosh Ha Shanah it may feel overwhelming. We will discuss some of the activities on Rosh HaShanah but first, for a minute let's focus on one area each of us can do. Let's focus on an Observance each of us can understand. Each of us have at one time or another experienced the warmth of a kind act. We know how good kinds feels. What's think back to a time when someone did something for us that made us feel so good. Kindness has many shapes and forms that make others feel so incredibly good. Each of us possesses the power to be kind. Solomon wrote:

Mishlei 16.24

צוּף־דְּבַשׁ אִמְרֵי־נֹעַם מָתוֹק לַנֶּפֶשׁ וּמַרְפֵּא לָעָצֶם: כה

Proverbs 16.24

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

אִמְרֵי־נֹעַם Ee Mih Ray - Noh Ahm - 'Pleasant Words'

Pleasant Words represent Virtue. Virtue is behavior that shows high moral standards of goodness and decency. Being virtuous requires us to respect others. Sweet talk is cheap and sometimes disgusting. Solomon's points to the foundation behind 'Pleasant words'. Solomon is saying the one who is really intelligent has control of her / his words.

We from time to time one may feel irritable and grumpy. Sometimes things don't go the way one needs or wants. One may spew a few naughty words. Perhaps someone does something to us and we retaliate with a curse. Each of us knows what it feels like to be snapped at, criticized, the brunt of another's unhappiness. It is obvious that these are not Pleasant Words.

We know the difference between Pleasant Words and naughty words. Each of us are acquainted with attitudes and words that cause pain. We do not need to be a Rabbi or a Torah Teacher to understand the point Solomon is making.

If one is looking for a husband or wife, do you think they would look for a crude nasty mouth person? Do you think they would look for a person with anger and abuse issues? A crude nasty mouth person is revolting. And abrasive person is toxic.

When one looks for a mate they look for a gentle kind warm hearted loving tender and understanding individual who speaks pleasant words. Even though many of us are not looking for a mate this is the type of individual that we should strive to be. This should be our goal.

We understand that it is the foundation behind what we say. It is very good to see Pleasant Words. Very good to uplift others Kind Words and Deeds. It is excellent to control our emotions, our feelings and our attitudes when communicate to others. We do not want to be a source of pain or hurt.

Just as Solomon said 'Pleasant Words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.' Each of us are attracted to pleasant words that are spoken by individuals whose actions are in agreement with what they're saying. This is like honey to Soul. On Rosh HaShanah we enjoy honey because honey is sweet. We want our New year to be sweet like honey. Now that we realize our words are like a honeycomb we should bring in The New Year with plenty of pleasant Words. Pleasant words gives life and health to each of us. David wrote,

Psalms 19

The Torah of The Lord is Perfect, reviving the soul; The testimony of The Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The Statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The Commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of The Lord is clean, enduring for ever; The Judgments of The Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even very fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

David reveals to us that the pleasant words which are sweeter than honey Words of ha Torah.

Proverbs 25.11

Solomon said, A Word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

At Rosh Ha Shanah we dip slices of the Apple in honey. The apple represents The Garden of Eden our first parents were expelled from because of sin. Each Rosh Hashanah we mystically returned to the place of judgment in The Garden of Eden. The garden of Eden has the scent of an apple orchard. Gan Eden is pleasant. The Apple is bitter sweet. An apple may have a tart taste and a sweet taste. What does this mean? It is not fun to be judged. It is not enjoyable to have to review one's sins. The Apple represents the place where our first parents sent. That is bitter. Being expelled from The Garden of Eden was bitter for first parents. Now we have the opportunity to take the bitterness the tartness of the Apple and change its taste by dipping the Apple in the honey of The Words of The Torah.

In Genesis 3.9 the Lord God Called to Adam. Adam and Eve were in hiding because of their sin. They tried to cover their bodies that were left naked after His Divine Presence left them. The Word וַיִּקְרָא Vay Yee Kih Raw means and He Called. The root Word is יִּקְרָא Yee Kih Raw meaning to call. The Gematria for Yee Kih Raw is 311. The Lord God did not call to Adam and Eve in a harsh manner. The Lord God's Call was with Pleasant Words even though He knew Adam and Eve had already sinned.

יִּקְרָא

Yee Kih Raw / to call

י10 ק100 ר200 א1 = 311

אִישׁ

Eesh / Husband / Man

א1 י10 ש300 = 311

הָאִשָּׁה

Haw Ee Shaw / The Wife

ה5 א1 ש300 ה5 = 311

From These Three Words we learn how the Husband is to call to his wife. The Letter ה Hey is used as an article that elevates the Word used in conjunction with it. Here it is הָאִשָּׁה The Wife. The Word עַל means upon or near. When the man על העשה calls upon his wife he calls with Pleasant Words. The Wife is above him Spiritually. We know this because of the Article, i.e. the Letter ה Hey that proceeds the Word אִשָּׁה Wife. He the husband shows his wife respect through the Pleasant Words he calls to her with. We see this with the combination of the Words על העשה meaning to call to one's wife. The Gematria is 411.

עַל־הָאִשָּׁה

Ahl Haw Eeshaw / [To Call] upon One's Wife

ע70 ל 30 ה5 א1 ש300 ה 5 = 411

It is a little different when the Wife calls upon her husband. The husband is not on the same Spiritual level has his wife. In this instance the husband does not have the Letter Hey proceeding him. Yet even though this is the situation the wife because of her lofty Spiritual position follows The Lord God's example when she calls to her husband. She uses Pleasant Words.

עַל־אִישׁ

Al Eesh / [To Call] upon One's Husband.

ע70 ל30 א1 י10 ש300 = 411

The Gematria of Ee Mih Ray - Noh Ahm - 'Pleasant Words' is

אִמְרֵי־נֹעַם

Ee Mih Ray - Noh Ahm - 'Pleasant Words'

א1 מ40 ר200 י10 נ50 ע70 ם40 = 411

My intent is to show Mystically that a great deal of respect must exist between The Wife and the Husband. One should be careful to speak Pleasant Words. The Words should bring sweetness to the soul. the Words should be rich in Torah. The Words should restore. /The Words should bring health.

Friends, I used the example of a husband and wife. The same principles apply to each of us.

May each of us join at the Yom Tov Table this evening with plenty of pleasant words. May each that read and follow the words written in this discussion be written in the Book of Life for 5776 and all eternity.

Dear Friends, I forgive anyone who has wronged me in any way this past year or thought-out my lifetime.

Dear Friends, I am sorry for any Word or deed that I have done to you or any other being in this past year and throughout my life time. I ask forgiveness.

לְשָׁנָה טוֹבָה תֵּכָּתֵבוּ וְתֵחָתֵמוּ

Lih Shw Naw Toh Vaw Tay Caw Tay Voo Vih Tay Chaw Tay Moo

'May you be inscribed and sealed in The Book of Life.'

This evening Rosh HaShanah begins. Rosh HaShanah is a very important time. Wives prepare round Challah Loafs, Honey, Apples and other special foods for this evenings. Wives will light Yom Tov Candles before The holiday begins and say a Special Brachah / blessing. Husbands will say evening prayers and then return home to celebrate The Day of Remembrance.

Rosh HaShanah is the birthday of the world. We are entering year 5776 F.C. [From Creation]. Rosh HaShanah is the Day of Judgment. Many each of us have a favorable verdict. May are names continue to be written in The Book of Life.

As we prepare to enter this new year each of us have important responsibilities even though we may not realize what they are at this time. In the past week or so new members have joined my Facebook page. I want each individual to feel welcome. Please join our learning groups and lets learn the Torah together. God willing, each week I write one or more posts. The posts are placed in one or more Learning Groups. New members have expressed a desire to learn with me. I am honored. The way we learn together is by belonging to a Learning Group. Members are welcome to join as many groups as they choose. Our emphasis is upon improving ourselves and being better individuals.

We say that Rosh HaShanah is The Day of Remembrance. The Lord God Remembered Sarah in Genesis 21, Rachel in Genesis 30, and Hannah in 1 Samuel 1. We say Rosh HaShanah is the Day of Judgment. Beth Shammai Taught, 'There will be three groups at the Day of Judgment, one of thoroughly righteous, one of thoroughly wicked, and one of intermediate.' Rosh ha Shanah 16b.23. We know Adam And Eve were judged for their sin on Rosh HaShanah. in the ninth of the day in which Adam and Eve were Created on The Lord God Instructed them in The Seven Laws, i.e. He was Commanded not to eat of the tree, in the Tenth hour, Adam and Eve sinned; in The Eleventh Hour, Adam and Eve tried, and in the twelfth he was expelled from The Garden of Eden and departed. Sanhedrin 38b, Dr. Akiva Gamliel Belk, The 2016 Bible Journeys Calendar (Cedar Hill, Missouri - B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC Publishers, 2015) September.

We have been praying to The Lord God leading up to Rosh Ha Shanah asking that our sins be forgiven. We pray that all the sins of The People of Israel be forgiven. We should pray that all the sins of humanity be forgiven. For many years now during the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah... the Festival of Trumpets... i.e., the Festival of the Blowing of the Shofar... the Birthday of the World... the Day of Judgment... I have walked to a live body of water, one that has fish, a creek... a stream... a river... a lake... a reservoir... to observe the Tashlich Prayer, meaning "You {God} Will Cast all their sins into the depths of the sea," Micah 7:19

Receiving forgiveness for our sins is not a complicated matter. The Lord God Taught that when sin lies at our door we must improve. In other Words, we acknowledge our failing, we make a plan to not repeat our wrong. We reverse course. We turn ourself around. We do in another direction a better direction. We improve. We pay restitution for our error. We do not repeat our error. Yet, some time we repeat our error over and over again. Sometimes we repeat our errors in defiance. Now we are at Rosh Ha Shanah. We are about to be judged. What do we do? We improve!

The Day of Judgment humankind departed The Garden of Eden. The Prophet Isaiah Prophesied that on this same Day, i.e. The Day of Judgment, the outcasts among Israel will be gathered back.

Rosh Ha Shanah is the Day when we blow The Shofar.

Rosh Ha Shanah is the Day at sometime in the future that Messiah will come.

Isaiah 27.13

And it shall come to pass on that Day, that the great shofar shall be blown, and those shall come who were lost in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship The Lord on the Holy Mount at Jerusalem.

This immediately follows the Shmittah Year. Our Rabbis Teach that the end of the Seven Year Cycle The Son of David, i.e. Messiah will come on The First Day of The First Year of the New Seven Year Cycle. Sanhedrin 97a

Dear Friends so many things are happening on Rosh Ha Shanah it may feel overwhelming. For a minute let's focus on one area each of us can do. Let's focus on an Observance each of us can understand.

The remainder of this discussions lists areas The People of Israel are to remember. I would like to discuss two

Genesis Twenty-four and A Half

Keturah's Faithfulness

Genesis 25 begins with Abraham taking back his former wife Hagar whose name was changed to Keturah meaning beautiful.

Genesis 25.1

Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

We need to back up a little...

How did it feel to Hagar and to Yishmael to learn that the daughter of an Egyptian princess', i.e. Hagar and her son would not inherit Avraham's great wealth and power? Ha Torah does not inform us of what Hagar thought when she learned that Sarah would have a son.

Genesis 17.21

But My covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time in the next year.

That day Abraham and Sarah connected. Sarah became pregnant. Sarah carried Isaac for Seven months. She gave birth on Passover. So Genesis 21.1 informs us of Sarah's impregnation. Verse 2 informs us of Isaac's birth. Verse 2 informs us that The Lord God Kept His Promise that Abraham and Sarah would have children as written in Genesis 15.1 - 5 and 18.10 - 14.

Genesis 21.8 - 14

And the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had born to Abraham, mocking. And she said to Abraham, Cast out this slave and her son; for the son of this slave shall not be heir with my son, with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. And God said to Abraham, Let it not be grievous in your sight because of the lad, and because of your slave; in all that Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac shall your seed be called. And also of the son of the slave will I make a nation because he is your seed. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away; and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

Hagar struggled with her relationship with Sarah. It was challenging to be taken from the place in Egypt and to be given to a wealthy nomad's wife to be her slave. After Ten years, Sarah did not give en Avraham children so according to the system of the land she gave her husband a new wife, Hagar. Hagar conceives soon after the marriage. Sarah realizes that it is her that cannot conceive. Sarah is hurt and angry.  Hagar taunts her pregnancy in front of Sarah. Their Master Servant relationship detritus. Hagar runs away then returns after divine revelation. The stress between them comes to a halt when Dismal throws javelins around Yitzchok when he is playing. Sarah demands that Hagar and Dismal be removed. Sarah said to Avraham, 'Cast out this slave and her son; for the son of this slave shall not be heir with my son, with Isaac..'

When Avraham sent Hagar out with nothing more than a loaf of bread and a pouch of water. Avraham could have provided much more for Hagar and Yishmael, but he choose not too. He could have given them camels and servants.  He could have provided them with a lovely place to live.  Why?

Even though for awhile Hagar lost her way she quickly found it.  As a wife to Avraham, she remained isolated from other men. She learned Ha Torah. She Observed the Mitzvot of Ha Torah. She sent Yishmael back to Avraham where he learned Ha Torah and became an honorable attendant in Avraham's home. Avraham instructed Yishmael along side Eliezer.  In Genesis 22.3 - 5 we Observe Avraham instructing them with these Words, 'Stay here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come back to you.'

How do we know that Avraham instructed both Yitzchok and Yishmael?

Genesis 18.19

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

Ha Torah does not say, child. Ha Torah Says children. This means more than one child. Eliezer was part of Avraham's household that received instruction in Ha Torah.

Abraham kept the way of the Lord.

This means Abraham guarded the Observances in The Holy Scriptures. There are 613 Observances in The Holy Scriptures. Not all apply to each of us. Abraham kept those that applied to him. He carefully followed what The Lord God Commanded. He was meticulous with the Observances that applied to him.. Abraham was just. He was honest. He judged situations fairly. He did not deviate. He stayed on the path of The Lord.  He did not wander or stray. He taught his children and those living with him to follow the Observances that applied to them. Following the Observances worked for Abraham. Following the Observances will also work for us. First we must learn what the Observances are and then which apply to us individually.

This was about 37 years from when Hagar and Dismal were put out.

We pick up the story with Genesis 22.

Genesis 22

And it happened after these events, that God Tested Abraham, and He Said to him. 'Abraham!'

and Abraham responded, 'Here I am.'

and He Said to him, 'Take your son.'

and Abraham said I have two sons,

and God Said, 'your only son,'

and Abraham said 'Yishmael is an only son to Hagar and Isaac is an only son to Sarah.'

and God Said, 'the one whom you love.'

and Abraham said, 'I love Yishmael, and I love Yitzchok.'

and God Said, 'take Yitzchok and go to the land of Moriah sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I will designate to you.'

Dear Reader, Abraham had many scars. He bled some. He was tried and proven. Abraham remained strong. How many of us can say when we have been tried we remained strong?

How Did Abraham do this? It's not complicated. Abraham loved and worshiped the Creator. Abraham Obeyed the Creator.

Genesis 22.3 - 5

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and broke the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far away. And Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come back to you.

Our Sages Teach that Sarah died when she was informed that Abraham Sacrificed her son Isaac. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 861

Sarah died from the shock that Abraham offered her only child as a sacrifice. How could he do this? Why would he do such a thing? Sarah died without knowing Isaac was saved by a Messenger of The Lord. Sarah died without seeing Isaac marry. Sarah died thinking her life had been for not. Sarah did not meet Rivkah her daughter-in-law to be. Sarah did not have the privilege of dancing at Isaac's wedding. Sarah did not enjoy her grandchildren. Sarah died at the age of 127 years. She did not live to realize the fulfillment of many of her dreams.  This is how death is. When one dies, one cannot complete their plans.

Now Avraham 'Again' takes a wife. As we shall learn in Genesis 25 taking a wife again was in reference to Keturah. Hagar became a seriously observant woman with an excellent reputation. Hagar's Torah Observance was so great the community called her ketubah meaning one who is beautiful. This was a complement toKeturah from among the community regarding her Torah Observance.

We can use this example of the struggle between Sarah and Hagar and Yishmael and Yitzchok as a guide to family members who have been mean and who have rejected us. Notice how Hagar became beautiful. Notice how Yishmael the older brother honored Yitzchok. Notice how Yishmael set aside his honor for Yitzchok. Both Keturah and Dismal were humble and contrite. Both were invited back to be apart of Avraham's live and live in him home.  When individuals reverse improper actions such as Hagar and Yishmael did they should be invited back.  They should be welcomed with open arms.

On the other hand when relatives continue in the same deceitful pattern and using the same mean tactics as in the past they cannot be welcomed back. They remain bogged down with the same issues as in the past.  Nothing has changed except time.

Exodus 35.3

לֹא־תְבַעֲרוּ אֵשׁ בְּכֹל משְׁבֹתֵיכֶם בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת1:1

Exodus 35.3

You shall not kindle fire in any of your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.

Fire is both a representation of man's technological mastery and as a symbol of man and Woman's emotional drives

Individuals must practice how to control their technological advances as we will discuss in Chapter twelve. There we will discuss controlling our technological advances. In this chapter we want to focus of individual responsibilities of controlling emotions, and desires and how it is accomplished through marriage.

An individual that is single is not benefiting from the lessons of marriage. Marriage is a union between a man and a woman. Marriage is called 'Holy Matrimony'. The man is separated to his wife and the wife is separated to her husband. NOTHING is suppose to come between them all the days of their lives, Kaw Naw Nah Haw Raw!!

The goal of 'Holy Matrimony' is to learn how to live in peace and harmony with another individual that is the opposite of you. Both learn to share. Both learn how to cooperate. Both learn how to function as a unit. Both learn how to successfully raise children together. Both learn how to worship together. Both learn how to observe Sabbath and Holy Days together. Then there are the relative issues. They are complex also. Both learn how to get along with their spouses relatives. Husband and wife do this their entire lives while living near a very hot bed, FIRE! Remember the old saying, Don't play with FIRE? Remember old Smoky the bear? Only you can prevent Forest Fires!

In marriage relationships a אִישׁ husband has his own FIRE and a אִשָּׁה wife has her own FIRE.

אִיש

The Letter Yud i.e. the center Letter for אִישׁ meaning man represents strength. The Letter Yud is the first Letter of the Lord's Holy Name. The Lord Placed the Letter Yud between the Aleph and The Shin so man would have the possibility of peace and happiness. The Letter Yud stands next to the Letter Hey. The Letter Yud represents the Ten Commandments that expand out to all 613 Commands of the Torah. Man is suppose to follow the Commands that pertain to him. In addition the Letter Yud represents strength, the Gevurah of man. Man is supposed to use his strength wisely, i.e. to keep the Letter Aleph and the Letter Shin apart. Use the Yud to prevent fire. Otherwise there is fire. God, please help us. It takes a real man to use the Letter Yud wisely to avoid hot burning fire.. God Assist us please. Man was designed to walk a tight line. Man was designed to walk on egg shells.

אִשָּׁה

The Letter Hey diffuses the fire... The Letter Hey controls the fire. The Letter Hey is the second Letter in the Holy Name of the Lord. The Letter Hey stands next to the Letter Yud. The Letter Hey is represents the Five Books of the Torah. Inside the Five Books are the 613 Commands. The wife is required to follow the Commands that pertain to her. So to speak, the fire has to pass through the Divine Space, i.e the 613 Commands, the Five Books.. In other words the fire is calmed and supervised with kindness when it passes through the Letter Hey, Divine Supervision. The fire is tempered. A wife was designed to walk on a tight wire. A wife was designed to walk on egg shells.

Dear Reader this is how our Creator designed the man and the woman. Good relationships learn how to avoid fire while having plenty of warmth for comfort. We have this potential for fire but we don't have to have fire.

The Letter Aleph represents God's Name. The Letter Aleph represents one thousand. The Letter Aleph is the first Letter for both אִיש Man and אִשָּׁה Woman. When the Letter Aleph is spelled out the Gematria is 111. This tell us God is 1. God is 1. God is 1.

The Letter Shin שָׁלוֹם means peace. The Letter Shin also represents שַׁדַּי The Almighty One. Before one enters their home or their bedroom a Mezuzah is attached to the door frame. On the Mezuzah are the Letters reminding the Husband and wife שַׁדַּי The Almighty One. When the Letter Shin is spelled out the Gematria is 360. This tells us that the relationship between a husband and wife needs to be a complete circle. There are no corners. This represents the eternal relationship of their marriage. When the Aleph (111) and the Shin (360)_ are joined side by side properly they combine to represent מְלֵאֹת Mih Lay Oot meaning Complete or Fullness.

מְלֵאֹת

Mih Lay Oot

means Complete or Fullness.

מ40 ל30 א1 ת400 = 471

אֶלֶף

Aleph

One or One Thousand - Represents God

א1 ל30 ף80 = 111

שין

Shin

The Almighty One

ש300 י10 ן50 = 360

Total 111 + 360 = 111 + 360 = 471

Husband and wife are only complete and full with each being in proper balance.

Chapter 20 - Where Torah does Not Exist

Bereisheit 20.1 - 18

Dear Reader, have you asked yourself one of the following questions?

Am I normal?

Do I see things differently than others?

Am I different?

What makes me different?

Do my co-workers see me as being strange or odd?

Awhile back I chose to become part of a 501 c 3 organization that helps the community. This was not a religious organization. They are known for doing a lot of good yet it is a crusty place to visit... It smells awful. My first visit was uncomfortable. They do a lot of things I have no interest in. I looked around. It was clear I was different. What made me different? Why did I feel uncomfortable? Why did this organization that has helped so many down through the years make me feel entirely out of place?

Reader can you identify?

Do you work in a place that is not comfortable? Do you attend a school that is not comfortable? Do you live in a home which is not comfortable?

My wife, Revi arrived home after school one afternoon to find her clothes in a single box on the front porch. Can we imagine what it must of felt like for a sixteen year old woman to be tossed out of the family home. How did the most precious of places become such a place of pain?

Dear Reader, we look at our home as a place of safety from the world where those around us tenderly love us, support us, nurture us and encourage us. Our home is supposed to be a safety net, God Willing, a place where we can get away from the world. Unfortunately one's home can be changed into a very undesirable place quickly.

It was 8:00 am in the morning. It was time to report to work. I was a little early. Shortly after entering the large manufacturing building while walking towards the time clock a fellow worker cut me off. He got in front of me. He said what are you doing here?

I responded, I'am preparing to punch my time card and begin working.

He said, You don't work here any more.

I inquired, Why?

He said something like, We don't want any dirty Jews around here!!

Shortly after the conversation began about a dozen men from that company surrounded me. I was in the center of a circle that formed. They began terrorizing me. It happened so fast. It felt like they were about to hurt me when the owner of the company came rushing out of his office ordering them to halt. He took me back into the office and said, You cannot work here! File a law suit if you will. I will pay it but you cannot work here. File for unemployment, I will pay it but you cannot work here. What happened? They found out I was Jewish...

Dear Ones there may be times throughout our lives where we will be forced to operate in areas where we may feel uncomfortable. Will we be required to interact outside of our comfort zone?

Avraham was placed in a situation where he was forced to interact and associate with the people of Gerar. He was new to the area. Things got off to a rugged start. It was very uncomfortable for he and Sarah and their followers. Lets define why it was challenging. Our Sages say that Avraham moved because He saw the cities of Sedom were destroyed and travelers ceased from passing by. In addition, Avraham chose to distance himself from Lot who had acquired a bad reputation because he was incestuous with his daughters.

Genesis 20.1-9

And Abraham journeyed from there toward the Negev, and lived between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister; and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God Came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, you are but a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken; for she is a man's wife. But Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, Lord, will you slay also a righteous nation? Said he not to me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother; in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this. And God Said to him in a dream, Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart; for I also kept you from sinning against me; therefore I did not let you touch her. Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a Prophet, and he shall pray for you, and you shall live; and if you restore her not, know you that you shall surely die, you, and all who are yours. Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears; and the men were very afraid. Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, What have you done to us? And in what have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done.

Bereisheit 20.10

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲבִימֶלֶךְ אֶל־אַבְרָהָם מָה רָאִיתָ כִּי עָשִׂיתָ אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה1:1

And Abimelech said to Abraham, What did you see, that you have done this thing?

Bereisheit 20.11

And Abraham Said, Because I Said, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.

Within our world we do business with and interact with people we may choose not to associate with. Abraham was placed in a situation like this when the King of Gerar took his wife, Sarah. What would you do if placed in the same situation?

Let's first remember that Avraham was a Prophet. This means Avraham had Visions and Dreams. This means Avraham spoke Words from God. We read in Ha Torah that Avraham Said.

וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָהָם כִּי אָמַרְתִּי

Many translations use the Word 'thought' as in I thought Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.

However Avraham was a Prophet. Avraham didn't just think the Fear of God is not in this place. Avraham Saw through a Vision that the Fear of God was not in this place. The Word אָמַרְתִּי normally means to say. One must ask was Avraham attempting to be politically correct here, when he spoke with King Abimelech? I don't think so! Avraham condemned the king because as a Prophet he Saw the Fear of God was absent. He took actions because of his Vision. Sarah did like wise. Sarah agreed with her husbands Vision. Sarah had a Vision. Sarah could see what an evil man Abimelech was. Our Sages reveal a discussion between our Creator and Abimelech which is not mentioned in Ha Torah.

After the destruction of Sedom, Abraham again changed his residence, moving his tent from Chevron to the Philistine city of Gerar. For what reasons did Abraham leave Charon?

1, Abraham was forced to forsake his old neighborhood because rumors of Lot's actions with his daughters were circulating. Lot's bad reputation also reflected in Avraham who was Lot's uncle. Avraham, afraid of a Chiluil The Lord, [profanation of the Divine Name] decided therefore to settle in a different place. 141

2. [Abraham's] overwhelming desire to perform kindness made him seek guests constantly. After the destruction of Sedom the roads in that area were deserted. Avraham consequently returned to Gerar where there would be wayfarers for him to serve.142

Avraham knew the people living in Gerar were not God fearing. As a result for safety reasons, he called himself Sarah's brother, like he did in Egypt. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York:  Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p. 180

The Midrash informs us that once Sarah was forcibly taken to Abimelech's palace she told him, 'I am a married woman!' Avimelech ignored Sarah but the Lord sent the Angel Michael to protect her. He could not even approach Sarah.

The Lord Spoke to Abimelech in a dream Saying, 'The woman you took to your palace is married! As a result you deserve to die according to the Seven Noachide Laws. Avimelech objected. He claimed to be righteous.

The All Seeing Eternal Judge Said, Your claim to righteousness is not justified, since it was I who Prevented you from touching her... You are deserving of death! You kidnapped Sarah! Stealing is a prohibition of the Noachide Law of 'robbery' in the Ha Torah. Now, return this woman to her husband at once! Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York:  Benei Yakov Publications 1980), pp 180 - 181

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲבִימֶלֶךְ אֶל־אַבְרָהָם מָה רָאִית כִּי עָשִׂיתָ אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה

[What Do You] See?

רָאִיתָ

ר200 א1 י10 ת400 ‫=611

As a Prophet Avraham Saw an absence of Torah Observances. Avraham Saw an absence of righteousness. When the Observances of Ha Torah are absent from our world our world is NOT the place our Creator Intended it to be!!

The Words Avimelech asked Abraham are 'What do you see?' Mystically the Words ask, 'Do you see Torah? Do you see [anyone] Observing the Torah?' The answer is no!

Torah

תוֹרָה

ת400 ו6 ר200 ה5 = 611

Each of us are required to Observe various Commands within Ha Torah. It does not matter if we are Jewish or not. Why? Our Creator Established His Will and His Rule for this World, He Created it. His Will and His Rule remains the same today as when He Created this Universe. His Will includes joining Him in Heaven after our life on this earth is concluded. His Will is for us to IMPROVE as individuals.

So if the home place does not Observe Torah the Home place is a scary place to be. If the Work place does not Observe Ha Torah the Work Place is a frightening place to be. God Teaches us Seven Laws to follow and to Observe that makes every place a good happy loving wonderful place to live.

What Do I Believe About Rabbi Jesus?

Your comment gives me the impression that you are a 'BELIEVER'. I define a believer as a dedicated individual who is closed to the Truth.  A believer remains CONVINCED that Rabbi Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God and God even when the Truth shows this is impossible. A believer is CONFIDENT there beliefs are right. Nothing anyone writes or says will alter what they believe.

We agree that Rabbi Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote about. We agree that the Messiah must come from the Tribe of Judah.

Michah 5.1

But you, Beth-Lehem Ephratah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth to Me, he who is to be ruler in Israel; and his origin is from ancient time, from days of old.

Jeremiah 23.5 - 6

Behold, the days come, Says The Lord, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, "The Lord is Our Righteousness".

Psalms 132.11 - 12

The Lord has sworn in truth to David; he will not turn from it; One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne. 12  If your children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon your throne for evermore.

We both agree that Matthew 1.18 says Jesus was the son of Mary

'Now the birth of Jesus [who christians call] Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.'

We agree that 'IF" The Holy Ghost fathered Jesus then Joseph was not Jesus father. If The Holy Ghost Fathered Jesus then Joseph was at best only Jesus Step-Father.

Matthew informs us that Joseph was not Jesus father we cannot HONESTLY say or TRUTHFULLY CLAIM that Rabbi Jesus was from the tribe of Judah or of the seed of David based on his Step-Father's genealogy. So Joseph's Genealogy in Matthew does not support Rabbi Jesus as being from the Tribe of David or the seed of David.

Matthew clearly tells us that the genealogy in Matthew 1:16 was that of Jesus Step Father.  He wrote, 'And Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary of whom Jesus was born who [Christians] call Christ.'

I compared the Genealogy in Matthew 1.1 - 17 to the Genealogy in I Chronicles 1.27 - 3.19 and Observed that for some reason Matthew omitted 5 names from Rabbi Jesus Genealogy. The genealogies in Chronicles are well established. They were written more than 480 years before was written Matthew. They were vetted.

View Rabbi Jesus Genealogy Chart

Matthew states, 'So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.'

Does your Bible say this? This is WRONG! There were 19 generations from Babylon to Jesus birth. Matthew says there are 14 generations but there are actual 19. Someone is mistaken! This is an error! Who made this error? This is why I call the Christian writings The Foreign Testament. The writings have errors. They are not perfect. They have mistakes.

So what about Mary? Is the genealogy in Luke Mary's genealogy?  Christian scholars did not know there were two versions of genealogy until around the 17th century. When this was discovered they were obviously very concerned. What were they going to do? The Genealogies did not match. At that time it was suggested that one genealogy was Mary's and the other Joseph's. H. D. M. Spence and Joseph S. Exell editors, The Pulpit Commentary Volume 22 Epistles of Peter, John and Jude. The Revelation (Grand Rapids, Michigan, Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, reprint 1975) pp. 135, 169

HOWEVER,  this does not help Christians because Luke writes  Mattatha was the son of Nathan who was the son of David in Luke 3:31. This is a HUGE PROBLEM for Christians because the Messiah MUST be a descendant of Solomon who was a descendant of David.

2 Samuel 7.12 - 13

'And [David] when your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall issue from your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13  He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.'

Nathan the son of David in Luke 3:31 did not build The Holy Temple for The Lord God. Solomon built The Holy Temple for The Lord God. The Prophecy clearly states that the one who builds the Holy Temple for The Lord God is the one whose kingdom will be established forever.

So to conclude, Mathew 1:16 says 'Joseph was the husband of Mary'. Matthew 1:20 'Mary Your wife' Do you think it is alright to take another man's wife and impregnate her?

Matthew states that it was obvious to Joseph that Mary was pregnant and that 'he was not willing to make her a public example' and that 'he was going to put her away privily'.

Think about what Matthew wrote.  It obviously was a great surprise to Joseph to see that his wife was pregnant. Matthew says Joseph did not make her pregnant,  'before they came together'. What about Mary's mother? What about Mary's Father? What about Mary siblings? What about Mary's neighbors? What about the Jewish community Mary Lived in? What about Mary's girlfriends?

Christians don't know the Jewish procedure for marrying. How does a man take a wife in Judaism? There are so many unknowns that Christians should be asking. Why don't you ask these questions. Put yourself in the mother's shoes. If Mary was your daughter and all of the sudden she was pregnant at the age of 12 what would you think?  How would you react? Put yourself in the father's shoes.

Is one's imagination so impressionable that one would actually believe only Mary and Joseph knew she was nine months pregnant? How far does one have to stretch there imagination to believe this story? To what degree will Christians go to deny what is very obvious! The Lord God did NOT impregnate Mary!! Are you that easily persuaded? Are you this credulous?

It comes down to this. Do you believe what Rabbi Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5.22? 'Abstain from all appearance of evil.'

Do you think that impregnating another mans wife could have the appearance of wrong doing or evil?  I do!!

Do you think Joseph looked at his wife Mary being pregnant as being evil? I do!!

Dear Ones, some of the issues within Christianity and The Foreign Testament  result from poor translations.  Some issues exist because believers just don't really think about what is written within there own Testament and doctrines. When one comes to these ruff places in the road logic is very helpful.  For example if The Lord God says Humans should refrain from a particular action then Logic teaches us that The Angels, Spiritual Beings, and The Lord God also refrain from these actions also. This is the line of thinking when Rabbi Peter, i.e. the first Pope of the Catholic Church states in 1 Peter 1:15 - 16, 'But as he which has called you is holy, so should you be holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, You must be Holy because  I Am Holy.'

Rabbi Peter is telling Christians to practice logical thinking. If The Lord God is Holy then Christians are also suppose to be Holy. Rabbi Peter is quoting from Ha Torah, i.e

Leviticus 11.45

For I am the Lord that Brings you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be Holy, for I Am Holy.

Dear Reader this is Logic. So when The Lord God Says Birds, fish, animals, trees and flowers should each mate with there own kind this means Angels are prohibited from mating with the daughters of men as described in Genesis 6.2.

Genesis 6.2

Two of the Angels] of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful; and they took as wives all those whom they chose.

Genesis 6.4

There were 'the fallen' / Giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, because [two of the Angels] of God came in to the daughters of men, and [had relationships with them and] they bore children to them, the same became mighty men of old, men of renown [Giants].

Genesis 6.12 - 13

And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. And God Said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them [i.e. the two fallen angels]; and, behold, I will destroy them [the two fallen angels and the offspring] with the earth.

This is why the world then was destroyed.

What are the instructions God gave to Noach?

Genesis 6.17 - 20

And, behold, I, Myself, will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, where there is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with you will I establish my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20  Of birds after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.

So we see that The Lord God punished the world then and destroyed it because two fallen angels mixed there seed with that of humans which was NOT AFTER Their own kind. Therefore The Lord God would NOT violate any form of mixing seed as described in Matthew 1.18 and 1:20.

'Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost... But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.'

Using common sense and logic while studying The Holy Scriptures is absolutely necessary. One consider from the position of common sense and logic those claims that are not within  the realm of possibilities?

In Bereisheit / Genesis 1.11

11  And He, God Said, Let grass on earth [bring forth] grass, herb from their own seed, and the fruit tree making fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth; and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

21 And God Created the great giants, the great ones, and every being that is alive, that lives in the waters, according to its kind,  and every kind of winged birds, according to its kind and God Saw that it was good.

24  And God Said, Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

25  And God Made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God Saw that it was good.

Grass mated with grass and brought forth grass. Herbs mated with herbs and brought forth herbs. Fruit trees mated with their own kind and brought forth Fruit of their kind.

And God Saw it was good.  This means mating within one's own kind is good.  Mating outside of one's kind is not good.

Ha Torah Prohibits mixing diverse species together. This is called Kilayim meaning,  crossbreeding seeds. Their are nine types of forbidden mixtures.

1.mixed seeds

2 grafting trees

3 seeds in a vineyard

4 cross-breeding animals,

5 pulling cattle

6 mixing linen and wool in garments (shatnez).

7. Animals and humans

8. Angels and humans

9. God our Creator and humans

Kilayim is prohibited by Ha Torah. Our Creator FORBIDS altering species He Established and Created as an unwarranted tampering with the categories established by God's creation. The Jerusalem Talmud interprets the verse "My statutes you shall keep" as the laws of nature. Creation comes from God, implying that the alteration of a natural law or the modification of a species constitutes an impermissible violation of creation.  http://www.coejl.org/learn/bd_artson.php

James teaches engrafting in James 1.21. Paul teaches graphing in Romans 11:17; 19; 23-24 These are forbidden by The Holy Scriptures.

They alter what God Has Created! This is forbidden.

Bereisheit 16.1

וְשָׂרַי אֵשֶׁת אַבְרָם לֹא יָלְדָה לוֹ וְלָהּ שִׁפְחָה מִצְרִית וּשְׁמָהּ הָגָר1:1

Genesis 16.1

And Sarai, the wife of Avram, had no children and she had a Egyptian maid servant and her name was Hagar.

At this time Sarai was 75 years of Age and Avraham was 85 years of age. Ha Torah Says Avram was 99 and Yishmael was 13 at the time of their Brit Milah. 13 from 99 equals 86. Avram was 86 when Yishmael was born and 85 when Yishmael was conceived, Genesis 17.24,25.

Bereisheit 16.2

Genesis 16.2

And She, Sarai Said to Avram, Behold! Now! The Lord Has Constrained me from having children. Go, now to my maid servant, it maybe you can build [through her] and he, Avram listened to the voice of Sarai.

I was seeking a ladies perspective on the words וַיִּשְׁמַע אַבְרָם לְקוֹל שָׂרָי so I asked my wife, Brachah Rivkah what her perspective was on these words. Brachah Rivkah wrote several comments:

'Sarai was influenced by the customs of the time and the people whom they were surrounded by.' Society influence's us.

'She Saw that The Lord was restraining her from becoming pregnant because of some failing within her. The act of selflessness was meant to obtain favor from The Lord and in someway "atone" for her failing. Was she right to do this? Should she have waited? I think most people believe she should have waited. But Sarai did not want barriers in her relationship to The Lord. so Sarai took Hagar and gave her to Avram. He did not take Hagar. He received her from Sarai...'

What are your thoughts on this matter?

My close friend Yochanan and I were discussing these words. Yochanan felt like one has to see beyond the words sometimes. He felt like Avram should have prayed about Sarai's Words. He should have talked to The Lord like he did in Genesis 21.12. There we observe several changes. First the words are not לְקוֹל שָׂרָי meaning, 'listen to her voice.'

They are תֹּאמַר אֵלֶיךָ שָׂרָה שְׁמַע בְּקֹלָהּ meaning, 'Sarai, She Said to him, hear meaning in the words.' In other words hear what my heart is saying.

I think this means, hear what is in Sarai's heart... what is in Sarai's mind. Hear the intent of Sarai and not just what she is saying. Don't listen just to the words. Listen to her intent. In Genesis 16.2 Avram listened to the Words Sarai Said. A full month in the Jewish calendar, is thirty days. This is equal to the Letter Lamid.

The moon and its cycle of birth and death are a symbol of rebirth every thirty days. In the sefirot there are ten attributes. Each attribute is an emanation of The Lord God. We study the attributes to learn how to be more like our Creator. One of the ten attributes is Malchut, meaning kingdom. Malchut embodies King David in that he is a King that descended from the kingly tribe of Yehudah / Judah. How? The Gematria of יְהוּדָה Yehudah is 30.

יְהוּדָה

Yehudah

י10 ה5 ו6 ד4 ה5 = 30

This is mystically representative of the Letter ל Lamid and of the month's renewal. In קידוש לבנה which is the service of blessing the new moon we exclaim:

And He Said of the moon, that it should renew itself like a crown of splendor, as those that are borne [by Him] from the womb, those who are destined to renew themselves [each month] like [like the moon] and to glorify their Creator for the sake of His Glorious Kingdom. Blessed are You Lord Who Renews the months. The Shottenstein Edition Siddur for Weekdays With An Interlinear Translation (Mesorah Publications, Ltd., Brooklyn, N.Y. first edition 2002) p 456

An Adult woman has a monthly cycle. The basic, physically cycle is connected to the lunar month which is the basis of the Jewish calendar.

All of this is represented by the Letter Lamid. Now we connect the Lamid to the voice of Sarai. It is לְקוֹל שָׂרָי which means 'listen to the voice [heart] of Sarai. This is the issue that men have. Husbands listen to the voice of their wife without hearing or understanding what the wife's heart is saying. I think this is why The Lord used the Letter ב Bet in Genesis 21.12 when Speaking with Avraham.

Bereisheit 21.12

Genesis 21.12

And God said to Abraham, Let it not be grievous in your sight because of the lad, and because of your slave; in all that Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac shall your seed be called.

We see in this Verse the Letter bet three times. Is this an indication that Avraham did not want to see... that Avraham did not want to listen... than Avraham wanted to share between Yishmael and Yitzchok? I don't know. However it is clear that Avraham was torn by what Sarah said. Avraham's heart was crushed. His heart was torn!

I think the point is for men not just to listen to their wife's voice but to hear what is in her heart. The Letter ל Lamid and ב Bet spell לב Lav meaning 'heart'. What is my wife communicating. So, if Avram had heard the heart of Sarah it would not have mattered that Sarai brought Hagar to him to be a wife to give him children. It would not have mattered that this was the custom of society the community. Why? Men must listen to the heart of their wife. The wife says the proper things, the expected thing. Yet the heart may not always agree with the voice. The voice of the wife attempts to put up a good front. The voice of the wife attempts to be pleasing to her husband. Many times a wife says what she thinks her husband whats her to say. The husband must go beyond the voice of his wife to hear her heart. In other words we could ask, is the husband seeking a rubber stamp from his wife? Such an action is normally not the best choice. Although the husband is listening to his Wife's Words he listens with blindness. He is not listening to her heart. The Gematria of לְקוֹל שָׂרָי Lih Kohl Sarai is 676. The Gematria of עוֹרֹת Oh Roht Blindness is also 676.

לְקוֹל שָׂרָי

Lih Kohl Sarai

ל30 ק100 ו6 ל30 ש300 ר200 י10 = 676

עוֹרֹת

Our Parshat begins with Yitzchok pleading to HaShem for children.

Genesis 25.20, 21

And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah for his wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Padan-Aram, the sister to Laban the Aramean.  And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Our Gematria Parshat begins with Isaac taking Rebekah as his wife. He was forty years old. Rebekah was three years old.  Isaac was born when Abraham was 100 years old in 2048 From Creation.  Rebekah was born in 2095 F. C.  This was the year of the Akidiah  when Abraham took Isaac up Mt Moriah to be offered as a sacrifice. How do we know this?

The Torah Says Abraham was 10 years older than Sarah his wife. [Abraham said, '...Shall a child be born to him who is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear? - Genesis 17.17

The Torah Says Sarah was 127 years when she died. Genesis 23.1-2.

The ages are based upon Bereisheit 23.1.  Sarah is 127, Avraham is 137 and Yitzchok is 37.  It is immediately after the Akeidah that Avraham 'was informed [by HaShem] that his son's mate had been born. This is in accordance with Genesis 22.20-24. 'And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also born children to your brother Nahor... and Bethuel fathered Rebekah...' Rabbi Dr. H. Freedman, Midrash Rabba (New York, NY: The Soncino Press 1983) - Midrash Rabbah writes, Tamar was the daughter of Shem. p 504

It is at this chronological time Abraham is informed of the birth of Rebekah. The soul of Sarah transmigrates to Rebekah. This is how in part we know that Rebekah was 3 years old when Isaac was 40 years old. In addition Genesis 24.16 provides more information

Bereisheit 25.22,23

Genesis 25.22,23

And they crushed [and bruised and struggled] the sons inside her, and when this happened she questioned why is this happening to me?  And she went to inquire from Aleph to Tav about this from HaShem.  Bereisheit 25.22

And He Said HaShem to her, 'Two nations are in your womb and two peoples will separate from within you and to one people will be fullness [and great] boldness and the great will serve the junior.' Bereisheit 25.23

This historical event we are discussing was in the year 2098 F.C.

For those in the 21st century this will seem strange. It maybe strange for people in the 21st century but it was common for people living in

Bereisheit 24.16

Genesis 24.16

And the girl [damsel] was very pretty to look upon, a virgin, and no man had known her; [i.e. she had not practiced unnatural intimacy] and she went down to the well, and filled her vessel and came up.

Genesis 24.16. KJV uses the word damsel.  See Strong's reference # 5291, (a girl from infancy to adolescence).   It is immediately after the Akeidah that Avraham 'was informed [by HaShem] that his son's soulmate [Rebekah] had been born. This is in accordance with Genesis 22.20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also born children to your brother Nahor... and Bethuel fathered Rebekah...' Rabbi Dr. H. Freedman, Midrash Rabba (New York, NY: The Soncino Press 1983) - Midrash Rabbah writes, Tamar was the daughter of Shem. p 504

Yitzchok and Rivkah did not consummate their marriage until she was twelve or thirteen. This means nine years passed.  Rebekah was now 12 and Isaac was 49 years of age. It was at this time that they consummated their marriage. Then they have no children after ten years of a normal husband wife relationship. Instead of taking a second wife as his Father Avraham did Isaac prays for his wife to have children. Within the next year they had a child see Bereisheit 25.21 - 26.  Isaac was sixty years of age and Rebekah was 23 years of age.

The girl.. והנערה Vih Hah Nah Ah Raw Rivkah was only three.    See Bereisheit 24.16. Her mother and brother refer to Rivkah as לנערה Lah Hah Nah Ah Raw, the girl. See Bereisheit 24.57.  They felt she was attached to her present family.  They felt she was too young to leave home even though boys and girls then, were much different than they are today.  They were more developed.  They were more intelligent.  They worked from a very young age.  To verify this consider, Yaakov's children.  All in all five references in Ha Torah refer to Rivkah as a young girl.

Yaakov's oldest child Reuben, who was born after Yaakov had worked for Laban for seven years, kept the flock for his father, which was a three-day journey away.  Ha Torah states, He gave them [the sheep] to his sons, Bereisheit 30.35.  Ha Torah states, He [Yaakov] placed them a three days journey [away], Bereisheit 30.36.  How old were his sons when this happened?  This was after Yaakov had served Laban for 14 years.  He served seven years for Leah and seven years for Rachel, then he served six years for his cattle. {Bereisheit 31.41}  This means that Reuben was no older than six years three months old when he began keeping his father's flocks with his brothers.  Reuben was born to Yaakov after Yaakov had worked for seven years.  Yaakov then worked an additional seven years.  It was during the first year of that second seven-year period that Yaakov's first wife, Leah, gave birth.  This was the birth of Reuben.  Now all the other brothers were much younger.  The second son, Shimon, was around five.  Levi, the third son, was around four.   Judah was close to three.  It was at this point that Rachel gave Bilhah to Yaakov.  So, dear reader, we see that Ha Torah establishes the age of children who worked a full day, and who were responsible to be much younger than children today.

Now this proves that the age of Rivkah, three,  when she married Yitzchok was not out of the question.  It is well within the realm of possibility!!  Yet this is why they sent Devorah, Rivkah's nurse, along with her.

Interesting letters are added to several of the words in the first Passuk / Verse.  This is not by mistake.  I have noted the letters.  The Yud represents the intensity of the struggle between Esau and Yaakov.  The Tav in Vah Yeet Roh Tzah Tzoo represents that this fighting in the womb of Rivkah was a sign.  The Tav in Vah Toh Mehr represents another sign.  Rivkah spoke out loud to her sons.  Why are you fighting?  Like a mother would say to her children, Why are you fighting / hurting your brother?  Yet this was very puzzling to Rivkah.

Our sages state that when Rivkah would pass by the doorways of Torah study at the school of Shem and Evier, Yaakov would rush to come out, and when Rivkah would pass by houses of idol worship Esau would rush to come out. Can you imagine how Rivkah must have felt?

Let's examine this a little closer. Notice the phrase, שני גוים בבפנך Shih Nay - Goh Yeem - Bih Veet Naych {Two nations are in your womb} Within these three words there are two unique acrostics. An acrostic is the composition in which certain letters in a line form a word or words. In the first acrostic notice the first Letter, i.e. on the right.  In the second acrostic notice the last Letter on the left.

The first acrostic is from the first letter of each of the three words below from the phrase Shih Nay - Goh Yeem - Bih Veet Naych. This is noted in the first example. The second acrostic is taken from the last letter of the last two words of the same phrase. The second acrostic follows the first as Yaakov followed Esau in birth. This acrostic is taken from the last letter of the last two words of the same phrase. I noted this by making these letters darker.  Esau was the first born.  The first acrostic refers to him.

 שני   גוים   בבטנך = שגב

Saw Gahv {to be high, mighty, strong, extolled, sublime}.

ש300 ג3 ב2 = 305

 שני   גוים   בבפנך

[Final Mem]       מ = ם  [Normal Mem]

 מך

Mawch {poor, humble}

מ40 ך20 = 60

The second acrostic describes Yaakov the second born son, the son who fled from his brother.  Yaakov was the son who for twenty years was the poor son.  From a lesson in a course {Torah 203} at B'nai Noach Torah Institute, LLC entitled Yaakov's Staff we take the following quote which discusses Yaakov's poverty: 'Our sages teach that when Yaakov fled his father Yitzchok's home, Elifaz, the son of Esau, went after him {Yaakov} and overtook him. Elifaz was ordered by his evil father Esau to murder his Uncle Yaakov. Yet Elifaz was raised by his grandfather Yitzchok. Elifaz did not want to disobey his father's order to kill his Uncle Yaakov, even though he realized it was an evil order. Elifaz recognized this responsibility to his father, yet he also recognized his responsibility to do righteousness... When he overtook his Uncle Yaakov he explained his predicament. His Uncle Yaakov helped him sort things out.

...Yaakov's counsel to his nephew was to take everything that he [Yaakov] had with him because a poor man is considered dead. So Elifaz heeded his Uncle Yaakov's counsel and took everything but Yaakov's clothes and staff.

So from the same three word phrase Shih Nay - Goh Yeem - Bih Veet Naych {Two nations are in your womb} we have the acrostic of Saw Gahv {to be high, mighty, strong, extolled, sublime} representing Esau and the acrostic of Mawch {poor, humble} representing Yaakov. The Gematria of שגב Saw Gahv is 305.  The Gematria of מך Mawch is 60.

The Gematria 305 through Mysticism describes the actions and intent of Esau in the word להרע Lih Haw Rah {to hurt, harm; to do evil} which is what Ha Torah states Esau intended to do to his brother Yaakov. Esau said in his heart, 'The days of mourning for my father are approaching. I will then kill everything from Aleph to Tav of my brother, Yaakov,'  Bereisheit 27.41.  Esau's evil intention was to make it seem as if Yaakov had never been born or existed.

להרע Lih Haw Rah {to hurt, harm; to do evil}

ל30 ה5 ר200ע70 = 305

הלכה Ha Law Chawh {law, rule, tradition}

ה5 ל30 כ20 ה5 = 60

In the Gematria 60 we see reverence for God and reverence for His Commands in Ha Torah in the word הלכה Hah Law Chawh {law, rule, tradition}. It was Yaakov who loved to study Hah Law Chawh, according to our sages. Yaakov who loved to dwell in tents of learning. Yaakov learned with Shem, the righteous son of Noach, and with Eiver, the righteous great grandson of Shem.

So among these two nations we see Esau, the high, mighty and strong one, subdued by Yaakov, the younger, the humble student of Ha Torah!

Genesis 5.1

 זֶה סֵפֶר תּוֹלְדֹת אָדָם בְּיוֹם בְּרֹא אֱלֹהִים אָדָם בִּדְמוּת אֱלֹהִים עָשָׂה אֹתוֹ1:1

This is the Book of Generations of Adam [singular] in the day God Created [singular] Adam [singular]. With [Spiritual] likeness, God made them [plural] .

Genesis  5.2

 זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה בְּרָאָם וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתָם וַיִּקְרָא אֶת־שְׁמָם אָדָם בְּיוֹם הִבָּרְאָם1:1

Male and Female He Created [plural] and Blessed them [plural] and He Called everything from Aleph to Tav of their name [plural] Adam [singular] in the day they were Created [plural].

Adam and Eve were created in one physical body [then separated later the same day]. They were Created in the Lord God's Spiritual Image as were the Angels. God does not have a physical body. Pharaoh defined this when he said in regards to Joseph, And Pharaoh said to his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? Genesis 41.38

The writer John said,

God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth, John 4:24.

Genesis 1.26

And He Said [singular] God [plural] Let us Make Adam in our image [plural] in our likeness [plural] and let them rule [plural] fish in the waters and birds in the heavens and with all animals in the earth and with all creeping on the earth.

Who was God Speaking with?  The Sages say the Angels.

Genesis 1.27

And He [singular], God [plural] Created [singular] everything from the Letter Aleph to the Letter Tav of Ha Adam / the man [singular] in His Form [singular] in His Form [singular] God [plural] Created [singular] them [plural] male / masculine and female / feminine He Created [singular] them [plural].

Here we Observe that God Created [singular]. They did not create anything.

Genesis 2.27

And He [singular] The Lord [singular] God [Plural - used as singular] Formed [singular] everything from Aleph to Tav of Ha Adam / Adam and Eve from dust of the ground and He [singular] blew into the nostrils the Soul of Life and it happened Ha Adam / The Man became a living Soul.

The Midrash Says, Adam's physical creation was twofold, male and female in one body.  In front he was a man, but attached to him in back was a woman. Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York:  Benei Yakov Publications 1980), p. 33

Right from the beginning God Created 'mankind' male and female, with equal Godliness and of equal worth.  Neither was more in the likeness of God than the other, both were given the same Blessing by God, both together were given the name 'Adam'...And He Called them Man on the day they were created - i.e., He Called both of them Man - including Eve - because her formation was from the man, individually, however, she was called Eve (R. Meyuchas).

Harav David Cohen points out that male and female components were originally created in the single body of Adam (Eruvin 18a).  Thus, when God Named him Adam, it was implicit that his female part - which was later to become a separate human being - was also called Adam, because male and female were two halves of one whole. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series - Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 167

R' Yirmiyah ben Elazar Said... - The first man [Adam] had, i.e. he was created with two facial figures.  The back was later separated to form the first woman, Eve...  - As it states (Psalms 139.5) [From the] back the front You Have Formed me.

The Gemara cites a dispute concerning the appendage from which Eve was fashioned...

It is Written (Genesis 2.22): Then the Lord, God, built the side that He Had Taken from the man into woman...  Rav Shmuel disputed the meaning of this verse... - One Said the side referred to was a figure, i.e. man was created as a double figure, a male figure and a female figure joined back to back.  The female figure was later removed to form Eve. Talmud - Eruvin 18a

(Genesis 5.2) He Created them male and female, which indicates  that humans were created from the very first both male and female...

The Gemara Explains:

This verse can be explained as [taught by] R' Abahu... For R' Abahu contrasted the two Verses:

[1] He Created them male and female, referring to man's creation in the plural, indicating that both man and woman were created at the same time; but it is also written...

[2] In the image of God He Created him, referring to man's creation in the singular, [possibly] indicating that only man was created originally, not woman... [In actuality the one [Eve] was fashioned from the first [one Adam]].

Genesis 2.18

And the Lord God Said it is not good for Ha Adam [ the man - which at that time include Adam and Eve ] to be alone.  I will fashion a help mate like [him] opposite [him].

Wife / Ee Shaw

אעשה

 אשה

To Make to Fashion

עשה

אעשה

The Hebrew Letter ע Ayin Represents sight or insight... Our Creator Formed the wife with sight / insight.

The word Eeh Shaw meaning wife has the Letter Aleph א which may be exchanged for the Letter ע Ayin. One must question the use of the word him when we know in fact it is them.  Adam and Eve are in one shared body that is referred to as him in Genesis 5.1, 2.

We see that our Creator Endorses some separation of husband and wife.  He Separated them. He Created them.

Originally Adam and Eve were one body and one soul.  Then they were divided.  They were separated.  Up until this point we know they were in agreement or they could not function.  However after they were separated they each had their own individual choices.  The Word כְּנֶגְדּוֹ Cih Neg Doh means like him [but] opposite of him.  This means Eve was opposite of him sexually.  This also means that Adam was like Eve and that Eve was like Adam.  She was created like him.  HOWEVER if Adam would stray from the original Adam, i.e. the created Adam, then Eve would no longer be like the strayed Adam she would be opposite him.

Genesis 2.21

The Lord God Caused a deep sleep to fall on Ha Adam, the man. [Both Adam and Eve were asleep.  Both were not conscious.]  the Lord God Took from the being... the double figure that was Ha Adam, [i.e. Adam and Eve] and closed the flesh in its place.

When our Creator Takes a woman from a man there is a wound left afterwards. The Torah Says that [He] closed over the flesh in its place. Anytime a couple separates there is a wound.  The man has a wound and the woman has a wound. Make no mistake there is a wound that requires closing. The time required for closing is different for each of us.  The Word  וַיִּסְגֹּר Vah Yee Sih Gohr means to lock, to close, to shut, to enclose, to bolt shut...  When a relationship ends when togetherness ends when sharing ends, when loving ends IT IS PAINFUL!!  The flesh must be closed over.

This next part is AMAZING!! It is תַּחְתֶּנָּה Tah Chih Teh Nawh meaning to close over.  However the translation does not explain what is at the core of closing over.  The shoresh (root) of  תַּחְתֶּנָּה Tah Chih Teh Nawh is חתן Chah Tawn meaning to wed.  The point is that marriage heals the wound of what one has lost.  So while one requires sometime to adjust after being separated from one's mate the real closing of separation comes with MARRIAGE of a new mate - not a relationship. A man needs a wife for balance. A woman needs a husband for balance. Together husband and wife possess the ability to be equal.

Genesis 2.22

And He, the Lord God, Built everything from the Letter Aleph to the Letter Tav from the side that He took from Ha Adam into [the most beautiful] wife and brought her to Adam [the man no longer the couple].

Our Creator who fashioned Eve built from everything from the Letter Aleph to the Letter Tav from the side that He took from Ha Adam.  The result had to be the best of the best.  We notice from the Gematria of 68 for the Word וַיִּבֶן Vah Yee Vehn meaning, to build up. By building up the the material He took from Adam our Creator provided חַיִּים Chah Yeem meaning Life, and יָחֹן Yaw Choon meaning Favor, Beauty, and חֲכַם Chah Cahm meaning Wisdom to Eve.  This was not just for Eve's benefit. It was for all of our good.  Our Creator Breathed Life into lifeless clay then our Creator fashioned life out of Adam's side.

וַיִּבֶן

Vah Yee Vehn

And He Built

חַיִּים

Chah Yeem

Life

ח8 י10 י10 ם60 =68

יָחֹן

י10 ח8 ן50 = 68

Dear Ones both Adam and Eve were created equal.  Both were Created at the same time. Both Adam and Eve came from the same body. The body changed when the Lord God Took Eve from Adam. At the time of their separation Adam needed a wife and Eve needed a husband.  Neither was equal any longer. Adam needed what Eve had and Eve needed what Adam had. Together they were equal. Separated neither were equal! The flesh from where they were separated needed to be closed over and was healed. This happened when Adam and Eve wed.

May each mate within marriage be sensitive to the other.  May each mate seek out the advice of their mate.  May each of us realize the great value and blessing of our mate!

Bereisheit 25.1

וַיֹּסֶף אַבְרָהָם וַיִּקַּח אִשָּׁה

וּשְׁמָהּ קְטוּרָה: ב

Genesis 25.1

And He, Avraham again took his wife and her name was Keturah.

Our Sages Teach that Avraham took Hagar whose name was changed to Keturah because here deeds were as beautiful / spiritual as קְטֹרֶת incense. Incense rises to the Heavens like one's Spirit. The root for קטר means incense, smoke and to shut one's self in, to enclose. Because of Hagar's attitude she became known as Keturah, the lady with a Spirit like incense or the lady who secluded herself to remain true to her husband. Keturah was was well thought of because she did not seek a divorce from Avraham. And Avraham did not grant Hagar a divorce. The Torah Portion of the Bible Says, וַיְשַׁלְּחֶהָ Vah Yih Shah Lih Cheh Caw, meaning 'And he sent her away.' Hagar was lost without her husband, Avraham. Ha Torah does NOT Say Avraham divorced Hagar. Sarah did not say to Avraham divorce Hagar. Sarah Said,

Genesis 21.10

[Sarah] Said to Avraham, 'Drive out this slave woman and everything from Aleph to Tav of her son for the son of this slave woman will not inherit with my son with Yitzchok.'

We have NO indication that Avraham divorced Hagar. Our Creator Said to Avraham,

Genesis 21.12

Elohim Said to Avraham, 'Do not consider this wrong in your eyes on account of the boy and your slave woman. Regarding all that Sarah tells you listen to her. For through Yitzchok will seed be considered yours.

The Gematria of וַיִּקַּח אִשָּׁה Vah Yee Kah Ach - Ee Shaw, meaning and he took is 430. The Gematria of נֶפֶשׁ Neh Pehsh / Nefesh meaning 'Soul' is 430. When one takes a wife Mystically we observe he is connecting with a soul. His wife is his Soulmate. How does one know He / she are soul mates? The fact is we are each from the same soul given to us by our Parents of Creation. Still the concept of one's SoulMate being the perfect one... the exact match... the correct fit... is correct. One must understand that perfection is received through marriage. Marriage is an institute where by the husband and wife help to polish the other into what our Creator Intends. The husband and wife work together to form a holy relationship to have a Holy Family with Holy children. The work together to be the single soul God Created them as.

וַיִּקַּח אִשָּׁה

Vah Yee Kah Ach - Ee Shaw, and he took

ו6 י10 ק100 ח8 - א1 ש300 ה5 = 430

נֶפֶשׁ

Neh Pehsh / Nefesh 'Soul'

נ50 פ80 ש300 = 430

Remember: THERE IS A CHOICE! A man or woman's intent is VERY IMPORTANT. The purpose of taking each other is NOT for just physical sexual pleasure. The Marriage relationship is intended by our Creator to be one of Holiness. Our Creator Blessed the marriage relationship. He did NOT Bless the one night sexual fling!!

Sarah was noted as Avram's Wife. This is an elevated place. Bereisheit 16.2

Ha Torah Says, 'And Sarai, Avram's wife took... Why does Ha Torah inform us Sarai was Avram's wife? We already know this. Why not say Sarah took. Why was it necessary to point out Sarah was Avram's wife again? Ha Torah Informs us that Sarai took Hagar to be Avram's wife in Genesis 16.3.

אֵשֶׁת

[Avram's] Wife / His Wife

א1 ש300 ת400 = 701

שְׂאֵת

To Elevate... To Rise...

ש300 א1 ת400 = 701

For a Husband and Wife to reach the lofty Mystical place of being a SoulMate requires elevating the relationship. It requires raising the relationship. Being a 'SoulMate' is not physical. Being a 'SoulMate' is Spiritual!

We continue with several additional points of importance.

What did Avraham do?

וַיַּשְׁכֵּם אַבְרָהָם ׀ בַּבֹּקֶר He got up early in the morning. Whenever we see Avraham facing a great difficulty we observe these three Words, וַיַּשְׁכֵּם אַבְרָהָם ׀ בַּבֹּקֶר See Genesis 19.27; 21.14 and 22.3. The first Letter of each Word combined spells שֹׁאֵב Shoh Ayv, meaning to draw as in to draw strength or as in to draw water (Devarim 29.10) which Mystically means to draw strength from Ha Torah. Sending Yishmael and Hagar away was troubling for Avraham but he did it first thing in the morning. Watching Sedom burn was troubling for Avraham. He arose early in the morning with the hopes there were ten righteous in Sedom. Avraham counted, Lot, Lot's wife, Lot's two married daughters and their husbands, Lot's two daughters who were yet to consummate their marriage and their husbands, a total of 10. When Avraham saw the smoke from the fire it was troubling to him. He felt great anxiety. Avraham arose early to travel to the place where he would offer Yitzchok as an offering. Why? This was deeply troubling to him. וּבְצָרָה Voo Vih Tzraw Rawh, meaning 'And with trouble.' From this we learn that Avraham faced his troubles in the morning. Avraham would draw from the Wells of Torah for Strength. The morning was Avraham's time for prayer. Avraham would seek הָרַחֲמִים Haw Rah Chah Meem, meaning the Mercy [of The Lord]. The Gematria of שֹׁאֵב Shoh Ayv, meaning to draw {from the waters of Ha Torah] is 303. The Gematria of וּבְצָרָה Voo Vih Tzraw Rawh, meaning 'And with trouble.' is 303. The Gematria of הָרַחֲמִים Haw Rah Chah Meem, meaning the Mercy [of The Lord] is 303.

שֹׁאֵב

Shoh to draw {from the waters of Ha Torah]

ש300 א1 ב2 = 303

וּבְצָרָה

Voo Vih Tzraw Rawh, 'And with trouble.'

ו6 ב2 צ90 ר200 ה5 = 303

הָרַחֲמִים

Haw Rah Chah Meem, the Mercy [of The Lord]

ה5 ר200 ח8 מ40 י10 ם40 = 303

We have discussed how Avraham faced issues that deeply troubled him. Now lets return to considering what a SoulMate is. We have established that The Torah Portion of the Bible does not Say Avraham divorced Hagar. This means they remained married. They remained separated for 38 years. How do we know this? Yitzchok was weaned when Yishmael mocked him, Genesis 21.8 - 14. Our Sages Teach this was after 24 months which is the customary time for a child to suckle, Gittin 75b; Kesuvot 60b. Yitzchok was 40 years of age when he married Rivkah, Genesis 25.20. It was immediately after this Avraham again took his wife Hagar whose name became Keturah.

Bereisheit 25.1

וַיֹּסֶף אַבְרָהָם וַיִּקַּח אִשָּׁה

וּשְׁמָהּ קְטוּרָה: ב

Genesis 25.1

And He, Avraham again took his wife and her name was Keturah.

I understand אִשְׁתּוֹ is the Word for 'His Wife. Because אִשָּׁה is used the translation would normally would be 'Wife' or 'A Wife'. However Keturah was already Avraham's wife. Therefore this usage means something entirely different than what meets the eye. When Avraham married Hagar she was Sarah's Servant. Notice the Wording carefully!!

In Genesis 25.1 Ha Torah Informs us that Avraham took again. Does this mean He took Sarah and now he was taking a wife again? Or does this mean Avram had already taken Hagar and was taking her back again? The Answer has to do with שָׂרַי ׀ אֵשֶׁת אַבְרָם Sarai was the wife of Avram. Hagar was a wife to Avram but not אֵשֶׁת 'his wife' because she belonged to Sarai. This changed when Avram sent Hagar out from his home. Hagar was free. She was no longer Avram's responsibility to care for as a slave. As a result he only gave her bread and water, i.e. Mystically Ha Torah to live on.

Exodus 21.7 -

And if a man sells his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. If she pleases not her master, who has designated her for himself, then shall he let her be redeemed; to sell her to a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he has dealt deceitfully with her. And if he has betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter. If he takes for himself another wife; her food, her garment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. And if he does not do these three things to her, then shall she go out free without payment of money.

Thirty eight years pass. Sarah dies. Yitzchok marryies Rivkah. At this point Avraham again takes Hagar. We know it is Hagar because of several Words that are used.

First is וַיֹּסֶף אַבְרָהָם and again Avraham took a wife...

Second is וַיִּקַּח אִשָּׁה 'And he took a wife.' Ha Torah Uses this language to point out this was Hagar, a wife. In Ha Torah 'A Wife' who is owned as a servant is not like a wife that is free. Hagar was NOT אֵשֶׁת אַבְרָם a wife of Avram. Hagar was Sarai's bond maiden. Hagar was a servant wife. She was owned by Sarai. So Sarai gave Hagar to her husband Avram to be a wife not to be אֵשֶׁת אַבְרָם a wife of Avram. So when we see Ha Torah Say וַיֹּסֶף אַבְרָהָם וַיִּקַּח אִשָּׁה 'And He, Avraham again took his wife...' We understand this is in reference to Hagar, 'a wife.' Our Sages point out that Hagar's / Keturah's status is still that of a concubine, i.e. a wife who status is lower than אֵשֶׁת אַבְרָם 'His Wife', Genesis 25.6. Rabbi Avrohom Davis, The Mesudah Chumash A New Linear Translation Bereishis (Hoboken New Jersey, KTVA Publishing House, Inc., 1991) p 267

The Torah portion of the Bible Teaches a man may have more than one wife at the same time. While a Wife may only have one Husband. Why? Does this seem equal? Is this fair? This is not an issue of fairness or equality. It is an issue of mixing seed which is prohibited by the Creator. Now, we are also required to abide by the laws where we reside. Laws that prohibit polygamy must be followed.

Course Text Begins Here:

We will try to review four areas in Genesis 3.

First  is a discussion on  who the serpent was and does the serpent pose danger today as then?  We discuss why the serpent was NOT Suton / Satan, i.e. the devil. We discuss the role the Creator has mapped out for Suton.

Bereisheit 3.1

Genesis 3.1

Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made... And he said to the woman, Has God said, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Let's compare  עָרוּם the word subtil... clever to עֲרוּמִּים naked. The plural for  subtil... clever... is עֲרוּמִּים which is also the spelling for naked. STOP! Who was naked? They were both naked. What is the point? עֲרוּמִּים naked is plural for  עָרוּם subtil... clever...

Bereisheit 2.25

 וַיִּהְיוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם עֲרוּמִּים הָאָדָם וְאִשְׁתּוֹ וְלֹא יִתְבּשָׁשׁוּ:

Genesis 2.25

And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

The point is that they were naked... they were exposed... they were uncovered... Yet could they have been subtle... clever... shrewd... crafty...prudent... deliberate... foxy...?

Second is a discussion on accountability. Who is accountable for taking the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?

Is the Serpent responsible?

Is Eve / Chavah responsible?

Is Adam responsible?

Are all responsible?

Adam was present for the entire conversation.

Bereisheit 3.1-5

Genesis 3.1-5

Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman [WIFE], Has God Said, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, you shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die. And the serpent said to the woman, surely you shall not die; For God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Should we consider the serpents choice and number of Words? YES! Why? Nothing is by chance. The serpent was subtle... clever... shrewd... crafty...prudent... deliberate... foxy...? The number of Words are highlighted in Yellow. The serpent spoke 26 Words to the Wife of Adam. The Gematria of Yud Kay Vav Kay. This is the Gematria of the Holy Name of the Lord.

י ה ו ה

י10  -  ה5  -  ו6  -  ה5  = 26

Chavah did not stop the conversation with the serpent.  Chavah did not use her authority over the serpent. Chavah listened. Chavah reasoned. Chavah did not consult with her husband.

Genesis 3.6

And when the woman [WIFE] saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate, and gave also to her husband with her; and he ate.

1. The Wife saw that the tree of knowledge of good and evil was good for food...

2. The Wife saw that the tree of knowledge of good and evil was pleasant to the eyes

3. The Wife saw that the tree of knowledge of good and evil was a tree to be desired to make one wise,

Adam did not stop the conversation. Adam did not intervene. Adam did not use his authority over the serpent. Adam listened. Adam watched. Adam did not consult with his wife nor advise her. 'Chavah took, i.e. she stole of its fruit, and ate, and gave also to her husband with her; and he ate.

Each are individually responsible and each are responsible as a group. Ha Torah is Teaching individual responsibility and group responsibility it this life story.

This should raise many questions about human and group behavior. Should Adam her husband spoke up? Should he have intervened? Should he have done something? Ha Torah does not say, Adam saw that the tree of knowledge of good and evil was good for food... or that  Adam saw that the tree of knowledge of good and evil was pleasant to the eyes or that Adam saw that the tree of knowledge of good and evil was a tree to be desired to make one wise.  Adam was standing right there with Chavah. Chavah's eyes were opened first. She realized that she was naked first. Yet, Chavah gave to Adam and he ate of the forbidden fruit. He ate of the stolen fruit.

Dear one, this is exactly how each of us are. We know better. We know what we should be doing. We know that what we are about to do is wrong yet, we do it anyway...

Third we discuss clothing.

There is NO PLACE in The Bible that says The Lord God sacrificed animals to cover Adam and Chavah. The Bible does not say anything about the Lord God shedding the blood of any animal. 'The Lord God made coats of skins, and clothed them.'  The Lord God took the skin of the serpent and combined that with the wool of sheep and goats to provide coats for Adam and Chavah.   עוֹר Ohr means skin.

Bereisheit 3.21

 וַיַּעַשׂ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהִים לְאָדָם וּלְאִשְׁתּוֹ כָּתְנוֹת עוֹר וַיַּלְבִּשֵׁם: פ

Genesis 3.21

For Adam and for his wife the Lord God made coats of skins, and clothed them.

In Chapter 1 we learned about אֶת־הָאוֹר 'The Lord's Revealed light through the 613 Observances of Ha Torah. We discussed the Word אוֹר Ohr meaning Light. When Adam and Chavah sinned their Glorious Shekinah which covered them departed. leaving them unclothed... The aura... the light... the shekinah they once enjoyed was now gone. In place of the Ohr / Light the Lord God made coats of עוֹר skins, and clothed them.

Our Sages Teach that one may interchange the Letters א Aleph and ע Ayin. When we interchange the Letter Aleph for Ayin in  אוֹר Ohr meaning Light it becomes  עוֹר skins. The Gematria changes from 207 to 276. The difference between them is 69. אוֹר Ohr is a Spiritual cover.  עוֹר Ohr is a skin covering. אוֹר Ohr represents a nearness to The Lord. עוֹר Ohr represents a greater distance from The Lord God. This is the result of our parents sin. סוּג Soog means to withdraw, to retreat, to move back, to recede. The Gematria of   סוּג Soog is 69.

 סוּג

Soog / withdraw, to retreat, to move back,

ס60 ו6 ג3 = 69
